We dined tonight at Copley's during Restaurant Week here in Palm Springs. Copley's is both upscale and casual, with a romantic patio featuring desert plants, a fire-pit, and mountain views under the stars. The building was originally the guesthouse/pool house of Cary Grant. The outdoor courtyard used to be the pool area for the estate. The restaurant opened here in December 2004. The Restaurant Week three-course menu offered a variety of options for each course. Our group each ordered the Copley's Caesar Salad consisting of romaine hearts tossed in house-made Caesar dressing, topped with shaved Parmesan and anchovy's (for Ernie and me). The surprise was the pineapple croutons -- chunks of fresh pineapple coated in a mixture of corn flour, rice flour, cornmeal, and paprika. The coated pineapple is then fried until golden brown and used as a unique topping for a Caesar salad. Amazing. As for entrees, three of us ordered the Crispy Chicken Schnitzel and one ordered the Barramndi. Both were outstanding. Finally our table tried both dessert course options, the apple streusel and chocolate duo and the toffee and date English sticky pudding. Yum. We went during restaurant week, on at Saturday night at 8:30p. The Prefix menu was 3 courses for $59 and looked good. We have enjoyed Copley's on past visits and the service was alway excellent but the service was def off. I was not sure if it was due to the kitchen being in the weeds (would seem off given the prefix menu) or if the front of house was short staff but the cadence was way off, everyone seemed to be rushing and the table next to us had their food brought out in the incorrect order for the large group there. For us service was slow but they got it done. The drinks were excellent! As for the courses 1: Lobster Mac and cheese very good Beet salad very good 2: We both went with the pork chop but it was very fatty, came with a very bland polenta and was served on a mound of spinach so large Popeye would have only finished half. We regretted not going for the Chicken Schnitzel for sure as the waiter recommended! 3: Desert as always was excellent we did the duo of apple strudel and mousse really the best part of the meal. Def will go back but hate to see such a consistent restaurant struggle when they had a limited menu that should have made the evening an easy win. read more

Amazing Restaurant Week Prix Fixe dinner, 5/30/26. Our appetizer w the Ahi Tacos and the Beet Salad. Taco were the best tasting I've ever had....beet salad was outstanding as well. Our mains were the Salmon on a bed lobster mashed potatoes with huge chunks of lobster. My husband had the shrimp/fish dish...he throughly enjoyed that. Our waiter was very pleasant, EJ/RJ or something like that. The pace of our evening was perfectly timed...very relaxing and unrushed. Special mention of the hostess this evening. Very pleasant...and when seating...gave us and others the option of two different tables. I like that. She did this a number of times while seating customers...I could see and actually heard her. We were seated on the north side patio near the small fountain...so I could see and hear everything. We're new to the area...and we'll definitely be back! read more

I dine at Copley's every time I visit P.S. The food is always piping hot and delicious and the servers really know how to time the arrival of each course. The outdoor seating under large, beautiful trees is mesmerizing. I started with the Greek salad. The portion was perfect for one - not too filling. It came with grilled octopus, spiced mango and spiced feta. The oregano dressing was really the hit of this dish, sweet yet earthy. I'd love to have the recipe. My main course was the seafood fettuccini. It was lightly covered in a Romesco sauce (red pepper sauce that is Smokey and nutty) but it was a little too light for my liking. Not enough bite! However, the fresh octopus, salmon and jumbo shrimp were hot and tender. The noodles were cooked perfectly. Despite my disappointment with the sauce this dish was still a "10" no doubt. My friend ordered the pork chop. It was tender, delicious and cooked perfectly. Definitely see the photos. Copley's cannot get better than it already is. Dinner at Copley's was one of those rare Palm Springs nights where everything just... worked. Atmosphere-wise, the entrance alone gives you that tucked-away garden energy--intimate, slightly romantic, but still social. It feels like you found something, not like you followed a crowd. First off--no reservation, and still got seated on a Sunday. That alone deserves a moment, because if you know the scene here, that's practically a small miracle. It set the tone immediately: welcoming, unpretentious, but still very much elevated. Service was sharp without being stiff. Attentive, intuitive, and paced exactly right. No hovering, no disappearing act--just that effortless flow you want when you're out to enjoy yourself. They accommodated my request at the bar for a spicy non alcoholic lemonade and upon bringing it over compliments the drink saying " this looks good, you're on to something " #delicious Now the food. Visually, every plate came out composed like it knew it was being watched. The seared tuna was the standout and my personal choice. It also happened to be the special that evening. Perfectly rare, clean cuts, sitting in a rich, glossy sauce that actually complemented instead of overpowering. Balanced, not messy. The braised short rib was deeply comforting--tender, well-executed, with a sauce that leaned classic rather than overly trendy. Smart choice. Dessert sealed it. That dense, lavendercake with the green tea ice cream was indulgent without crossing into heavy. Sweet, but controlled. The kind of finish that makes you slow down instead of regret your life choices. read more

