You can either take the stairs or the elevator. If you opt for the elevator, there's complimentary wine set up that you serve yourself. This would be great if the elevator took longer, but you are already there before you can finish pouring. I like that they have couches for you to sit at while you wait for your table. It's an open kitchen and you can see all of the action. The energy felt great here. We ordered the cast iron focaccia and Tuna Tonnato. The Focaccia is probably the best I've ever had. It was light and airy and not what a traditional focaccia would taste like. The crust had a nice crisp to it. It was brushed with olive oil and finished with salt. Just perfect and highly recommend. It came with a tomato chili sauce, which tasted good, but was not needed for this. We ordered the tuna to pair with the bread and it was a great combo. I ended up ordering the hangar steak and it was good. Full of flavor and the chimichurri sauce was a nice touch. Though, I would have like the taste of the beef to come out more. The marinade overpowered the meat IMO. My wife got the Rigatoni alla Gricia. I like the pasta and it was bouncy, but the dish was too salty though. We ended the night with the basque cheesecake and I have to say that it wasn't my favorite. The texture seemed off. Normally basque cheesecake is smooth and creamy, but this was a little lumpy like when you over cook eggs in a dessert. Overall, the service was great and the vibes of the restaurant was on point. The food didn't blow me out of the water, but it was good. I would come back here for the focaccia though.

We both said we were going to do unlimited but honestly could only finish about a pitcher of mimosa and they only charged us for the one pitcher was the nice part. I went with Carbonara Pasta and my boyfriend had the egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich with fries. I'm not gonna lie, I've never gone to aycd brunch and have not finished my food but I could not finish my entree it was so massive and filling. I haven't had a pasta this rich in ages and it was so so good and I am all for not having those skimpy little portions. He couldn't finish his sandwich either. I tried one of the fries and it was nicely battered thick cut wedge fries. Maybe I haven't been eating out alot lately but I was legit impressed. The staff was wonderful and thoughtful. The cafe in itself is very cute and Italian with black and white marble in the bathrooms, white marble bar top, hanging plants, interesting light fixtures. I tried to explain why labeling those items as gluten free is misleading, but he seemed completely disinterested, even annoyed, dismissed what I was saying, and simply responded that the pasta is gluten free. I acknowledged that the server doesn't write the menu, but absolutely zero customer service skills. The service overall was lacking. Aside from taking our order, no one checked on us or came back to see if we needed anything. Our server was just hanging out chatting up the hostess. We had to request the bill from the manager & paid at the hostess stand. Before paying, I spoke with the manager and explained what had occured. He was more professional than the server, but he was still dismissive of my concerns and of the service we received. Management seemed happy enough to promote the "option". The food was okay, definitely not enough to make up for the poor service and handling of a serious dietary issue. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Courses came out exactly when they should have, nothing sat waiting, and my water and drink were never empty. He checked in at the right moments and then let me enjoy the meal instead of hovering. Every question I had about the menu got a real answer, and anything I asked for showed up quickly. What stood out most was the attention to detail! he noticed the small things before I had to ask, and it made the whole meal feel effortless. That kind of service is a skill, and Yanny clearly has it. If you're eating here, ask for him.

