I ordered through Uber Eats and I didn't regret ordering the Bayside Poke with half salad and half brown rice. Everything was still fresh through delivery but I did regret ordering their spam musubi. This is definitely one of my go to spots when I'm ever in the Fremont area for Poke! I love the service, I love the fresh fish, and I love how easy it is to order from here. When you walk in, they have a big sign that says how to order in terms of steps, any specials they have, and also a big sign that says, "We can't poke without you"...how cute is that? This poke place does offer a variety of fresh fish such as tuna, salmon, yellow tail, octopus, and marinated tuna. What I love about this place is when they grab the seafood for your poke, they give a generous amount (yay!). You can also add in onions, tofu, and crab salad. For sauces they have a huge variety such as shoyu, lemon grass ponzu, spicy mayo, sesame oil, etc. You are allowed to mix the sauces too if you wanted to not just have one. A unique thing about this place is they have this hot sauce and if you wanted to add it in you can! Just let them know if you want 1 drop, 2 drops, 3 drops, etc. I usually get 1 drop and that right there makes it spicy enough. In terms of their toppings they have a lot to choose from similar to other poke places. You can top off your poke with furikake, sesame seeds, togarashi and even cheetos! This review is long overdue but I consider this place to be one of my favorite poké spots in the East Bay. Bayside Poké is located in a small shopping center near Newpark Mall. The fish and other portions available to add on are so fresh and flavorful. There are options to add on such as the salmon, crab salad, tuna, seaweed, avocado ($1 extra), pineapple, edamame, masago, spicy Mayo, ponzu, house dressing and a variety of others. The salmon is personally my favorite and I normally order extra salmon. One interesting option I found there and it never crossed my mind to add this on to my bowl were the crushed hot Cheetos. I decided to give it a try and surprisingly it tasted so delicious that I will definitely keep doing this in the future. The staff are very friendly! If you believe that you were served a small portion of salmon, for example, and you politely ask for a bit more, the staff are kind of enough to do as you requested. You really get your money's worth at this place! Also, COVID precautions and safety are enforced (masks on, no indoor or outdoor dining, social distancing, etc.). I highly recommend Bayside Poké if you're ever in the mood for some delicious poke or some fish. read more

I have a hard time trying new places after I've found my go-to for a specific type of food. With the onset of the poke bowl fad, I've found most places lacking, especially at the standard price point of $12-$15. However I had a particular hankering when I was close by to Bayside and decide to give them a shot. Tbh the deciding factor was the hot Cheetos topping so hats off to whoever made the decision for that niche. Service was pretty good, I arrived there an hour or so after the lunch rush. I usually get salmon and yellowtail and the fish was very fresh. IMO the thing that sets poke bowl places apart besides that is the topping selection. They don't have Japanese pickles or some of the more interesting ones I can find at other places but they have furikake, fried onions, and of course the hot Cheetos. The other offerings like edamame and seaweed salad were pretty good but the edamame was a little tough. Overall it's a good spot for some poke. They have good sauces and a solid selection to build a nice bowl. I can see myself coming back here. read more

He had bleached blonde hair. He was very helpful customer service wise. Unfortunately, when I went home to eat my Poké bowl there was a huge black Plastic piece in my Poké bow (see the picture). I tried to call and speak to a manager. There was never one present. When I asked the blonde gentleman for his name, he would not give it to me, even though he just served me in person. It's very disappointing to find crazy stuff in your food when you've already eaten some of it. I wish they would take the time to serve fresh items and look through their food ordered . Just recently moved here and I knew I was going to miss my local Ahi Poki spot back in the SGV. I'm so glad I was able to find a replacement locally! The portions are fair and the price is UNBEATABLE. The rice and greens are always fresh and the employees are always friendly. One thing about poki spots is that they're ALWAYS WARM INISDE. Soon as you walk in it's stuffy and it's because the owner is trying to cut down costs on the a/c and keeping the fridges running to keep the ingredients fresh, but not this place!! This place feels cool as you walk in and very comfortable enough to sit down and have your meal. The spam mesubis are great too! I think they blanch them because they're not super salty even though they cook them with their own sauce! Anyways, I love this place and I will always frequent it. Bayside Poke is prob one of the better poke places I've had in a really long time. I think it definitely deserves more attention. For me personally, the poke hype died down and I didn't have much expectations for this place bc I wasn't super interested in poke like I used to be but I was pleasantly surprised. My friend and I came in at around 2pm. We ordered right away. I got a regular bowl which comes with 3 scoops of fish. They didn't have spicy tuna which is one of my favorites but it was ok. They have the main popular fishes which is fine. They have a ton of toppings and I got majority of them. If you check in on yelp you can get a free scoop of avocado. Free crab salad and seaweed salad ah!!! The person who served us gave us VERY GENEROUS amounts of everything. The dry toppings at the end were definitely amazing. The hot cheetos were actually mashed into fine dust and didn't resemble the last leftover bits of the hot cheetos in the bag which I really liked. Fried garlic was so good. It totaled to $11.52 which was definitely worth it for the amount I was getting. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Definitely will be back. read more