Solid 5! Located close to the heart of Palm Springs. Easy parking in a dedicated parking lot. Charming venue. Wonderful menu selection with options for everyone. Delicious food. Outstanding service! My group of three visited on a Tuesday evening. When we arrived, it was light outside. By the time we left, it was dark and the beautiful twinkle lights lit up the expansive outdoor dining area, making it look magical. Dogs are allowed on the patio. :) Since it was hot during our visit, we chose to sit inside. The indoor dining area was a bit smaller, but simple and charming. The vibe was relaxed and social. There were several groups celebrating special occasions. Some dressed in semi-formal attire. We selected the Pot Stickers, Manhattan Steak, 2 Beet Salads, the Sesame Seed Crusted Tofu, the Ahi Special. Everything came out in the proper order and in a timely matter. Our food was artistically plated and in good portion. The steak was generously sized looking larger than stated on the menu. The sauces, flavors and textures of everything was incredibly delicious! We wanted to love it, we really did. But, while we get that it's historical... and the wait staff were all very attentive, the food was not spectacular. We had the ahi tacos.., and they were good, but the ahi was too mixed in with the other ingredients. It would have been nice to have some lovely thin slices of seared ahi instead of how it was presented. I ordered the duck. And the duck itself was nicely cooked, however all the things that went with it was a melange that didn't completely work. Mushrooms, pickled cabbage, blue berries, spinach and butternut squash? It was confusing. It was trying too hard to be cutting edge and kinda failed. Views were okay, but the court yard felt a little tired. With how dialed in Palm Springs is, even though it's a vintage place, it still needs a redo. It's resting on its laurels. And these days, it's needs a little more cultivated effort. We were originally going to stay for desert, but decided to go elsewhere. read more

Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Went here a few weeks ago to celebrate my birthday with my mom. We requested inside and there seemed to be some confusion for a bit over who was supposed to be serving us. After about 12 minutes I started to nervous. My mom (she's older) doesn't tolerate inattentive service. Her threshold is lower than mine and it can become a focal point, which I really didn't want to deal with. However, once they figured it out, the server who took responsibility for us was a real gem and completely eliminated the attentiveness problem. Questions answered before I asked, water refilled without any intervention, second rounds offered in time to avoid delay. The food was delicious. It's been a few weeks since we were there, and I honestly don't remember everything we ordered, but I do remember that it was great. If you're driving, just know that the parking lot out front is more of a pickup/dropoff zone. There is a giant vacant lot next door, but access is off Belardo north of Chino (which is not intuitive). The lot is sand, so dusty on cars and shoes. Note that Copley's website indicates this is private property and they don't reccommend parking there. I found parking on Chino and there is also the paved city lot behind Our Lady of Solitude right there. Just leave a few extra minutes if you do drive. read more

A Palm Springs landmark restaurant with an unmatchable vibe! If you visit Palm Springs, then a reservation at Copley's is almost a mandatory requirement because it is the epitome of the restaurant scene here. Food (4.5/5) Expect New American cuisine when dining here. There are some daily specials, but the menu items have remained the same for years and are still delicious. Mandatory orders at this restaurant include the bread and butter for two, Copleys Caesar salad, and the New York steak. One of the most famous menu items at this restaurant is the Copleys Caesar salad because instead of regular bread croutons, the restaurant uses pan fried pineapple chunks as the replacement for the bread croutons. The combination breaks the conventional barriers of a traditional Caesar salad and is one of their more creative items to order (do not miss out on this!) The New York steak is also a solid choice here for a hearty meal and the caramelized onions on top pair with the steak perfectly. The truffle Parmesan fries are a little overkill but can be shared generously with the table. The dessert selection is interesting because the chocolate soufflé is more of a molten lava cake than an actual soufflé; yet, the dish itself is not too bad flavor wise. Out of all the items on the dessert menu I'd still order the chocolate soufflé as it was not too heavy compared to the other options. Service (4/5) The service is a little spotty since the restaurant is almost entirely outdoors in a large courtyard. If the restaurant is busy, expect to wait to find your waiter or get a water refill. The workers here are always in a good mood and are knowledgeable of the menu as well. Ambiance (5/5) A truly one of a kind restaurant inside the Cary Grant Estate where diners get incredible views of the San Jacinto mountain range (plan your reservation near sunset for an incredible experience). The old school charm of this restaurant makes for a special occasion as well. Opt out for the limited indoor seating and sit in the outdoor courtyard so you can take advantage of the outdoor views. Limited bar seating is available for people without a reservation, but I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation online as the restaurant is usually fully booked throughout the year. read more