The interior was completely packed, and the noise level was high enough for my smart watch to complain. To sample a bit of everything, we shared two orders of focaccia, four pastas, and one dessert. HOUSE-MADE FOCACCIA - 10 Super bouncy with a bit of chew, this was probably the best focaccia I've ever eaten. It came generously drizzled with olive oil and alongside chopped peppers drenched in even more olive oil, which added a nice little kick. We highly recommend starting with this. TAGLIATELLE - 27 Out of the four pastas, this was my absolute favorite. I love the thin yet chewy texture of the tagliatelle, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. Finished with just the right amount of Parmigiano, both the pasta texture and sauce were sheer perfection. PICI 'CACIO E PEPE' - 23 This was such a simple pasta, yet so delicious. It was incredibly creamy and cheesy, with hints of fresh black pepper flavor that blew standard at-home black pepper grinders out of the water. Despite it being the simplest pasta of the night, I enjoyed it immensely. RIGATONI - 32 This pasta was simple yet slightly innovative, featuring sausage paired with a broccoli-based pesto. There was a slight bitterness that was polarizing among our group. While this wasn't my favorite pasta, I appreciated the creativity. PERCIATELLI NERO - 35 This dish packed in more components than just pasta and sauce: plenty of crab, tomatoes, and crispy breadcrumbs on top. However, the combination wasn't very memorable. None of the flavors really stood out, and it was my least favorite pasta of the night. OLIVE OIL CAKE - 14 Served with a pile of golden raisins and fancy whipped cream, this ended up being a bit of a miss. The raisins were a bit too sweet, and the cake's texture was uneven -- some bites were soft and moist, while others felt dry. A couple of others in my group also felt the same way. Overall, I'd give L'Artusi a 4.5/5; it was mostly hits with a couple of misses. The pasta portions are quite small. Since each dish is primarily carbs and sauce, I'd imagine you'll likely need an appetizer or a pasta and a half to leave full. Still, I'd definitely come back for the focaccia, tagliatelle, and the cacio e pepe.

Just one where my expectations may have been a little higher than the experience delivered.

Seafood dishes had large amounts of fresh seafood and the veal picatta had the lemony flavor you expect without excessive acidity. Dessert was tasty and innovative. The ricotta based cheese cake wasn't as smooth as the cream cheese form but the citrus flavor was great. Throughout the meal water and bread were refilled, plates from completed courses removed and next delivered without being overly hovering. All in all a really great meal.

The carbonara had a great smokiness from the meat, and the risotto was cooked well as was most of the seafood in it. Both the carbonara and risotto had some inedible parts to it that were disappointing. The pancetta had small pieces of hard cartilage and the risotto had part of a shrimp shell.

My girlfriend and I came here prior to a show, and given how highly recommended this place came, we both left disappointed. There was nothing necessarily bad about our food or our service, but we both agreed that it didn't measure up to our expectations. It sort of just seemed like a glorified Olive Garden experience, which is not necessarily a bad thing if you're at Olive Garden, but when you're paying over $100 for dinner you expect a bit more. And speaking of paying more than $100 for dinner, when I do so I have the expectation that I can order what I want, when I want, and eat it how I want. Which they didn't like. Let me explain. When we go out to eat, we like to take it slow, enjoy our food, and we also like to share our meals with each other. Not share as in be cheap and order one plate to split, but order multiple entrees and try each of them. We like good food, we enjoy the experience of eating it and sharing it with each other, and we don't mind paying for it. So we wanted to get started with an appetizer. However, they wouldn't let us do that. We were told that we had to order our entire dinner at once. Ok, no problem. One of their menu items was "3 preparations of pasta" which were were excited to try. We were told that it was unlimited and that they ask you don't share it. Ok, so no big deal, we would get that and a second entree and just have a few bites of each of them. So we ordered zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta and veal as app, and decided one of us would get the 3 pasta preparations, and once would get "Zuppa di Pesce Misto". She asked who was getting the pasta, and I replied, doesn't matter who got what plate, we were getting two entrees and would share a little of each. But she said "NO, you cannot do that!" We explained to her that we like to try multiple things and that we were not being cheap and were still getting two entrees, what was the big deal, and she still said no. So we asked if we could get a side of pasta in addition to two entrees, and she said sure, it's $9, but you still can't share it. WTF?? I had assumed when they said no sharing the pasta they were trying to keep people from going cheapo and ordering one plate to share, but I'm sorry, if I order a bottle of wine, an appetizer, and two entrees AND an additional side dish, don't tell me I can't take a bite some of the pasta from the other plate to try it. So for just that reason, Becco gets a big FAIL from us. Anyway, moving on. After all that, we decided to just forego the pasta ordeal and to get the swordfish entree and the seafood zuppa entree. The swordfish was good, but my seafood zuppa was nothing worth talking about. It had scallops (ok), salmon (average), ahi tuna (good) and shrimp (bad). The shrimp tasted way too fishy, which tainted my entire plate and left a "bad fish" taste in my mouth for the next 20 minutes. I was still tasting bad shrimp when we got to the theater for our show. Good shrimp should not do that. As for the service, it was ok, but again it was more on par with Olive Garden than a $30 a meal white tablecloth fine dining establishment. She was attentive, but awkward. And the guys who delivered the food were a little aggressive, just shoving plates on the table and what not. So all in all, not really a bad meal if we had paid $40 at a chain restaurant, but we paid $115 and left sorely disappointed. Who knows, maybe we got a bad waitress and just picked the wrong dishes, but I still feel strongly that when I'm paying that money for dinner, I shouldn't have so many restrictions on how I can eat my food. The plus sides: Good caesar salad, good gratis bread and olive basket, quick service to get out and to your show on time, and a good selection of $25 bottles of wine. read more

