Very pleased with this Boston pie! Typical yet nice Boston pizza. Not too thin and crunchy, not too thick and gooey... "Baby bear" just right! Six of us made reservations on a very busy Saturday in prime time lunchtime. Found our table waiting for us with water poured and an uber friendly staff to welcome us. Ordered a some specialty pizza's with specifics on where and how we wanted the toppings. They came back to us in a very short period of time spot on. The shrimp and scallops Benevento was excellent. The shrimp fra diavolo was good but not that spicy. The shrimp Grand Marnier app was very good but maybe too sweet. Service was great. It's a small restaurant so the seating was a little tight. There a several large screen TVs showing sports, which gives it a bit of sports bar feel. Fanastic meal at Benevento's! The family and I were wandering around the North End and landed here for dinner. Were were promptly greeted and seated without a reservation. Great meal! Solid spot in the north end. Easy to get a reservation and we got seated right away. We split the arugula salad, which was sizable. My wife lover her gnocchi and the bolognese was spot on. Simple, comforting Italian. The tables were a little tight, and the high tops were a little cold being close to the door but such is life. I live in an area that has a heavy Italian influence - so I was worried that all these north end places were going to be a tourist trap for hapless midwesterners. Thankfully I was wrong. Beneventos was not my first choice. My first choice had a 45 minute wait. Benevento told us there was a 10-15 minute wait - was closer to 20-25 minutes. We survived. Food - penne vodka with chicken - when it's good it's great - when it's bad it's a bland mess. This was good, the aromatics were bumping, the chicken was tender, I found extra break extra chicken cutlet extra anything to sop up this sauce - it was very good. Even my date liked it. Date went for the fig salad and an eggplant rolatini - second excellent sauce of the meal. Just a regular old red sauce that was lip smacking good. Pizza for the kids. Thin crust, crispy, they are the whole thing. Also got them some plain pasta which they did eat. Kitchen is open so that adds to the ambiance. This. Place. Is. FIREEEEE. I've had many North End Italian dinners, and I had never been here before. Was pleasantly surprised at how good it was!! We had a group of 5, with reservations which is recommended, and felt totally comfortable with their Covid procedures. We ordered 2 bottles of wine from their wide selection, and our lovely waitress recommended one of them. I totally recommend Chianti but that's just my preference! The service was incredible and very attentive. They gave us free dessert AND LIMONCELLO SHOTS for a birthday in our party. Italian delicacies here people. Now the food. Wow. Even when you make a reservation you're probably waiting 30-45 minutes to be seated, and then once you're seated you should expect to wait 60 min for your food once you order. Dinner with a colleague to satisfy my urge for pasta. We were mostly alone here in Benevento's and the service was excellent. To start, we ordered the "Little Jon" pizza. It is definitely too big for one and a great to share, this was nicely loaded with chicken and fresh herbs. Very tasty, a thin crust that was quite firm. For main course, my colleague chose the bolognese and I chose the Pasta Benevento. A large portion of penne noodles with chicken and sun dried tomatoes and peas and cream. Very tasty and it reheated well the next day. Service was good but we were not offered any fresh grated cheese even though there was a big block of it nearby. I ended up helping myself. Let me start by saying, I'm a tourist. Apparently it's fairly common in Boston for tables to be right up on each other. This is not the norm in ATL. I heard every annoying word uttered from the 2 college girls sitting next to us. The also had no self awareness or volume control and were on 10 the entire time! So the ambiance here is LOUD! The service was good. The food was ehhh. Based on the other reviews left here, I had higher expectations. Maybe the chef hasn't gotten his taste back since Covid or something but my pasta had no flavor. My friend said the same thing. We ate less than 50% of our $30+meals and didn't take it to go. Came here with The Boy as our stop on the Tour de Boston's Carbonaras. Seating is tight but we got a great one by the window and our server was incredibly friendly. I was recovering from a cold so it was nice to see Minestrone on the menu. I thought I was ordering a starter soup but the portion was large and it warmed