Ok a solid OK. I will give them another try and update my review when I do. My husband and I came in one morning for breakfast. We have had some of their other foods (like Bun Pappa) and really enjoyed it and love the cute little diner they have built here. I understand that things are on the new side but service was painfully slow. Food was decent but prices are a bit on the higher side given the portions. That being said I do love some of the other food hall items that they have available here (tower cakes anyone?!) So I really hope some of these concerns can be ironed out. We will definitely give it another shot and report back. read more

This restaurant took the place of the very popular, almost iconic, Atlantis Restaurant, which was in fact, a real diner. The new place, is somebody's concept of what, I guess, a new aged diner should be, but it really falls short. The food is good. The staff is very friendly, and I think because they know they have big shoes to fill, they are trying very, very hard to fill them. But it's just not the same. The Atlantis closed because the landlord raise the rent to an exorbitant amount of money, and the owners, during Covid, thought this was ridiculous; so did most of the customers. Why mess with a good thing? I hope this restaurant does well. It's no Atlantis, which is actually what the neighborhood needs. read more

Best thing about this place: Lattes. The gentleman working as barista was kind and made delicious lattes for my partner and I when we visited Beeliner Diner yesterday evening. Everything else was very disappointing. I was excited to try this place after hearing so much about it on a foodie Facebook group but the service was slow and the food left more to be desired. We like Bread and Water and love the Bun Papa in Belle Haven, so we were very disappointed that our experience at Beeliner was unsatisfactory. Don't know if it was just new-opening pains or what...and contemplated not posting until a second visit, but unfortunately, there may not be a second visit for us. First, we were silently motioned by the host to grab a seat by the counter, which we did, which was then proceeded by us waiting for about 15 minutes without menus, acknowledgement or anything. The counter-staff was alone taking orders, cleaning and doing many things, and was apologetic when we finally were acknowledged. Made it hard to be mad at someone who was constantly working. I think the host could have helped by reading the room, helping out, and giving us menus, help clear up the dirty dishes that were in front of us, give us waters, or give us a nod of acknowledgement (everyone had their heads down, ignoring the obvious). Second, our order was simple. A burger and BLT sandwich. Oh boy, that took forrrrever! I did notice that those who were there before us also were waiting for their food for a long time. A mother and son behind us ordered a hot dog and also a BLT, and waited for more than 45 minutes for their food, prompting the mother to flag down a staff member (they still did not have their food when we left). All I can guess is they are horribly short-staffed in the kitchen -- like did they have one person working back there? The counter-staff gave us chips for our wait, which was nice, but they gotta fix the kitchen problem. Too much. Third, the food. I was hoping the wait was worth it. We had the Bun Papa burger before and loved it, but here it was bland and dry. My BLT, which is one of the simplest sandwich out there, was pretty weak. C'mon, a little more effort would go a long way. Two pieces of bacon. The bacon in the sandwich was curled in a spiral in the middle of the sandwich. I had to open up the sandwich to flatten the bacon so that I can bite into a piece of bacon for half of the sandwich. The thin bread, the thin slices of tomato, and the measly bacon, made it a very sad BLT. We never were fans of the waffle fries (limp - seems oven baked?) at the Belle Haven Bun Papa, and same-o here. Lastly, the saddest part is that we were so disappointed with the food that we decided to skip the slice of cake that I planned to get. Too much time wasted already. We do note that the best part of sitting by the counter is watching the staff work on the cake (someone was cutting off the cake domes from the layers -- I wanted to ask for the scraps that were ending up in the garbage -- so so many cake scraps-- would have made great cake balls, cake crumbles or mix-ins for the shake). Sigh. We'll keep an eye out for better days for this diner...we hope they overcome the challenges we witnessed and survive. read more