I had dinner here this evening with my cousin. We arrived a few minutes before the reservation and stood in the very crowded bar area before being seated. It was like a sauna, partially because I basically ran from Penn and partially because the bar is the size of my bedroom. We were brought into a back room where it was like the fresh air gods descended upon us! We sat, were brought menus, bread, and bean dip,and waited a few minutes to order drinks and food. It took us a while because we were talking and catching up, and they asked us quite a few times before we finally answered. We each ordered a glass of wine, and we both got specials-- my cousin the striped bass, and I the short ribs. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and as a cook that's not something that comes often to me (especially in a more touristy area). We finished by sharing the "eggless panna cotta" (which was strange simply because I'm used to egg yolk in my custard) but was super tasty. After we paid the check, we sat a bit longer with the intention of leaving shortly... Until a manager (who's name I regret not getting!!) came over asking if we would mind moving to the bar as they were looking to use our table and surrounding tables for a large party, and she offered us a free drink. No problem!! She could have said "get the fuck up because we need to turn over" and I would have left, but this was nice. The bar was crowded so we sat on some small couch-benches, and they ended up giving us a whole bottle of rosé prosecco! It probably wasn't a huge loss to them but it was a very nice gesture. Shortly after we moved to the bar as a spot opened up. We stayed probably an extra hour as we enjoyed our (free!) bottle and the manager came to thank us again and again for moving (which like I said was no problem but was clearly a huge help for them). Overall I would definitely return, even if I didn't get a free bottle, because the experience was very nice and the food was great. The negative one star is simply because of how crowded and noisy it was in there, and also how often they asked if we were ready to order/pay the check. I understand that they were looking to turn tables though, but the noise and crowd was definitely my biggest issue. read more

