I went in 15 mins before their closing time on a Sunday. The young lady that assisted with my order was very nice and friendly. I ordered a customize bowl and bayside signature bowl. My husband and I loved it. Wasn't able to order and try their Spam Musubi because of the time so I guess I will be coming back again. read more

I am not gonna lie, best franchise poke I've ever tried. Very reasonable portions and toppings..I usually go to Poke House, but I enjoyed it here I wish there was one in San Jose! I think the team should also wear aprons. read more

Tried this twice now and both times they've been legit. Only thing missing I wish they had is shrimp. Other than that the place is always clean, food is fresh, and customer service is on point. Be sure to check in on 5 stars and also Yelp because there are great deals. read more

Fresh and amazing. Probably my favorite poke place in the east bay. They don't skimp on portions neither . Their spicy Mayo is spicy as well. Everything tasted fresh as it should read more

Ended up here after a full day of grocery shopping around 1pm. Not many people in line, which I was happy about because I was pretty hangry. When we walked in, we were welcomed right away which I like. I ordered their regular sized bowl, which comes with 3 proteins. Got their lemongrass ponzu sauce which was pretty flavorful. They also have SO many toppings to choose from, even hot cheetos! I would say the bowl overall was pretty good. My only small complaint was I wished there was more sauce given because the rice barely absorbed any sauce. **I don't eat spicy, but they have these spicy drops which you can add into your sauce. My sister got her bowl with 1 drop, and she said it has a small kick that she likes. I frequent this area, so will definitely be back! read more

Absolutely my go to in Fremont for Poke. So glad they're so close to my neighborhood. I can come at least once a week! My favorite is brown rice with tuna, salmon and hamachi. Sauce is always half and half ponzu (or lemongrass ponzu) and spicy mayo with unagi topper. Keep the mix ins simple with cucumber, carrot, onion, green onion, edamame and crab then top it with furikake and togarashi for a little extra spice. Love it! read more

Bayside Poke - Poke Near Me - Newark, California

The fishes are fresh and the portion is perfect. The price is average for a poke restaurant so that's good. Some places are overpriced and they give you small amounts of fish. The sauces are good and pretty standard. Overall this place is not that unique but is good and people working there are friendly. I eat here at least once a month with my wife and will definitely recommend it to others. read more

I ordered a large (4 scoops) on their website online for pickup. There was NOT 4 scoops of fish. Maybe 2 scoops max. The bowl was filled almost to the top with rice and the fish was spread thinly over half. All the toppings made up the rest of the bowl giving the appearance of a large portion but was totally skimped. I don't know if this is a general practice to skimp on the online/pick up orders but my order was completely inadequate. read more

I've used Yelp for a long time and while it is not always 100% accurate, the ratings usually give a general idea of how good or bad a place is. Unfortunately, my experience of the food here was wildly off from expectations given the positive reviews. I ordered two "customize your bowl" pokes with varying combinations of salmon, tuna, and yellow tail. Portion size for the 3-scoops bowl was mediocre, while the 4-scoops bowl was surprisingly much larger (and used a physically larger container), even though there was only a $2 difference in price between the two. I would say that strictly in terms of portion size, 4-scoops is a good price for the amount you get. However, the fish...ranged from mediocre to bad. I would give the salmon barely a passing grade, helped by the fact that salmon is usually the easiest to get right. It was not fresh by any means but I did find it satisfactory. The tuna was similar, but I could taste it starting to go bad. The yellowtail was mostly inedible. I had to throw out most of the pieces after biting into it because it tasted spoiled. The sushi rice that we ordered was also slightly undercooked, which did not make for a good overall experience given the condition of the fish. I do hope that I just got unlucky with the lack of freshness with the fish and undercooked rice, given other peoples' rave reviews especially with fish freshness, but if QC and consistency can be this variable, I will not be returning here again. read more

Update: ate here recently. Quality went down, price went up. Stale garlic chips and toppings. Quality of fish tasted bad, had to spit it out. Hope I don't get food poisoning. Will not return, too bad bc I liked this place first time around. read more

First time in here today at lunchtime with my wife. We found that the vegetarian option was pretty legit, which can be a gamble with most poke places. Their tofu seemed to be marinated and grilled, giving it actual flavor and an interesting meaty texture. That extra touch was nice, as opposed to how most places just cut up raw tofu and call it a day. My only real gripe was the music. While we ate, at least 2 songs played with really sexually explicit lyrics (as in, blatant mentions of specific acts with words that would absolutely be bleeped on the radio/tv). One mentioned the "N" word. We are no prudes by any means, but we felt really uncomfortable being in that environment while we were just trying to sit and eat our lunch...at noon on a Saturday, with kids in the restaurant, no less. I have no problem with people listening to that music privately, but having it blaring here kind of ruined the experience. read more

