Was craving sushi so decided to dine in here, I got the red dragon roll which has eel topped with tuna. Great roll, and they also gave tasty miso soup on the side! Service was good too.

I came here on a random Saturday afternoon for my niece and nephews. There is hella parking, but we came an hour before they closed for lunch. They were super accommodating especially with three kids. LOL. We ended up ordering california rolls and a few roe nigiri. They gave us free miso which was good. The restaurant was a little dark, but clean. They made my experience good, but being patient and accommodating.

Unfortunately, Satomi Sushi does not taste like it used to. I was extremely disappointed in the quality.... There was quite a wait to be seated, so I was excited to eat at a place I once loved! But food was not fresh... And they were really busy for a weekday, where we constantly had to flag a staff down for tea or ginger. I don't quite see myself coming back to this establishment anymore.

Service is great Ambience- family home style Food- unbelievably good I see why this place is so popular Staff is friendly even when they are so busy. They even have times to check on your needs Everything we ordered were fresh and meet expectations. Uni melts in your mouth The rice is the roll has the right ratio portion to the proteins. The sashimis were fresh. Great char on the Kama. They even have a reward card system . The more you order the more freebies you get.

We ordered unagi nigiri, Gansta roll, hamachi sashimi, fried soft shell crab. I liked the fried soft shell crab. Everything else was just okay. The waitress was curt and not too friendly.

Honestly a bit disappointed with this location. They forgot to make our sushi rolls and there was a bit of a language barrier and they gave us the dinner platter vs the one that did not come with rice. The thing that bothered us was that the server seemed to try to blame us for it. We pointed it out after we ate because we didn't want any trouble and informed them that it was a little disapppinting and the lady kept telling us that it was what we ordered and that the sushi rolls, altho late... "eventually" came. The reason why we pointed it out was to help them improve their service, make sure orders are coming in and to clarify with the customer next time... we were going to pay for it anyways since we ate and all but we just wanted to make sure they knew that something was wrong with their service. After a lot of back and forth, the server felt bad and offered to lower our bill by a little bit which we appreciated. I would honestly give a lower rating if not for the consideration. I don't think I'll visit this location anymore tho as the other one had better service. Food all-in-all was great tho.

I really love this place. I was in the area for a doctor's visit and needed to charge my car. I was quite hungry and located this sushi spot walking distance from charging. What a find--thank you Yelp! app. I walked in and was greeted warmly by the 2 sushi chefs and the server. I grabbed a seat in the window and made my decisions. --hamachi sashimi --mixed tempura --small hot sake The server brought me a hot miso soup and my sake with a smile. The miso soup was so delicious with a hint of fresh scallions. But, I cannot get too full, I want my sashimi and tempura. The rest of the order arrived with a chef surprise--beautifully crafted sashimi with jalapeño and the yummy tempura on the side. I had to lightly shout across the dinning room to the chef, thanking him for my special lunch. This sushi spot might be a little far from home, but I'm coming back! Not only is the staff super kind, the fish is so fresh, juicy and tasty. I feel like they just caught this hamachi--it's that delicious. I highly recommend this place--5 STAR REVIEW!!!

SIXTH FRIDAY OF LENT: NIGIRI & ROLLS Two Fridays ago I ate fish and chips. I wanted to try something different. I remember coming to Satomi Sushi in the past. One of the items I ordered was the sashimi. I remember the inside of this restaurant was cramped. As I entered the restaurant I was amazed there was more space. When I go to sushi bars my friends and relatives order the rolls; I prefer the nigiri. Since I was having lunch by myself I didn't have to worry about the rolls. I ordered three types of nigiri: salmon, smoked salmon, and unagi. I also ordered a yellow tail roll. Out of the two salmon nigiris I preferred the smoked salmon as the savory flavor complimented better with the sweet rice. I also liked the unagi roll as it had a sweet, meaty texture. The yellow tail roll was delicious, but nothing spectacular. I thought I was going to be full after eating the nigiri and roll however I wanted to order more. I thought about ordering more items from the nigiri section as I was thinking about getting the shrimp tempura roll and vegetable tempura roll. Then I look at the Satomi Rolls Section. I ordered the tempura roll, which included shrimp and vegetable. When I go to an eatery I order items with the name of the restaurant as that is its specialty. The other roll I ordered was the Satomi Roll, which is a deep-fried California Roll. When it comes to ordering rolls I always order a tempura roll because of the different textures of crunchiness and softness. By ordering the tempura roll it saved me money then ordering a shrimp tempura roll and vegetable roll separately. The tempura roll was tasty, but the surprise was the Satomi Roll. The outside was lightly breaded. There was an outside crust that contrasted with the California Roll. I tend to dislike California Roll as I find that roll too heavy. Due to the sauce and breading the Satomi Roll made the California Roll hearty. After eating the nigiris and rolls I was full. One thing I noticed I wasn't feeling queasy. Sometimes when I go to a sushi bar I get bloated. Even though I was full for my lunch at Satomi Sushi I didn't feel overly stuffed. A good sign of a sushi is the rice first not the fish. The rice at Satomi Sushi was light. One thing I recalled was the nigiri as the portion of the rice didn't overwhelm the slices of the fish. Hence when I was eating the nigiri it wasn't heavy. I can see myself coming back to Satomi Sushi again. I'll order a couple of new items from nigiri. I also order a new roll such as the Giants and Mango Paradise. My go to roll would be the Satomi Roll.

