Not a cheap service, or I should say no cheap service in bay area. It cost my $250 to replace a capacitor, which takes 10 mins in total and the part cost about $10. I can't say enough great things about Baz. I've successfully fixed all my own HVAC issues for 10+ years, but finally got stumpted by a nebulous Nest thermostat error code that wasn't easy to diagnose. Edmon answered the phone. He was personable, and even gave me some troubleshooting ideas to try while I waited for the service call because they were busy. He worked with me and genuinely tried his best to get me helped as quickly as possible. Anwar came out, treated me with respect and heard me out when I explained all the troubleshooting I already tried and my theory that it was the furnace circuit board. He came up with a game plan to isolate the issue, and within an hour fixed 2 separate issues and we were up and running. My furnace circuit board was bad and also my nest base plate was bad. I checked the voltage coming to the thermostat (wire voltage checked out) but didn't think the base plate could be bad (it should just map wires to a connector to the thermostat). I wouldn't have found that problem on my own. The Nest replacement part had to be ordered, but Anwar lent me his company replacement part until the new replacement part shipped because he saw I had kids and didn't want us to be w/o AC. Late review from a few months ago. Had an emergency where the walk in cooler at our restaurant wasn't working. Baz responded immediately and was able to come the next day. Was quoted on refrigerant being low and that it would fix the problem. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the problem and Baz had to come out two more times to take a look. He was finally able to locate the problem but he had to take out the refrigerant that we had already been charged for, replace a valve, and was charged for another round of refrigerant. It was his first time servicing our cooler so I understand that he didn't know it's history but it would have been nice to have Baz take a closer look the first time so that we didn't have to get charged for R22 (which is expensive) twice. However, we really appreciated Baz following through in fixing the cooler and being prompt in responding. If we have any other problems, we will still call Baz! read more

1 star- responsive 2 star - timely. Came in same day and helped fix the problem. Although the time when he came was about 70 degrees outside, it was going to teach 95 degrees later. So we appreciated that they came to fix the AC right way and made rest of the day comfortable for us. 3 star- for the professionalism. The technician wore a mask, was respectable towards everyone and provided suggestions on how to prevent this from happening. One minus star- However, the price a bit high for the service. They replaced the capacitor which costs $20 bucks and charged $ 220 for the whole service which took them about 20 minutes. Even if someone charges by the hour, $200 for an hour seems a bit much to me. 2nd minus star- At the end, the technician asked for $250 bucks when the owner quoted $220. I ended up giving the tip so eventually it was the same. But was a bit disappointed by two different prices from the same team. If you are ok with paying $220 bucks for capacitor replacement, go with them. They fixed it in an efficient manner. If you have time, please try and look around before committing. In the end, I appreciate that they helped us during this difficult time (pandemic) for the community. read more

Our air conditioning was running warm and not cooling the house. We called a couple of HVAC services and got voicemail. We called BAZ Service Refrigeration and Edmon answered the phone.
