Bleh! This place is SO tasty but I just got turned the hell off! I pulled up today, 04-20-21 @ 5:45pm to get my weekly fix (I come here 2 sometimes 3x per week). I noticed one of the employees (a male with a curly bowl like hair cut) walking outside of the restaurant with gloves on. When he got to the front door of the restaurant, he opened it with his gloves on, then once inside I saw him touch/ scratch his head (with the same gloves). He then proceeded to go behind the counter and pick up a bowl and prep an order for a customer. HE NEVER CHANGED HIS GLOVES! Nope! I'm done. As I'm sitting in my car see dude come back out carrying what looks like a white bucket of trash? Something? Whatever it is, he has on the same gloves on. Yuck. read more

So... they definitely don't fill up the bowls like they used to. ESPECIALLY if you order only mixed greens . The last 2 times I visited, I got mixed greens and they barely put any salad. What a shame. They were hella on point before. Also- the onions they mix in with the fish were SO thick and chunky. Not thin like they're supposed to be... This place is actually so good! I ordered salmon and shrimp with spicy mayo, unagi, and sesame oil. The fish here was definitely good quality. I think this is one of my new favorite places to go for poke now. The servers were kind and there were plenty of tables to sit at. I am a big poke fan, so I definitely had to try this place out. The employees are really nice and friendly. They even helped us through the menu and gave some good suggestions. Definitely one of the better poke places in the Bay. Stopped by for lunch as I had an errand to run. Service was fast and friendly. Generous portions of fish with great freshness and a nice selection of toppings. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for free avocado . All the sauces were good too and they don't drench the bowl like other places do. A little on the pricier side but I will always pay a few extra bucks for great food and great portions. read more

My favorite poke place in the area! I love the choice to get unlimited toppings instead of having to pay for every single topping. I'm always satisfied with my food! First I was a boba connoisseur, now I think it's safe to say I can add poke connoisseur to that list. I'm pretty skeptical of poke spots overall given the flavorless frozen fish that a lot of places have, but Bayside Poke had some fresh, flavorful fish! I shared a bowl of the tuna and marinated tuna. The salmon also looked really fresh! The tuna didn't have that weird, rough texture and instead was really smooth. The marinated tuna was delightfully slimy. Toppings-wise, they had your standard onions, edamame, seaweed salad, masago, etc. Prices are standard. The seating feels sorta afterthough-ish since they have those black stackable chairs, but hey, if I'm just in there for a quick bite that's fine. Rice was pretty standard. read more

Dropped by here earlier today (6/11/2020) to pick up some poke. The food was really good! Fish was very fresh and the sauce was really tasty and flavorful. I got the bayside signature bowl - came out to be a little over $15 but it's worth it for good quality fish and happy to support some local businesses during this time. This has been a nice addition the the plaza that was not very busy til the past year or more (thanks to Bonchon and Gong Cha). I love the concept of build your own bowl and two sizes. The regular size is plenty even for a large appetite. They have special creations or byo. The seafood: salmon, yellow tail, tuna, marinated tuna and octopus. I've only tried the salmon, tuna and marinated tuna. Overall, fair quality although a few pieces have tasted off on two occasions. Brown or white rice or even mixed greens comprise the majority of the bowl. And o do appreciate how they mix on the spot your fish and sauce of choice. Lemon grass ponzu, ponzo, shoyu, spicy mayo and even vegetarian ponzu! I may be missing one. Toppings are good and appetizing except the look of the mango..it looks unripe- light yellow in color, so I never get it.. And I do like the tagarashi(?) which is a flavorful blend of goodness with some heat. Also, they put sauce on top too and it includes the other sauces I named plus wasabi mayo and the sauce they put on eel. For $11 plus tax, it's a good option for the area. read more

