The food was just OK, service was OK but here's what got me. For some breakfast food we paid basically $32.50 for some breakfast food. I am not sure about all these reviews giving it five stars but you can all miss me with that. Then here's the kicker. They charged me 20% gratuity no matter what and then look at the receipt. They charged me $1.47 for an employee care fund. I want all of you guys that is reading this to help me. What in the heck is an employee care fund? I can sure as heck tell you one thing. We will not be back. What you're not gonna do is charge me 20% gratuity and pay for your employees benefits with an employee emergency fund. That hustle is strictly on management. Are you kidding me so for all you guys who are given them five star reviews. I can see why Keith Lee didn't even drive their way. And judging from how far we drove. We will not be driving their way ever again! Look at the receipt! From experience in management you will not be able to sustain this hustle on your customers long term! I would rather contribute to your go fund me page than giving you free money for an employee care fund without any prior warnings.
BearCat CBD: This place has everything ! Bears, Cats, three letters- CBD. Kidding but what it does have is awesome merch and great food and great service. I straight up bought a shirt which I never do because I had such a great time here. The food as fantastic. I enjoyed an app and a main dish. The tea went well to open the appetite and I'm a fan of coffee after a meal. The ingredients tasted fresh and order was cooked to specification. I loved it here and can't wait to come back. Note: there was a wait, this is true and a point of contention- but it's to be expected with quality food and amazing service. I'd advise coming with patience and hunger.
Best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The rest of the food was also cooked to perfection. Perfectly cooked eggs, delicious bacon, and the pancakes are a must have as well. The pancakes were not dry, super flavorful, and mixed perfectly with their syrup. The staff was nice, and the ambiance is modern. Wait is long, but definitely worth it. If I'm ever back in the area I'm coming here for sure.
Absolutely worth the hype! The food is delicious! We went early on a Sunday so there was no wait, but it seems to be a popular spot, so keep that in mind when visiting. We ordered the steak burrito, pancakes, cat daddy, potatoes, and a few of the bottled drinks. Everything was a win! The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. There is seating upstairs and outside. I would definitely recommend this as a breakfast spot!
The best things on the menu are the homemade drinks. The orange juice and Fuji apple oolong had a smooth balance (perfect amount if sweetness) and you can taste how fresh it is. Crab omelet was good, with the occasional soft shell. It was under seasoned presumably to eat with the potatoes, but the potatoes were too salty and I hardly touched them. My friend's Lobster Daddy looked impressive and tasted fine. The biscuit is smothered by the gravy and lobster, so it gets soggy quickly! There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, but this place is always busy with a waitlist. The seating outdoors is lovely, weather permitting.
I had a great experience at bearcat! The food was really great, and the ambiance was nice. I got the couyon daddy (hot) and it was pretty delicious. I thought the flavor was really great, it had nice spice without being too much. The biscuit was nice and fluffy, the fried chicken was really delicious. I loved how crispy the chicken was, even with the gravy. It was a lot of food too. The blueberry pancakes were the star of the show. I don't know what they do to make their pancakes so delicious, but it works. The pancakes had a nice crisp bite & were somehow still fluffy and light inside. The flavor was really great, and the blueberries paired really well with the slightly salty/buttery pancakes. Service here was good. It took a little bit to get our food & but considering how packed the restaurant was I think it was fine. It was a little pricy too, but not ridiculous I stopped in on a Friday around 11:00 - it was pretty packed. We had about a 45 min wait, so decided to walk around the warehouse district while we waited. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll have to streetpark somewhere and walk over or use the garage across the street. Overall I'd come here again, and if the weather was nice I'd definitely sit in the courtyard outside
This is my first taste of new Orleans food upon landing, based on my Uber drivers recommendation. It was delicious! We dined at the bar; the bartenders were super friendly. -Scallop and Grits: YES!!! You must get this! The grits are so creamy, buttery and cheesy. It's so much better with scallops as opposed to shrimp. The gravy was a little salty, but the toast helps mellow it out. -Biscuit with Crawfish Gravy: We ordered this à la carte. I loved this gravy more than the gravy in the other dish. Really good. 20% gratuity is automatically added to all checks for parties of 2 or greater. There's also a 3% employee health surcharge added as well. Save yourself time by adding yourself to the Yelp waitlist via the app (or you can do it in person). We arrived around noon on a Saturday and had a 30-40 minute wait time.