This is go-to poke place during work lunch hours. I always go during off-peak hours so it's never crowded and service is quick. They have all the typical toppings and sauces you'd expect a poke place to have, but it's really all about the fish quality that makes a poke place to me. Fish quality is good and I love that they offer marinated tuna! I think that's how OG Hawaiian poke is supposed to be done and having that option is nice. Yelped and this place popped up with the most stars ..the stars were well deserved...the protein (we had the tuna, salmon and shrimp) were fresh, and so were the veggies and fruits. Maybe when the idea first popped up, there weren't that many options and the ones around we're just okay so it never really made a good impression on me. Well, here I am at day 2 of my diet so poke bowl it is! Came here given the high ratings and 3 proteins seemed like more than usual so we decided to come here. The place has a good amount of seating and is pretty clean, new spot. I made a custom bowl, but there are premade signature ones you can pick from if you don't feel like building your own. The fish was pretty fresh. I liked how they had regular tuna and marinated tuna. Ofc I opted for the marinated one which was good. You get unlimited toppings. They had a lot of choices. They do charge extra for the crab salad which I added. With yelp check in, you get a free scoop of avocado which was a nice add. I chose the lemongrass ponzu, but didn't really taste the lemongrass. I purposely drive over to Newark to get my poke here. I usually get brown rice with salmon, marinated tuna, and hamachi as my proteins. Then I go ham on the toppings. I think if you want an additional scoop of crab salad, there's a charge, but 1 scoop is good enough for me. As for sauces, I love unagi and ponzu. There's a few "dry" toppings at the end, including hot cheetos powder (I have not tried this yet...). Can't go wrong here. I am writing this to share my feedback on the bowl that I got today. I notice that management is active on their Yelp page, so that is great. Customer Service: 5/5 As soon as I walked in, the gal stopped what she was doing to greet me and help me with my order. She was super friendly, and efficient, and I appreciate that. Cleanliness: 5/5 Price: 5/5 $20 for a large bowl is reasonable. (I paid extra for a scoop of avocado) Quality of food: 3/5 My rice was dry, and did not taste like sushi rice as advertised. It was plain rice. I got the unagi, and shoyu sauce and they both tasted and looked diluted. While the fish was fresh, I had to pull out 2 bones. I get it, accidents happen. Despite the great customer service, cleanliness of the place and fair price, I was a bit disappointed with the food. I hope that this is just an anomaly and that I came on a bad day. I was so stuffed on a regular bowl but during the lunch time hours this place can get very packed! HOT CHEETOS- I put that on everything, even my Poké! This place offers such unique toppings: hot Cheetos, Garashi, fried garlic, sesame seeds, onions, etc! The crab meat is also complimentary! The food: I ordered a regular bowl with marinated tuna and salmon. The salmon is DIVINE and tastes super fresh. The marinated tuna wasn't as good because I could not taste the soy marinade or the fat of the tuna. However, the seaweed salad makes up for it! The salad was crunchy and there was no fishy taste like it's been sitting out for a long time. Go for the mayo sauce they offer here- it's creamy and mixes well with the ingredients and sauce. I wish the bowl was balanced with more rice, but I can't say no to extra fish. The interior: Simple chairs and high bar. There is plenty of space and it was pretty empty around lunch time. This Poke place is veryyy mediocre, and way pricier than I expected! My regular poke bowl was about $16-$17ish, which shocked me when I was paying. The portion size wasn't super big so I asked to make sure that I was hearing the cashier right since I didn't have add ons that costed more money. I believe a regular is $15 and a large is $17? My main issue with this place was that the rice was hard. Like chunks of rice were stuck together and it tasted and felt like rice that was left out overnight. I know sushi rice can be on the harder side but my sister and I both had a bowl and both tasted that the rice just wasn't fresh. They had hot cheetos as one of the toppings which was cool though.