(Visited during Covid-19) Bayside Poke offered a nice selection of fishes from salmon, yellow tail, marinated tuna, and many more. Their prices range about the same along with other Poke restaurants in the area. I recommend the Sriracha mayo and Special soy sauce together since it give it a pretty combination of both fat but also sweet and spicy flavor. I would say I come here quite a bit as it is the only poke shop I like nearby; frequent enough to notice when something has changed. Some of the fish dont seem fresh/ was prepared weird because the tuna was really soggy. It was also quite frozen when I ate my bowl. There were also new people ( an older lady and some younger) training but the lady that served my toppings was really stingy with it especially with the seaweed & masago. I wouldn't mind but i only got lite toppings and am paying $18 for a small bowl. I also noticed there was no five stars for points and when asked the cashier she just said they don't have it at all anymore. They are open during covid! Food is take-out only and no dine-in. Though there is a small 2-seater table outside, which someone was eating at when we visited. Food was delicious. There were only 3 raw rish options (salmon, tuna, and marinaded tuna only) but they were so fresh. There was no extra charge for imitation crab meat. Toppings and sauces were aplenty and generous. My go-to poke spot. It's a 2 min drive from my home. I really hope they don't go out of business. I never see people eating inside so I'm hoping or guessing people usually do take-out. My husband and I have come here a few times. They have an option of doing signature bowls or custom bowls. A regular bowl will get you 3 scoops of protein while a large bowl will get you 4. I opted tonight for a scoop of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon with salad as my base. They put a little too much greens for my taste and I was tempted to ask them to reduce the amount but decided not to. I put sesame oil as the mixture with soybeans, seaweed salad, masago, pickled ginger and furikake with wasabi mayo as the final topping. All was delicious and it went well together. Check it out. Tried this poke place because we wanted something light for lunch. This poke bar has all the fixings you might crave on your bowl. The fish wasn't the freshest, in my opinion. The tuna had a strong fishy and slightly sour taste, that I didn't enjoy. I tried both the tuna and hamachi in my bowl, which are usually my favorite types of fish for poke bowls. A few of the hamachi pieces were cut with chewy bits, but it had better flavor than the tuna. I might have came on an off day. read more

Bayside is a pretty fast casual poke place. It's very quick, efficient, clean - and the poke bowls are freshly good. It's great for eating in or picking up to go. My favorite is the 21 Salmon - basically has everything you like salmon. One note: they have sushi rice listed on the menu. I have been going here since their grand opening. I used to come at least once or twice a week when their bowls were $13. Their owners (the Korean dudes?) would pack my bowl and it was a great feeling because their food is great! I have been hesitant to come here lately because your food portions vary significantly based on who is working. It's frustrating when a new employee skimps your portions. This happened throughout the years. Today, the kid gave me limited proteins, and when I asked for the seaweed salad, he picked out a couple of strands and rang me out. My wife told me about this spot, so I went there for the first time today. I've had poke before but not with some of the toppings they offer. I had a mix of their marinated tuna, regular tuna, and salmon. The flavor was about average. I liked their choice of sauces, though. I mixed wasabi mayo and spicy mayo. The next toppings are average, edamame, sweet seaweed salad, etc. Lastly, the more fun toppings- hot Cheetos, crunchy garlic, fried onions, furikake, and a couple others. Overall, a solid 4 stars. Not so much a negative, but it is a small, almost hole in the wall restaurant. Anymore than 12 people and it would be crowded. One other thing to note- it didn't bother me at the time, but I did take notice. The music the 2 young employees were playing had profanity. The song that was playing when we sat down was "I wanna love you" by Akon, explicit version. Now, if we had gone there with the kids, I would've asked them to change it. I feel like this is a really underrated poke place! I came by with some friends because we were in the area, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. You can make your own bowl (choose protein, base, toppings, sauce) for $10.50 for a regular sized bowl and I think $12.50 for a large. The regular comes with 3 scoops of fish, and the large comes with 4. They also have some pre-made bowl combinations that you can order! I opted to make my own bowl, and I got a regular bowl with brown rice and 2 scoops salmon/1 scoop tuna. I added a bunch of stuff onto it (they have a ton of topping choices!) and I chose to mix ponzu and shoyu sauces. I also added avocado; usually I'm not willing to pay for it but they had a free scoop of avocado for checking in on Yelp :') I also highly recommend adding pineapple as a topping - it added a refreshing taste to my bowl. The fish tasted fresh, and they were really generous with their portions/scoops! The people working are super friendly, and they also have a Fivestars rewards system! This is one of the best poke places for the best value that I've been to in awhile, and I will be back again if I'm in the area. read more

