Look, this is easily the best fried chicken you will ever have. Its been as consistent and delicious as can be, every time I've been! All of their chicken is amazing but if I had to recommend one thing, and only one thing, it would be the honey garlic wings although their secret spicy would be a very close second. I love this place, the chicken is so fresh and the olive oil they fry it in doesn't dry it out. Favorite thing on the menu is the "Cheesling" flavor (I think I spelled that right), it's like a crust made of crushed up Parmesan flavored Cheeto crumbs if that flavor ever existed. I like that they have variety of flavors, spice levels, and chicken batter. You can pin this chicken up against Popeyes, Bonchon, and Wing Stop and it might come out on top between all 3 categories which is pretty cool for a Korean Fried Chicken place to be so diverse. I love trying new things and I had never seen this place before, nor had I been on this specific side of town before. Anyhow, work brought me to the area and I was craving something different for lunch. I came in around 1:30 in the afternoon and there was only one couple seated at a table and a lady waiting for a to-go order. You kind of get thrown off because it feels like a place where you go and order at the cashier and then wait for it to be ready to pick up at the counter. But the cashier informed me to have a seat and then brought out the menu. Very simple menu, I took a quick glance but I decided on the lunch special which include a selection of their boneless wings with a drink for $10. Not bad. I asked her which she recommended between the Secret Spicy and the Spicy Hot. She mentioned the secret spicy had some sweetness to it which intrigued me. I waited a bit, maybe 10 minutes or a little less but when they came out you could tell they were fresh as they were very hot, like pull apart and see the steam hot. I popped one into my mouth and I must say that it was good, not fall head over heals good but just good. It had a subtle spice and sweetness but I did expect more flavor. The portion is pretty big I actually ended up with some leftovers. Service was great. I would come back to try other flavors and maybe update my review accordingly. read more

After coming back from Korea, I had a real hankering for authentic Korean friend chicken that places like Bonchon just could not satisfy. When I saw this place on Yelp, I knew I had to try it, and I was not disappointed! My two friends and I ordered a medium boneless cheeseling, medium bone-in honey garlic, fries, ddeokboki, mozzarella sticks, and makgeolli. First off, the chicken was freshly fried and oh so crunchy. You know the crunch is good when your jaw gets a good workout. The seasoning/sauce for both were perfect. The sides were solid, though nothing really blew my mind. Overall, my craving for authenticity was satisfied. Needless to say, my friends and I were stuffed to the gills after our meal. I definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to experience what real Korean fried chicken is like! If I lived closer, I'd be back every day, but for now I'll have to settle with every once in a while. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I was recommended here by a friend, but the soy garlic wings tasted old and made me feel nauseous. The gangnam wings were average. The meat itself felt dry and the breading had a weird texture for the soy garlic. This was all before I was eating a soy garlic leg and found hair embedded in the chicken.......def not worth $30. Worst experience! We typically go to the Westheimer location, but happened to be in Katy today. Stoped in to get our usual, two large honey garlic and parmesan fries. After waiting 30 and dropping $70 my son goes back in because we didn't have the ranch cups we requested. So at the Westheimer location the wings come with ranch. We don't ever get radish, but sometimes it's in there. We then order two extra ranch. Never ever have we had the problem we encountered today. My son gets back in the car and says, "they said the chicken doesn't come with ranch". So I go in and ask if this location does things differently than the other location. I'm obviously irritated because again after waiting 30 mins and spending $70, the last thing I want to do is got back and forth with someone about $.50 cups of ranch. Thanks to the older lady who gave me to ranch and tried to diffuse the situation. That other girl needs training and would rather go back and forth with customers than to do what's right. The fact that she said that the sauce on the chicken is the sauce and that's why they don't give dips, is crazy. Put it on the menu so people will know!! I will continue to patronize this place, well maybe, but never again will I visit this location. On top of that, the chicken barely had sauce on it! Ridiculous! read more

