I have had a number of the other BB.Q Chicken locations, but had my first experience at this location recently. Friends and I came in on a Friday for dinner. We were seated right away; however, we were super lucky to come in when we did since they have limited seating options available as they still practice COVID precautions. We ordered quite a bit of food including the boneless golden olive, BB wings, soy garlic wings, galbi wings, french fries, cabbage salad, and a small cup of radish. One of the favorites were definitely the Original Golden Olive! It was so juicy, moist, and flavorful! Everything came out incredibly fresh that it was hard to wait for the food to cool so we wouldn't burn our mouths biting into it! What I enjoyed most was that the batter on the chicken is both thin but also still very crispy! It kept us from feeling too heavy after all the chicken we ate! One thing to note is while other Korean fried chicken spots tend to give the cabbage salad and radish and a complimentary side, you do have to pay for it here. The radish wasn't pickled in a way I prefer so I would skip this next time. One friend mentioned that the soy garlic marinade was heavy on the garlic and not so balanced with the soy...but still ended up being his 2nd fave flavor! The staff were helpful and I appreciate their patience with all the jokes my partner was making. My Bb.q world tour continues...As this Cypress location was check off my list tonight. I've been to the other locations (Torrance, Buena Park, Lakewood) and this place was equally as good. Tucked in a small shopping center in Cypress, I've always have driven past this place or eaten at the many surrounding restaurants close by. Finally visited for a dine in dinner. Right away we were kindly greeted by several staff members. Wasn't as busy as I would thought, so we had open seating. As the menu varies each location we glanced over the menu here and noticed some slight differences. Offerings other locations don't have and the wing price/quantity varies as well. We pretty much knew what our order was going to be from the start, but we had surprises of extras also. For starters we ordered the cheese sticks and our go to Rose Dduk Bokki. Main was our other go-to, Honey Garlic Wings (10 piece). If you are a regular here at any location, you know that the food takes time as made to order. So don't expect dishes to come out quickly. First out was our Rose Dduk Bokki. Compared to other locations this had a little more spice level. Not a bad thing at all, still good with a more of kick. Next came our cheese sticks. Dip them in the Rose Dduk Bokki for that extra flavor, great cheese pull here. The cheese sticks are filling, nine to an order we only ate four. Next came out the Honey Garlic chicken. A bit of a mix up as the order that came out was boneless as we wanted bone-in wings. Our server, Kenny was super apologetic, and wanted to correct the order. Again not too much a big deal, but we appreciated the hospitality and his service. The wing came out about about 10-15 after and Kenny treated us with the corn salad and coleslaw sides for us waiting. What a guy! So I'm a sucker for KFC coleslaw and only KFC coleslaw. Something about it is just delicious, but this coleslaw here, was surprisingly close to it! Very good and passes my expectations. The corn salad was also very good, but again to my my surprise I might give edge to the slaw. The wings came out piping hot with that signature crispy and crunch bite. Can do no wrong with the honey garlic wings. I wanted to mention how great our server, Kenny was. He was extremely attentive to us. And was making sure we were taken care of and happy with the food. He definitely went above and beyond for us when he didn't have too. So kudos to you Kenny! Appreciate the hard work and service you've given us tonight. I wasn't able to take pictures as I would normally, due to us being so hungry we just dove into the food. All in all this is another great location and will be visiting soon again. My hubs and I were looking for a late night snack and finally decided to have a sit-down meal bb.q chicken. Previously, we have taken our chicken to go. We were greeted warmly by several staff members. The owner shared that the place was under new ownership as of a few days ago. The restaurant has a big open feel and there is a table that would accommodate a larger party. If you love K-pop, there is a large screen playing K-pop videos :) We ordered the Golden Olive Drumsticks which came out piping hot with a side of white radishes. Seriously....I can never have regular fried chicken again because this chicken was beyond fresh and perfectly seasoned. It went perfectly with the IPA on tap! **Keep in mind that the chicken takes about 20 minutes to prepare. Definitely worth the wait!** We will definitely be back! read more

I've had a lot of Korean fried chicken in my adventures in gluttony but bb.q, a giant chain, has topped them all. Am I even allowed to say that? There's something about the way they season and fry the chicken here that makes it so flavorful and deep and crispy without being painfully oily. The chicken is always so juicy and the flavors go deep into each piece and not just on the surface. So many chicken places have great seasoning on the skin but the meat is so bland and sometimes a bit "strong" which indicates poor quality or improper storage (gross). BB.q is so friendly and clean and yes, some of the sauces are a bit too heavy handed but you can always order lightly sauced you know? The spicy isn't really spicy which is the only real complaint I have but other than that I've been happy every time. This is the only bb.q location I've been to because my first visit was so pleasant I just kept returning. I have another location that just opened closer to my house but I like it here. The husband and wife who run this shop are so cute and sweet. We've been here a few times to order to go and had a beer while waiting. They were happy to talk to us about the Korean beers and we shared with them some info about the European beers they have on tap. Oh. Our order came with shredded cabbage with dressing and pickled daikon radishes. Everything was delicious!! Chicken nice and juicy, wasn't spicy at all for me, although others thought otherwise. *Late Post* We came across this gem on our way back home to San Diego from Santa Barbara. When we realized it was getting late and to the point where we were very limited to our food selections. So we were doubtful that we can fulfill our Korean Chicken Wing cravings. We thought wrong! So when searching Yelp for Korean Fried Chicken in between Long Beach and Garden Grove, there was just way too many selections that were still open around 8:30pm-9pm to our surprise. Thankfully we decided to go here instead of the other 100s