I took a chance on Beasties because I had no idea they replaced the previous restaurant, and despite the Now Open sign it was completely dead inside and out, no customers at all. When I went in the staff were working to put things together still but were kind, attentive, and quick. The food was great. I got a couple of double burgers, smash tacos, and fries To go. Everything was incredibly flavorful. And very generous sizes in terms of price. $12 for a double smash burger with all their toppings + queso on the side is a pretty dang good deal. I hope Beasties is successful and starts getting some attention, it's well worth it. I'll be back soon next time I see a movie at the AMC next door. read more

They just opened today and we were their 3rd customers to come in and they were absolutely amazing. Super friendly staff. Their menu is super unique. I usually don't enjoy caramelized onions, however, the amount of it on the burger was perfect. I hope they get the sales they deserve ! Ok let's break it down...... For the burger. The bun is great. The beef used is very very good. You should like chorizo if you're going to order a burger here. For me I find it a little overpowering. You should also like caramelized onion, and jalapeño to get the full effect of this burger. You need all of the ingredients. It's not a burger for me, but I'm sure it's a burger for a lot of people. I think it's very very good. I really like the french fries. They seem to be fresh potatoes like five guys. They are crispy and soft on the inside and have a great flavor. Try it. The "uno" burger was a decent size and the flavor was yummy. It looks on the smaller size but it makes up with flavor and was filling. It was too late for me to have ordered the "dos" or "tres" ( one, two or three patties). My 10 year old loved the crispy chicken. One piece was enough. Lastly, don't sleep on the churros! Took me a couple days to write this review but me and my girlfriend came on a Tuesday night 12/9. It was relatively slow this night with just another couple in there with us. They have a nice outdoor seating area but we decided to opt for the bar style seating inside. It's pretty small inside but the atmosphere definitely gives burger/taco to go joint (which I like to be honest). We both decided to go with their smash burgers and fries. We were then greeted by I believe the owner, if I remember correctly, his name was Tom. Very nice guy, wanted to make sure we were comfortable and just informed us of a couple of things regarding the business itself and also just wanted to make his presence know just in case we had any concerns or questions. We received the food in about 10 minutes or less after ordered, definitely came fresh off the grill. The cheeseburgers were something I've personally never had before (chorizo, carmelized onions and jalapeños and of course cheese). The burger also came with this sauce on it that was really good and a side of their queso sauce in case we wanted to dip. It was different from your classic burger but I enjoyed every bit of it. It was delicious, perfectly cooked, the quality of the meat they use also showed, extremely juicy. Everything about it id come back for. The fries were just your standard skinny cut French fries and they come with a packet of tapatio which I didn't end up using. The fries were seasoned well, nothing special but no complaints on them. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the side of queso sauce the burger comes with, it had this, what i believe to be is truffle (I could be extremely wrong on the flavor) that was at times just overwhelming to me. Other than that, everything about the meal was absolutely delicious that I'd definitely come back for. We also tried out their horchata soft serve ice cream. We were told by Tom that they came up with the flavor themselves and we applaud them because it was absolutely delicious. All in all, this place is worth giving a shot. You will NOT be disappointed. This is my new favorite place for sure! This is a great fusion ideas and I think it's the best smash burger in Long Beach. I love the double because it comes with nacho cheese and chili peppers perfectly satisfying and delicious! The team that works there is great and friendly and the place is clean inside and outside. Beasties is the new spot near AMC theater at Marina Pacifica. Everything was delicious. My spouse had the Dos combo smashburger and thought it was fabulous. For those looking for gluten free options - the smash tacos (a yummy smash burger in a corn taco) and fries are gluten free as is the cheese. The flavors were great and the food portion with price point reasonable. I'd rate this as easy bite, comfort food spot. Hopefully, they'll put some tvs outside as it will be a great sports watching spot with friends given the outdoor seating. Right now they only sell beer. read more

If you're thinking about it, don't do it. Apart from a sprinkling of chorizo there isn't anything that sets the burgers apart from a typical smash burger. The jalapenos barely come through. And the cheese sauce that comes on the side or on top of the cheese fries seemed closer to melted plastic than a dairy product. Skip it. The employees were friendly and the food was quick though, I gotta give them points for that. read more

Amazing, original and filling! Just different enough to make me want to keep coming back!

First off this place does have a great vibe and an amazing concept. So I am not ready to write this place off. Unfortunately, the execution needs some work. We went on 9/20/ 2025. Staff were friendly, passed out a water bottle and shirt to us. It was BOGO on the smashburger all day. So we ordered smashburger, a Beastie Fry, Cheese Fry, and two Large Sodas. Menu said they offered Cucumber Sprite. So I ordered thus, but Unfortunately they didn't have it. So it was a Dr. Pepper and a Diet Coke. Next we found out the soft drinks had absolutely no carbonation. We tried from behind the counter and we tried at the refill station. So we got Iced Tea. I understand when you start a new place, things happen. Where they lost me is when I heard the Manager talking about the "No Carbonation" because they knew and were still charging customers full price for drinks without a sign or telling everyone the sodas have no carbonation. At least then people could have bought bottled beverages. The burger was just "ok" as the crispy chorizo on my burger was actually burnt. The fries were good, the DJ was playing and the Art on the walls was a great representation of Long Beach. We will try again when we go back for tacos. If the soda machine is fixed and the food is good, I will delete this post and make another with a much better score. I really want to love this place. Well we will see.. read more
