My mom, my sisters, and I all came in together, and we had such a great experience! We were able to get in quickly, and from the moment we sat down, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We all got different services, and each one was done with so much attention to detail. The technicians were incredibly gentle, never rushed, and made sure we were happy every step of the way. It's not always easy finding a salon that can accommodate a group while still providing great service, but they did an amazing job. read more

I came as a walk in and they accommodated for me, had to wait 30mins. She understood my request for short square acrylics and made sure the shape was perfect. I love the dark purple color I got! I had an appointment and waited 35 minutes. I walked out because what is the point of making an appointment if you're not going to be seen on time. I understand being busy and/or under staffed. But if that's the case, don't open your bookings or approve appointments that you know you won't be able to honor. read more

Had my first appointment with Tanya for a gel French manicure and I'm absolutely in love! She's so sweet, patient, and detailed -- my almond-shaped nails came out flawless. Highly recommend her if you want perfection! Unfortunately, the pedicure by another tech Hang felt rushed and sloppy, but the owner was very understanding. Tanya will be redoing it on Thursday, and I know she'll do a great job. Definitely ask for Tanya -- she's amazing! read more

I happened upon this quaint, no frills salon on my way to the bank. I opted for the manicure and pedicure combo for $50 (I typically go to Redwood City for more affordable prices). DO NOT COME TO THIS SALON! the owner Huang is unprofessional and rude. I came in for a eyelash removal and the first thing she said was that's gonna be $30 because that slots of lashes..mind you i only had a couple lashes on(wouldn't even be considered a fill set,that's how much lashes was still on). I told huang okay i'll pay the $30 but then proceeded to TALK SHIT ABOUT ME AND HOW I QUESTIONED HER PRICING in her language and to her customers told her i need someone to work on it now. i was already frustrated by huang at that poin. i get to the back of the salon where i was getting my lashes done, the lady doing me is going to use REGULAR TAPE UNDER MY EYES. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. then she proceeds to do thw removal process, i start to feel a tingle sensation but didnt say nothing because i needed to be in and out, just did as that when the lady came back and took the tape off, paid and got out. Really satisfied with my nails! Came in as a walk in and they were super nice and the ambiance was so relaxing I almost fell asleep! Lol got dip on my nails and gel on my toes. I felt like they did a great detailed job! One of my pet peeves is when they over dip your nails and put too many layers on. They did the opposite and it looks very clean and crisp! I have been going to see Nina for over 20 years. She is a joy to have do my manicures, pedicures and waxing. I have sent many friends as well and their consistent comment is: "Thanks - Best Place I've ever had my nails done at" and they have all become regulars. Friends from Portola Valley, Atherton and Palo Alto. I still come all the way from Half Moon Bay. I met Nina at another salon when I worked in Palo Alto years ago and have followed her to this salon with her sister. The atmosphere is safe, clean and most customers are also nice to engage with. They have survived when many salons closed during Covid by virtue of their clean and safe hygience practices. Her sister Helen is also excellent as my best friend from Maryland has done her nails with Helen when we go together when she's in town. read more

Lovely and friendly ladies! The salon is nice and clean and has a great cozy atmosphere. Came in on a walk in basis for a regular pedicure. Nina did my nails and really took her time with my toe nails and made sure I liked the color I chose before continuing with the rest of the pedicure. The normal pedicure included a short massage hot stone. She did a great job :) Helen was also there and was incredibly friendly I will definitely be coming back! read more

Unfortunately, I did not have a positive experience at this salon. This was my first time going and I scheduled an appointment online for a manicure. It was hot inside, there was a spider crawling up the wall and ceiling by my station, and I was practically shamed in front of the entire salon for using my debit card rather than cash. I got a dip powder manicure and it started chipping and coming off completely only days after my appointment. I will not be a returning customer. *Update: Helen did reach out to me and offered a free manicure or a full refund. I appreciate her efforts to contact me and to help make this right. My experience sounds like it might been a perfect storm of random circumstances, based on all other positive reviews. read more

Sorry to say our experience was not the best due to staff interrupting our mani/pedis to work on walk-in customers rather than make them wait. Not only did this mean our jobs took longer, but also attention to detail was lacking, and the pedicurist neglected the massage on one of us. Finally, the gel nails done 8 days ago are already lifting at the base. read more

The ladies are nice and salon is clean. I am slNOT so happy with my nails. I wanted a gel fill and she insisted she was using gel powder and never used the ultra light to properly harden the "get" but as a former manicurist...I know acrylic when I smell it. She didn't fill my nails after applying the acrylic. So the area at cuticles are not smooth. I will continue to look for somewhere else. read more

I work in the aesthetic industry and the normal response would have been that I see you didn't pay for your no show and come to an understanding as I did notify her, but she said I didn't. She has tens of appointments daily that I can see and told me one person needed my specific appointment... This could have been waived as I've never seen her. I left with my mouth dropped with how she reacted to me being there. I understand your system, but I didn't understand your behavior. I had tried calling over 5 times over the last few months to schedule and was never called back after leaving messages and your website/scheduling system was not set up to allow to make appointment requests prior to a month ago and then I'm hollered at because I missed an appointment. I am esthetician myself and appreciate the business but don't appreciate this customer service.

