Hot and sour soup, moo shu beef with rice, and egg roll. The egg roll was delicious!!!!!!!! The moo shu beef has no salt. The hot and sour soup... OMG where do I begin? It is SWEET!!!!!!! I put it in a pan on the stove and added onion, pepper, and a TON of rice vinegar. It was then edible, but it was still so sweet that it left a weird feeling in my throat. Ordered delivery for the first time from Beijing Express tonight and it was a slam dunk. We saw them on GrubHub but didn't want to pay the inflated fees associated with a third party (over $15 before tip!) so I called to see if the restaurant would deliver to us. We live in Highlands of Mayfield Ranch and not a lot of places will deliver this way, but Beijing did and I am so glad! The lady who took my order was patient with my questions and the food arrived before their estimated arrival time. We ordered the General Tso Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Orange Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Portion sizes are huge and everything was delicious - the General Tso and Sweet & Sour were family faves. I do wish the Mongolian had more beef and less onions, but it was tasty nonetheless. After reading some other reviews I will have to try the moo shu and Sichuan dishes next! read more

YOU MUST TRY THE COMBO FRIED RICE!!! It is honestly my favorite fried rice in Round Rock. The portions are abundant and they are by no means skimpy with the amount of meat they use. The meat is so perfectly tender and flavorful- you go to Panda Express or most buffets and it's like chewing on jerky. Not here! I've eaten a lot of Sichuan food as of lately and this place has vibrant flavors, huge portion sizes and a reasonable cost which is everything I look for in any good restaurant. The # 11 "Sliced Fish w/ house special sauce" is the best rendition I've had anywhere. Not overwhelming with the chili oil, tender fish fillets are poached in there with a ton of chillies, some sliced cucumbers w/ fresh minced garlic for some bite. It's surprisingly light for what it looks like and is a dish I could eat for days and multiple meals. Hands down the best flounder I have ever had... The dish was 90% peppers and 10% chicken! It was almost like it was a vegetarian dish that accidentally had chicken in it! Completely unbearable and disappointing! I'm not afraid of a little spice! Tonight, we ordered and was not given sauce with our order. So I called the store to make the team aware, but before I could even see what the options where for them to make it right, she was asking for my address and delivering our sauce! I have been looking for decent Asian take-out since I moved to Round Rock 2 years ago. Tried this place and found the pork to be all fatty in my lo mein. I waited an entire year before going in there again. Purchased a chicken lo mein and an egg roll. Nice gal at the order counter told me I could get a free soup based on the price paid (over $12). Great - I ordered Hot & Sour soup. Got home and NO SOUP. I called the restaurant and got the run around "the manager is on the phone - he will call you back". Why do you need a manager for a small Hot / Sour soup. I called again a while later and same excuse. I offered to give them my name so they could make a note of it and when I come in next time they can make this right. No good - must talk to the manager. Very poor customer service - no concern at all for the customer. I don't like being treated poorly because my order was only $15.00. Won't be going back to Beijing Express. read more

We just moved to the area and we're recommended to try Beijing Express by a local friend. We were pretty disappointed honestly. We had two orders of chicken fried rice, egg drop soup, and crab ragoons. The egg drop soup was sooo bland and the ragoons were doughy and undercooked, probably some of the worst I've ever had. I have been going to Beijing Express twice a week with my 3 coworkers for more than 2 years now. This is a great place for a quick lunch break. All I need to do is call in and come and pick it up. We order the same thing every time: kun pao chicken, spicy combination fried rice, lo mein, and general tso's chicken (my favorite). They always serve us quickly with a friendly "How are you today?" and a smile. The food is fresh, and I never get tired of it! It is also very close my work and could easily be called my favorite restaurant. I also bring my family into Beijing Express when I come home from work. My 3 kids and wife love this restaurant. They like many things on the menu and we order the orange chicken, sweet & sour chicken, beef with broccoli, crab ragoon, egg drop soup, and wonton soup. Give this restaurant a try! CHILDREN DENIED WATER!! The woman owner is beyond rude to customers. ZERO customer service. She denied my children water saying that