We harbored high hopes as we ventured into Becco, enticed by the prospect of savoring their renowned pasta special. Alas, our expectations were woefully unmet. What awaited us on our plates was a disheartening sight--a paltry offering that barely whispered of any discernible meat or seafood. Instead, three disparate pastas stood before us, each graced with an equally lackluster sauce that failed to ignite any culinary excitement. This was no "special" by any stretch of the imagination. Remembering the delightful experiences we had enjoyed at Becco in the pre-COVID era, our disappointment weighed heavy upon our hearts. This time, however, the enchantment that had once enveloped our palates was nowhere to be found. Moreover, our attempts to capture the attention of the pasta server proved fruitless, leaving us to languish in a state of culinary neglect. Only after a relentless pursuit did we manage to summon our waiter, who confessed to having beseeched the inattentive server on our behalf on no less than five occasions. Eventually, the elusive attendant reluctantly appeared, accompanied by our waiter, as if reluctantly coerced into fulfilling their duties. Our disheartenment grew as we glanced anxiously at the clock, realizing that our evening's itinerary included a 7 PM show. While we languished without sustenance, those who had arrived subsequent to our seating were promptly attended to, exacerbating our mounting concern about reaching the theater in a timely fashion. The prospect of missing a moment of the performance due to our beleaguered dining experience became an unwelcome companion to our already unsettled minds. Needless to say, our disillusionment loomed large, casting a dark shadow over any thoughts of returning to Becco in the future. Regrettably, we must issue a fervent recommendation against partaking in their offerings, for our experience was marred by subpar fare, inattentive service, and an undeniable air of disarray. I came here with my parents for our annual end-of-year dinner. The last time I came here, more than 20 years ago, the restaurant was a much more intimate setting: just the front section and the upstairs area. Now it's a packed madhouse full of tourists and the after theater crowd. Unfortunately, the service and food quality has taken a massive dip. We ordered the chicken and risotto, calamari, calf's liver, hanger steak along with the pasta sampler (of particular notice, just wait). First off, we ordered a bottle of nebbiolo for the table and the waiter pours it like vertically like a madman, meaning wine is splashing all over the tablecloth and our glasses are full of sediment that would have been caught had it been poured properly. [This would be the last time we see our waiter.] We finish our salads and the main courses begin to be brought out. But wait, where's the pasta sampler and the calamari? The hanger steak is sent back and the runners hastily line up to plate the pasta. The calamari comes out some time later, sans any sort of seasoning. I guess they forgot about my father's hanger steak, too. It takes about 10 minutes to flag down a random waiter for a dessert menu, and another 15 minutes before we have to give our order to a busboy because our waiter has completely disappeared. It wouldn't have been so bad if the only complaint was the overpriced food. The service was, as my father put it (here's the part where I mention that he was formerly a chef here!) "entertaining", which is his code word for "I was about to strangle the entire waitstaff". read more

