    Lasagna and New York pizza

Great service, even better food! Stumbled across this place and soooo happy I did! Tried the salad, garlic knots, pizza, and lasagna... everything was AMAZING! Will definitely be coming back!

5/31/25: Short version - solid eatery. Food, service, & atmosphere were all good. Nothing really stood out that I would say "wow!" about. More people popped in for take out than for dine-in. Long version - Bella is a cute little place with a pretty hefty menu. We arrived this particular Saturday for a late lunch; we were the only two dine-in customers so the sole server, Brayden, we had all to ourselves. He was exceptional: friendly & attentive. Appetizer platter: fried, fried and more fried! :-) It had a nice variety of items (the fried ravioli mozzarella were my two favs). I will say the chicken strips seemed a bit tough & thin. Garlic knots: delicious. Small bite-size knots w/ enough garlic to keep the vampires away. Ha! Just the way I like them. Shrimp carbonara: the shrimp was huge & my sister enjoyed it. Bella trio (choose 3 entrees): the eggplant parm w/ spaghetti needed another slice of eggplant & less spaghetti, and the cheese ravioli was a decent portion. For both of these, I will say the sauce was a bit of a let down, in that there did not seem to be a whole lot of flavor / spices to it. All I tasted was tomato. It definitely could use a bit more pizazz to it. The chicken picata was my fav of the 3. You could def taste the lemon. My only critique with it would be the white wine butter sauce was a bit runny. Desserts: I know the lemon mascarpone cake is not made in-house (we saw the box), I'm not sure about the chocolate lasagna. Of the two, the cake was the best because it had the most flavor. The choc lasagna was an Oreo cookie crust, ice cream, & what tasted like normal choc pudding (nothing fancy about it). The two or three other customers that came in for pick up were getting a pizza. Seeing that, if we back to Bella (it's 35 miles away; yes! we drive all over the valley trying new restaurants every week), we will def have to try one of their pizzas next time; perhaps a calzone or hot sub.

Good value and tasty food. The pizza slice are pretty much the size of a small pizza! The Margarita pizza is simply good and the Best with ham is good too. The cheese sticks are a good appetizer and you won't go wrong with just a slice of pizza and wings. We got the wings at medium and it was mild for us. The servers are super friendly and will have full conversations with you or leave you to eating if you so choose. Its a nice spot and will remind you of a New York pizza joint.

This place is really close by my friend's house and we were craving pasta! I had read a lot of reviews for this place and was really looking forward to trying it! When I arrived, the lady at the counter took a while to find my order even though I had placed it well ahead of time and we arrived after our estimated wait time. There were a couple tables dining in and it seems like a nice casual spot. I'd be willing to come back and try their pizza which seemed to have gotten good reviews. Unfortunately, my friend and I both disliked our pasta dishes. She got the shrimp scampi which came with 6 small shrimp total on a huge bed of fettuccine pasta with NO SAUCE. The pasta was extremely dry. My chicken piccata was the same. Two thin pieces of chicken breast, equating to 1 whole chicken breast, on top of a huge bed of dry fettuccine noodles with no sauce. There was not a single caper to be found. The side salads were pretty standard. The highlight of the meal was the garlic bread that accompanies the pasta (forgot to get a pic but it was flavorful and delicious) I also got an Italian hoagie and asked for the dressing and mayonnaise to be on the side so that it wouldn't be soggy. Unfortunately they did not do this and I ended up with a soggy hoagie. Very disappointing.

    Daily special spinach ravioli

The people were all nice but $40 for 6 pieces of dry ravioli, a handful of salad, and carbonara that we are pretty sure is bacon and not an egg based sauce is crazy. We were really excited to try this place because of its reviews and our love for Italian food but this was unfortunately very disappointing. The sauce on the ravioli tastes like it came from a $1 can of crushed tomato especially considering the amount of water in the container. Besides all that the salad was great and the people were kind! The place looked cozy and clean.

    Baked ziti and garlic bread

Let me start by saying I'm very picky with food. BUT THIS PLACE IS AMAZING !!! I get the baked ziti fried zucchini and cheese raviolis. The baked ziti comes with the most yummy garlic bread and delivery is so quick. Everyone that works here is so amazing as well.

Boy did I find it…read more There are a few Vito's in the Phoenix area, and all had great reviews and photos that made my mouth water. Ultimately I chose the Mesa store because it was the original and I wanted to see Mesa. We started with a basic garlic cheese bread appetizer and it was great. The calamari was tempting but we'll save that for next time. Wife ordered fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and I ordered the usual Chicken Parmesan which came with a side of pasta. It was actually a harder choice than usual because I walked thru the restaurant before I ordered and so many dishes looked good, as did the pizza. But I went with the usual. Let's start with the wife, which truly speaks to the five stars because she frankly doesn't love Italian food. She eats it when I beg. And she loved it. She actually proactively mentioned she wanted to go back. That's like 7 stars right there it's so abnormal. I agree with her. The chicken parm was fantastic. Amazing. To top it off, our server was great and when I mentioned we were new to the area and it was our first trip she was so nice telling us the history of the original and the other stores, and the manager later stopped by to continue that conversation as the server told her we were new. I mentioned that I live closer to the Scottsdale store, and she said it's the same food and I'll like it just as much. I'll have a hard time deciding which shop to return to - it might be worth the drive to the original just for the ambiance, but I'll give the other a try soon because it was just that good! 5 stars. Or 7 if you ask my wife.

I ended up swapping the…read morebreaded chicken that normally comes with the meal for grilled chicken to avoid the oils from frying. I also subbed the sunrise sauce in and it was so delicious. My only complaint was the portion size for the price. Normally I would get to chicken pieces and have leftover chicken. I remember normally going in and being able to split this dish with my husband, but this time it came with one piece of chicken. This was a little disappointed for the price point and hoping to get more protein. The other really annoying part when dining at Vito's is parking. I circled around twice including the parking lot by the car wash and State Farm and called Vito's asking for advice where to park and was told Walgreens across the street due to a big party they were having in the basement. Lastly, Vito's has a happy hour menu, the discount used to be better in the past so lately I haven't ordered from it. However, the frustrating part is in the summer the only way to benefit from them is to sit outside on the patio. I wish they allowed for seating for happy hour specials during hot summer months to be inside as well.

Of course it was always during the day when they weren't open and it was quickly forgotten. Finally the universe brought us nearby while we were on our way to dinner to another restaurant and the lightbulb went off "what about that Italian place near XXXX" and the rest was history. My goodness are we happy we had that epiphany because we just found our new favorite Italian joint. First off the service was fantastic and that was all courtesy of Sal. He is very knowledgeable and just cool about everything he says and does. It's like you're having dinner at his house. He just wants you to have the best experience without any pressure because he knows the food will deliver. I know It's so annoying to ask for recommendations but he didn't seem bothered by it at all. In fact he encouraged it and after taking his recommendation i understand why he was so confident. This place is just so damn good. Starting with the bread, it was fresh, warm and delicious. We had the soup (tomato basil) and summer salad special which were both great. Onto the entrees, the lasagne bolognese and the eggplant parm with ravioli instead of the sautéed spinach as recommended by Sal. Both were so DELICIOUS. The eggplant parm was light and flavorful which the lasagne was dense but packed with so much goodness. It was a lot of food so we had to take most to go, which will be another 2-4 meals for us. We finished with a chocolate peanut butter mousse dessert which was the cheery in top of a great meal. I'm so happy fate brought us here. I can't wait to go back.