they will spill it. My children are the most well-behaved kids. NOT messy eaters at all. She gave my wife 1 cup of water and said the kids could not have water. If they really wanted water, they would need to buy bottled water. I'm just flabbergasted. Even in the most run-down restaurants I've been to, I've never seen someone (especially an owner) who would deny WATER to paying customers. So why is she in a services business when she doesn't like to provide service?? Side note: my family could have left except for the fact that they were with some friends and their kids too. All the kids were settled in (parents -- you know how it is), and you pay before the food comes out. I spoke with the owner, trying to understand why she denies children water. She immediately got defensive and started yelling at me. She kept yelling that she cleans up water, and cleans up water... Okay.. Then, she grabbed bottle water and tried to shove them at me and said to pay for these. I stayed calm. I said I didn't want bottled water, and why couldn't the kids have a cup of water? She started to erupt and screamed at me to leave. I ask calmly why we cannot have a conversation. She yells at me, "NO CONVERSATION! GET OUT!" And then proceeds to say the letter "P" forcefully. Multiple times. I think she was trying to spit on me. Good thing she didn't have much saliva. Probably due to not drinking water! =P I asked her, "P? What's P?" She says she's going to call the cops, and I said she should. Then, she grabs me by the shirt and starts to push me towards the door. I don't touch her, but once it becomes physical, I say I'm going to call the police. Again, I'm maintaining my composure and just want to talk, but when it becomes a physical altercation, I do not condone violence. I walk out of the store. The other lady customer (who was inside while this whole thing went down) said I should definitely call the police. I do that. The boys in blue arrive. I explained to the officer what happened. He tells me to stay outside while he goes in. Then, a second officer arrives. I tell him the same story. The other woman customer starts telling us about 2 incidents that she has had with the owner as well, one of which was right before I arrived to the restaurant. The second officer goes next door to ask those owners about the Beijing Express owners. Turns out the Beijing Express owners are known for being highly irritable and rude. So it's not just our experience, it's everyones'. Not sure how many times it's gotten this crazy where she's actually gotten physical. To make a long story a little shorter, there was really nothing that could have been done (I guess I could have pressed charges, but I didn't). The officers said just to not come back, and use online reviews (which I'm doing!) to share my experience. Business owners like this won't last long in the industry. I thanked the officers--shout out to our local law enforcement! The woman customer outside said she was afraid to go back in to pick up her food. I told her good luck. The kid at the register was very off-putting. I went over planning on eating there, but by the time I had finished ordering, I just wanted to get out so I ordered to-go. At least the woman running the place was friendly, and the place seemed pretty clean. $10 minimum for credit cards. I wanted to pay with Amex, and the kid asked me if I had cash. They ran the credit card anyway, so I gave them a $1 tip to pay the merchant fee. Almost considered calling Amex and complaining, but at the end of the day I know that they're just trying to put dinner on their own table. The owner may claim to have the "top authentic chefs" in the kitchen, but they must be staying home for the holidays - because whoever made our food needs to learn again. The egg foo yung was gross - I took one bite and had to spit it out - powders eggs, really!? Next, the pineapple in the lo mein was even disgusting! How can a restaurant serve disgusting/rubbery/bland/old pineapple!? It wasn't even yellow, juicy, or sweet. I am convinced that my toddler's fake fruit in her play kitchen would be tastier. Mistake was ordering the large - just more of the boring soup than in the small/regular size. Don't get me wrong. This wasn't horrible, just horribly boring. I've been here twice for lunch and I have to say they have a pretty good lunch special. I've only ordered the chicken with Broccoli, and so far I've enjoyed it. The wanton soup is pretty good too. On the flip side, the fried rice is not the best, it's pretty plain, however, the sauce on the chicken made up for it. I did notice that the customer service is kind of blunt, but I think that is cultural rather than bad customer service. They deliver to my home if I order 2 meals or more and they do not charge a delivery fee. I am a big fan of the kung pap chicken.