I LOVE POKE! I've been coming here very often since it's closest poke place to me and I am obsessed with raw fish, thus, I really like it! The fish comes in huge chunks which is an A+ and the rice is served hot. yum! One of the things that make it different from other poke places is the option of marinated tuna. I absolutely loooove the marinated tuna!!! I only know one other place that offers it yet, it comes pricey so knowing this place also offers it makes me really happy since it's more affordable~ There is also hot cheetos as a topping option haha The only con I would say would be the texture of the salmon...I don't know if it's just me but it tastes a little too soft? Not sure if it is because the protein is kept at room-ish temperature or what. I have not stumbled onto any problem with this though other than my texture preference. I'm a huge salmon lover so I'll let it slide. Overall, would highly recommend the marinated tuna and tuna!! read more

The food tasted good but the portion sizes, even for the large bowl, were tiny. Compared to other poke places, this large bowl seemed like half of a regular bowl at best. I think it would be best to go to another place for poke if you want more food. read more

Thought I was going to be the first review as I've been patiently waiting for their grand reveal getting my usual Gongcha fixes in the plaza, but I guess my tongue wasn't the only one woo-ed. That doesn't come as a surprise! What really sets this joint apart is their garlic chips and SPICE DROPS! I only know one other restaurant in the bay that offers this capsician enchancer for customers and it is a favorite. I hope the owners overheard my screams of sheer, utter joy when I discovered this in the step process of creating my own bowl. Please keep it coming!! Because if it is there, I am there.. lol. I know they offer spam musubi which is a snack I'm always down for. What they also bring to the table is cooked sake-don, which will also be very kid-friendly and an option just as yummy in equivalent for those who don't like or are unable to digest raw fish! The staff is friendly, the fish is fresh, the interior is polished, and that makes me one happy customer! I'm usually visiting relatives around the area so I can't wait to bring them. I'm already planning my next visit and I'm ready to claim my reign as Yelp dutchess ;-) read more

By far one of the best poke places I have ever been to. Fish was fresh and delicious. Sushi rice was great. There were an abundance of toppings. Large poke bowl was about $12 and it did not disappoint. Ordered sushi rice, Tuna and yellow tail (4 scoops, really fresh fish). Yummy crab salad. Tons of sauces to add to your bowl. My favorite sauce was probably the wasabi mayo. I love the garlic chips and hot cheeto toppings. Simple but amazing! Definitely recommend this place if you are in Newark. Also definitely worth a drive! read more

I was unsatisfied with the poke places around my area so I decided to check out Bayside Poke. This place hands down, is my go to spot from now on. The fish was amazingly fresh, sauce was on point, and there was a variety of toppings. Try it, you won't regret it! Trust, I am very "picky" with my poke bowl. That's coming from someone who has worked at a poke place before. read more

Had higher hopes, just didn't cut it. Was in the mood for poke, decided to give this place a shot. Standard format, rice or salad based, choice of protein and toppings/sauce. The single scoop of protein is extremely tiny. Although you get three, it simply isn't enough nor is it comparable to other poke locations out there that give more for your money, same quality if not better. Simply put, there wasn't anything definitive or memorable of the taste nor experience. Sad but true. Workers were nice, no complaints here. Would rather go for poke house for the price and taste. read more

Popped in for lunch, great Poke, very clean and very friendly people! Very enjoyable, you should try it soon... New business Fremontians should support! read more

I would say this is probably my new go to poke place from now on. They have a really good assortment of toppings and sauces. I secretly give bonus points to any place that has mangoes They also have crushed hot Cheetos, fried garlic and all sorts of crunchy additions to your poke. Fish chunks are HUGE and they're not afraid to share. Staff was friendly so that was a great plus side However the one thing I would stay away from is their marinated tuna, they used a bad cut of the fish so it was too sinewy and unpleasant for eating read more

Love so many choices. Tuna salmon and crab salad delicious Very tasty well worth the drive.

Food is tasty. Been ordering poke from here for years. As like other people mentioned in recent reviews, the portions have gotten smaller. Barely got any fish.. like only one scoop the last time I ordered. Hopefully they are more consistent and that this was a one off as I loved ordering poke here. Hate to have to find another poke place. read more

I had the Bayside Bowl as well as Poké Nachos. Poké Bowl My base was rice. Fish wasn't slimy at all. I've had bad poke bowls before and this was way above average. They gave a good amount of fish and toppings. When I get their bowl again, the first thing I'd change is adding ungai sauce or the furikake on top of the rice before anything else is added. The Nachos First sign that I was going to like it was that they used wonton chips instead of packaged tortilla chips, but some chips were too thin to handle anything on top of it. That didn't put me off. They really pack the toppings on top of the chips. If I could put the toppings and sauces in a separate bowl, I'll do that next time. I'd pay extra for that too. All in all everything was good. read more

