We live in the area and in our search for outdoor dining tonight, we stumbled upon Bellini! The people working there could not have been kinder or more gracious, and the food was great. We ordered the funghi bruschette to start- this was more for my husband as I am generally not a big mushroom fan but I ended up liking these! I ordered the Gorgonzola gnocchi as my main and it was SO yummy...full of flavor and not too heavy! My husband got the rigatoni a la Norma which he thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant is a combination of rustic and elegant with brick walls, framed antique looking pictures of Italy and clocks and tables covered with white tablecloths and individual lamps. The service was excellent and pleasant. There is also an opportunity for outdoor dining in a shed. The food was freshly made, hot and delicious. The pasta was al dente and the flavoring subtle and not overwhelming. The portions large. This is casual fine dining. We enjoyed and shared an appetizer of Inside Out Meatballs. The large meatballs oozed melted cheese in the middle and sauce was not overpowering. The wine we ordered delicious and the little focaccia rectangles were covered with oil and herbs very flavorful. The parpadelle with duck was amazing. Lots of solid pieces of duck, not fatty and with delicious sauce. The ravioli stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella was substantial and yummy. Went there with 5 friends for late brunch on Saturday. You can add bloody mary's or bellinis for $6. Didn't get to try the bellini but the bloody's were solid-- just spicy enough and not too much tomato. The brunch fare offerings were pretty extensive, ranging from the typical (omelette, french toast, sandwiches) to the more authentic (rigatoni bolognese, seafood pasta, oven baked pizza) to the downright decadent (shrimp n grits, chicken and waffles, bbq pulled pork spoon bread). The place is on the smaller side, so large groups can feel pretty tight. But they do take reservations, so that's always handy. read more

Walking out of Central on a beautiful evening, me and a couple of friends decided we were hungry. There are so many great decisions and picks to chose from. We stumbled upon a cute little place just outdid of Central Park. As we walked inside, we saw friendly faces smiling and greeting us. That was definitely a plus! We sat down and the waiter took our order. There were a few tables sitting inside so we thought our food was going to take forever to arrive. I ordered the pizza, as i was on Yelp reading through the reviews and decided it was worth a try as everyone was talking about how good it was. And guess what? The pizza was spectacular! whoever gave it a bad review, was definitely upset with something else! Even though there were tables there, the food preparations did not take long to arrive. It was pretty average. After the meal, I've had the molted lava cake, absolutely amazing right after the pizza (being my favorite desert, i would definitely come here again just to have the desert!). Overall, it was an amazing experience and I would most definitely come here again. And I highly recommend it to any fellow Italian cuisine/Pizza lover. hope you enjoy it as much as i did. read more

What a find! It's a cute little hole-in-the-wall Italian place that could've been right in Little Italy, even down to the decor. I love the BYOB policy, and I had delicious lasagna. We ordered the burrata appetizer and it was average but both of our meals were excellent. I highly recommend both the butternut squash ravioli and the chicken parmesan. The customer service was amazing. We were seated by the door, but we didn't mind. However, the manager was very accommodating and asked if we wanted to be moved to a warmer seat in the back. Walking in I saw that it was pretty full and I was nervous that It might be uncomfortable but the hostess was extremely accommodating and sweet, we were seated right away and extremely comfortably. The menu was great between the 3 of us we ordered Branzino and Filet Mignon with two pies to split. We had the stuffed eggplant and caesar salad for starters, which were both really good. For entrees i had the Fusili al Pesto and he had the Chicken Picatta. The pesto was good, but seemed like it was missing something, the chicken was so delicious and flavorful. We finished it off with a tiramisu and cannoli, which were both amazing. I must admit I'm not a fan of cannoli's, but i couldn't stop myself from eating it, it was good. I would go back, but it was a little pricey. And the food was no better than the service. My girlfriend had a pasta with clams. There were broken pieces of shell throughout the dish. When the 'owner' asked us how we liked it we had to be honest. At that point our entire experience was miserable. What a great little BYOB! BYOB restaurants are not common enough in NYC and I'm so happy that Flonn and I found this place on the UWS. The corkage fee is only $5 per bottle too. The place is pretty small, as most BYOBs are, so I'm surprised that they take reservations for big parties. We walked in without a reservation on Valentine's Day, and though they were busy, we were seated within 5-10 minutes. The food is tasty. I'm a big fan of their pizza crust - a little crispy, a little doughy and not too thin. However, the pizza could definitely use more marinara sauce on it. Everything else we had was great as well. Most of their pasta dishes are between $9-13 and their chicken and veal entrees are $13 and $14 each. So to sum up, the food is good, the prices are low, and it's a BYOB. Yay, I'm a fan! read more
