It's clearly an unorganized dining entertainment experience as everything was off-schedule from check-in to getting seated, ordering, to receiving our meal. However, it's still a cool spot to check out especially during the Halloween season. The place is well-decorated with themed food and drinks added to the festive atmosphere. The pre fixe menu is QR coded, with the option for one appetizer, one main, and one dessert per person. Unfortunately they ran out of a lot of the ones we wanted to try. Burger and chicken was dry and over-cooked, apps and dessert were good but basic. Don't come here with any expectations and want quality performance and food. This is a fun idea with really cool Tim Burton props. The dinner tables are setup around a main stage where small performances occur every 20 or so minutes. The performances are fun to watch but isn't anything extremely spectacular. When we arrived at our reservation time we still waited about 30min for party of 4 before we were seated. They must have been very short handed that day because our server didn't come to take our order for quite some time and our food probably came out 2 hours after being seated. For the price of this experience and the food, I would not recommend it. We were starving by the time we got our food and still did not find the food worth the wait and for the price. They were also out of 2 of the menu items we really wanted to try so that was disappointing on top of all the other disappointed factors of our visit. Parking is a bit difficult to find. The setup here is awesome, they certainly lived up to the year-round halloween vibe and atmosphere we've heard so much about. We stopped by for a couple drinks on a Sunday afternoon around opening time. There was a live performance going on with a guy in costume who actually sounded like Beetlejuice. We sat at the bar, and enjoyed the Chocolage Chocolate Martini which was sweet and strong with cute presentation, and Edward's Lemonade, a whiskey forward drink, served with a smoky dry ice effect. Service was quick and attentive with no one else sitting at the bar while we were there. We were mesmerized by the decor all over the walls and ceiling, the many options for dining and lounge seating, and the TV's on the wall showing clips of various films and characters including The Shining, It, Mars Attack, Jack Skellington and The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, and plenty of other Tim Burton creations. We were also startled by costumed killers like Ghostface and Chucky roaming around the place and creeping up on guests. My Experience was pretty epic! I was invited for a birthday party of a close comedian friend of mine. There was a catering company supplied so the food of beetle house wasn't tried. As for the service the bar was still accessible to everyone who chose to get a little tipsy. I heard the drinks wear made up to par. I loved the deco and lightning inside the house! It was very cool a mix between the nightmare before Christmas movie and Halloween. If you can imagine what that looks like. There are two levels in the house with staircases on both sides that lead behind and around the stage. Plenty of seating and sections with access around the bar and in corners of the building. I wasn't able to get photos because it was packed from wall to wall. It was amazing and an event to remember. I will definitely return with a group of friends that will enjoy it as much as I did. read more

I loved the ambiance and the service was good! Entertainment was fun too. However, was not impressed by the food unfortunately. For appetizers I did enjoy the lemon pepper wings. I got the salmon dish and while the salmon itself was good, I personally felt the wasabi mashed potato was too strong of the wasabi taste for it to be enjoyable. My friends ordered the chicken and they were unfortunately disappointed. I did see good reviews about the steak so maybe we should've gotten that. For dessert I got the pumpkin cheesecake and that was ok! Overall loved the vibes but as a foodie, prob won't return! read more