I would rate this place 4 stars. It was really tasty poke - I got the four scoops of salmon + tuna + shrimp + yellowtail. The ingredients felt different than your normal poke shop in a good way and their sauces tasted great in the poke - I got a spicy mix of sauces. Unfortunately, downside is that the price is something like 15% more expensive than other poke spots. And I had to buy a water bottle too. If I had to guess, it's more expensive probably because it's not a chain restaurant, as far as I know. Gotta support your local businesses. Ehhhh. That was my first response after the first bite of the customized poke bowl. I got the regular bowl with sushi rice and the fishes and the toppings. Didn't try their hot drop tho bc I worry about the aftermath of spicy ass food. Anyway, really wasn't feeling that white rice. There was no flavoring. And it was somewhat mushy. Just plain gross! And also maybe bc I got it to-go, but because the raw fish was placed directly on top of the hot ass white rice, it probably semi-cooked the fish so then it tasted kinda not fresh anymore. Uhh it was just all bad. Only reason why I'm even giving it two stars is because the service was really nice and friendly. All I can say is.... WOW!! Right when I walked into this place I knew it would be good. This place is CLEAN and NICE, which makes me feel good about their kitchen and how they handle raw fish. Everyone is super friendly and they really go the extra mile to make sure you're satisfied. Lately my poke experiences have been mediocre (especially with little kids scooping your fish and what not), but this place definitely stepped it up with their staff. Everything was amazing! My boyfriend and I really love the poke here because of how fresh it is. We've been here multiple times for dinner. And the reason why I'm only giving 3 stars is because of the workers.. every single time we came here we were not greeted properly, they're sitting by the table where customers are supposed to eat, they're on their phones and laptops and they are SLAAAAPPIN inappropriate music! I didn't mind the music but for others especially families with kids.. I wouldn't think they would like it. Also, once they start serving us, they seriously look like they don't want to work there.. their energy was just blaaah. I would still come back for the poke. I decided to give this place a shot when it popped up on my Yelp search for nearby eats. Like Poke Poke, Poke House, Poke Bowl, etc. this place has you building your poke bowl. Prices are comparable to the other poke places in the area. Regular is like $11 something for three scoops of fish and practically unlimited toppings (except crab salad and avocado). Free scoop of avocado with my Yelp check-in though. I'm a relatively small person so I'm able to eat my regular bowl for two meals. The fish are cut into smaller cubes than other places I've been too, which gives the fish less of a bite but still tastes as they should. I've got no real complaints for the toppings; if you've been to one poke place, you'll already know what to expect from the toppings. Definitely a game changer to the poké industry! What sets them apart from other poke joints is that they made ALL their sauces IN HOUSE- none of that store bought pre made sauce here. These guys really take that extra step that no one else is willing to. I really love the house, lemongrass, and spicy mayo sauce. Get the spicy mayo and unagi sauce to top off your bowl along side with the dry toppings (garlic chips*** hot Cheetos fries onions). For all you spicy food fanatics, ask for some hot drops. If you're lucky and able to get your hands on the limited daily supplies of the seared salmon AND poke nachos.... trust me, you won't be disappointed. Surprisingly, the tofu is actually good and flavorful mixed in with the poke. The shop itself is super modern in design. Spacious, plenty of tables with a tv for all you sports fanatics. Don't forget to check out their custom menu boards- right when you walk in there are menus you can grab and look over what they have to offer. As far as customer service goes, i can't think of a place more welcoming and excited for every customer that stops by. The management team really cares about what you think and caters to your liking. I've tried all the other poke spots in this area and I'm just so disappointed with how skimpy the fish is served in your poke bowl and the flavor isn't as fresh :( Bayside blew all the other poke spots I've visited out the water! Heard there was a new poke place so I had to come try it out. I went with one of their signature bowls (21 salmon) since it had pretty much everything I eat in a poke in it. Just to see, I asked before I ordered whether or not signature bowls can still have added toppings and the guy said yes. So, I went for 21 salmon with no onions. Not really sure if this is typical but he basically made the bowl as if I were ordering it as a build your own poke. I had assumed he would make the bowl and just omit the onions like I asked and add anything I would have requested. Instead, he scooped the salmon and proceeded to ask me what I wanted in my bowl as if it was a build your own. I think the only items I added to it was seaweed salad and ginger. I would say protein portion is a bit small but still filling. To me, I think they give too much rice. The salmon was good was well as the toppings. They have hot Cheeto crumbs which I didn't go for this time but probably next time for sure! They only thing I didn't prefer that they do is that they don't mix the cucumbers with the protein and sauce. They have the cucumbers as a topping. The cucumbers were a bit on the dry side and would have tasted way better if it were tossed with the sauce. If you dine in, they provide a water dispenser if you get thirsty. read more
