This ruined our kids party on Mother's Day I paid for 10 pieces (valued at $32.99 plus tax and tip) but only 8 pieces in the box.

I'm so disappointed with BBQ Chicken. I was celebrating Mother's Day with my little nephews and nieces (5 of them) so I ordered 10 pieces of the original drumstick for dinner. The wait was about 25 minutes and when I got home and was about to hand out 2 pieces of chicken each to 5 little kids and was extremely disappointed to only see EIGHT drumsticks. I paid for 10 but was only given 8 pieces. How could that be? How can you miss 2 big pieces and hand out less than what the Customer paid for? I'm frustrated and would never go back to this place again. I've been seeing so many bad reviews about this branch but i decided to patronize it since I'm all for helping our local small businesses. But don't rip your customers off. Please. It's not nice. And it's bad publicity that's, in any shape or form, not the customers' fault.

    Spicy Ddeok Bokki

This is my first time trying this place. The people who work there were very nice and the service was wonderful. I had a Diet Coke which was perfectly carbonated and was refilled before reaching the bottom. I ordered the SPICY DDEOK BOKKI which is the middle spicy (or 2 chilli). I feel the heat was similar to the Shin spicy noodles (not too spicy but you get some heat, my nose was a little runny from the heat). The texture of the rice cake had a beautiful chewiness to it and came with fresh onions and cabbage all in the red chilli sauce. I REALLY enjoyed it. This place is known for bbq chicken, so I had to order some wings. I ordered Gang Jeong Wings. It is a tangy, sweet and spicy sauce. The sauce is not runny but thick and sweet. They didn't taste too spicy while I was eating the spicy rice cakes (I think the heat from the rice cakes was hotter than the wings). The wings had a perfect crisp on the outside while the meat on the inside was juicy and fresh. There was a perfect amount of sauce on the wings and I definitely did not need any dipping sauce (perfect). I'm not sure how they fry these wings, but they are fried perfectly. This is a MUST TRY place! Definitely stop here and order some wings or try the Ddeok Bokki, they are delicious!

While we were in Irvine, decided to stop by the Diamond Jamboree center to grab something to eat. Wanted some Korean food so decided to get wings at bbq Chicken. Place is small but luckily we were able to get a table. There were 12 of us so kudos for the staff to seat us all together by putting a few tables together. Most of us ordered the weekend special ($14.99) where u get your choice of either 4 wings, 4 boneless wings, 2 drumsticks, or 4 chicken tenders, which came with one choice of sauce (I got the soy garlic), and also comes with 2 sides (green salad, fries, or steam rice). The only problem we had was when we ordered all our food from the staff. We basically had 12 orders and he didn't write anything down and just tried to remember everything. I was like, if he gets our orders perfectly correct, he definitely deserves a great tip for remembering all that. But of course a few orders were either mixed up or wrong. On our part, the chicken had the wrong sauce and the wrong side. So we had to wait for about 10 more minutes to get the correct order. Nice thing though is he gave us the wrong plate on the house for the mistake. But overall, everything was fine and everything tasted great!

Double Crunch Wings (BB Wings) and French Fries

Bb.q chicken is my go-to Korean fried chicken restaurant/chain. They always have perfectly cooked, crispy, and juicy chicken, just look at the picture! It may be more expensive than other places, but it is well worth it in my opinion. My usual order is the double crunch BB wings and fries and they have a $13.99 weekday lunch combo for 4 wings and two sides. This location has a great amount of indoor seating, but they are usually busy with takeout orders as well so keep that in mind.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, not even for poor taste or service, because those things can be subjective, and I prefer to support local businesses. However, health and safety are a completely different matter. During my recent visit, I found a cockroach in one of the dishes we ordered, the Spicy Dduck Bokki. We were shocked, especially because we had already eaten some of it before noticing. When I got home, I checked the restaurant's inspection history from the Orange County Health Division. It turns out they were previously closed in January 2024 and again in March 2025 due to cockroaches found at multiple places in their kitchen. I noticed that the "Business Owner" replies to every review here. Seriously, instead of focusing on managing Yelp ratings, please put that effort and time into ensuring the kitchen meets basic hygiene and safety standards. At the very least, customers deserve food that's safe to eat.

So tough to rate, because this place has been from great to bleh over the past 2 years. I'd say averaging out to 4 stars is fair. When they're on, they are one of the best fried chicken places in socal. On a couple of occasions though, food was overcooked and dry (see pics). Staff is friendly and helpful. The place is decorated pretty sparsely, but clean.

Food: the chicken here is solid. Nice crunch and flavorful. The spicy chicken is really spicy, and I'm a big fan of spice but I could handle so much of the chicken. The tteokboki was flavorful and not spicy at all. There was the perfect amount for sharing. Service: it wasn't too busy when we came in. We ordered so much food for 4 people and had to take some chicken home. They were really kind and attentive for whatever we needed. Ambiance: it's very clean inside and they have clean restrooms. This location looks brand new!

Crispy chicken strips which were tasty and have a bit of a kick which I wasn't expecting.
    Robert F.

Ambiance is fine for a casual dining restaurant. Definitely not a date night hang out. If you're short on time I HIGHLY suggest ordering in advance. With a 30-40 wait time from ordering...fast food it is not. The chicken is good. Not great or fantastic. Personally I prefer Pelicana but I was a bit disappointed when a tiny extra sauce was an additional $2.78 after having spent $62 on chicken pieces. So far as the service... I think the best way to describe it would be...eh. Overall, there are better choices but it's decent enough that I'll probably order it again due to location.