I want to preface that the only reason why I refuse to give this place anything lower than 3 stars is because of the environment. This place is magical! I love the theme of having Halloween all year, the performances were great and I enjoyed how they decorated the place. The service was amazing and I LOVED how our waitress was dressed up. There are so many little Easter eggs throughout this place that you have to look for (especially from Beetlejuice). The food itself is not worth it. I would say this place is one I will come back to only for a drink and have dinner before somewhere else. This was such a fun place to eat at! You immediately get the Tim Burton vibes when you enter this restaurant. It's completely decked out in different characters. My boyfriend and I arrived early and thankfully got seated early too. All of the staff were so friendly from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. Our waiter was attentive and the food came out pretty fast. The food was okay, I definitely didn't order the best food, I ended up liking my boyfriends food over mine. I ordered the cheshire mac n cheese, edwards burger, and brownie. My boyfriend ordered the kebab, killer coq au vin, and pumpkin cheesecake. We even switched entrees and desserts haha. The main act for the night was the Sanderson Sisters, they came out every 20 min or so to perform a song and they were amazing! I have a friend, who will call Kay. She is busy with work, life, and figuring out the balance between the two. There was a time where it was easier for both of us to spend time with one another. But now we text on days far apart, and promise to see each other, when time and responsibilities permit, an alignment that arrives on rare occassion, like a blue moon. After a nearly two year wait, we finally found the time to meet, on a night a week away from Halloween. I decided to book a reservation at Beetle House LA because an Instagram real led me to believe it would be a spooky, good time. And since Kay and I see each other seldomly, I thought the moment should be held by an environment and background that was uniquely special, and helped propel our shared time into distinct territory. And the place held its promise, for Kay and I had a good time because the place itself was modest spectacle that offered shadows and flames in play that provided Kay and I, further reason to make our long awaited hangout, special, like a vampire's first bite after a decade's coffin-slumber. As soon as one walks in, one feels the ghoulish atmosphere that never feels like a scary maze ready with jump scares. The atmosphere is Halloween fun; a mix of kitsch, orange and purple glow, and the beat of the monster mash. When we arrived, the host was dressed a la Maleficent but with a sexier edge. I know this is picky, but I would have liked the host to great me with Halloween-forward language. For example, she could have said, welcome ghosts and specters, prepare for a frighteningly good time,. However, she had already done enough, wearing intricate purple make-up under her eyes, must take some time, so her lack of Halloween language would have been extra candy in my pumpkin basket, not a necessity. As soon, as we walked in, we were escorted to our seats, which were right in front of a floor stage. She and I had not done a lot of research, thus we were surprised that they were going to have a show. I dreaded the realization a bit, as I am not always the fan of performances while I am dining, as they can easily traverse to being cheesy or non-engaging, thus they become something to endure and applaud out of respect. But this places's performances were micro bites of entertainment, they moved quickly and were bursts of visual appeal. For instance, the host Elvira, introduced a fire dancer who adopted Morticia's persona, of Addams Family Fame. As she came down the famous tune accompanied her, but it was a modern one, not the one that I know from before. She twirled her fire wands, and put the flames in her mouth. It was a momentary dazzle that added to the evening, not arrested our attention. Later in the evening, Elvira brought the different performers of the night together. She invited the guests and the performers to dance the famous song from Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Time Warp. None of the guests got up and dance. It would have been inconvenient-- the tables would have gotten in our way. Maybe Elvira could have invited some brave souls (volunteers) to dance in the stage alongside the performers. But It would have been great having the whole joint dancing to the Time Warp, but alas we were not pumped into action. Our server was named Blanca, which means White in Spanish. I thought that was such a clever wink from the universe to us, for we were being served by a person whose named meant white, on a day where the dark was being celebrated, but neither Kay nor Blanca took the moment to enjoy the coincidence, much like Zombies, there funny bone might be rotten to the point of inefficacy. The food was just ok, I am sorry to say. We were required to get a three course menu. We both started with the mac and cheese, and she got the French Chicken (coc au vain, or something close) and I the Miso Salmon. The mac and cheese was a let down. It was served in a small plate, not a small bow. The mac and cheese was made from pasta shell. I think they tried to make the dish special by using shells instead of elbows, it had no flavor, and its cheese consistency was a drip. No one wants to see watery cheese sauce on a pasta dish. My salmon dish was solid. I ate wasabi mash potatoes. At one point, I took a bite and the wasabi was so present, I felt its typical kick upon my nostrils, and taste buds. It was harsh, just a bit, but enough for me to know that this dish was more a solid attempt, than a compose dish. The cheesecake was pumpkin, and I ate it but it was not a sweet note to end a dinner with, more like a treat to enjoy to combat food waste. The drinks were enjoyable and came brewing! She and I both had two. There were hanging plants from the ceiling. I imagine they were meant to remind us of the Swamp Thing in the ceiling. There were plenty of scary things to see! The place is more like a moment to celebrate Halloween, but other than that, do not expect it to be more! read more

