I have always valued natural, clean ingredients, and they have been part of my life. Recently, I have delved into this lifestyle, and that is how I found this sweet spot: Something Sourdough Co. It is a small mom-and-pop shop, which I thoroughly enjoy. I immediately noticed vendors from a farmers' market I attend, which confirmed the business's intentionality. When we arrived, we were the only customers for a few minutes and could chat with the owner. I don't recall her name, but she was friendly and attentive. We ended up getting the cranberry orange scones, strawberry hibiscus lemonade, cinnamon bites, and coffee cake sourdough muffin. I have to say that the scones are addictive! The cinnamon bites were so yummy and airy. The drink was refreshing, and the muffin was the safe choice. You could tell the items were homemade and made with natural ingredients. The items were so light and yummy. Before leaving, I watched customers arrive, fill their bags with bread that looked so delicious, and pick up orders. Again, the owner was attentive, and the customers enjoyed themselves at this neighborhood bakery. Since it is a family run shop I would say give grace if you have to wait a bit. I would rate this 3.5 star. I drove more than 40 minutes to the store. and I also waited for around 40-45 minutes. The store is clean and organize. Eventhough I was there kind of early, they still don't have the milk and heavy cream in stock. For the dessert, The apple cinnamon roll had very little of apple in there. the apple pieces were even more sour than the sourdough itself. It tasted like traditional cinamon roll with sprinkle of a few apple pieces in there. The sourdough is soft and fluffy, but if somehow they can make the apple cinnamon flavor standout more it would worth the wait. The apple cinnamon roll I think it has more frosting than the traditional and it completely overpower the apple and the cinnamon. When you eat it, you could tell the apple and cinnamon totally not harmonize with each other at all. Because the apple pieces were so sour, if I was blinded and did not see the name ; I totally could not tell if I am eating apple pieces or I am eating something else. I think the traditional cinamon roll even have more cinamon flavor than the apple cinamon roll. the amount of frosting/icing was on point. It was soft and fluffy, unlike other cinnamon rolls at cinnabon. For me traditional cinnamon roll is the one, not so so with apple cinnamon roll. I dont know if you make an order on online they would give you the order right away or not. Or you had tonwait for a long time to have your online order. That's I think tou should call the store before you make an online order. Because the moment you order online, you would have no choice but to wait in a long line to get your order. read more

I was recommended this spot by Bee's wellness next door and glad I came to check it out. We walked in to a lovely lady with a big smile. Sadly, we had arrived a bit later on a Saturday. So many options were already out. It is best to get here early (especially on weekends) and expect a line. I have been told the line can wrap around outside a bit. But well worth the wait in my opinion. We ended up with a caramel cinnamon bun and it was exactly what you would expect from people who know what they are doing. That buttery sourdough smothered in caramel and cinnamon was a true mouthwatering delight! These babies are huge and definitely great for sharing. I hope to come back soon and try their chocolate espresso sourdough. I was informed if you call ahead, you can put in orders for specific items as well. This tastebud paradise is gonna become my new cheat spot for weekends I'm around this area. read more

Be prepared for some delicious bread and pastries we did not buy a loaf, we got some cookies, 2 coffee cake muffins & the last pumpkin muffin all were 10/10!!!!! I've been following Something Sourdough since I used to buy Sourdough Bread at Just Pots Saturday Farmer's Markets I think last year. I've purchased Sourdough Bread from Cottage Bakers who do porch pickups and/or Farmer's Markets as well. I took a Sourdough Baking class last year and started baking my own. I took another one this year and got more insight and a fabulous, foolproof recipe that was tasty and my go-to. It's hard to find the sour, tangy flavor similar to those from the San Francisco/Bay Area Sourdough bakeries because the natural yeast is characteristic of the bacteria from each area. So far, the closest I've found is from Whole Foods. I decided to buy from this bakery as I was in the area and had been anxiously waiting for the opening! It was a Saturday morning around 10am and there were about 3-4 people ahead of me & more were coming as I waited. Heather, the owner/baker was so patient, pleasant & took the time to talk to each customer while taking orders. She's so genuine & I appreciate she doesn't rush you thru. It's a family business & you could see her son chatting, climbing on the counter as she's patiently answering him or asking him to climb down. Her husband was in the back & told someone he helps bake as well. I ordered a traditional loaf($12) that I asked to have sliced & an Espresso Chocolate Cinnamon Roll($8). I couldn't wait to have some so I rushed home & quartered my Cinnamon Roll. There was a surprising tang & a hint of Espresso flavor was in the frosting. It's funny because your mind is expecting a sweet, doughy texture & flavor and the tang adds something interesting. My husband commented that it was complex. I agree & I also noticed I didn't feel bloated afterwards like traditional yeast bread does with me. Definitely a plus! A few days later, I tried the Traditional Sourdough Loaf & it was crusty, had thick slices & had a slight tang. Very hearty bread. I'm glad I could see the loaves in the display case as I've ordered porch pickups or online orders from other local Cottage Bakers & they've either been burnt on the top or surprisingly a smaller loaf? Both times they were Blueberry Lemon loaves. I stopped ordering from them after that happened because the quality control isn't there if they decide to give you a burnt loaf. To me that's unacceptable & cutting corners. They've lost my business. I told Heather what happened to me & she's heard of burnt goods being sold to other people so my experience isn't isolated. No bueno! I'm still thinking of the Cinnamon Roll & can't wait to buy another! Am so glad this bakery is nearby & wish it becomes a successful endeavor for many years to come!! An absolute neighborhood GEM!! I am only sad I didn't know about them sooner until they opened their brick and mortar recently. Not only is everything SO delicious, but the ingredients are stellar and somewhat hard to come by around here. My favorite are the sourdough loaves of course, but their cinnamon rolls are the best in town and everything else has been so yummy. Heather is always so friendly and has a big smile on her face no matter how hectic things are. I haven't had to wait so far but if I did, it would be worth the wait x 1000! I so appreciate all of the hard work and care that goes into their products and I'm so thrilled that they are now offering corn/soy free pastured eggs and other goodies. Keep it up! read more
