I have been craving them grits from here since I've left. Yes that's how I'm starting the review lol. Bearcat is a popular brunch spot in Nola rightfully, so you will wait but in my opinion it'll be worth it. We got the lobster couyon and steak and eggs special. My steak was perfectly cooked and my mom really enjoyed the lobster. Everyone raves about the pancakes but I didn't really see the rave. Maybe because I make them similar at home. Overall I can't wait til my next visit.

If you have one brunch place in New Orleans PLEASE let it be this place. This is hand down the best brunch I've ever had. The service was immaculate, the food was fresh as could be and you could tell the ingredients were the highest of quality. And don't get me started on the blueberry lemonade. They make all juices in house and the list was quite long! It comes in a glass obtain we that you can take to go and if you've ever had Cava's blueberry lavender drink this will blow that out of the water! Can't wait to come back and recommend to everyone!

BearCat CBD: This place has everything ! Bears, Cats, three letters- CBD. Kidding but what it does have is awesome merch and great food and great service. I straight up bought a shirt which I never do because I had such a great time here. The food as fantastic. I enjoyed an app and a main dish. The tea went well to open the appetite and I'm a fan of coffee after a meal. The ingredients tasted fresh and order was cooked to specification. I loved it here and can't wait to come back. Note: there was a wait, this is true and a point of contention- but it's to be expected with quality food and amazing service. I'd advise coming with patience and hunger.

Definitely coming back for a full brunch! Stopped in on my way to the airport for a quick bite "to go"! And ended up smashing my Biscuit Sandwich before I left. The Bison Sausage is gooddddddd! 5/5. Well seasoned. The biscuit has a perfect flakiness, slight sweet. But great! Grabbed an Irish Coffee on the way out which was good as well. Bartenders were great! Cute spot!

I rate this place a 10/10. The food was amazing as always! The service was good too, which I was surprised bc of how busy it was. Our waiter was so nice! I got a strawberry lemon drop and it was very good. My friend ordered a cold brew coffee not pictured and she said it was good as well. I then ordered the cat daddy and it was very good I also ordered a side of potatoes and a pancake which was totally worth it. I shared the pancakes with my friend and she enjoyed it as well. I also got the strawberry lemonade (not pictured) it was good too! This is my 2nd time here and the ambiance and everything is always so nice! I will definitely be back!

A New Orleans breakfast staple! I love coming here with the girls for a mimosa or iced coffee and breakfast. Always a fun, casual vibe!

Absolutely delicious - highly recommend for breakfast. Lattes are delicious and so are their juices. Pancakes are OKAY. Service was mostly great and wait was quick! Great location as well :)

Overrated - at best. Salty food (scallop n grits) Service was DESPICABLE including management. Bartender was very good and is the only reason I stayed because he truly tried to redeem them. Do NOT recommend!

I had a great experience at bearcat! The food was really great, and the ambiance was nice. I got the couyon daddy (hot) and it was pretty delicious. I thought the flavor was really great, it had nice spice without being too much. The biscuit was nice and fluffy, the fried chicken was really delicious. I loved how crispy the chicken was, even with the gravy. It was a lot of food too. The blueberry pancakes were the star of the show. I don't know what they do to make their pancakes so delicious, but it works. The pancakes had a nice crisp bite & were somehow still fluffy and light inside. The flavor was really great, and the blueberries paired really well with the slightly salty/buttery pancakes. Service here was good. It took a little bit to get our food & but considering how packed the restaurant was I think it was fine. It was a little pricy too, but not ridiculous I stopped in on a Friday around 11:00 - it was pretty packed. We had about a 45 min wait, so decided to walk around the warehouse district while we waited. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll have to streetpark somewhere and walk over or use the garage across the street. Overall I'd come here again, and if the weather was nice I'd definitely sit in the courtyard outside

Doesn't miss! Never misses. I'll be back. The oysters were cooked to perfection, the grits nice and creamy, and the pancakes were so fluffy. Service 9/10 Ambiance 9/10 I just wish they had a dinner menu or had like a late night menu.

The best things on the menu are the homemade drinks. The orange juice and Fuji apple oolong had a smooth balance (perfect amount if sweetness) and you can taste how fresh it is. Crab omelet was good, with the occasional soft shell. It was under seasoned presumably to eat with the potatoes, but the potatoes were too salty and I hardly touched them. My friend's Lobster Daddy looked impressive and tasted fine. The biscuit is smothered by the gravy and lobster, so it gets soggy quickly! There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, but this place is always busy with a waitlist. The seating outdoors is lovely, weather permitting.