First time to try Becco after being in the city for so many years, and of course I'm a sucker for the Sinfonia di Paste (all you can eat pasta for $23), which also came with a choice of antipasto misto or caesar salad. The three pasta of the night were Spaghetti with Marinara sauce - bland but el dente pasta Gemelli Bolognese - Favorite of the three, flavorful with thinly sliced of unknown meat Giant gnocchi covered in cheese sauce - Very filling and heavy Before my dining experience at Becco, my impression of the unlimited table side service pasta was a chef cooking the pasta next to your table. However, I realized that moment I walked into the restaurant that it will be impossible because of the tightly packed tables. Not recommended if you are looking to have a private conversation. The table side service is more like the Italian pasta version of Brazilian barbecue. The waiters will bring by a skillet full of pasta and serve them on your plate. Overall, the pasta was good but it didn't knock it out of the park for me. Imagine a better version of the Tour of Italy from the OG. They did serve everything very fast and it's ideal for the theater goers looking for a quick dinner. What's more interesting is that the pasta special was the only pasta dish served on the entire menu, the remaining dinner menu is made up for various types of protein. What a waste of time and money! I've been to Becco before and thought it was amazing... I should not have come back a second time to ruin my first impression. I had 6:45 dinner reservations - we actually got there a little after 6:00 and were seated immediately. The table was all the way in the back squished between two other tables. We asked the young man seating us if we could wait for a bigger table and we said we don't mind waiting and he flat-out said no you will not get a bigger table. We then sat down. It took our waiter at least 25 minutes to even acknowledge us. He walked by us multiple times to deliver and pick-up checks from the tables near us. After ordering a bus boy came to bring us salad and he practically threw the salad in our plates. At this point we were ready to get up and leave. It took another 25 minutes for us to get our pasta. The pasta was terrible. It had no flavor and it was so mushy and over-cooked that it was not even worth eating. After another long wait our entrees came. I ordered the rib-eye. It was basically a piece of fat. There were about 10 fries thrown on the plate. The other entree we got was the osso buco- totally inedible. The sauce was so salty that it ruined the whole plate. I get this place is a tourist trap but this was just out-right ridiculous. The best part was, Joe Bastianich was there and he seemed to be as uninterested in the restaurant as I was about the food!! Even though Becco is known for their amazing pasta prix fixe, we decided to eat a little lighter post-theatre. First off, the service was phenomenal. Leighton made sure that we were taken care of at every turn. Our bartender also took very good care of us. The initial pour of my Manhattan was about 2 millimeters short (honestly, no big deal), and although it was fine, about a minute after the Manhattan was poured the bartender was out from behind the bar, muttering "not on my watch" as he topped off the Manhattan. It was a wonderful show of top-notch service. We started off with one of the specials, Smoked mozzarella burrata with broccoli rabe on Tuscan bread. It was delicious - and after having a piece of Tuscan bread all by itself, I could see why it was the foundation of the starter. Wonderful, chewy and crisped on the outside...yum! Next we enjoyed the pomegranate salad (it was one of those nights where ALL the specials sounded good, so that's what we went with) and while it was lovely, it didn't really overly excite the mouth. For our entree we chose the grilled swordfish in a tomato-ey sauce that was fantastic. We actually split everything and the swordfish came out on two plates - the portion was large enough to fill both of us and we were glad that we'd split it. My gal-pal, Rusty and I made a late afternoon reservation and got there a wee bit early and were greeted by an extremely competent and knowledgable staff. We were seated immediately at a lovely table and ordered a $25 bottle of Cabernet Wine and got settled in. It truly felt like we were in Italy with the beautiful surroundings and the lovely aroma of fresh Italian cooking in the air. Our waitress was delightful and took very good care of us. We started with the delicious antipasto (LOVED it!) and then the unlimited pasta.....all amazing and fresh .....with our favorite being the home-made ravioli stuffed with truffle butter and mushrooms! We were having such a delightful time with the food and conversation that time was slipping away and we had slipped into dinner time. There was a change in servers and our new male server was just as competent and charming as the young lady was! We finished our meal with fresh brewed Italian coffee. This place was HOPPING on a Tuesday night, so definitely make a reservation. We dined here before seeing "On The Town" which was horrendous. Dining at Becco ended up being the highlight of our evening. The $25 wine list was extensive like other reviewers indicated. The bottle we ordered was smooth & delicious. 3 of us got the three pasta special along with our entrees. We highly recommend doing so. The pastas were hot, fresh, perfectly prepared and endless. Win-win! I gave this a 4-star review because the salmon I ordered was a little dry. Everyone else raved about their entrees. We ended with the dessert platter with a little from each selection for the table. The italian cheesecake was OUTRAGEOUS!! It was light, not too sweet & melted in your mouth. Worth every calorie. All in all, I would highly recommend! The only real negative for the business to look into was the restroom situation. One tiny stall in a high-traffic area behind a computer/wait station was not enough for a huge, bustling restaurant! read more

we went here with friends for dinner. When we were at the coat check place, the girl told us that we need hours to wait for a table. But then, we went in the restaurant, we got a table IMMEDIATELY! OK! I didn't loss my appetite!! Anyways, the pasta looks so delicious and it's a great deal to have 3 special choices everyday, we didn't order though. I had some pepper stuffed with pork and veal in tomato sauce severed with Germany egg noodles. smelling like pizza, special and tasty! It comes with two pepper, if you don't eat a lot, it could be easily share. I bo xed 'em home, cuz it just too big. I try the seafood but didn't surprise me.Then, comes the big time, a chocolate moose cake, it didn't shock me though. It's kinda crowd, you should make a reservation if they take. They didn't take our reservation but until 9pm. You can still go and get a table like we do. I ll recommend this place for family and friends. it's kinda noisy here. I just love this street full of restaurants, and Becco has such a bubbly atmosphere that it's great for afterwork dinner, a date, or entertaining friends from out of town. Becco has the most amazing LARGE list of $25 bottles of wine for the diner on a budget. I highly recommend the Montepulciano/Merlot meritage, who knew this even existed? It's a fusion of deliciousness, combining the best of both grape worlds. Their 3-pasta all you can eat entree is delicious and well worth the $23, or you can add it to your other meal for only $9. The olive and bread plate to begin with are an abundance of color and carbs, and fit the plentiful plates of food in Italian restaurants. The staff has ALWAYS been extremely friendly, which is always a breath of fresh air in NYC, and even when we haven't made a reservation, they find a way to fit us in. It's become my staple Italian restaurant. you can always depend on good food and great service at Becco. read more