The Beeliner Diner took over the place that was once the Atlantis, and while I was sad to see the previous restaurant go, the hubs and I were excited to check out this new hip diner, brought by the Bread & Water Company. The menu is pretty extensive, offering all-day breakfast items, salads, hearty entrees (such as Short Rib and Mash, Chicken Parm, etc.), sandwiches, pizza, and desserts. We came on a weekend, and there seemed to have been some type of a waiting list or just a long wait in general - we were quoted that there would be about a 2-hour wait, which we were confused, because there were a good number of tables and booths opened; I'm thinking that it was due to the orders being backed up in the kitchen? We were told by the staff that the counter seating was first-come, first-serve, though. Luckily, we were able to score 2 seats at the counter! We ordered the following: +BFast Burrito - a 12-inch flour tortilla, stuffed generously with scrambled eggs, home fries, grilled onions, peppers, and cheddar cheese, with a choice protein (chorizo, kielbasa, sausage, bacon, or portobello; the hubs opted for the sausage); the hubs really enjoyed this, as it was tasty; it came with a side of a tomatillo-like salsa +Belgian Waffle - golden brown waffles, topped with powdered sugar, and served with maple syrup and butter; these were yummy, as they were slightly crispy +a Classic Burger - house blend beef patty, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, mayo, and ketchup, on a brioche bun, served with waffle fries; I was super excited to try this, as I've always wanted to try Bun Papa! The brioche bun was definitely buttery, but I wished it came out right when it was prepared because both the burger and the waffle fries were a little cold when we received it We also ordered a slice of cherry pie to go, and this was really delicious! The right amount of sweet and sour! One thing to note: I appreciated that there was diligence in wiping down the counters after each party, but one of the staff members would continue to spray into our water glasses; we just had to keep asking for a new cup Markos, the owner, was going around, warmly welcoming everyone and checking in on parties; that was so nice! First time today and really enjoyed it. Our server was Sammy/Sammie and they were delightful and very attentive. I had chicken and waffles and it was a really good portion, had to bring half home. My friend also had waffles but stuffed with bacon and cheese and a Bloody Mary, said it was the best she'd ever had. I took a sip and she was right. The atmosphere gives off a feel good vibe and I would bee comfortable going there by myself and sit at the counter. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was because they were mopping the middle area and you could smell the bleach. Not a good combination when eating but I will definitely be back. read more

Went for the first time. Food was not good. I ordered the Hungry Bee. The egg portion was tiny, and home fries portion was also very small. The home fries are clearly frozen, and just quickly deep fried. I asked for the bacon extra crispy and it came out rubbery. For $17 I expected a lot more. Sadly, I won't be going back. read more

Went on a Thursday night with my boyfriend for dinner. We didn't know about Bingo but wasn't a big deal. We were sat at a table by an older gentleman (manager, I assume) and then we waited. And waited. After about 8 minutes, he came by and filled our water glasses. After another 5 minutes he came back and asked if we wanted to order a drink. At that time, the waitress arrived and she was nice but it was obvious she was overwhelmed. We ordered our drinks and food and the waiting started again. After 10 minutes, we still didn't have our drinks even though we watched the bartender make them. A few minutes later our appetizer arrived but still no drinks. I asked the waitress who hadn't even realized we still didn't have our drinks and she said she would go check. She comes back to say someone took them and they were being remade. Finally got the drinks and our food at the same time and all in all, it was blah. Not great...not horrible...just blah and forgettable. The cheese curds were the best part of the meal. We didn't order dessert one, because we were ready to go but also because the cakes were sitting on the counter uncovered while they were hosting Bingo. People were talking over the cakes and they were never put back into the refrigerator or into a cake dome, which just didn't sit right with me. I was excited to try this place cause of the monstrous chocolate cake but they didn't have any slices ready cause the cake was still frozen and we went for lunch on a Saturday. We were a bit disappointed and tried the confetti cake. The presentation of all the layers is fun but the cake is dry. My daughter enjoyed her waffles but my fried chicken was over cooked and dry, the collards were overly salty and the Mac and cheese was meh. Overall the concept is cute- the place is nice, parking is good but the food is hit or miss. Maybe the chef had an off day on my fried chicken plate. Also they have chicken and waffles but no option with chicken AND waffles-- weird. We still had a good lunch because of each others company. This place has potential to be great. read more

