    Hotate Nigiri

Service was okay, it was a bit difficult to get the servers' attention. The food came out pretty quick as well which was great. The hotate nigiri was really good and super fresh, I would honestly come back just for this. The other rolls we got were also pretty good, but the rice to fish ratio was a little off. We gotta come back to try the katsu!

I'm Korean, and I was so happy to be able to eat authentic Korean-style pork cutlet here--it tasted just like the kind you get in Korea. The meat was very tender, and the sauce was exactly like traditional Korean tonkatsu sauce. My child absolutely loved the cheese tonkatsu. We also had the seafood udon, which was not salty at all and had plenty of seafood. Everything was delicious. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal!

Nice vibe, quick service, friendly staffs. Sushi is decent. Rainbow rolls - various type of raw fish sushi golden gate - salmon and yellow tail, both were awesomely fresh. vege lover: delicious and refreshing rolls with the japanese pickles. green salad: nice.

So I am kind of a reg at their original location (closer to home) and even updated my reviews for that location to a fiver. Finally tried this second location (twice) within the past 3 months and think a review can be whipped up. Now this spot had been a sushi spot before that I had tried, but first time trying this location as a Satomi. I think I like the interior of the older one better, more neighborly. This one has super high industrial ceilings so it has a colder feel. And for the space it seems they could jam in a few more tables, but they probably don't want to bring on more staff to accommodate higher volume. I've pretty much seen the same staff on both outings and both times have been friendly and fast. Negihama Roll ($8/4*) Very tightly rolled and a little on the petite side. Solid flavors and textures tho from the fresh hamachi to the rice to the crisp nori and hits of green onion. This is probably my favorite simple roll right up there with a Tekka Maki. Saba Shioyaki ($19/4*) I love the one at the other location, and I think they do a slightly better job there. This one was just okay. This one also has more bones, which I don't get at the other one. Hamachi Kama ($17/4*) Properly char grilled and piping hot as it arrives. Nice big collar too and the meat pulls off easily off the bones. Just think it could have been seasoned a bit more as it was kinda bland. They give like a ponzu sauce but I'm not a huge sauce person, just like nice salty bites with charred meats...then a sip of beer. Juno Roll ($15/4*) I usually don't order big ass rolls but I will try a few pieces if someone else orders it. This actually wasn't bad but definitely a tad too busy for me. Tempura shrimp in the middle, then covered with sushi rice, cucumbers and spicy tuna. That would have been enough for me, but then the remainder of roll is topped with raw fishes like salmon and tuna and topped with a chili sauce and slice jalapeno. Actually since this is a Korean owned sushi spot, they actually rock an above average selection of spicy type of sushi rolls. If you are into that sort of thing, you now know where to head to. This roll wasn't hot by any means, but it definitely has a kick. Now I wouldn't want to eat a whole roll to myself but to a eat a few pieces, I would not resist. Still have to try a chirashi bowl here but now knowing that I can trust them, will make it much easier for me to give them that whirl.

We have been to Satomi several times and finally writing a review. This time we came for an early dinner to celebrate a special occasion. We were greeted at the door and seated right away. Once seated we were provided menus and miso soup. Service is always outstanding. This location has easy access and ample parking. We ordered: Chicken teriyaki bento, Cherry Blossom roll, Dragon roll, Crazy roll, and Crunchy roll. The sushi came out fresh and delicious. This is one of the best sushi restaurants in Fremont and we feel the prices are reasonable. It's a good place for dinner with family and friends.

The waitress gave a kind greeting upon entering and gentleman behind the bar suggested sitting in further to keep cool. The tempura was perfectly cooked, the sauce was decent, the Katsu came with a TON of chicken ( we could have shared it). The price point for the bbq ribs was a little high (picture reflects all the pieces- see orange for scale). They had a good variety of sake, wines, and beers. TV screens over the bar were sports without sound. Pop music was playing low. Ample parking so you can just pull up and walk in. Cindy is a great waitress and assest to this establishment.

A must go to spot if you're craving a bento box for dinner... teriyaki chicken and salmon are my favorites. Healthy portions, soup tastes great and salad had good dressing. They give you a lot of crispy tempura also. Quick service and is never busy on weekdays!!

This place has changed ever since COVID happened. I came back and love the food here! The service can be slow due to the preparation of the food, but the staff are friendly. Definitely coming back here again!

Came here for my friend's graduation dinner. The staff are super friendly. Food was good. I wish there were more of an upgraded menu. By far, their chicken teriyaki was so good compared to other places I've been to. The rolls were flavorful. Restaurant was clean and organized. Parking was easy!

This was my first experience with SOHO MJ and while I didn't exactly know what to expect, I left quite impressed. First and foremost, I believe dinner offerings are only going to be the pre-fixed tasting menu. [[someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong]] While there is a signature menu and brunch menu listed on the website, none of the items were able to be ordered ala carte during our visit. Dinner consisted of 2 different tasting menus: Classic + Premium. The third menu was a long list of signature cocktails. Let me start off with saying how delicious SOHO's cocktails are. On the list of 11 offerings, here is what we actually tried: *SMOKE & HI *PINK SUNSET *SOHO 75 *TOKYO MULE *PEACH RICKEY *BLUSHING BAE All were great in their own way and there wasn't a single disappointment for our entire group. I believe the 8 of us all went with the classic tasting menu, 1 adding the caviar to their purchase. Food presentation was A1 and although the bites were extremely small [[ i openly admit that i am a BIG BIG eater, with quite an appetite]] everything was so good. A few personal highlights were the temaki, abalone steamed egg custard, and the assortment of nigiri. I must say, dessert was trash. The lemon vanilla custard had no lemon flavoring to it- no citrus of any kind. This was the only thing that wasn't consumed. All in all, 5 stars. It was such a fun night celebrating the Birthday Bae and the food was awesome.

We wanted to order 9pc sashimi but didn't eat other items that come with it since we ordered our own lunch specials. It's just too many food. From our lunch specials, they not only come with rice and a side but other items like tofu. That's unusual for a Japanese restaurant to serve but it adds a unique touch. The food is actually good though, but I believe that the representations of our meals should improve a bit since they kinda look like something you can get from a grocery at the hot meals section. Also, the lunch plates are too big that we can't fit everything. Therefore, we decided to ask the staff to remove anything that comes with a sashimi.