Absolute banger of a spot. The only note is the crazy portions for brunch as one meal is definitely a shareable side between two people (considering how hearty it is). The couyon daddy was phenomenal and definitely something I would get again. The roasted potatoes were also delicious and worth getting. The music playing and interior were very vibey and I can't wait until I'm back in Nola for seconds!
Be WARNED! Price are outrageous and they add 20% gratuity when there are 2 or more people regardless of service quality. Also add 3% for employee healthcare. WHAT!!!!! We will never come back here again. This extra charging is getting out of control. Nice outside sitting. Service was not good but they don't care because they are getting their 20%. Sat on the Patio on a beautiful morning. Looks like there is good parking. Crab nacho dip was excellent. Coffee is Jaguar from Miami, that's a plus. Food was outstanding. Had a breakfast burrito, SW salad and creamy cheese grits. If the were to take care of the service and extra charges they'd have 5 out of 5 stars. People need to be held accountable for bad pricing decisions.
Oh.My.Gaaaawd! Bearcat was on my foodie list for New Orleans and they did NOT disappoint! Now, a forever favorite! If you're in New Orleans, Bearcat is a must try! I was thankful I arrived before the morning crowd as they tend to have a wait. Their menu has a lot of great options, it was SO hard to decide what to get, but I landed on the Scallop and Grits + I added the Shrimp. I was NOT disappointed! My food arrived hot, just how I like it! The scallops were fresh and incredibly flavorful. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and paired well with the delicious grits! All of the staff I talked to were friendly and down to earth! A couple of them even complimented me on my pants I was wearing. My waitress checked in frequently and made sure my water was refilled when needed. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty humid when I visited, so I didn't get to enjoy the outdoor space they have. But if the weather is nice and you enjoy being outside, they have a super cute patio setup in the back. Overall, my experience was 10/10 and I will always recommend Bearcat to someone visiting NOLA!
Exceptional meal at Bearcat. I have been to New Orleans a few times but this was my first time at Bearcat. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. I chose the cat daddy (made it hot) and it was amazing. Finished my plate with no crumbs. I went on a Tuesday morning shortly after they opened and there were quite a few tables already taken. I took a star off for service. The service was pretty mediocre. There was no one at the hostess table so I checked in via the IPad in front...then a hostess came 10 minutes later and sat people who arrived after me. It was confusing. My waitress was okay as well. Service in New Orleans is usually pretty friendly and she was not. More seemed she just wanted tables to get in and get out. She brought my check before I was even done eating. It was a bit odd because I didn't ask for my check and there were tons of tables still open. Overall food is amazing, service could be improved but I would eat here again.
Waited over an hour on a Friday but that but was to be expected and definitely worth the wait. I do wish they took reservations. They were busy and our server was okay. She didn't do anything that stood out. Im personally not a fan of the paper menus because there were 3 different pieces of paper to look at which annoyed me. They should consider QR code menus. The ambiance is very chill. Great R&B music playing, not too bright lighting. Love that they make their juices in house. Will definitely try when I come back! Now for the food!! Note no salt was needed!!! Hot daddy 10/10: I ordered the cat daddy but made it a hot daddy and so glad I did! The flavor here was out of this world!! The biscuit which was buttery and fluffy, paired well with the chicken and crawfish gravy. I do wish there was a little more gravy but overall I was highly satisfied. Side of potatoes 9/10: crispy and flavorful. Bearcat breakfast w/ regular pancake 9.5: food was seasoned well and the bison sausage was delicious. Pancakes were fluffy with crispy edges. The portion sizes were decent too. Rum punch 7/10: small portion but good flavor. Watermelon mimosa 8/10 needed a tad more watermelon flavor but if you like stronger drinks this would be your thing. Blueberry lavender mint lemonade 8/10: mint flavor is slightly strong but overall it was enjoyed.
I was in New Orleans for a teacher's conference. I needed some amazing coffee before each session. I was so glad this place was in walking distance from my hotel. When I tell you they saw me every day of the conference! The food was amazing, the homemade sausages were delicious! My eggs were cooked to perfection, yes you can mess up scrambled eggs. The croissant was HUGE! Took me two days to eat it all. The inside was cozy, I ate inside both times I went. That cappuccino WAS THE BEST THING!!! The staff was helpful even suggested adding maple syrup, who've changed the way I drink my coffee now!