Satomi Sushi is one of my favorite sushi spots in the area despite the farther location and limited (also smaller) parking spots in the complex. The menu offers a decent variety of rolls, bento boxes, entrees and sashimi. My favorites are the bento boxes and the sushi combination. All the bento boxes come with salad, rice, and CA rolls along with your choice of meat. So far, the meats we've ordered have been flavorful and grilled to perfection. The sushi combo comes with 8 pieces of CA rolls and 8 sushi rolls (chef's choice). The fish is fresh and their portion size is generous! Staff is attentive and prices are pretty reasonable. The restaurant is pretty big, so we usually don't have to wait long/if at all for a table.

This is probably my favoritest sushi restaurant ever. Everything is fairly priced, sushi & service is always good & they offer a ton of dessers.

Great prices, friendly and attentive staff, wonderful tasting rolls. Overall we would love to come back here as everything here was great. They started us with some miso soup and quickly got us through our orders. We ordered the Spicy Juno, Golden Gate, and a Philadelphia roll. All nice and firm fish with fresh taste. They filled our waters so quickly and were very friendly. The ambiance of this place was very chill with lots of cute and cool posters. Overall, I'd come back again if I'm in the area!

It's time to update my review of the original location of Satomi after nine years. I love the ambiance and restaurant here better than the one on Mowry for some reason. The decor and set up is nicer. It can be for a romantic dinner, too. We used to come here for years until Covid hit and they limited seating then made it for togo only. The only thing that sucks here is their parking lot situation. It's small spaces and limited as it's shared with other restaurants so it's always full but good there is street parking. Customer service is always on point. Very friendly and attentive. The last server who helped us was a guy named Jin I believe based on the receipt. He was good. We usually order Asahi beer. You get miso soup for free each. Usually, I get their hot sake. We tend to order their Greg's Roll to share which is super huge that would probably fit two-three people if shared. We ordered their bento beef box with Salmon Sashimi. I love their salad dressing. Tempura is good. Their wasabi is spicy. Sometimes, I would get the bento with gyoza which is good here, too. Their beef is the best but chicken and Salmon Teriyaki is goood, too. Lots of their rolls here are good, too. My fave dessert here is the mango pancotta; A must! Will be back that the restaurant is open for seating. Totally recommend this place. [79R,2023]