Some of the best bacon and potatoes I've ever had in my life! Sheehan they do not skimp on the seasoning at all! I wasn't sure what to expect since we did pop in for some coffee and decided to eat while we were there. Offer was a 10/10 I chugged that down in 5 seconds and I'm normally a slow sipper. But the real star was the food. Everything was seasoned and came out in a timely manner. Staff were all so nice and I appreciated the cool air inside!

With the recent rain, the usual…read morepotent French Quarter street smells were washed away, leaving the air beautifully fresh and the temperatures perfectly cool. Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! We will be back.

The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

The highlight of the meal was easily the CALAS appetizer. The snapper pastrami brought a wonderful smoky depth that paired beautifully with the horseradish cream, and it was one of the few dishes that felt balanced, intentional, and memorable. A genuinely excellent start. Things became more disappointing once the entrees and cocktails arrived. The Rohan duck breast itself was cooked very well -- tender, properly rendered, and clearly prepared with care -- but what was never communicated by the staff was just how sweet the overall composition of the dish would be. Pairing that with cocktails that also leaned heavily sweet made the entire meal feel one-note and overwhelming by the midpoint of dinner. The red beans and rice suffered from the same issue. Despite the spice topping, the dish skewed surprisingly sweet and didn't complement the duck at all. What frustrated me most was that this felt entirely avoidable. At a restaurant with a cocktail reputation this strong, I would expect the wait staff to guide guests toward drinks that balance the meal rather than amplify the sweetness already present in multiple courses. Instead, no recommendations or warnings were offered, and the meal suffered because of it. I was especially underwhelmed by the Harlequin cocktail, which seems to receive a massive amount of online hype. In practice, it simply didn't justify the reputation. It wasn't bad, but it lacked the complexity and "wow" factor you would expect from a signature drink that's so heavily talked about. Overall, there are flashes of excellence here, particularly in the appetizer course and technical preparation, but the lack of thoughtful service and pairing guidance made the experience feel far less polished than advertised.

Off the bat, I want to say that the hotel is so wonderful and we will be back! The restaurant, not so much. I hate leaving bad reviews and almost never do, but the food wasn't very good and I feel like there's so much incredible food in New Orleans that it's a terrible shame to spend one of our two nights dining here, particularly for a birthday. The peach and burrata salad didn't have much flavor. The dish could benefit from either a drizzle of balsamic, maybe honey, or at least some fresh basil. It wasn't balanced, just creamy with no acid or salt. The ceviche was surprisingly also not very flavorful. Once again a notable lack of acid. The shrimp was on the fishy side, and it was served with plantain chips that were not large enough to be used as scoops, though ostensibly they were the vehicle for the ceviche. We fumbled with trying to get the ceviche on the chips until eventually giving up and just using a fork. We ordered the littleneck clams and added on the rolls so we could mop up the sauce. When the dish arrived, it came with three rolls, and then two minutes later our server brought the rolls we ordered--totally neglecting to mention that it already came with rolls. We had a silly amount of rolls on a small table that we did not end up eating, and on top of all this, the rolls were very dry and not fresh. They were toasted, but you could tell they hadn't been very fresh to begin with. Our final dish was the snapper, but unfortunately our server forgot to put that order in. She was very nice, but I sensed maybe not that experienced. She put the order in when we were done with everything else, and we realized that it was going to be a while. At this point we honestly just wanted to get out of there. So, I told her to not worry about it after all and that we didn't need the snapper. I communicated this immediately after learning that the order hadn't been put in when we ordered it. We waited around a long time for her return, hoping to request the check when a man emerged from the kitchen and came up to our table. He asked us if we wanted the snapper or not in a very irritated and gruff tone, he was not happy. I told him we did not, and mentioned that our server neglected to put the order in, and he walked off. I did not appreciate him aggressively marching out to confront us in front of the whole dining room like that, it was weird and unprofessional. He ended up coming back and expressing that there was a miscommunication, but it was inappropriate for him to be confrontational in the first place and if he required clarification, it's the server's job to be the liaison. In spite of the gorgeous, romantic atmosphere, our experience here was just very weird and stilted. It made me sad that my husband had to have such a strange birthday. Stay at Hotel Peter and Paul and make dinner reservations elsewhere.
