Full disclosure I am not a huge Italian food fan, but my wife is.. so we tried this family owned spot because a friends daughter is a waitress there. It was Saturday night so they had live music and the guy was great. We had the Mozzarella Caprese and the CALAMARI FRITTI as appetizers. Both were great, but calamari was one of the best I've had. Went here because there isn't much sit down in the Cedar Hill-Midlothian area that isn't chain restaurant. It looks nice inside, we ordered something and didn't realize it was uncooked and she took it off our bill. I got the veal parmigiana, which is one of my favorite dishes. Second time we have eaten here. The first time was a couple of weeks after they opened and they were struggling with the business still. Ate here tonight, arrived about 4:45pm. Fantastic service, great food, good selection of food, clean restaurant and bathrooms. Welcome to Midlothian! This place is now on our dinner rotation ... The family had Chicken Picatta, Steak Diane (Filet Mignon), Side Salad, Carpaccio, 14" Cheese Pizza & Tuxedo Cake. Everything was wonderful and quite tasty. Service was impeccable. Glad we tried it a 2nd time, after giving it some time to adjust to their business. I understand it is owned locally and certainly we need more of these types on restaurants in Midlothian. Found on Yelp. Placed a order for 2 subs to go. Subs were ok. Meatball was bland. Philly was ok. Bread burned on both sandwich's. They really need to update pricing on their website. I understand increases in pricing. Website said $9/11. Get to checkout $11/14. Not substantial , but they weren't worth the price, especially since the bread was burned. read more

I initially gave this restaurant a five star review. After tonight I hesitate to give them even one star. My in-laws traveled into town. We ordered two appetizers, a pizza and five meals through door dash. Three of the five meals were completely wrong. My mother in law who has celiacs disease ordered a pasta free dish but her dish was delivered on a pile of spaghetti pasta. She was not able to eat her meal at all. The other dish with pasta arrive with no pasta and the wrong sauce. The third dish had the wrong pasta and sauce. We called the restaurant and they blew us off and told us to complain to door dash. Door dash is NOT responsible for preparing and packaging the food as ordered. The food was poor and the customer service was poor. Thank goodness there are a dozen other local Italian restaurants in the city. Lost a customer and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. read more

The service was amazing! The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because my food was just not that great. I ordered the lasagna and it was super tiny. It was completely drowned In sauce and just not enjoyable. The place is a bit small so where we sat, it was on a tiny pathway right next to the bar and I was getting bumped by everyone walking by. Over time I have grown to love this place more and more. It is absolute comfort food. The location is in the Kroger shopping center, far over on the left end. There is some outdoor seating, plenty of tables that can be pulled together for different sized groups, and a handful of bar seats. They also do take out orders. The mood is casual but nice. There is a TV behind the bar, no tablecloths, but they use real napkins, real flatware and glassware and a decent wine menu, you get the idea. The food is great. We usually order the fried calamari, the bruschetta, and side salads. The Buck Shack Cab is delicious if you're a red wine drinker. For our entrees I always order the chicken sorrentino which is a breaded chicken breast with cheese over it, smothered in a pink sauce. It is served with pasta and veggies on the plate. The sauce is so good. I get serious cravings for it which is why I really order anything else which is a shame. The ravioli with Alfredo sauce is amazing. Actually anything with the Alfredo or pink sauces. I have a friend who loves their eggplant Parmesan. My husband orders different things each time and he's always happy. My boys love the pizzas, and so do I. They are thinner and more authentic Italian. They have a fabulous chewy crust and I love the choice of toppings. You can get a prosciutto and arugula, or a Margherita that has tomatoes and basil. We are always too full for dessert unfortunately, but they have a few different ones and I've heard the tiramisu is really good. I believe they also can do espresso drinks if you like an espresso after dinner. The prices are just right. I expect to pay $15-20 for a good sit down entree, I've paid more for less and I've paid more for food not nearly as good. If we go for lunch and don't add on wine & appetizers it's very affordable. Our ticket for 2 for dinner can be around $75-80 with tax and tip if we do the full shebang. I like wine...especially with Italian food This place is pretty much a Midlothian institution. Everyone knows it. If you come here for lunch or dinner you won't be disappointed. If I have one complaint it's that sometimes my appetizer shows up with, or right before my entrees. I've started holding off on ordering entrees until I've had my appetizer/salad. I'm not sure if this is a service thing or kitchen thing, or I'm just high maintenance haha. But it can't keep me from that pink sauce. read more

I am beyond grateful this place exist in Midlothian. THE BEST RESTAURANT in Midlothian. The food is made with love as the owner is from Rome. It was nostalgic for me, I felt like I was back in Italy. I will be back to try more things! The complimentary garlic bread, my daughter couldn't stop eating. The oil to dip the bread in with is AMAZING cause it's so good with everything. I dipped my calamari in it along with marinara and it made my heart so happy. The pink sauce for my pasta was heavenly. I think I've made my point. Hidden gem. The service was outstanding, especially for a completely full restaurant. We enjoyed the food here. The pizza was next level, perfect crust. This is a place you won't be disappointed to try. They give you bread for the table so skip the cheese bread, it was probably the weakest link of the entire meal. It was the same bread but nothing special. I give it 4 stars for this. A solid triple hit but can't say a home run for a few minor details. The service I've received here has been so kind. I really enjoy the family owned feeling this spot lends, and the recipes they're using are something passed down through someone's generations of Italian family history! Had the steak Diane and it was excellent. Only critique would be to put the sauce on the side. It was a little too much. Wife had the lobster ravioli. She really liked it but needed a little more lobster. Mom had shrimp scampi and liked it. Calamari was excellent. The wait staff also was top notch.
