After many hours of watching Korean drama during COVID, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Korean BBQ chicken place near me. I will not lie, my visit to Seoul did not see me eating their famed chicken nor beer with chicken, but I found myself ordering the original chicken and the honey garlic, then driving to Publix for beer! You will absolutely love the chicken, whichever one you order. The Gangnam style is still my favorite and my entire family swears by the honey garlic! A new location opened up! They picked a prime spot. I think this place used to be a burger joint. Service is great- better than other BBQ locations. We did a to-go order and they were fast and efficient. The crunchiness of our onion rings and chicken survived the 15 minute drive home. Quality of the food is up to BBQ Chicken standards. We got the honey garlic whole chicken (large) and gangjeong boneless with rose tteokboki and onion rings. I don't think other locations have onion rings but this place does!! Didn't disappoint. I ordered a 1/2 of a whole chicken: fried honey garlic chicken. (Note: There are several flavors to choose from) the texture, is nothing but a light crisp crunchy, seasoned and moist on the inside chicken. ITS THAT GOOD!! Eat it with some cubed radish *YUMMY* I also ordered fried dumplings that accommodated some soy sauce; and their kimchi fried rice..i was able to add spam and cheese to that. Nothing but pure bliss to my satisfaction!! The staff is great although the waiting period is a little long (25 min) - but the food is sooo worth the wait. You'll see and understand why. Tbh I much prefer bb.q over the other place because the chicken wings are bigger and crispier. Let's get right to it: Chicken wings: regular fried wings Pros: - good quantity to share - still crispy even though I was about twenty minutes late for pickup, still warm as well. - chicken was not dry Cons: - none Fries: Pros: -fantastic quantity to share, my dad cleaned out half and he normally can close up the whole thing by himself as fries are his favorite. They have a basic boneless that is spicy which I was trying to avoid but I think the regular also has a kick to it. Nevertheless, the food was good. Mac & Cheese tasted exactly like krafts Mac and cheese. Not expecting that quality especially eating out at a restaurant. The medium "whole chicken", Golden Original Whole Chicken, was just a bunch of pieces cut up. A whole chicken is 2 legs, 2 thighs, 2 breasts, and 2 wings. We got 1 leg, 1 wing and what looks like 1 breast cut up into smaller pieces. I was told the medium was 8 pieces and the large was 16 (assuming 4 of each pieces. Seeing as it's literally called "whole chicken," I just don't think that's fair. The flavor of the chicken and the dumplings were good. If I were to go back I'd just get wings. Korean fried chicken really elevates a classic to a different level. There's a sublime level of crunch and flavor that you don't find elsewhere. If you're unfamiliar with Korean fried chicken, like one of the other diners, don't be surprised if you don't receive the typical huge [steroid-infused...] chicken. Instead, the chicken tends to run a little smaller. That said, you'll never feel like you're cheated. The prices aren't low, but Lord knows we don't really have low prices these days anywhere. I open up the food and "excuse me, you ordered to go. If you leave a tip you can sit and eat." Well, I didn't order to go, I simply did the logical thing and walked to the counter and ordered. Normally if you are going to leave a tip, you will get refills and additional service...I got a can of coke and a box. Not sure what they would have helped with even if I did sit down.