I was hesitant to go due to so many poor reviews recently but we have wanted to go for a couple years now. We decided to go for my daughter's 15th birthday. We made our reservations online in advance. We kept it small since it is a bit pricey. We had no trouble finding the building or parking. The building was open and there was staff that greeted us at the entrance. The inside of the building is cute and appropriately kitschy. Just an fyi it is VERY dark in there. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful when selecting our food orders. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. The food was interesting. We tried quite a few of the menu items. Our two kids, age 15 and 13 ordered off the kids menu. They both ordered the monster burgers with Mac and cheese which were both okay. The presentation was the best part. They looked like pretty parties from SpongeBob. Across the table we also tried the poutine, the kebab, the Sweeney beef, the miso sea monster, the garlic mashed potatoes, the death by chocolate cake (SOO Chocolatey), and the just like heaven cake (really delicious). We also tried a few drinks, none of them super great but they were fun and themed. The performers were really fun and funny. We came on a night where there was a Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz, Edward Scissorhands, and little Sam. Beetlejuice was the star of the show hands down. He was so funny and interactive and made the night a showstopper. I think it was worth the price to go and experience once but because it was pricey I wouldn't go back "just because" or if I was responsible for paying for an entire party again. A friend picked this place to celebrate a birthday. When I arrived everyone from the restaurant was super dressed up.. the place decked out in Halloween/beetlejuice theme which was super cool. Actors dressed up came out and greeted and performed. Drinks were strong and interesting. Food was good! It would be better if the meal included a drink. I thought it was going to be an actual show but actors just come out to perform a short show and then you have to wait for the next short show. Over all was a cool experience. It was beautifully dark upon entering. It's $65 per person for a three course meal, not including drinks. The portions weren't bad, but the food was super greasy and my noodles for my bolognese weren't all the way cooked. Dessert was blah and the drinks were ok. We tried the fishbowl and Edward's lemonade. The staff was friendly and service was pretty good/fast, The performers were the best part but they only come out every 45 mins or so. Wish they would have been more frequent, because that's pretty much what you're paying for. (It's definitely not the food quality.) The performers walk around talking to everyone in between. I've been dying to come here since I first heard about this place but am never in the area. I finally was this past Friday and decided to make a last minute journey to Beetle House. We saw online there were reservations available, so we made one for 8:45. We get there and the place looks closed. The main entrance is closed / locked, there's no one outside. We walked around to Hollywood blvd only to realize this may be the only entrance. My husband did see a door on the alley side of the building with a man standing outside so we ask, and he tells us he isn't affiliated with the bar. So we try calling, no answer. Luckily someone came out and got us. The place was low key dead for a Friday night which I kind of thought was odd. We got a table right in front of the main floor. There were characters coming around to our table such as Wednesday and Uncle Fester, and a voodoo priest. The Corpse Bride came out and sang then made her rounds to the tables. The Voodoo priest did some voodoo. The Chucky came and did a number, he scared the crap out of me but it was fun. That was the highlight of my friend's visit. Now we ordered one round of drinks. I got the Beetle's juice. Oh my god was it refreshing. So, so good. My friend got a chocolate martini and it was not so good. She took a sip or two and couldn't finish it. I can't remember what my other friend got, but it was pretty good too. Our waitress didn't really check up on us and by the time she did, it was just to close us out. We tried ordering the poison shots but she said they were shutting down to turn into a club. So our experience was rushed to say the least. I will visit this place again. We were looking for a unique experience for our niece's birthday. She's been to all of the local theme parks and has engaged in a lot of fun activities. This time, we wanted to bring her somewhere that had a bit of a theme park vibe to it but yet, providing more of a memorable experience. We had heard about Beetle House LA through social media. We knew that there is another location in NY as well. Since we didn't have a chance to visit their NY location earlier this year, we opted to check out their Los Angeles/Hollywood location. Beetle House is located on Hollywood Blvd on the west side of the building. It's a shared building, so you'll enter from the side of this location. Follow the signage on the wall and you'll end up at the entrance. I had very little knowledge about this place so everything that we knew came from word of mouth. Therefore, it was going to be a one of a kind experience for us. Check in with the receptionist and work your way up the stairs. Once you enter the doorway, the experience has begun! You'll notice that the tables are set up around a small dance floor, giving everyone a clear view of the performances. It's dark inside and has decor from Nightmare Before Christmas. You have to climb stairs to get to the restroom if you're seated on the lower level. The menu is goth-themed so you'll have to read the descriptions to figure out what comes with your meal. It is a 3 course meal beginning with appetizers, the main dish, and dessert. The food was ok, not bad but not over the top. The presentation was great though as it stuck with the theme. The performances were short but sweet. Each character came out and performed a cover song dressed in full costume. Beetle Juice was our emcee for the night and he interacted with the audience often. After each performance, they took the time to visit each table, interacting with guests and taking photos. Beetle Juice was over the top the entire time and quickly became a favorite among guests. They had a magician who performed a magic trick with some cards at our table and we still can't figure out how he pulled it off! It was great! Our experience was great because we didn't have any expectations for this place. My 14 year old niece absolutely loved this place as she's always looking for new opportunities to visit places that provide fun experiences. I know that after 8pm, this place turns into a nightclub. But during the day, kids of all ages are welcome for a fun experience. Beetle House is perfect for tourists and locals who want to have a good time. It is a little pricey, but I felt that it was worth it. I want to visit their NY location as well when we return to the east coast, just to compare the two locations. I recommend checking out Beetle House if you want to have a fun experience while touring/visiting Hollywood. read more