If you don't mind waiting a decent amount of time for food (as in 30-45 mins at the minimum on the weekends), the food is absolutely awesome. Shout out to Yelp though for being a part of their wait list process. Great staff and just a cool place to sit inside to eat a good brunch. I thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom scramble. The highlight was actually not the eggs, but the Cajun seasoned potatoes. Those were awesome. Especially if you add some hot sauce to it. Second kudos to the freshly squeezed orange juice. This is a must for people like us who travel and enjoy food. Loved how they serve it to you in a glass container. We were able to drink it on the go. read more

Amazing food. Great Service. Nice place with a great back patio. We chose this place because they had a fair amount of vegan options, and it did not disappoint! The Vegan Bearcat had delicious potatoes and tofu scramble. My husband's mushroom toast was delicious with whipped tofu ricotta. The cauliflower grits were good - not quite what we were expecting, but delicious nonetheless. The place is hopping even on a weekday, so if you're going during prime brunch hours, expect a little wait, but it's worth it! :) read more

Had an amazing time at bearcat. The food was reasonably priced, given with how things have been going. They do add gratuity to your check automatically, and they also have an employee fund.. not exactly sure what it's for but just know you will see two different charges on your receipt that has nothing to do with what you ordered. There's street parking available if you can find it.. and there's nearby lots. The food menu is vast so look at it before arriving lol. It's a huge restaurant with outdoor seating as well. My server was really nice and helpful with the menu. Overall I'd love to go back when it's a tad bit cooler and I can sit outside. read more
Showed up and got on the waitlist as a solo person. What I've noticed in New Orleans is that even the bar areas tend to be reservation only. Anywho I got in pretty quickly (about 20 minutes). Got the vegan breakfast and the shakerato drink. Everything was cooked well and enjoyable. I would definitely return. The restaurant was clean and there is a casual vibe. We finally made it! So everyone recommended this place when I told them we were going to have a staycation in NOLA Biggest thing for me was there was no wait! We had eggs bacon and potatoes with pancakes and my husband had the southwest bowl The pancakes which came highly recommended were just ok to me. They could use some vanilla or something The bacon was good. The potatoes don't look good but trust they are good. My husband made a clean plate with the southwest bowl. The coffee was Amazing there. I would go again for the potatoes, coffee, and bacon alone read more
Came for brunch before a friend's wedding. We got so lucky because there's usually a wait but we were able to snag a table before a rush. We started off with espresso martinis & the shakerato. I definitely liked shakerato and the coconut milk was a nice twist. Food- I had the biscuit sandwich and accompanied it with grits and potatoes. My friends had the pulled brisket, steak bowl, and i believe the cat daddy! We split the pancakes as well. The food was all hits no misses. Next time I'm in Nola ... We had about a 20 minute walk from our hotel, and boy was this worth it. If it wasn't 90 degrees in June then we probably would have enjoyed our brunch on the patio. Tables were a little cramped to where you could hear every word from the table beside you, but not close enough to get a whiff (did I mention 90 degrees in June?). Our waitress was so so friendly, the type that calls you pet names and makes you feel special. I ordered the crawfish biscuit with an egg over-easy and breakfast potatoes (to. die. for.). If I ate it all, they would have to roll me out of there and I would have been worthless for the rest of the day. My husband got a breakfast burrito that had mushrooms- wasn't my style but he enjoyed it. I also got a cappuccino (perfect) and he got an Irish coffee (they didn't skimp on the alcohol). After brunch, we decided to get a drink and enjoy the patio. You can't beat it! Would definitely go back!! read more
Great service, even better food! Came here before heading to Essence Fest and it was the perfect breakfast spot. We ordered the cinnamon roll which is new on the menu, it was SUPER sweet so if you're not into sweet I wouldn't recommend. I'm not a huge icing person, so I wasn't a big fan. As an entree I ordered the Crawfish Biscuits and Gravy YUMMY! The biscuits weren't thick at all and the sauce was *chefs kiss.* I added scrambled eggs with cheese on top which was the perfect addition. I also had a latte with added vanilla syrup. This is a MUST if you are in New Orleans. It is busy and there may be a wait time, but it is so worth it. Every single thing I tasted here was EXCELLENT. It's not often that I amazed by more than one dish, but everything here truly blew my mind. I started with the black sesame chai, which was comforting, spiced and well-balanced. I then got the vegan breakfast potatoes and added an egg - this was absolutely phenomenal. I rarely get to eat dairy-free dishes at brunch, especially not food this delicious! Finally, I had the vegan blueberry pancakes which were perfectly crispy, fluffy and flavorful. I can't give enough praise to Bearcat and I'll be dreaming about it until I get to return. read more

The food here was insanely good! Those potatoes were next level, and I'm sad I will never find another place local to me (Atlanta) that can do them. The service was great too. Omg! We visited on a recommendation from a friend who had been a few years ago, and wow this was probably the best meal of our trip! The staff was friendly, we were seated quickly, and the restaurant was packed! The food did take a while to come out, but it was worth the wait. We ordered the Ranchero bowl, Crawfish Biscuit, Devils on Horseback, and a pancake. The food was amazing, I have been craving the crawfish gravy ever since! Definitely worth the visit! read more