WHAT?! NEWARK IS MOVING ON UP!!!! And this poke place is SO GOOD!!!! I'm so glad we kicking off the poke trend with a true gem. I went during the soft opening twice! Everyone was getting in the swing of things but that did not take away from the service. The poke is one of my favorites (and I've had a bunch) and the thing that sets it above all other is the in-house GARLIC CHIPS. I asked where they got them and they told me that they made them because the store bought ones weren't up to par. DANG! I wanted to get those bad boys to put on all of my foods. I promptly went online to find the methods of making said chips. Fish was fresh and the sauces were complementary to the proteins. I think sometimes, poke places can be pretty heavy handed with their sauces but this place gives the right amount. Spam masubi was good too. Made me reevaluate my own spam masubi, i hope to get to their level one day. read more

There's hella poke places opening up everywhere, but this place is in my top 3 that I've tried. I got a small bowl with half mixed greens and half rice. The fish tasted really fresh. Sauce flavors were well-balanced. Their ponzu sauce was bomb. For the spicy lovers, they have hot cheetos crumbs and hot drops that you can add to the bowl. My favorite topping at poke places is seaweed salad, and this one was tasty and free. Crab salad was also free. I'll definitely be back! read more

The best poke spot I've ever had. Yep, I said it. THE BEST. I'm a San Jose native, moved out of state and now back in the bay for the holidays... I knew I needed to make the drive out when I heard a new poke place was opening up. THIS PLACE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! I got their special... the poke nachos. It's LOADED with fish and their toppings are better than your average. Don't miss out on their garlic chips and don't forget to ask for hot drops if you like it spicy. The customer service is excellent... attentive workers and a great owner who openly loves to hear your feedback and wants to make sure your poke experience is outstanding. Support your small business owners! Make sure to stop by if you're in the Newark area or are willing to make a drive for the best poke spot in the bay right now! read more

Not even a one star. Super stingy with the portions. 2-3 pieces of shrimp on a regular bowl. I mean common. Give bigger portions. The food was good but the customer service was not there. Sorry. read more

Really good salmon poke bowl! I highly recommend. I enjoy how they put so much inside of your bowl. Staff is also very friendly. Also, if you check in they give you a scoop of avocado. Also, it is spotless. Having a clean area is important to me, and bayside is definitely clean read more

Yay! I am SO excited that there is a good poke place in Newark now! All my poke cravings are such a short distance away from the office. If they start accepting DoorDash, I may be doomed. The staff here is really friendly and helpful with all your questions. Their chili oil is NO JOKE. I LOVE IT SO MUCH! The poke is nice and fresh, and the portions are oh so generous. Their toppings are great too! The garlic chips are great for returning to the office. They even have spam musubi! I will be back! read more

The best poke I've ever had! The fish is so fresh with plenty of toppings to choose from. The employees, especially the owner Jack are so courteous and work so quick. I am very impressed with the bowl I just picked up from Bayside Poke. The portions are huge, the ingredients fresh and the service super fast! Almost too fast... I ordered online and they told me it would be ready to pickup in 30 minutes and I got a text 5 minutes later saying it was ready. I doubt I will ever go back to Sunfish in spite of my points being close to a free bowl and the proximity to work! read more

Just average poke. Nothing special, and my bowl was flavorless considering how much wasabi and sauces I requested. I'm not sure if it was because I made a doordash order and they don't care about doordash food quality. Poke isn't that hard to make, yet it was still disappointing. I was expecting a better poke bowl, however instead received the blandest poke i've ever had in my life. Highkey disappointed, because I thought that I'd have a better experience. read more

Good but not great. Came here on Friday before 2PM and there was no line which is always nice. The selection was good and even offer Hot Cheetos.. I know right wtf. Anyways I got the regular size bowl which was all I needed for my huge appetite. Although, it was tasty but I couldnt help to notice the salmon seems soft, and parts were extra chewy. The brown rice was slightly undercooked but overall I was satisfied. I still prefer Sunfish Poke(best poke in tri-city). If they fix these small issues Sunfish will have good competition. read more

Bayside Poke - Gross - Poke Near Me - Newark, California

This place is good but not the best poke I've had. Although, their hot Cheeto topping was really good.

Very typical Poke restaurant. Create your own bowl, protein basics (tuna, salmon, yellowtail), starch component (rice, brown rice, leafy greens), usual topping you would find at other poke joints too. I really enjoyed their lemongrass ponzu. It's very unique and has a refreshing, light taste compared to most Cream based sauces you find at Poke joints. They had hot Cheetos as a topping which is cool. No my preference so I didn't put any on, but out there to let people know. They even sell thermal water bottles that's all the rage now with their logo on it. Would've bought it if I didn't have 4 already. Located between Stevenson and Mowry on the East side. It's in a new plaza where there's boba too read more
