I really wanted to like this place based on the cool, modern design and decor but seems like the owners just spent all their money on design and none of it on actually making the food taste good. Since the food is sitting on a warm table, the chicken and the yakisoba noodles came out bland, dry and cold. Not how you want your teriyaki. This place is not fresh and it's pretty much same as getting your food from a gas station, maybe worse. I could only finish half my food and had to throw the rest out. We has BB's catered for my friend's gradation party and it was perfect! The communication from the owner was excellent, they were very accommodating with our requests, and they were on time to the minute on the day of the party. The chicken is locally sourced and fresh,as advertised on their giant menu,and tastes as such (no weird gristle pieces to be found here!) BB's Teriyaki is some of the best I've had, and arguably the best place to eat in University District, dare I say the world? From just stepping foot into BBs, you can tell the owner cares about providing the customer a great experience, from the tasteful decor and clean environment. Of course, the food is what makes BB's shine. All of their items are fresh, cooked perfectly, and delicious. The broccoli side is steamed just right. I've tried both salads, but have to say the mixed greens salad is my favorite. The dressing is a take on the typical dressing you get on a side salad from a local teriyaki joint, but much more flavorful. I like getting the yakisoba as the base for the chicken, but they have white or brown rice as well. Other sides are the vegetable stir fry, the cabbage salad, and you can go vegetarian with the tofu. The chicken is the crown jewel of BBs, boasting flavor and tenderness. The sauce is made from scratch and boy, did I get lost in it. It's flavorful and complex (you can get it spicy or regular, both are equally as tasty). Other teriyaki places' sauce is sweet, syrupy and heavy...not so with BBs. Flavor is the name of the game. It doesn't bog you down and sit heavy in your stomach like other teriyaki can do. You can also go vegetarian at BBs and pipe it up with the Coke Freestyle® Soda Machine. They have a goodly portion for a ~$9 plate, salad for feeling okay about indulging 5 times a week like I do, not a ton of variety but they do one thing and they do it MAGNIFICENTLY. Gordon Ramsay himself most often criticizes restaurants for having too large a menu. Really nice space with outdoor seating. They have a veggie (tofu) option. I had high hopes going to this new restaurant on the Ave. It had the atmosphere of fast casual, which has been getting very popular in the last few years. The first thing that struck me as odd was that their only protein was chicken, which seemed limiting. You then can choose 3 sides to go with your chicken including yakisoba noodles, broccoli, and steamed vegetables. You can get no meat, which is probably a good thing since the chicken that I was given was undercooked. I didn't notice this until a few bites, but when I did i decided to eat around it since the noodles were pretty good. The customer service was fine, but for a restaurant it left a lot to desire. If you go here I would say get the yakisoba noodles with broccoli and veggies, and to make sure the chicken isn't still red. I've added 2 pics to show you what I mean, and looking at the popularity of the restaurant it was probably just a fluke. Regardless, not with the price. read more

Solid teriyaki, served in the style of Subway and Chipotle, letting you choose the type of meat, rice and vegetables that you want. Service was quick and inviting. We had a nice conversation with the owner, who decided to open his own teriyaki place after years of working with his mentor BB, who has a Japanese restaurant in First Hill. Ignore the bad reviews. The food is ok and they are pretty quick to serve you. The flavor is good. Down time seems to be 2-4. Freshest food at 11 when open till about 2 and then at dinner rush. It's pretty clean and the atmosphere is comfortable. The music can be loud sometimes. Parking is difficult but when isn't it in seattle. Not kid friendly as far as high chairs or boosters. But kids like noodles and rice right ? No changing table in the bathrooms. But clean. A lot of college kids in and out. read more

I don't understand how this place is in business. I ordered spicy chicken. I got chicken that seemed like it has been boiled. No char, no texture. The "teriyaki," if it was teriyaki at all, tasted watered down. There was no glaze to the sauce. It was as if the chicken had been boiled in watery teriyaki sauce then slapped on a huge portion of rice (no side salad or dressing, apparently you have to order that a la carte here). I actually couldn't force myself to keep eating it, despite how hungry I was. Very disappointing. I don't like to leave bad reviews. But sometimes, as in this case, I feel it's my public duty to warn future patrons. There are too many other places nearby for decent food, so don't waste your money here. read more

Literally so bad. This isn't a good teriyaki place if you're really hungry... I wouldn't suggest it. Chicken is very bland and soaked in sauce. Noodles are like top ramen. The rice tastes old. I think the only decent thing about this place is the gyoza? But that's still pretty questionable. Enter at your own risk. read more

There are tons of teriyaki options in Seattle, but BB's is by far the best I've ever tried for flavor and quality. I recommend it to everyone.