I moved out towards…read morethis neck of the words and was searchin' searchin' searchin', and my thirsty heart led me to here! --- F O O D & D R I N K S --- The first drink I had at Qamaria was the Pistachio Latte with oatmilk and--whew! Easily the best pistachio latte I've ever had. The pistachio flavor tastes rich and legit without being overly sweet or covering up the coffee. A lot of pistachio drinks at other spots taste like artificial syrup, but this one is smooth, balanced, and actually complements the espresso. I also love seeing that deep green color in the clear cups--it just looks so aesthetic and makes the drink feel even more authentic. Honestly, 9 out of 10 times, this is what I'm ordering. If it's your first time here, PLEASE get it. Thankfully my husband is always down to be adventurous and order something different so we can still guarantee at least one pistachio latte on the table lol. His go-to is the Qamaria Latte with oatmilk, sometimes with cold foam. It sounds simple--espresso, steamed milk, cardamom, and cinnamon-but it tastes like comfort in a cup. The cardamom and cinnamon make it feel warm, cozy, and layered without punching you in the face with sugar. Nothing tastes artificial here. Everything feels intentional and made with care. Also, whether you dine in or take it to-go, the drinks always look cute. I LOVE the dine-in presentation though. The iced drinks come in clear glass cups so you can see all the layers, and the hot drinks come in these thick ceramic mugs that make the experience feel extra cozy. And I'm such a sucker for their tray setup too--everything matches the aesthetic so well and makes coffee dates here feel extra special. And don't even get me started on the milk cakes because they are dangerously good. My fave is the Biscoff milk cake. It's super soft, creamy, rich, and has the perfect caramelized cookie flavor without being too sweet. It paired sooo well with the warm spices in the coffee. _______________________________________________________ --- S E R V I C E --- Each barista I ever had was kind and super chill. I never felt rushed and they took their time answering questions. It sounds pretty simple but I feel like even with how busy it can get, they pace themselves accordingly behind the counter so that they are intentional and patient with their customers, and work in a consistent pace that gets drinks done in time and hands them off with care. Very contrast to a cafe where baristas are working so fast-paced that their interactions are short and it feels like that they just want to get the drink over with and passed off to the customer. It all goes back to Qamaria's baristas being intentional with the way that they work. Keep doin' your thing y'all. Love the flow. _______________________________________________________ --- A M B I A N C E -- It's funny because the first time my husband and I pulled up was after dinner on a Friday night. He was feenin' for coffee and was like, "What's even open this late?" Yoooo, finding out Qamaria Yemeni Coffee was open until 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays instantly made us happy because now we got a late-night spot whenever the cravings hit. Most nights they're open until midnight too, which is dangerous lol. And let me tell you... this place gets CRACKIN'. We came around 10:30 PM and the line was out the door, but I'm so glad we stayed because the drinks changed our life. Even on a random weekday when I met up with a homegirl, we looked up from yappin' for hours and suddenly the line was wrapped outside again. Trust--it's worth the wait. The inside is warm, modern, and culturally rich without feeling forced or overly trendy. The arches, lighting, patterned seating, earthy tones, and artwork make the whole space feel cozy and intentional. Even when it's packed, it still feels welcoming and communal--honestly just proof this is THE spot to be no matter the time of day. People are studying, catching up with friends and fam, working, or just vibing over coffee, and it somehow all works together perfectly. It's the type of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile instead of grabbing your drink and leaving. P.S. Keep an ear out for some Arabic covers of hip hop and pop songs! So much fun to come across as you're doin' ya thang.

Unfortunately as I was trying to get my drink into the container and into my bag, I lightly squeezed the container and the lid popped off and the drink spilled all over my bag. *Sigh* Oh well. But it wasn't too much lost still be careful with strong holding the drink as the lids pop off. I wish they sealed their drinks which I feel like they did before. Generally we end up leaving after ordering. Seating is offered and shared by the other restaurants there. It's definitely a cafeteria/food court like vibe. We'll likely be back as usual but it was a nice little change in terms of which drink I got and I would definitely get it again...maybe not with mochi.

Of course husband last minute says day of birthday celebration that we need a cake. Found Izumi…read moreCakes on Yelp and was bummed at first because the soonest online reservation for a cake would be two days later. Husband called them around 11am and they said they were in the middle of making their strawberry cakes so they could add our order in for a same day pickup at 4pm. Pickup went well and the cake was so cute and it tasted great! Like the Chinese bakery strawberry cream cake with a moist sponge cake; not too sweet, just right. Might sound basic but it was done very well. Would 100% recommend. I don't know prices for cakes nowadays but I didn't feel bad paying about $60 for a cute and tasty cake (6", strawberry cream cake). I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. I'm very thankful for their service!

My sister stumbled across Izumi Cakes while she was looking for something to celebrate our matcha…read moreloving cousin. Izumi seemed perfect given the fact that there are a good variation of sizes that could be bought. Not everyone is a matcha lover and our family tends to gravitate away from cakes, we appreciated the smaller options. The Kyoto Matcha was purchased. The design was simply but had a slightly fancy feel to it- exactly what we were hoping for! There was strong scent of matcha coming from the top drip design and we couldn't be more excited for our matcha bae. Fast Forward: The cake is super soft, fluffy, and oh so very light. The cake in itself was not super sweet- very typical of Asian cakes. The matcha flavor was unfortunately too mellow for us. 3 stars for the cake in itself but the rating is bumped up to a 4 because the presentation is so cute! Matcha wasn't what we were looking for but we may be inclined to try other flavors in the future.