The best Korean bbq chicken I've had in Houston. I prefer it over Bonchon. Chicken was amazingly crunchy and coated in sauce to perfection. I ordered the secret spicy boneless chicken wings. The spice level was to my liking, which is not much, as I don't normally enjoy overly spicy foods. I also ordered a side of fries (wont be doing that again). The food here is sooooo good and at a reasonable price. I ordered some both to eat at the store and to go and the crunch was insane even for the to go ones. All the sauces are really good, but my favorite is the Secret Spicy. Cheesling is really good if you have kids or someone who's not super crazy about Korean flavors. The chicken is amazing, it's soft and tender with different flavors to choose from. The preparation technique and fresh oil really give the chicken a crunchy taste on the outside without the meat tasting oily. I love spots like this! This was my first time coming here and from the moment my girlfriend and I walked in we were greeted and sat immediately even with a busy lunch crowd. The waitress explained the menu in depth and offered us many different options. We decided on the calamari, tteok bokki, and the Gangnam style wings. The owner is especially warm and welcoming and offered to explain the menu, but as a foodie I assured her I knew I was in for a real treat. I really did not want to break the 4 star+ review party but I know they can deliver better than today's lunch. I saw this Korean fried chicken place near my favorite Hoodadak so I gave it a try for a change. Walking in it definitely ticks the boxes with clean, modern interior and the perfunctory K-Pop videos playing on the music system and TV. The simple menu suggested a lunch combo was my best bet. I asked the cashier up front if the Secret Spicy was a bit sweet and she said it was while also admitting the Spicy Chicken with "3 chili" rating was too hot for her. Based on that, I definitely ordered the Spicy (or so I thought) and didn't pay close attention to the receipt. Note with the soda combo you also get the pickled sweet/sour daikon. After a reasonable wait a big plate of boneless wings arrived. After I tried 2 - 3 pieces I realized it was too sweet and not that spicy. I checked my receipt and of course she keyed in the wrong flavor. I told her about it and she just offered to give me some of the spicy sauce on the side. I didn't press the issue as it was too much chicken and I ate some of it anyway. The quality is good with tender chicken that's obviously well marinated but I just couldn't get past the cloying, sticky sweet sauce. I also think they could give less chicken and provide some fries on the side (I admit I'm influenced by Hoodadak's lunch combo plate.) Another recommendation is with sticky wings they should include an individually-wrapped towelette so you can clean your hands at the table. I will have to try this place again ordering the right flavor and perhaps go for straight-up bone-in wings instead. In the meantime I advise to order carefully and check your receipt. read more

I asked for a copy of my receipt for submit to my company, this lady points at the order ticket. So happy there are more Korean fried chicken places opening up in Houston, I hate being limited to the Dallas area for good ones. Sunday night, there are only 2 other groups of diners and 2 take-out orders throughout the night with us, a pretty reasonable crowd for that date and time. Very friendly service and they checked up on us a few times and refilled drinks. The two of us ordered 2 medium orders of wings and one order of fries, and we barely finished it all! The BB wings look like regular/plain/original, but they actually pack a spicy punch in the deliciously golden crunchy exterior! Gangnam Style wings are also spicy, but you can tell with the chili pepper slices laid on top, and are well balanced with saltiness in the sauce. Unfortunately, this flavor was not crunchy at all, probably because of the sauce. Of the two, I prefer BB flavor. I wish the flavors were available across all chicken types. For example, you can only get Secret Spicy in whole chicken, Gang Jeong in boneless, and BB in wings. I generally love Gang Jeong but don't like boneless, so I probably will not try it from here. read more

We heard about this place from a friend raving about it. I thought it was in the food court, but it is located in the parking lot close to ZTAO supermarket. I ordered two lunch specials to go. The Secret Spicy and the Honey Garlic. Since it was lunch time, I got a bonus of 2 canned sodas. Also, for us, one order would have been enough for us for take home, because we always have other foods at home. Both of the orders were excellent, and we couldn't decide which was better. Both were juicy, yet still crispy and fried perfectly. That said, we don't have a lot of history with Korean BB.Q, which I also learned is not the same as American BarBQ. The taste was the best fried chicken I have ever had! I am not sure about the side dishes, maybe I'll try one next time. Also, I will try the Hot Spicy next. The Spicy was a bit spicy, just not enough for me. I want to also add the service was excellent, and owners very friendly and welcoming. Normally, I don't give out 5 stars for take-out, so this is my exception. Will definitely return for more. Sadly, I found out ZTAO supermarket is closing soon. I have tried a few different flavors of their chicken and haven't had one I didn't like! The honey garlic is probably my favorite but I have also had the cheesling, soy garlic, and secret spicy and they all taste amazing! They also sprinkle Parmesan cheese on their French fries which was the perfect touch! Super friendly service and great pricing!
