Went with a friend for breakfast yesterday. Haven't been here in a while and we ordered breakfast. As soon as we finished eating, the waitress(Victoria) kept coming back and forth to take our check. I asked her if she needed it now, and she said "yes, there's a line out the door". She was very rude. Haven't seen my friend in a while, we had to leave and sit in the car in the parking lot to talk. my dad has been a regular there for so long he fixes the restaurant up and knows the owners well, even does work at their house, but Today my father was there to fix the floors when 2 employees (a boy and a girl, names unknown for now) decided to pick fun at him for his pants hanging low. my father has parkinsons and rocks but he also had a spinal fusion so his "butt crack" looks like it's showing but it's a scar. this boy pushed him around and tried to push him out the door, thinking it's funny, until my dad pushed back and this piece of shit punched my dad in the face so hard he has to get stitches down the side of his face. I do NOT recommend going somewhere where the EMPLOYEES feel it's ok to ASSULT, not just a customer, but a person BEING PAID to do a job SO PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY GO THERE. and to top it off they called the police the second he had swung and hit him so the restaurant wasn't at fault. absolute bullshit, and I've been a customer there with the one woman behind the bar having a nasty attitude the whole time and other shitty employees who dont even give you a refill. After getting some bagels in NYC again since starting to come out to this place for my bagel fix (oh so many delicious BB's bagels), I gotta give credit where it's due: these are just as good as your corner bagel places up in the tri-state area. I need a 4.5 rating only because it's hard to give anything a 5. This is a great hidden find open for breakfast and lunch only (always a good sign). As raved about in some of the other reviews, the bagels are their specialty - hand rolled and boiled on site and a huge selection of schmear. They say they are the only ones anywhere around that still hand roll their bagels. These are not the typical round bread, but true tough, chewy bagels with great flavor. The breakfast was country style food with a country style crowd although the quality was way beyond my expectations. They served a ham called Taylor Ham that I had never heard of before but was very tasty. Even risked the corned beef hash which was made with real corned beef and real potatoes instead of the scary canned stuff. Pancakes and French Toast were simple, straight forward and tasty. We will definitely be back again to explore more of the menu. I definitely recommend a try. read more

By far the best bagels I have had in the south. I have tried them all, einsteins, bagel boys, Panera, etc and none have that authentic NYC taste. The salt bagels are terrific and the sesame are the best I've ever had. Trust me, put this on your list. read more

Heard this place was amazing? Until we had to walk out after waiting 20 min to be served once being seated. We where overlooked constantly while others where served who arrived after us. So In the end we didn't get to taste the "amazing"food as we couldn't get a server to arrive at our table. read more

I called over to reserve 4 dozen bagels for Saturday morning, the day before. This was to alert them incase they needed to make extra and and they wanted to charge me a 15% catering charge. This place is really good. We had hash and lox Benedict that were top notch and the portions were plenty big enough. The staff is accommodating and helpful but not exceptionally friendly more professional. They need to try to be a little more quiet when dumping plates in the dinning area as it makes it seem like they dint care if they disturb their guests. A friend turned me on to this place - I never would have found it otherwise. It is off the beaten path, but well worth it as they have real, honest-to-God, water-raised New York bagels. Not the bread fashioned into a bagel shape as found at Atlanta Bread Company, Panera, Einstein Brothers and other false purveyors of bagels, but the crusty exterior and chewy inside found only in a real bagel. They have every kind of bagel imaginable with a wide range of schmears; the bagels, smears, and diner options are pricey but good. After many visits, my wife can't get past the homemade corned beef hash breakfast and I'm stuck on the many varieties of bagel breakfast sandwiches. So yes, it is crowded, and can be loud, with a wait both on the bagel line to the right of the door and the table line to the left, and the parking lot crowded, but they are just that good. A place without lines speaks volumes. Only open for breakfast and lunch, but well worth the trip and wait. read more

Horrible service. Have been waiting in line for 30 min for a table to open up. Once a table opens up, the waitress pulls someone from back of the waiting line who had just walked in to sit them. My wife visited BBs today for probably the last time ever. We have been going there for years by the way. The wait staff that we encountered today was probably the worst that i have ever experienced. The young blonde haired girl was rude when my wife asked her to simply wipe down the counter. The young guy with the tattoo's was exceptionally rude and walked by me and my wife several times. My wife's order sat for about 10 minutes in our plain site but no one would even look at us. Toward the end of the meal, I asked for a refill of sweet tea but "Mike" just acknowledged me and walked on. Another waitress finally helped us. When we paid for the check, he just dumped it down and walked off. Not a thank you or a word. Also, there was plenty of tension and drama in the place as the staff apparently was making comments about other guests and didn't like the fact that a patron brought "a different girl" in with him. The sad thing is, the food has always been great. Anyway, there are too many good places in the area to go to without that kind of attitude. Shame on the owners for allowing this to go on. After reading the other comments posted before mine, it's obvious this isn't the first complaint. read more

Best bagels in town hands down. I am a northern transplant. The thing j missed most about living up north was a REALLY hood bagel. Thank goodness for BB's. Some people think that the quick service is a little on the abrasive side, but I think it is just part of the genuine New York Deli experience.
