BB's is a fresh take on teriyaki, they feature a simple menu with natural and locally sourced ingredients. They offer a variety of vegetable options for your base rather than just brown or white rise like other teriyaki places. I'm a student at UW, getting ready to head back to school next month, looking for a new place to eat. I saw that BB's opened up recently and I gave it a try. I got the white rice, spicy chicken, gyoza, and extra spicy sauce. Everything was very good, but the gyoza dipped into the spicy sauce was what blew me away. The combination of the two led to a savory and delicate treat that would make me a regular on the single dish alone. The seating is comfortable, having multiple configurations to sit in (normal table and chairs, elevated table and chairs, bench seating, etc). Also, the amount of wood they use, compared to the plasticky finishings that most businesses use, just gives the restaurant a more comfortable ambiance. Chicken was delicious - I got it spicy with yakisoba - really appreciated that it was not overly saucy/sweet...this place is not trying to cover up low quality meat! I checked out BB's for the first time this weekend and it was absolutely delicious! I haven't been to a teriyaki spot that has a custom selection food line so I wasn't sure what to expect- amazing concept. You're able to choose the type of rice, chicken, sides and sauce. Had BBs for the first time today at 11:20 am. Food was fresh and amazing. Twice the amount of food for the same price at any other quick restaurant nearby. I had white rice, yakisoba, stir-fry veggies with the spicy chicken and spicy sauce. Had great flavor and for an even extra kick I added the chili sauce. As I was sitting and eating with friends it was crazy to see how fast people were able to receive their food that were in a hurry. It was around 2 min per customer that got their food to go. I didn't think I would this chipotle-esque teriyaki place because, why would teriyaki ever need to be customized? I realized though that I never ate the salad that comes on the side at most teriyaki places, but at BB's there are much tastier options for sides like yakisoba or stir fried veggies. That is how I was won over. Also everything there is compostable, which is awesome expect that if you bring home leftovers the box will get soggy. So if you have leftovers, which because of the large portion sizes I usually did, just stick it in a tupperware and all will be well. read more

Interesting place! Quick, friendly service. You pick three mains (rice, veggies, yakisoba noodles etc.,) protein, and sauces. Flavor with the sauces is good. Has "chipotle style" way of building their dishes. I'll be back! $8.75 for an entree! Yum EDIT: The food is alright. If you're looking for Seattle teriyaki done right, then BB's is the place. Food is locally sourced and fresh, the staff is extremely friendly, and the restaurant itself is open and bright. The containers, cups, and flatware are all compostable as well - a sign to me that the ownership at BB's does the small things right. But most importantly the teriyaki is awesome. Personally, I recommend the brown rice, cabbage, broccoli, spicy chicken, and spicy sauce combo, but I've had the tofu and it's excellent as well. Seattle has a thing about Teriyaki and BB's is NOT it. I had lunch with a friend, the white rice was over cooked and mushy. The teriyaki chicken had very little flavor. The location is great and I wanted the food to be the same. Not a place I will try again. read more

The healthy aspect combined with the fact that all of the food is already ready to serve is what makes this restaurant unique and deserving of a 5 star rating. Place is very welcoming and the customer service seems to be at the forefront of their mission. I had chicken teriyaki and yakisoba. Food is overly sweet and not tasty. Really disappointed about this new place. It could have been a new hot place on the ave if they had paid more attention on the food taste because they have done a great job on remodeling the place and highlighting that they have a good food source. However, I am actually pretty angry with this place because the food is not only not tasty but also it tastes dangerously sweet. I literally tried pouring water in the container to wash off the sauce of the teriyaki but the sweetness has soaked in so deeply into the chicken. Quick grab-and-go place for good price and pretty large portions. I tried the tofu and original chicken teriyaki and actually I prefer tofu better, which is quite odd to me. Maybe because of the texture. Their tofu is more likely to the Japanese style agedashi tofu but a light fired version. read more

Ordered food Togo from here. I ordered 'extra extra' sauce for both of my orders, because who wants non saucy teriyaki? One of my orders basically came dry with no extra sauce on the side. When you try to call you get an automated system with no option to reach a real employee. You don't get what you ask for, will not order again. Avoid this place. read more

BB's has great value for UW and U District folks. Massive portions and a drink are in the $15 range. Multiple combinations are available, and even when there is a line, it goes quickly. There's plenty of seating, but it's also the perfect takeout food. read more

The staff was very friendly and I had my food within 5 minutes of walking in the door, but the food itself was a little disappointing. I had half yakisoba and half broccoli with half spicy chicken and half regular chicken. The chicken was good, but the yakisoba tasted like a pumpkin spice candle -- would not recommend. Not sure what the low rating is about. When I went during lunch, it was packed and the employees looked like they were working really hard but still managed to be super friendly to everybody. I like all the choices for sides they have - if you don't want rice, they have great vegetable/yakisoba options. I think it's really unique how they offer broccoli as a side.The chicken is also good. Sauce is a little runny but the flavor is there so I'm fine with it. I have heard all sorts of criticisms for this place like it's too expensive, it's chicken doesn't taste good, it is too "white-washed" for teriyaki, etc....but not only did none of these things end up being true, my experience was actually the opposite of it all. It was a great price ($9+tax), good portion size, great tasting everything, and friendly service on top of it all. Maybe there is some inconsistency and that's causing the mixed reviews, but I'd say it's worth it to just try the place - I'll definitely be back! read more

My biggest issue with restaurants - In addition to taste - is usually cleanliness. Most teriyaki places around Seattle are pretty dirty and tired inside and that always affects my experience, even if the food itself is good. BBs is very clean. Clean bathrooms and clean front of store. The food itself is also good - great sauce, moist chicken, and I liked that there aren't preservatives and that a lot of things are GMO and antibiotic free. I also liked that I could customize my order. I got spicy chicken teriyaki over brown rice and cabbage, and enjoyed it. The guy who owns it is super nice too. Overall had a very good experience - factoring in flavour, service and cleanliness - at BB's. Worth a visit if you're hungry on the Ave! read more