Julie aggressively cut my nails down extremely short without listening to what I wanted. She cut them so short that my skin was exposed, and several of my fingers actually started bleeding. I was shocked. In all my years of getting my nails done, I have never had a nail technician cut my nails to the point of making me bleed. What made the situation even worse was that after my fingers were already bleeding, Julie continued to file my nails. She then proceeded to put acetone on all of my fingers, including the areas where my skin had been cut open. The burning and pain were unbearable. Instead of stopping the service, checking on me, or asking if I was okay, she kept going as if nothing had happened. To make matters worse, she then attempted to put some type of glue or ointment directly onto my bleeding finger without explaining what it was or asking for my consent first. I had to stop her myself. I was honestly in disbelief that this was happening. My fingertips are now extremely sensitive to touch, throbbing, and painful. Simple things like washing my hands, typing, buttoning my clothes, or accidentally bumping my fingers hurt. I walked in with beautiful, long, healthy natural nails that I had spent a long time growing out, and I walked out with bloody, uneven, painful nails that look nothing like what I came in with. I brought my concerns to the manager, Alicia, hoping she would take the situation seriously and offer a meaningful resolution. Unfortunately, she wasn't very helpful. I left feeling dismissed rather than cared for. There was very little empathy or accountability for the fact that a customer left injured after what should have been a routine nail appointment. I will be attaching before-and-after photos so others can judge for themselves. The pictures clearly show the healthy nails I came in with compared to the damaged nails I left with. I would absolutely not recommend this salon based on my experience. No customer should leave a nail appointment bleeding, in pain, and regretting their decision to come here. If this is the level of care being provided, other clients deserve to be warned before trusting this salon with their natural nails. I genuinely believe Julie needs additional training and closer supervision before working on clients independently again. A basic nail service should never result in exposed skin, bleeding fingers, acetone being applied to open wounds, and a technician attempting to place an unknown product on an actively bleeding finger without first obtaining the client's permission. What happened was not just disappointing--it was unacceptable. Save yourself the pain, frustration, and heartbreak of having your natural nails ruined. I wish I had never stepped foot into this salon.

i've been trying nail salons all over palo alto in efforts to find nails that are put on straight, look clean/glossy past the first day, and stay on. this place is the first one i've found that does all of that at a reasonable price ($70 first time, $50 the following visits) and i will be coming back! i walked in and a woman named helen was with me immediately. unlike most places where they shave your nail down to oblivion, it looked like there was a special nail template thing that allowed her to shave less while still gluing them smoothly. throughout the whole time (about an hour) she meticulously shaped my cuticles and around the nail and payed close attention to every single part of the nail. it's clear that helen and the rest of the salon care greatly about making each nail beautiful and take pride in their craft. read more

I was really looking forward to a fresh set of nails, but my recent experience was quite disappointing. As you can see in the photo, the polish wasn't applied evenly, leaving gaps and uneven edges around the cuticles. It's not neat and clean as expected; there's visible staining from the dip powder around my cuticles, making it look messy and unprofessional. For a professional service, I expected much more attention to detail. Unfortunately, this didn't meet my expectations for quality, and I'm unsure if I'll be returning. UPDATE: The salon reached out to me, apologized, and kindly offered for me to come back to have the work fixed or redone by another technician. A friend recommended this nail salon, and I'm so glad I tried it! Finding a quality salon that doesn't cost a fortune in the Bay Area can be a challenge, and this place is a great option. I went in today and paid around $65 for my nails, which is a good, economical price, especially for the area. The staff was fantastic, especially the technician who did my nails. She was incredibly kind and really listened to what I wanted. The service was top-notch, and it was cool to see their work. The salon has a great vibe, with a relaxing atmosphere and nice music. This was my first time going to this salon, and I had a great time! I was in a rush for acrylics, so I just walked in, and Helen started working on my nails almost immediately. She was very kind, focused, and we chatted intermittently! Plus, it wasn't hard to decide on a nail type, and she had a great understanding of exactly what I wanted. I've been going to Helen for 4 years now and Nina for a year. Both of them are very sweet and take care to be extra careful at this time. I've had many people do my eyebrows before, but Helen is by far the best. She knows exactly how I like my eyebrows and nails done. And that's what makes Helen special - she takes the trouble to remember. She's kind, humorous and thoughtful - so much so, she's become a good friend over the years. I went in with an acrylic set. My goal was to have the acrylics removed while preserving the length of my natural nails underneath. I knew this might not even be possible because my natural nails are VERY weak and I had had acrylics for sooo long. What happened was not just disappointing--it was unacceptable. Save yourself the pain, frustration, and heartbreak of having your natural nails ruined. I wish I had never stepped foot into this salon.

Thuy is located in the back right of hair international and is such a lovely person. Great conversationalist and makes the time fly by as you watch her work her magic on your nails. I got a powder dip and I appreciated that she really took her time to do my nails when I feel like a lot of people rush these days. I don't get my nails done extremely often but I'd make the trip out to Palo Alto just to come back to Thuy. Thanks for my beautiful nails!

I was serviced by Nancy - she was super warm and welcoming, very professional, gentle with my nails, and did a really good job! The buffing of my nails was an extra $5. The prices are on the higher end, but its worth the experience and top tier customer service. The nail salon is beautiful inside - its crisp white, with greenery decorum! I definitely plan to return!