First time here, good service. Had their honey garlic drumsticks and cheese-ling wings. Will come back one day :) a bit pricey but worth it.

I have been a BBQ chicken patron for many years, frequently dinning at the Buena Park/ Fullerton locations, and I have never had such a disappointing experience. This location strongly under delivered. The portion sizes were stingy for the box deal and the flavors were not on point at all. They also would not allow us to eat inside with the deal and we had to take it to go? We got the spicy and honey flavors and they chicken pieces were not well coated and dry. The ketchup we got was also liquidy since it was not shaken properly. Also, from my experience the radish is usually complimentary, $1.50 for radish was a bit much. Overall, avoid this location as it is a busy plaza and try different B.B.Q. spots.

    Sweet and spicy wings

Doesn't look like what I've ordered before, this looks like grocery store frozen wings. Which is fine but not what I'm ordering here for, not coming back.

    Rice

The worst point is in orange county. The service is bad. It doesn't match the photos. This is the last time I order through door dash. It is better to drive yourself and take it to Costa Mesa or Tustin. I strongly not recommend this guys until they change, I don't know what they're doing there at all - for a very long time they've just had a low quality below a C. It is several times worse in taste and serving than in other BBQ chicken points! You just look at the photo and look at it, I left reviews elsewhere on bbq, the difference is just incredibly huge. Chicken is not crispy at all. There is absolutely no greenery added. They didn't put the radish in. It's very sad that this is the case. It's incredible how many times I've tried and given them a chance to buy in this place, but the same quality doesn't improve per pound. I highly not recommend it! Upd: I started trying rice so rice is still dirty just a crap!

Are they open on Xmas day?

    Do they do delivery?

    No.

Did this place change ownership? It used to be among my favorites but now the chicken is bland and oily. Nothing like what I remembered from a year ago.

Yes, new ownership when they did the remodel. They are more stingy especially with charging you for sauces to go.

We finally gave it a shot today. We ordered the steamed pork belly, cold noodles, and the galbi soup. The food was very good. My mom was quite happy with the cold noodles and my kids consumed every drop of the galbi soup. My dad and I had the steamed pork belly and we agreed that it was pretty good. The part I want to really emphasize was the service. The young man that took care of us was very attentive and most importantly, treated my kids so well. He provided them with all their usual needs like plastic silverware, extra bowls for soup, and even offered extra soup when he saw that they devoured the galbi soup. He went out of his way to give them some BTS Edition Oreos and little bags with stickers in them. I am always very grateful anytime people take care to treat my kids well. I'm glad we decided to give this spot a try.

It was rich and just lightly spicy. Definitely need to come with at least 4 people to be able to try everything! We came as a family of 4 and it was the perfect amount of food. There was only one server but he was great and would constantly come and tell us if the stew was ready or to refill banchans.

I tried the raw marinated crab for the first time here, and it was so flavorful and honestly tasted amazing. It is definitely a little messy to eat, but I would absolutely order it again. The short ribs are usually my go-to and were great as usual. I will say BCD Tofu House probably has them beat when it comes to LA galbi specifically, but these still hit the spot. The bulgogi was also a solid addition to the table. One of my favorite parts of coming here is the banchan. The sides always taste super fresh, feel a little more unique than the usual lineup, and seem to change depending on the season or what they are featuring. The mac salad and japchae are always favorites for me, and you really cannot go wrong with the kimchi or cucumber kimchi either. Service is consistently quick, easy, and attentive. This isn't the place for trendy fusion dishes or flashy presentation; it's all about hearty Korean comfort food that feels especially satisfying on a cold day. My go-to Korean dishes are Yukgaejang and Bossam. The spicy beef soup is usually my benchmark for any Korean restaurant. Tang 190's version delivered everything I look for: a rich, deeply flavored broth with a satisfying level of spice and plenty of tender beef throughout. It's the kind of soup that keeps me coming back. This last visit, I finally got to try their pork and kimchi platter. The pork itself was tender and enjoyable, but I wasn't a fan of the cabbage. Instead of being lightly pickled with salt, it had been fermented to the point where it resembled white kimchi. I've actually never seen it made like this before. I definitely prefer the fresher, crisper flavor profile to pair with the pork and radish, so this preparation didn't quite work. Service was efficient, and the meal arrived quickly. On any other day, it's usually a 5 star visit, but the bossam preparation was a huge miss for me. While prices have crept up over the years, Tang 190 still does what it does best: serving comforting, no-frills Korean food that consistently hits the spot.

I have always really liked this restaurant, which is why today's experience was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, what happened today was truly awful. From the beginning, our server appeared visibly impatient. When we repeated a couple of dish names to make sure the order was correct, she began speaking to us in an unnecessarily loud and irritated tone. Her voice was loud enough that another employee noticed the situation and offered to take over the order. Instead of accepting the help professionally, our server responded that the other employee would not be able to understand what she had written in Korean. When the other employee later asked her to repeat our order, she read it back very loudly and with obvious anger. The entire restaurant could hear her, and the experience made our whole family feel embarrassed and extremely uncomfortable, especially since we had children with us. Later, she seemed to realize that her behavior had affected us. She brought us a noodle dish "on the house" and briefly said sorry. While we appreciated the gesture, it did not undo the way we were treated in front of the entire restaurant. My question is: if you knew your behavior required an apology afterward, why treat customers that way in the first place? Customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience simply because they are dining with a larger group or placing a larger order. We came to enjoy a family meal, not to be spoken to with hostility and publicly embarrassed. Unfortunately, this experience completely overshadowed the food.