We sat outside and we were seated immediately with no reservation. Nice outdoor centerpiece with flaming heaters thru-out. We shared a Beet Salad and a bottle of Rombauer Merlot. Decided to check out Copleys as it was recommended by multiple people. The menu had a good variety and we decided to order the prosciutto, melon, kiwi salad, prime NY steak and the short rib dinner special. The steak was cooked to perfection and really loved the sauce and caramelized onions on top. The truffle parm fries were the best I've had! It's always nice as a vegetarian to look at a menu at a high-end restaurant and find that there are not only two possible main dishes, but neither of them are pasta. I had a delicious dinner with seasonal vegetables, satiating portions, and tasty sauce. The view of the mountains was beautiful, with the sun setting. I think the outdoor seating is better than indoor for the mountain view, fountain, trees, and ambiance. You might thank yourself for bringing a light sweater because the wind comes cold. I will say that even though this was fine dining, the prices were not as high as one might expect. I had a full glass of sparkling wine from France for $13. The ambience is wonderful, with a beautiful large Courtyard with a fountain and many plantings. The building is the former residence of Cary Grant. The service was impeccable, attentive but not overbearing. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. We had the Pork chop and the Lamb T-Bones (Lamb loin chops). Both dishes were essentially flavorless, with meat that had no taste and a sauce that was similarly bland. We asked for salt, and we're given a salt shaker smaller than a thimble with one hole in it. Apparently, it is offensive to ask for salt at such a restaurant. Even with salt, the dishes were much too bland. I expected far more at this price point. The pork chops and lamb chops that I prepare at home are frankly twice as good as these. read more

Copleys is a contemporary American restaurant housed in Cary Grant's old estate. The outdoor garden is beautiful and definitely where you want to make your reservation. We didn't know and we made our reservation for inside where the atmosphere isn't quite as magical. We split their Caesar Salad, but I wasn't a fan of the pineapple croutons. It added a strange element to the dish. For our mains we had the Organic Chicken Schnitzel, which you can't go wrong with, and the Fresh Seafood Fettuccine in a romesco sauce. Portions are huge and we took home leftovers. Dining here is a special experience, but you could even pop in for a glass from their extensive wine list. read more

21 hours ago New $40-50 I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Copley's on Palm Canyon. We made a reservation and were seated early, which initially felt promising. Our drinks and salad arrived quickly, though the alcoholic beverage was mediocre at best. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. Our waitress, Bianca, seemed pleasant but never returned to check on us after taking our entrée order. We watched as multiple tables including a large party seated after us were served their meals while we continued to wait. After over an hour with no food and no communication, I asked to cancel our order. Even that request took another 15 minutes to be addressed. At that point, I approached the general manager Shannon Mesey to express how uncomfortable and overlooked we felt. As the only non-white table in the area, watching every white table around us receive their meals while we were ignored was deeply concerning. Rather than addressing the situation professionally, the manager responded with shocking rudeness and dismissiveness. As I walked away, she stated, "Well, looks like he's never coming back, but at least the other 300 people are happy eating here." That comment alone speaks volumes about the culture of this establishment. Instead of resolving the issue, management escalated it with arrogance and hostility. No guest should ever be made to feel dismissed, discriminated against, or insignificant. We are locals who support our community restaurants, but we will absolutely not be returning. Palm Springs deserves better hospitality, better management, and far more respect than what we experienced here. read more

Truly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. If I could give negative stars I would. Beyond disappointed in a restaurant that used to be a favorite of mine. Came in for my birthday and ended up leaving upset over my treatment and experience. Staff was either nonexistent or rude, tablecloth was dirty, entree came one full hour after appetizer finished, and the bland/basic dishes that came out weren't worth the wait. No mention of birthday. As someone who worked in fine dining for over ten years, save your money and pick literally any other restaurant in Palm Springs. read more

