Their prices are a little higher than the local coin store " The metal shop" in Redmond, but they totally try to rip you off when selling to them. I visited the shop recently to see what Bellevue Rare Coins might offer me for my silver. I had done some homework before visiting - checking out online retailers, coins sold on eBay, etc. to get an idea of what my stuff may be worth. I had also thought through what I was willing to part with it for knowing that they would need to resell it with a markup later. However, upon entering Bellevue Rare Coins, we were already off to a rough start. First, no one acknowledged me. They may have buzzed me in the door, but after I said hello, I was met with not only silence, but neither of the male employees working on the floor even looked at me. I stood at the counter for a few moments before one walked by - again not acknowledging me - to go to a back room to ask someone else to come out and help me despite the fact that I was the only customer in the store. A third male employee came out of the backroom and was initially pretty nice and professional. He looked over what I had brought in and then disappeared for a few mins before coming back with an offer that was about half of what I expected. I thanked him and said I wasn't interested in parting with it for that amount. He then asked what I expected to receive, so I told him. His professional demeanor was definitely gone by this point and he acted like I was nuts. I packed up and left. He made me feel like maybe I was mistaken after leaving so I stopped into a couple more shops before heading home... another shop quoted nearly exactly what I thought the silver was worth (my walking price not their future selling), and another after that thought I was being too conservative given the rarity of what I had an quoted 50% more than my walking price... my advice to anyone would be to steer clear of this place if you're intending to sell and to proceed with caution if you are looking to buy - the customer service leaves A LOT to be desired. read more

I went in for an appraisal, & to get some rings resized and possibly a new setting. The young woman who helped me, had shoulder length black hair(yes I'm filing a complaint & no I can't remember her name, because I was in shock) As I laid out all of my jewelry, she picked up my 1+ carat diamond ring and stated " it fake, its glass!" As she continued, mentioning another fake! my head was spinning and then about the fourth item she picked up, which was my 2nd engagement ring, which she also said was" fake not even gold!! " I woke up ! I said, I had that ring made, that is a flawless diamond it has been appraised & insured & while waiting 3 years for disability, I hawked them both several times, so you're telling me they swiped my diamonds out and then remade my 24 karat gold ring?? She tested the gold and diamonds & although my 3rd+ carat flawless diamond went down to a .225 they came back as non-fake! Then I schooled her, that SOME antique jewelry doesn't always have a mark. not a single appraisal given and what she said to me, is she was giving me golden & silver prices! I never once offered to sell my jewelry! I stated I was there for my appointment! Never have I had an appraisal work like this! I wonder how often women are so mad, they just leave their diamond rings behind, because they're told they're fake?? Oh and when I asked her why she was offering me $135 for flawless diamond? she said "oh you need a special (?tool?) To actually see The quality" as an appraiser you do not have that ability?? And then she said "I'm just giving you a golden silver prices" I said I made an appointment for appraisals! Fell on deaf ears., AND DONT TAKE YOUR COINS!!! I was just offered $14 for a.50 piece said face value (.50) mentioned I could get $.25 on a couple others that I need to were Worth more. again I get you don't get face value when SELLING but appraising means you tell me what the items worth!!!'I guess I should've dressed better! read more

Highly highly recommend for those of you like me who have random pieces of fine jewelry laying around that you never wear and would like to resell. Right now is a great time to sell and Bellevue Rare Coins made the process so easy. I was not sure what to expect so did go around to a few other places for a quote but came back to Bellevue Rare Coins because they seemed to be the most professional. Market prices posted on the large monitor inside the Bellevue store and staff were so helpful. My pieces were evaluated, weighed and I was given a fair price- walked away with cash same day. You can also shop around but keep in mind your price even at Bellevue Rare Coins may change from day to day due to the fluctuating market price. The Bellevue store is conveniently located just next to Bell Square and the downtown park but it was quite busy even on a random Thursday AM right at opening and parking spots tight. For an easier option, you can go to the Issaquah branch which is close to Costco and much less busier with plenty strip mall parking. For sentimental pieces, they did let me know that they try to resell as much as they can before melting down the jewelry so that made me feel better than the other jewelry place I went to that just weighed everything, said everything gets melted and precious stones not worth much and tried to give me prices kind of all over. read more

In the past I did a lot of business with TexMetals, who underbid by $3,000. Locally, I conducted most of my business these past few years with a Seattle coin shop, that underbid by $1,500. The eventual highest bidder was the Bellevue Rare Coin shop. This was a complete surprise because I had never done business with them before. In hindsight, it should not have been a surprise, as they had the best downtown Bellevue location and, when most coin shops are closed on Mondays, they were open with 7 customers waiting to get in Monday morning. Today I needed to sell some of my silver bullion. I have been buying it off and on for a few years. It was one of those things where it was kind of a difficult decision for me but it had to be done. Angel M. at Bellevue rare coins made the process easy and didn't make me feel embarrassed by the fact that I needed to sell my property to make ends meet. Things went quick courteous and quite pleasurable in fact. There was good coffee and really great cookies that they make in the house. They make you feel comfortable and very welcome. I went in hoping for a certain amount, realizing that silver prices are a little bit down right now. But I was pleased when I ended up getting more than expected. I got a very fair price and quite close to what I had originally paid for all of the bullion that I brought in. Aside from being helped in such a courteous and pleasurable manner, the shop had so many nice things to choose from. The rings, earrings, pocket watches and all sorts of sparkly beauties. My wife would've gone crazy in there. I most certainly would return there if the need arises to sell more bullion, or even to purchase a piece of jewelry for my wife. Brought a gold & diamond pin to them for a price quote. I had a jewelry appraisal with specs/weights for all the elements that I shared to streamline the process. I was asked what price I was looking for and advised that the $6K+ appraisal figure was for insurance purposes not resale. I was also asked if I'd received other offers. I responded no and that I wanted to see what they would offer. Ten minutes later, $900. I then let their rep know that in 2018 I brought the pin to BRC in West Seattle, was quoted $1,200 and that the price of gold had risen over 40% since that time. "Oh, well that sounds reasonable, I can check with my team if we can match that." Obviously trying to take advantage of a customer who might not know better. Avoid, not trustworthy!! read more

They're not as legit as they claim to be. You go online and check out their pricing but it's completely different when you go in and they make you an offer. Online it says for one dollar in silver quarters or dimes. You get $19 but they offered me $14. Seems like a scam. Then their printer apparently was having some kind of issue so they couldn't print me an itemize list for the coins they purchased, which I find suspicious. It's whatever definitely won't be going back there ever again. You'd be better off selling your coins else where. read more

I recently sold a set of limited edition gold coins, another dealer could not make a realistic offer as they did not have a customer base for this, Bellevue immediately made an offer, no reason to negotiate, we both made money. Poor service. I waited 90 minutes before abandoning what would have been a 5 minute cash transaction. The (obviously overwhelmed) staff kept moving complex appraisal appointments to the front of the line, totally stalling any sales and walk up business. This was made more frustrating by pandemic conditions, as it meant the store was at full capacity for a long period of time. When I raised the issue that it seemed that staff were making more appointments than it seemed they could reasonably service, I was told I should have made an appointment. That's reasonable for an appraisal, but I don't think anyone would make an appointment for a purchase. I have done business with Bellevue in the past, but likely will not return until they get more organized and sort out their service. (This relates to the Lynnwood location.) read more

Which consisted of one Fake OZ of silver along with mostly what is Considered Scrap Bullion for most of the remainder of the order (which is not what I ordered or paid for).
