My Husband and I went on a date night here to try some thing new and wow were we blown away not only on the quality of the food but also the service. The Halibut was one of the best pieces of Fish I've ever had and the French onion soup was amazing as well. The owner came over to our table and talked to us for over 5 minutes. Despite all the good reviews on here, unfortunately our experience ended up being a HUGE disappointment. We ordered takeout over the weekend and when we got home with our food, the food was overcooked and lacked all the taste we were hoping for when craving Italian food. The chicken from the chicken parm was so overcooked that the chicken was grey and made us skeptical if it was even edible and safe to eat so we had to throw it out. The other items we had were edible but were not good. My husband ended up calling the restaurant to let them know about the chicken after we spent over $80 on takeout food and dinner was ruined and we were left basically eating the 2 pieces of bread given and the dessert we ordered. He spoke to Christina and at the time she was very apologetic and said she would comp our whole meal. Turns out, she wasn't being truthful and just took off the chicken parm. We were willing to give this business another shot but after the terrible experience with the food and now being told misinformation, I highly don't recommend coming here and will definitely not be back. read more

Just had to leave a review to say what a delight it was to have dinner tonight at Beto's Wine Bistro. First I love the ambiance and the fact that the restaurant is small and cozy. Our waitress was outstanding and very attentive. I wish I had gotten her name as she was a delight. I had the braised ribs and they melted in my mouth. Delicious! Their prices were great. The ONLY reason I did not rate a FIVE STAR was how unimaginably loud it was in this small restaurant. It seemed there was a contest between tables to determine who could scream the loudest. That said it was a busy night. A very unassuming location in an old Simi strip mall. I was told the Kuehner location was worth checking out but instead we tried this one. Sat at the bar and the service was wonderful. The two sisters working were very welcoming, helpful, and had a fun energy. The other employees were great too. The burrata appetizer was delicious and a great serving size. Wanting there to be a good wine bar in Simi I had high hopes for this place. Not impressed. Both the wines we ordered were not available. One of the meals we ordered was not available. The chocolate cake was inedible. The dried flowers have to go. Silk flowers would be so much better if they can't get fresh. Dried flowers seem dirty, and old. The bread basket is plastic. Seems very dollar store. The wall decor is random and doesn't match. The "traffic" between this restaurant and the one next door from the employees was obvious and really distracting. If they would spend just a bit more time on the decor. Maybe have less wines but the ones that are listed they actually HAVE. Have less desserts and less meal options but make the ones they have fresh and available. Less can be more and can really help in this case. read more

I used to come here quite often so I'm not sure if maybe the owners changed, but now you need a reservation to eat here, even when they don't seem to be busy. The food was forgetful.