out there. First of all, service and the quality of wings was over the top! The flavors was all there and the balance of seasoning was right on point. The wings weren't over or under battered and the cabbage salad paired perfectly with our meals. In addition, we did order like 30minutes before they closed and usually workers are pretty much beat towards the end of the night (from experience) but the employees here were actually very communicative and still happy to serve their customers.so Kudos to that! Can't forget to mention, the wings were crispy! We really didn't want to regret leaving without ordering more for later that night or for the next day, so we did jus that. We normally go to the cerritos location and will be sticking to the cerritos location. The rose cheese dduk bokki is the same price $14.99 but you get MAYBE half (more like 40%) of what the cerritos location gives you. Also, we ordered the whole chicken half original and half secret spicy sauce. We even called back to clarify the order because the young guy on the phone sounded confused. Of course the bf didn't check our order before leaving so when he brought it home (in the rain) I immediately told the bf they gave us a half order of secret spicy chicken. Also, the 3 of 10 pieces were more like popcorn chicken size. The bf called back to tell them they got our order wrong and the young guy said sorry and hung up. The chicken here is always crispy and coated very well with flavor. I would definitely reccomend calling ahead for pickup as it can be a bit of a wait because of how fresh the items are! A favorite of mine are the Spicy Galbi and Wings of Fire. They warn you that these spices are hard to handle, but they're very tolerable and have a bit of sweetness to them as well. It looks like a place where you'd order at the counter but I was immediately told to sit anywhere and a menu was brought to me. The interior is casual with a dozen tables. I decided to order their lunch special which was offered at a great price: 6 pieces of boneless chicken, fries and a drink. From their seven choices, I decided on their original golden olive chicken. They cook to order so it took about 20 minutes. The exterior of the deep fried chicken was crisp while the meat was juicy. Nothing spectacular but decent. The fries were very crisp on the outside but lacked seasoning or flavor. Service after my order was taken was nonexistent. You have to wave at someone to get anything, which I had to do to request my bill and after 10 minutes finally took it up to the counter to pay. Since the table service is so poor they really should make this an "order-at-the-counter" casual eatery. This place just open about less than 2 months ago. I ordered the original golden olive 1/2 chicken togo. They make it fresh from each order. It took about 15 mins for the wait so I went next door to Ralph's to buy grocery. The chicken was still piping hot when I got home. The package it in a nice paper box. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I have never felt the need to write a bad review about an establishment before today. My fiancé and I have been loyal costumers to BBQ chicken and have always raved about it to our family and friends. Today my fiancé called in to make an order for pick up. I was by him while he made the pick up order via phone call. He had repeated the order 3x before hanging up- just to make sure everything was correct. It was a simple order: 10 piece golden olive crispy drumsticks. Or so we thought it was simple enough. As he arrived to pick up the order, he noticed the order was wrong. They gave him 10 piece of the secret spicy instead of the golden olive in which he ordered. Okay, simple fix right? Or so we thought. They refused to accommodate and even argued that we were the ones who made a mistake. My fiancé is soft spoken, patient and non confrontational. He tried to reason with them, but it was as if they refused to listen and fix the problem. There was no apology made about their mistake on their behalf. Even with this terrible service and experience, my fiancé placed another order, one in which we originally had placed (because this order was for family, so he wanted to make sure he brought back home the correct item). Not only did he pay for the incorrect order, he had to place another order and pay again. We will not be coming back to this establishment. I've had bb.q Chicken twice now and once was from a different location. This Cypress location has such great quality chicken for their boneless wings. I'm not sure if every location is different in quality, but picking up food from here definitely made me super happy. Our group ordered the original crunchy chicken, maple crunch chicken and soy garlic chicken - all boneless. We also ordered some fries, rice and daikon sides. Best Korean fried chicken! Call in to order for pick up, and it's usually ready within 20 mins. Get a stamp card because you'll be going there frequently. Boyf and I live within walking distance, so this is our go-to place for the days we don't feel like cooking and want something delicious. Our favorite is the Galbi Wings-- it's like a Korean bbq-style smoky sweet/savory flavor. I also like the honey garlic and secret spicy (not super spicy but has a good kick). The best thing about this place is that their wings are consistently cooked every time. I find other wing places (Cough wingstop cough) sometimes gives you overcooked or undercooked wings. Not here! Bbq Chicken has given us perfectly cooked, juicy, hot wings each of the 10+ times we've ordered. Other notable mentions: - Original golden olive chicken has a bit of a spice to it. First strike, five months ago, I ordered wings to-go. I arrive, give them my name, and am handed a bag. I go home and it's a completely different order. Great. But somehow this branch has smaller size chicken and not as crispy as the other 2 branches. I've had this chicken quite often, but this is the first time I was disappointed. Take a look athe pic of the whole original chicken I've ordered and compare it to the pic in the box. Both Cerritos and Buena Park branches comes pretty close to this except this branch in Cypress. I called to complain and asked if I can back and replace with another one. They totally disregard my complaint and snarkly said " No one else complained today!" Gangnam is still the #1 favorite flavor for my fam & I, but we have a new second favorite flavor! It's called super fried or sup fried ? I can't remember, but it has its own separate page when they give you the menu to order. Also, I appreciate that this business took the time to update the holiday hours on Yelp. Great News! They have CORN CHEESE now!!! And other new side dishes that I can't wait to try like kimchi fried rice! Another tip is to make sure you get their new stamp card.
