It's actually on O'Connor Road, just east of Nacogdoches.

Our new seafood restaurant!! Bayseas Catfish House on O'Connor at Nacogdoches! We had a coupon that expired yesterday, and I've been wanting to try this place out for a few years now. Strangely, it was in the same shopping center as our Planet fitness. The food was excellent, fresh, homemade. Unlike Willie's cole slaw, theirs was crisp and cold, not mushy and lukewarm. The trout, oysters and shrimp were all fried perfectly. Service was awesome and friendly. One item wasn't served with the rest of the meal, but they quickly cooked it and brought it out. The clam chowder was New England style. Delicious!! My wife had the gumbo. I tried a bite, it was someone's family recipe made with love and care. My wife normally doesn't like a lot of seafood, but she liked my trout and chowder! Give them a try. We won't be going back to Sea Island. They've gotten worse over the years.

Place is legit. Always has been. Been going there for years while I lived in SA. Now that i live on ATX, I try to stop by whenever I can. Whatever seasoning they use on their food is incredible. Fried shrimp and catfish are always fried to perfection and incredibly well seasoned so much so you'll keep eating and eating and eating. Hard to say which is my fave but it's always a toss up between the fried fish, shrimp, catfish or shrimp poboy or gumbo. You really can't go wrong. Their swamp water is one of the best! Portions are always generous and the service is always very friendly.

This was my second visit. I came Friday a week ago and had excellent customer service. However when I got home the pork chop was soggy from the greens in the container. There was also one chicken breast when it was advertised as 2 I got the extra meat meal I called and I was asked if I could come back I said no I don't live that close. The young lady said I will put a note and next time you are here we will give it to you. Well that next time was today which is Saturday my last visit was last Friday. I walk in and explain to the young lady taking the order she said you don't get two it depends on the size of the breast. I said well that's not advised. So I proceeded to order and pay. The food was brought out for me to check the pork chop was fried to my liking but the two chicken breast was processed meat unlike what I got last Friday. The owner came out and said it was the same. I said sir I know the difference. I requested a refund from the young lady he came out and said I can give you another pork chop. That's not what I asked for. So I told him okay just keep it then to keep in your pocket or give it to someone who doesn't have enough. I'm done with this. A picture was taken of the chicken I got last week. I was too upset to take a picture of today's

Wow! Just had an amazing lunch at the famous Bayseas! This is a casual dining seafood spot you can't miss if you are in San Antonio! The service was so attentive and friendly. The food comes out quick, hot, and fresh! They are not serving day old fries here! We ordered the catfish platter and the fried shrimp and oyster platter. The onion rings were perfect! A nice light crispy batter and sweet onion on the inside that didn't fall apart when you eat it. They serve all the lemons, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce you could ask for! The shrimp tasted so fresh, with a light crispy batter. The oysters were fried hard with a crispy exterior and that delicious soft oyster belly! I throughly enjoyed this meal! This is my new must visit spot in San Antonio! If you love a delicious fried seafood platter this is the place to get your fix!

Shrimp Po Boy and Onion Rings. Yum!

Every. Single. Time. Service, atmosphere being clean even when chaotic during the rush hours, and of course the food - whether it's catfish or kool aid, pie or sides, EVERY LITTLE THING IS GONNA BE (better than) ALRIGHT!! Samia was our server the other day, and Karen has been in the past, and it's always nice to chat with these ladies. This newish guy Daniel is also fantastic at service, and the food runners who bring your food make sure you have all you need. It seems the cooks in the back have a good time back there, smiling and jamming out may contribute to the food being so well done? ‍ And of course if you wanna see Mr. Hill aka the Bossman, I don't think I've ever been there when he's not working, so nice to know he doesn't just sit and get rich. It seems like you're genuinely welcomed here, that any of the staff is greatful you came. Even if you're not a fan of seafood you can get a burger or some chicken nuggets for picky eaters, and fish lovers eat up! Soul food? Yep. They also have flounder, trout, and like 4 other kinds of fish, grilled or fried. Sides are aplenty and you get hefty portions of everything you order so prepare for a box. Definitely worth your money and would even travel well, but I recommend you go in and get the full Bayseas experience. I can't speak for other locations as from my understanding they are owned by related but not exactly the same people, but MY Bayseas? I'll bet Mr. Hill is the older brother/father of whoever owns the rest, and teaching those locations how to do it right!

I didn't need extra fat from avocado after the corn cakes since it doesn't add much flavor to the dish. The corn cakes are good and I will order again but not as good as some other cornbread. It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. I wish it was a fluffy whip cream to cut down from all the sweetness. Overall it's still a better tres leches than other places in the area.

The cabbage was somewhat spicy, the cornbread muffin was a half muffin, the muffin did not fill up the cupcake muffin wrapper. But the fried catfish, fried chicken wings and yams were on point, I would order the catfish and chicken wing plate to go anyday! The peach cobbler was very sweet. My daughter ordered meatloaf, a pork chop plate, Mac & cheese, collard greens, cornbread muffin, a tropical punch beverage and banana pudding which I felt the pudding was watered down vs. being thick. She asked for medium cooked pork chops and one pork chop was medium and one pork chop was over cooked. She notified the cashier and he stated they both were cooked at temp the same time. The collard greens were spicy and the Mac & cheese were watered down. I had to go to the restroom. This was the worst restroom in any restaurant I have ever used. First, there was no light on, I had to ask for light and one of the employees turned on the light. Secondly, there was an awful hole in the top right corner ceiling, I was afraid to use the restroom for fear of some bug crawling in through the ceiling hole. Third, there was also a hole in the wall visible behind the toilet tank top, again I was afraid to set down on the toilet and the whole bathroom decor was unappealing. When other patrons described this establishment as as "HOLE IN THE WALL" they were absolutely correct. Don't forget about the hole in the ceiling! Entering into the building, the walls and ceiling were black, making the atmosphere sad. There was also a small bar to the left of the dining area. But the kicker for me was, our two meals, two beverages, and two desserts cost $61!!! As many Soul Food Restaurant I have eaten in with my daughter for two people, I have never been charged so much for two soulfood meals with two beverages and two desserts. RECOMMEDATION: Of course my palate is different from other customers, but I would never return to the establishment due to being over charged for two meals, two beverages, two desserts and the lady's restroom was the pits.

I know him from a couple of shows I attended at Southtown 101 a couple of years ago. This is weird. A bunch of people were there, mostly families with young children. It is advertised as family karaoke. The bar has a sign stating that there are no minors after 9pm allowed. The families all seem to know each other. It is almost cult-like. A lot of the kids sang and it was cute. By 9:15pm, all the kids and their families were gone. About six of our adults were left. Mondo bizarro. I got to sing four songs so I'm not complaining. I did remark to one of the remaining adults that this was cult-like. He said yes, an Alamo Heights cult. Ahhhh... Creepy, but fun. My Pacificos were $7 each, a Coke was $2.77. Food truck food is offered. Lots of choices for nibbles. Give them a try.