my body and soothed my scratchy throat. After slurping away for 15 minutes, I still ended up taking 3/4 of a bowl home! I ordered the Vodka Sauce but the star of the dish is the HOMEMADE FUSILLI. I love that all of their pasta is homemade: it shows, it tells, and it's perfect! You wouldn't even know they're known for their pizza but that's what The Boy got and that really knocked our socks off. It was definitely hard to choose as all their Specialties sounded great but we opted for the Spukonie (Italian sausage, ricotta cheese, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil) - everything went together perfectly and the crust was a great texture - not too thick and very crispy. I made a reservation thru Yelp and it failed. This is twice with the Yelp system so I don't believe it's the restaurants fault. Once there the staff accommodated us with good attitude. The service was very good, our server was experienced and fun. We ordered the Vodka sauce pizza and Gnocchi Putenesca w/sausage. Both of these dishes were delicious. Our experience was a good one. My wife and I traveled from Nashua New Hampshire to Boston to see Nate Bargatze at the Garden. We went to Benevento afterwards for dinner. We really enjoyed our food but my wife discovered she had left one of her very nice leather gloves behind. The next day, I called the restaurant and they had it. A local Facebook group recommended this restaurant. This was our first time in the North End since Covid hit to celebrate a friends birthday. We had reservations for 3 PM on a Saturday and arrived on time but waited about 20 minutes before we could be seated as several tables who had finished were taking their time to leave. A busboy offered water immediately and our server followed soon after to offer drinks but we had already decided on our dinner so proceeded to order. Complimentary Italian bread and butter was served. It's always disappointing when you get mediocre bread at an Italian restaurant, which is what they had. Our salads, one house salad and one Caesar salad for two, arrived fairly quickly. The Caesar salad was delicious and chock-full of dressing. The house salad was pretty standard. Our meals followed shortly. Our friend ordered the shrimp and scallops Benevento with the fresh made fusilli. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the fusilli was excellent. She was unable to finish her dish after sharing the Caesar. The hubby ordered the eggplant parm over gluten free penne. The eggplant was lightly battered and fried with a sweeter tomato sauce, also excellent and a huge portion. I ordered the shrimp and calamari fra diavolo over gnocchi'. The gnocchi's were pillowey soft, the fra Diavolo sauce was perfectly spiced and the calamari was so tender and flavorful. We were all very satisfied with our meals and server who was very pleasant. The only cons: the small wait before being seated, the mediocre bread and though our server was friendly, she never checked on us after the food arrived and we had to ask for water refills. In the north end you can't really go wrong. That said some places are better than others. This place is solid but not the best. The pasta is fresh and the sauce is nice. But the pasta needs seasoning (salt) as it's a bit bland. Wish they had fountain drinks as a warm ish can of coke when it's 99 degrees wasn't as appealing as I was hoping it would be. The kids meals are large. The ravioli was the star of the show for me - which was actually my kid's meal. The service was nice and the bathrooms were clean and easy to get to. A nice stop and you wi t be sad but there are better options. read more

We had the Spukonie (10/10) and a Cheese pizza and they both so light with a ton of flavor and clearly so much detail put into making them! Have come by a couple times time and must say Vodka Classic and Vanessa's Pesto are my personal favorites as they're the ones I feel you can't find anywhere else. Vodka classic seems to be an elevated margherita but just surpasses it. It is made with vodka sauce and then topped off with fresh basil, prosciutto, and cheese. Really great option if you're looking to step away from just a traditional margherita and looking for that little extra something. A bit more though I'd say I prefer the Vanessa's Pesto. Though I usually prefer a traditional red sauce on pizza this one is a major mind changer with the pesto! The pesto base is then layered with cheese, grilled chicken, and caramelized onions. Only thing I will say is that the first time the ratio of ingredients was just perfect, second time however they went a bit heavy on the onions (easily picked off though).