We ended up here for New Year's Eve at the recommendation of a friend, of a friend! It was fantastic! Wonderful service from the coat check to the bus-boys/water servicers to the waiter. The real deal here is the prix-fix meal. You get either an antipasto plate or a Caesar salad plus three house made pastas. You don't get to pick the pastas--they are selected in the kitchen as the pastas of the day. All three were fantastic...and, if you can believe it...they are all you can eat! They kept coming around offering more though we had a tough time finishing our original portions. ALL the wines...yes, ALL, are price at $25 a bottle. A steal in any community! We descried what we were looking for to our waiter and her returned with a perfect wine for us. Highly recommended by our group. Food was excellent and piping hot, breads were delicious, salad and antipasto plate wonderful. All in all, an excellent experience and we would happily return. read more

My Gorgeous Girlfrend and I had an early dinner this evening at Becco. We arrived at 5:30 PM and the place was almost packed...It was teeming outside and that could account for all the people inside, but this being our 1st visit we were seated with in 2 minutes of arriving w/o a reservation in the dining room accross from the bar...A little noisy but not a bad table for 2...My GGF decided to order 2 appitizers...Antipasto Misto and Gamberi 'al 'Forno, and I ordered the Hangersteak medium rare with soft melt in your mouth Polenta & vegitables and a we had a side of of the most incredible sauteed whole mushrooms...The bottom line every thing was Magnifico! 5 thumbs up for this place...Service was excellanti also!!...Make a beeline for Becco!!... read more

Becco's menu includes a broad spectrum of appetizers, entrees, desserts, and wines to choose from. Menu decisions are difficult. To begin with, make sure you bring a large appetite because you won't want to skip any of the meal courses. The appetizers include soups, salads, seafood, meat and cheese platters, to meat dishes. The entree menu includes spaghetti, lasagnas, seafood, and meat based dishes. Becco also offers ala cartes sides. I recommend the Pollo al Limone, which is a sauteed chicken breast with lemon, olives, caper berries, and spinach, as it is the only entree I had at Becco at one lunch visit. Not only is it a Hells Kitchen staple but Becco is one of New York City's finest Italian restaurant. Your dinner is surrounded by great and attentive service, great menu (which includes daily specials) and atmosphere of true fine dining. Whenever you're in Becco's, you have to try their pasta tasting offer. Which is an all-you-can-eat deal with various tasting pasta sauces. Always served hot and fresh. Great wine selection as well for very affordable prices. Also, never fear to bring a big party here because they're totally accommodating and they don't frown (nor do their service and food quality go down) just because you have a lot people in your table. read more

The Becco Restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel just off Time Square. When we arrived we where seated very quickly and greeted then by our sever giving use a wine. The very cool thing here is " all bottles of wine are $ 25.00" and they had 100's to select from. Within minutes the brought out a wonderful bread box with 3 different types loved them all. They had many all your could eat specials and specials of the day I had the Veal Terry my wife had 3 unlimited pasta. They have an amusing house Caesars salad all you can eat. I had a dinner with my employees at Becco last night and that was quite impressive. Not to mention that the service was excellent but also the food reminded me of traditional Italian cooking. This is my 3rd time at Becco. The other 2 times I was here for lunch. I had grilled calamari with arugula salad - Love it.. osso buco was my main course - so tender and I was told it take hours of preparation. The restaurant set up is cozy with a tiny wood dinner table. I'm 6'7" so it's not very comfortable for me but I managed. It's impressive that they can handle a group of 6 without any problem. I will definite go back for lunch or dinner there soon. read more