Have enjoyed Beeliner since they first became such a great addition to our community. But had an unfortunate experience there today. Was pretty crowded (and loud) for Sunday lunch so our party of five had to sit at a high top. At least two of the chairs were very wobbly and cold air blew on us from above. I was excited to order from their Restaurant Week menu but disappointed when they told me they had run out of food on that menu so weren't offering it. We had to send tomato soup back to be heated more. For some reason their usual large selection of deserts was scaled back. Ordered the chocolate cake which didn't taste as fresh as usual. Waited a long time to get our bill and refills on water. Hoping they can get back to their old self soon. read more

Nice place with decent good but erratic service. They've also become a regular stop for tour buses so the place can be extremely crowded and noisy at dinner. Last time we came they had, without warning, closed the place. The most recent time, they were still accepting customers but they were not staffed to handle the crowd and do we wanted a lonnnnnnng time to see a server. I get that tour buses are a bonanza for the restaurant, but it is terribly off putting for regular customers. read more

The ambiance walking in was very cute, very diner feel. Based off of the look of the bar, and the steady flow of people my expectations were high. After being sat, we waited at least 5 minutes before being greeted. Once greeted, she said she would be right back for drink orders and it took another 10 for her to come back. I will say she was very nice, the pace of service was just lacking. We ordered our drinks, a Lavender Martini and Bloody Mary. My bloody mary took a while to come and when it did, it was on the house because of the wait. I appreciated that, however, the bloody mary was gross. It was lacking a tomato flavor and tasted very watered down. Thankfully, it was free. I got a BLT which is pretty easy to execute and it was pretty presentation and the fries were great but the bacon wasnt my favorite. From the flavor, to the way they cooked it. It was chewy and took away from the whole BLT. My friend got a Vegan Burrito and it was bland. The tofu scramble seemed to be made with some sort of vanilla flavored milk? The burrito lacked salt and additional seasoning. The only things that we enjoyed was the Lavender Martini and The cauliflower nuggets. I am sad to leave a bad review, but it is all things that can be improved and I would love to see improvement read more

This diner is cute! It's bee theme. As of June-September 2023, they no longer serve the pizzas portion of the menu. I'm guessing the partnership ended...? No biggie, they have plenty of other good items! Their breakfast items are the best, in my opinion. My party has had the breakfast sandwich (great portion, cooked well!), the breakfast brisket(?) Bowl which was a little heavy with onions for me but still had so much meat and tasted good, the double cheeseburger, several of the pies, and their giant sliced cake. The cake is a fun item to order but my party was underwhelmed because it was very dry. I do want to share that all their burgers are "double" because the patties are kind of small, but it makes for a good-sized burger. The service varies at times. I've visited with one other person to a group of five and sometimes you'll wait a few minutes before anyone notices you've been waiting to be seated, or the wait staff seems flustered even though there are only 3 other tables with customers. read more

The Beeliner is the new kid on the block. They did a beautiful job renovating the old Atlantis space. It's very open and bright with a large counter area, plenty of tables and booths. Lovely art on the walls. They have just expanded their hours. They have a small menu but it's got a lot of variety. They have the all day breakfast selections plus chicken, burgers and vegan options. The first thing you notice are the tower cakes & fabulous pies. My beeliner breakfast was delicious. The service was excellent & fast. I need to return to try the chicken, burgers & pizza. Cute place and friendly staffs. Really wanted to dine there frequently . However the kitchen was so bad that offset all the positives from the front of house. Chicken perm w/ angel hair came out from the microwave. Food temperature was uneven. Some of the pasta was super hot some was barely warm. If they don't want to make it fresh, just take it out of the menu. I have an impression that the chefs just don't care about the food or the Bread and Water brand in general. read more

Stopped by for breakfast this morning. Was excited to try this place. Sat at the bar and was served very fast. Ordered the breakfast sandwich as it was starred. Figured it was good. Oh boy. Coffee burnt. Sandwich came out in less than five minutes and was cold. The egg was soggy and the bread was stale. Bacon was good but the garlic aioli they put in the bread. My god. It was like eating a head of garlic. I had to literally leave over half my sandwich because it was so nasty. Maybe dessert or lunch would be better but as of now do not eat here.