3.45367 stars My family and I have made our rounds through the Palm Springs restaurant loop, so it was only natural we'd find ourselves at Copleys. The outdoor dining is gorg except the night we dined here, part of it was closed off for a private event, so it was only medium gorg. As with the space, we could only experience some of the menu - they literally ran out of everything meat related - the steak and meat special. It was rather disappointing. We started with the chicken & lemongrass potstickers ($18). The potstickers are stuffed with caramelized fennel ginger + onions, pickled mushrooms + miso on top of a sweet soy sauce + bacon dressing topped with crushed wasabi peas. These were Asiany in flavor, but there was nothing particularly memorable about them except that the wrapper to filling ratio was pretty good. You get 4 for $15 which is a little pricey, but I get it because Copley's is supposed to be fancy. I ordered the Roasted Australian Barramundi ($37). The fish sits on a bed of herb scented farro, asparagus tips, smokey romesco sauce, roasted tomatoes, basil pine nut mint + cilantro pesto. Description wise, there are a lot of flavors, however, the most distinct was the smokey romesco sauce which was an okay good pairing with the fish. Again, there was nothing memorable about my fish except that it was a very nice entree in a very nice restaurant. Copley's was a nice dining experience for both myself and my family, but it's not the kind of place I'd dine at again. read more

Copley's is a lovely restaurant space just the right number of blocks away from the busiest section of Palm Canyon Drive, with their own parking lot to boot. They feature both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can choose between having a casual or more upscale experience. The wait staff is very well trained: friendly, professional, efficient and good at what they do. We arrived early for our reservation, so we posted up at the bar and ordered drinks. My martini was perfectly made, and bolstered by bleu cheese olives, while my wife's "Liz Is Plum Crazy" was a very flavorful update of a Cosmo. Once seated at our table, our server was attentive and gregarious, and very helpful with the menu (this was our first time eating here). To start, we shared the Hawaiian Ahi Poke Tacos -- very fresh, well-seasoned tuna served on sesame "taco shells" (much the same as the cones used for the same type of dish at Spago) with avocado crema and tobiko. These were excellent. Packed with flavor and very enjoyable -- so much so, I forgot to get a photo. On to the entrees. My wife ordered the Chicken Schnitzel, which is a very generous portion of pan-fried chicken cutlet served with veggies and a bed of refreshingly sharp goat cheese mashed potatoes, all topped with a bit of nicely acidic cranberry relish. A very good dish that neatly walked the line between old world comfort food and up-to-date cheffy fun. On the flip side, I opted for one of the nighty specials: Osso Buco, which was served with asparagus and traditional mashed potatoes. It was a beautifully composed plate, and the meat was very tender -- but, overall, the dish was lacking in flavor. The jus was just the right consistency, but added very little in terms of taste. Mind you, this dish was not "bad," it just didn't have that rich and comforting flavor one usually finds with Osso Buco. Despite this, I would happily return to Copley's for great drinks, those amazing ahi poke tacos, and to try something else from the selection of entrees. The only reason I'm giving three stars is because the service is outstanding. The location and ambiance is beautiful. The food though.... So disappointing. I understand that at restaurants that have great chefs and top notch food, they generally don't provide salt and pepper on the table. If that's going to be the case, the food should be seasoned! Every thing was bland. So very bland. Not even mildly seasoned. I expect portions to be on the smaller side at a place like this. But we still asked for a to-go box, we just weren't interested in finishing the food. I had the duck, which was bland with a slightly acidic sauce. The skin was mushy, and there was no sauce to speak of to try and flavor the sad, dry meat. My husband had the short rib special. No flavor or seasoning at all. This historic spot was a must dine when I was in Palm Springs. This restaurant sits on a for Cary Grants guest quarters. While I was told there's no remnants left of Cary grants home, it's still cool to be on his former property. We dined outside. But the decor is very cool if u decide to dine inside. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We started at app and drinks. They make a very good filthy martini. If you do t like olives, they have a sweet martini that is just as delicious. The menu is spendy. So several of us shared items and some ate an app for their entree. I splurged and had the beet salad and the barramundi. Forgot to take a pic. It was beautifully plated and delicious. The portions are small. They have gf and vegetarian options. The ladies restroom was very cute. Gotta check it.
