I read all the negative reviews about the owner and his responses to negative reviews. Here's the thing, I went because I craved a good Liege Belgian waffle. Does it really matter if the owner writes a novel if a person complains on yelp? It's hard to run a small business. It's easy to write a bad review and forget about it. Sometimes people slam businesses and forget that they're hurting those business owners. We click on to something else, but a bad review can stop people from eating a really fantastic waffle! I didn't think we'd have a true Belgian waffle in Texas! I've been craving this flavor since I left Brussels. This is it. It's the real deal. Is it cheap? No. Should it be cheap? No. You can't find it anywhere else. You can get it plain if you want to save $3...or throw strawberries and fresh homemade whipped cream on it like I did. It's outstanding! Love Love Love. I've never had a true Belgian waffle until tonight! These are amazing! You could eat them alone but we had fresh raspberries and blueberries on ours plus homemade whipped cream. I ordered the. #2 Le Tatin. It's a basic waffle with some canned apple type spread with vanilla ice cream on top. There are no fresh apples or any apples just some Canned apple spread which was very sweet like total sugar to make up for the lack of taste. I was also up sold an extra dollar for the homemade ice cream instead of the basic brand. I didn't notice any difference from the normal ice cream I eat at home. I also think if they charge 7.50 for this treat why do you need to charge me another dollar for a better ice cream? I wouldn't recommend paying 8.50 plus tax for a 1.00 worth of dessert. read more

Slow process given you advertise Belgian waffles. I could probably overlook either price or wait time, but not both. Service was very nice though and decor was cool. I and my girlfriend were in San Antonio for a few weeks and became regulars while there. They're definitely new and still working out a few kinks, but while they were a bit slow getting food out the first couple of days, they were speeding up pretty well by the time we left. The waffles are delicious, (I became a regular devourer of their dame noire and my girlfriend loved the fraise et creme). The croque fromage and croque monsieur were excellent as well. I tried a few of their chocolates, and each of them was delicious, including a few with very strong flavors that caught me by surprise. What stood out for us was the way they make their coffee. This is not Starbucks swill---there's an actual espresso machine making all the right howls, and the cafe au lait was smooth without any touch of acidity. I really hope they stick around for a long time as I'd love to visit again. read more