This place is pretty neat. Didn't know of this til my coworker told me and the girls. Up on the end side of Hollywood blvd, this is really tucked in a dark area. Signs are easy to spot. Upon entering, photo ops in front of a giant skull and one for a mirror. Going upstairs u enter the restaurant and bar. Love the dark decor. There's Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington along with other wall decor. Lighting is great hidden inside of hanging vines and cherry blossom trees. There are booths, tables, bar seating. DJ booth with a projector screen to watch clips from horror films. Singers come out on the deep floor stage to perform their songs and oh there's a magician too. The singers come around and greet with guests. Last night got to meet Lydia (beetlejuice) and Emily (corpse bride). Wonderful ladies. Food was really good (minus the Ube). I went to one of the previous Beetle House locations on a weeknight. It seemed like a fun, spooky theme bar - at the time, I thought it was just a temporary pop-up. Got a drink; took some pics. Pretty dope. We made reservations this past weekend for dinner after our showing of "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" at Grauman's. I had checked out the website and was looking forward to the Tim Burton-themed menu. In my earlier visit to the erstwhile location and my scanning the website, I completely missed that Beetle House is a dinner theatre, so I was gobsmacked when actors, singers, and dancers came out to reimagine scenes from the original "Beetlejuice" film. What a pleasant surprise! The performers and acts we saw were excellent. It's a prix-fixe menu - appetizer, entrée, and dessert for $65 per person. They have several themed cocktails, as well as beer and wine, for additional prices. We tried the Fishbowl and This Is Halloween drinks - a blue coconut rum concoction for 2, and a cinnamony, appley confection with a smoke effect, respectively. Both were tasty and strong. For starters, we chose the Deetz shrimp cocktail (kinda had to for our Beetlejuice day) and the roasted fingerling potatoes. Though they were pretty simple apps, they were delicious - crispy, perfectly seasoned potatoes and an interesting warm-spiced cocktail sauce for the shrimp. I ordered the Sweeney Beef entrée - filet mignon with balsamic mushrooms and mashed potatoes, served with a straight razor (and a $12 surcharge) - and my boyfriend chose the Butchers' Bolognese, meaty tomato sauce with thick pasta and two hunks of garlic bread. The bolognese was delicious, and the filet was perfectly cooked with top-notch accoutrements. (And you get to keep the straight razor!) While we were too stuffed to enjoy more than a bite of our desserts, our selections - the death by chocolate cake and lemon bars - were scrumptious. They provided a box for us to take them home. While it was an expensive outing, it was a spectacular experience with quality food, drinks, and entertainment. I'm not sure if Beetle House is a place one can just "pop into" anymore like I did at their first location, but it's worth making reservations for a special occasion or just to treat yourself to a whimsical, memorable evening. read more