all the food was delicious , a long wait about an hour but it wasn't anything spectacular besides the pancakes and the potatoes those two were delicious, if i ever came back it'd be specifically just for those. besides the fact everyone got their food and ate before mine ever came , i got full off my drink by the time my food came out from how hungry i was. probably a good 7/10 overall read more
A great place for breakfast/brunch. Plenty of seating inside and out. The staff works quickly to get you settled, seated, and comfortable to order. The food is superb and portions are hefty. The bathroom is outside...but...hear me out... it's large, clean, and air conditioned! Kick back and enjoy some good conversation, a tasty cocktail, and food you can't wait to get home and finish. What an amazing breakfast experience! We were close by the CBD location so we decided to try Bearcat. The atmosphere is cozy and warm the outside patio was full so we were seated inside. The service was great and friendly and the server answered any questions we had about the food and preparations. One of the party was dairy free and they went out of their way to make sure his needs were met. I opted for the breakfast sandwich with bison sausage and a side of grits, the biscuit was butter and delicious! I really enjoyed the bison sausage and its light flavor as well! The grits however, OH MY! The best grits I have had IN MY LIFE! I asked what made them so good and was told: "We add cream and garlic." Hands down delicious! read more
What a delicious breakfast we had at Bearcat! We went on a Wednesday morning and there was about a 30 min wait. It was an unusually cold the week we were down there so waiting outside kinda stunk but boy was it worth it! If we lived there, we'd probably go pretty often. I wanted a simple breakfast so I ordered the Bearcat Breakfast. It was the perfect breakfast dish. The tomatoes, greens and avocado were a perfect addition. My husband got the Pulled Brisket which was very good and flavorful. I'm not a fan of biscuits but the biscuit served on the side was perfection. I am also a fan of restaurants that keep your water glass filled. You should have breakfast here. read more

We stopped in for brunch during our time in NOLA, and there was quite a wait! The space was pretty big, cute and clean inside. There was also outdoor seating. When we were finally sat, I ordered the cajun crawfish gravy and biscuits which were delicious! The gravy was rich, creamy, and seasoned, and the biscuit was the perfect vehicle for it. Our server was sweet, but we did not see him again after we received our food. And yes, I understand it was right before closing and you may be busy, but we were never checked on again and we ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes for the check! We eventually asked another server walking by for it. Besides the service, this was still a tasty breakfast spot to try. read more

Great breakfast place! I ordered scallop and grits (4.5/5: very creamy and tasty grits, gravy was pretty good, scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned; texture difference btw scallops and grits was minimal though), my friend got biscuits w crawfish gravy that was tasty and another got mushroom toast (4/5: sooo many dif types of mushrooms and very good) and vegan potatoes (quite yummy and crispy). There will likely be a wait but it's worth it. Very cute place that's perfect for breakfast or brunch. read more

GET HERE NOW ‼ Hands down the BEST brunch I've ever had. We ordered the Bearcat Breakfast and the Lobster Daddy, plus the crab dip with added grits and pancakes. BABYYYY The pancakes literally melt in your mouth with crispy edges, the potatoes were seasoned to absolute perfection, and that fried lobster with crawfish gravy on top of that biscuit?! This was my first time at Bearcat CBD, would've been my second but the first time I tried to go, the wait was like, over two hours long. So try to get there early at peak brunch times! I love their other location, but I was curious to try this one. It's just as good! There's street parking, and while I saw some meters the parking didn't actually seem to be metered. Or maybe I broke the law, I don't know! Anyways, I ordered the lapsang souchong tea, it did, in fact, taste like a tree, as promised. But I do recommend their specialty lattes! For my main I ordered the scallops and grits, and it was a very tough decision. But woah! I've never had grits this creamy. Sooo creamy. The BBQ sauce was good, and all four scallops were good. I didn't like the bread they served it with, which is weird, but no one can be perfect. I also had a pancake, which was also very good. Their specialty pancakes are also very good. I'm a big Bearcat fan, so I definitely recommend visiting either location for a special occasion, to justify the price that is. The vibe of Bearcat CBD is similar to the Uptown location, maybe a little more industrial chic. There's more separation between you and other patrons I feel, but you're not totally separate- you can hear their conversations if you're trying, but don't do that. They serve juice in bottles and there's a lot of special-diet offerings, so everyone should feel at home! read more

I absolutely enjoyed the food at this restaurant. I'll start off with arrival. We were not allowed to make reservations so we had to put our name on the waitlist. We waited a little over an hour. We stood outside because there is no place to stand inside. It was hot so we definitely tried to stay cool with our personal fans. The food was delicious. The pancakes were cooked to perfection. Crispy on the edges and soft on the inside. The breakfast potatoes were seasoned well with the right amount of crisp. I also loved the crispy fried chicken. I'll definitely come back here. read more

I had the lobster daddy & spinach dip. The lobster daddy was 10/10 ! I got mine with a fried egg because i don't like my eggs runny and I wouldn't change a thing! The spinach and artichoke dip was definitely HEAVY on the artichoke but it was still very good to me. The only reason it can't get a 5 stars is because the lady that checked us in was not the most pleasant. But the food didn't disappoint read more
Continues to be one of my favorite spots. Service is always good and food is consistent. Tried the hot rob instead of my usual crab scramble, and it was sooo good. We came midday during the week, so our wait wasn't long, and it wasn't too crowded. read more