Love every single thing about the theme of this place. The show was amazing, bartenders, host, waitresses, waiters, & entertainers were AMAZING!! I feel like for what we got as far as food and drinks was very over priced. Almost $400 for just two people. The portions were small, the entrees had no flavor at all. The steak was cooked absolutely perfectly! It was just unfortunate that everything tasted so bland. The drinks were also very weak. I got the fishbowl and for as big as it was I didn't even feel a buzz. I know we were paying for the experience, but the food still should have been better for what we paid. (Honestly not something I'd ever think I'd see in Hollywood). Beetle juice- first of all, INCREDIBLE performer. His improv was legendary, and on brand as hell.... Not to mention his great singing! Sally - the sweetest performer with a power house singing voice! Jack Sellington! My god, give this man a friggin award and a better stinking head piece because that poor boy deserves a better designed head, but Mr Skellington, you with the high kicks and high range, SERVED US! Friggin excellent work. I don't know who does casting but everyone was friggin well cast and extremely talented, even our server was great at playing up the Halloween bit with the poison shot for our birthday gal, and seriously, it's nice to see natural great acting alongside solid impressions, incredible singing, and amazing food in the same place, which is what you'd hope for, but well done y'all! The worker's definitely work all night on a drink of rum. They are such a hoot! They have live performances and the actors come by each table to interact with you. It's Halloween town and it's on fire! I had such a fun time here celebrating my friend's birthday. If you are a Tim Burton fan, Beetle House is the experience for you! Once you step in, you are immediately in deep Halloween experience from check in to dessert. Our server was amazing, fun and I don't think we could have had an amazing experience without her. The food is unexpectedly good, like fine dining good. Their menu has curated dishes that is not only delicious, but creatively Tim Burton themed. It was so difficult to choose what to get. Luckily, as a group of four, we were able to try out most of their selections. They have a pre-fix Poltergeist feast so come hungry. APPETIZERS "DEETZ" COCKTAIL- A super creative shrimp cocktail. It was delicious and I thought the raspberry would be strange, but actually was quite delicious. THE ROUGAROU - fried chicken and beignets were yummy. The chicken had some good heat and the beignets were fluffy. For the entrees..... there's TWO that comes with a souvenior: THE EDWARD BURGER HANDS (burger with real scissors) and SWEENEY BEEF (filet mignon with a bladeless razor). Both were so good. The wine balsamic sauce on the filet mignon was savory, delicious and sweet. PÉTONCLES ET PORC POUR LESTAT - the scallops and pork was delicious. Scallops were cooked well and the saltiness of the pork paired well. On to dessert! POISON BERRY LEMON BARS - tasty dense lemon bars with powdered sugar - yum! JUST LIKE HEAVEN - very light and refreshing cake. DEATH BY CHOCOLATE - decadent chocolate cake that will be the end of you. UBE PANNA COTTA - very good for a vegan panna cotta. The ube flavor was light and the texture of the dessert was creamy. Let's not forget about the instagramable and yummy drinks. COCO SKELLINGTON - light and refreshing pina colada kind of drink. ALCOHOLIC POISON SHOT - fun and tasty shot BIG FISH BOWL - definitely a big bowl and I didn't need to share lol. A time was to be had! My niece loves Halloween and monster stuff so I took her here. Food and drinks were pretty yummy. We sat close to the stage, but I guess that doesn't matter because the show is super interactive. They do pass the hat for performance tips, so bring a few bucks if you enjoyed the show. I was entertained and Im not into scary stuff but my niece who is into monsters and the like was entertained as well. Drinks, dinner, desert and tip was around $200. The performers and ambience are about the only reason to come down here. The food was abysmal. Wife got the chicken and I got the burger. Her risotto was filled with bones from the chicken and tasted absolutely bland. My burger was dry and flavorless. The wife got a blueberry tart and I got a brownie. Dry So dry. Like...so dry... The performers are amazing and put on great shows. Come for the shows but don't stay for the food. It's meh at best. read more

The staff was nice and the food was delicious. Was not a fan of the drinks. This is a good one and done experience. My night was extremely expensive and the drinks were not the best. A lot of the drinks had a weird after taste the fishbowl I couldn't even finish because it just didn't taste good. Also wasn't a fan of the automatic 20% gratuity. For a $425. Seriously no Beetlejuice performance, why even call it Beetle House!!! Was told by staff Beetlejuice "was busy" with other events. Drinks did take longer than expected and performances were limited. Would not go back especially for the price. Two stars, as the food was decent, wasn't expecting it to be so tasty. Would not return, save your money! read more

Had one of the worst dining experiences ever at Beetle House. We waited more than 30 minutes just to get our drinks. Only after being an hour in is when we finally received our appetizers that were very bland and greasy. By the time it almost hit the 2 hour mark, we still hadn't received our main food, so we decided to leave. The service was also awful the entire time. When we asked how long our food would take after already waiting more than an hour, our waitress got irritated and acted like we were bothering her. Our waitress completely ignored us, and the other servers who stopped by were rude and dismissive. For the prices they charge, the service and organization were unacceptable. We left hungry, frustrated, and very disappointed. Save your time and money and go somewhere that actually cares about its customers. read more

We just went back to celebrate a friends birthday. There were 6 of us and not one of us enjoyed our meal. The first time I went we saw so many performers and Bettlejuice was narrating and joking literally through our whole dinner. This time he barely did that & we only saw a couple performances, it was a lot of just sitting and waiting for performers. Our waitress also had somewhat of an attitude at times which was off putting. The burger was just a frozen patty with that fast food style flimsy bacon. The potato's it came with were cold and undercooked. The shrimp was chewy and overcooked and the two Chicken appetizers were so tough you couldn't chew or cut through. Mac and cheese had little flavor and was really runny. I don't think any of us would come back again Which sucks because the concept Is so good & our first visit years ago Was 10xs better! read more

We had to wait 1/2 an hour even though we had reservations. The hostess said we could chill at the bar upstairs so we went up the sticky stairs to the area where the tables were wet and littered with leftover drink glasses. Evidently there was no one to bus the tables and if you wanted a drink you had to go downstairs and get it yourself. We were considering leaving when our table was ready so we went down and were escorted to a table where the bench seat was covered in torn vinyl upholstery and a table that was unenthusiastically wiped down. The waitress was confusing as she told us about the "banquet meal" and having to scan the code on our phone everything was less and less appealing, so we left and had a fantastic and much better priced meal at the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel down the street. The Beetle House is fun to look at, but not a place to spend your money. read more

I wanted to give this place a 5 star sooooooo bad!!! 5 stars for the decor, characters, staff, environment (especially beetle juice) . BUT the food was so incredibly disappointing so please don't go here for the food but worth the show. My filet was cold, chewy and fatty (I didn't know this was possible with this cut of steak) My husband's hamburger literally fell apart and was mushy because of all the sauces. The fries tasted like I took a bite of an actual potato since they weren't cooked. Drink your soda slow----they charge for each one. The alcoholic drinks are amazing and so fun! The best thing I ate was the shrimp! Huge and delicious! Worth going once but unless they improve on the food I can't see people spending $65-80 pp just for food if the food is mid. read more

The Ambiance of the location was absolutely incredible per usual. If you're a kitschy Halloween fan - this place is for you. My prior experiences have all been at the bar side of the bar/restaurant where the drinks are averagely overpriced for the area and creative and tasty. The restaurant was a different experience, however. The food was a bit cold, the portions were small, and though they tried to be unique with what they offer vs. the typical burger and fries, they absolutely fall short in the flavor department. The performers are definitely into their roles and the service was quick and great. Though I wish we had more performances from the movies themselves, I understand this is a Tim Burton "inspired" restaurant and not meant to be the real deal. All in all would love to go back to the bar, but don't plan on spending the money for the dinner again. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I'm made a reservation for this place at 9:30 PM and they told me to be there early, I waited over an hour, and they still had people waiting above us. Totally unprofessional for a Hollywood bar to make us wait a whole hour and still have people ahead of us waiting for us. They ran out of beer. I believe they had eight beers and they ran out and only had IPAs left. Therefore they have a very low stock inventory, especially for a Saturday night. My girlfriend and I ended up leaving this place because we were not gonna wait more than an hour if we made reservations at a Hollywood bar. Customers please go somewhere else this place has changed since they moved. read more
