Actually this was the first time we had been to this restaurant. They have a incredible birthday offer that you can use Monday through Thursdays the month of your birthday. Sign up for the birthday club and they will give you a $30 off coupon. The restaurant was super busy there was a Thursday evening. I can't believe money times the waiters had to sing Happy Birthday during the time we were there. Restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly. Always exciting and fun to watch the chefs prepare the food and interact with the tables so we had a great time. The food was delicious. Izzy, our hibachi cook was very fun and food tasted great except for the yellowtail sushi that had a lot of the bloodline on it(prepared by different cook). The floor was so dirty and sticky??!! Can management power wash the carpet, my gosh. Also, women's restrooms was gross too. One door didn't close properly and there wasn't any soap. Floors messy. Everything went wrong Ended up being here for 3 hours. My family of 4 arrived at 5:15 for 5:30 reservation for 5. Our late person was on their way but they couldn't seat us until they arrived. We did notice the inside had dirty floors and the bathrooms were gross too. About 20 mins went by and one lady decided to seat us like for 4 people but we told her we were waiting for 1 more person so she was like oh just kidding then sent us to another empty table. We were told that we had the whole table to ourselves so they removed the other plates. It was about 5:50 and our server took drink and food order right away. Then about 15 mins later, they sat 4 people next to us. So we had to wait for them to order and they took about 10 mins. We ate out salads and soups like normal and by then it was probably about 6:30pm Finally the first Chef came about 6:40pm. After cooking corn for the birthday boy he started cooking the fried rice. About halfway through cooking it, he started repeating our order. When he got to the last person (my dad) he realized that no one ordered salmon but it was on his cart. He then kept saying that he's at the wrong table and someone messed up. After cooking for us for about 15 mins, he scooped everything off the stove even the fried rice that was already cooking then basically left saying wrong table and a new chef will be back in a few mins. We waited a long time. The new chef came about 7:30pm. By this time everyone at the table was hangry and even our new chef didn't know what happened to the old chef. Our new chef started cooking and he was short on everything for his food. We had to get an extra bowl of fried rice, 1 extra zucchini. When the chef was cooking the chicken, I noticed a long strand of hair on the chicken. I told the chef and he put it to the side. He called out to an older man wait staff and the guy yelled at him saying "can't you see I'm cleaning a table!" But I think he was joking. Bathrooms were so gross only with paper towels on the floor, no soap in the dispensers and only 1 stall had toilet paper. One member of our party told the bartender twice that it was out. But it didn't get filled until we were finally leaving. It was a Sunday and they would not accept birthday coupon and they only accept it mon-Tuesday We needed up leaving at 8:30 pm. Pretty solid overall but I'm kind of bummed and i can't see not mention that there is no warning that the fried rice is an extra $8 compared to steamed rice. I thought i was basically getting asked if I want my eggs scrambled or fried ("do you want steamed or fried rice?"). No warning whatsoever that it'd be an extra $8. You get charged $8 which is the same price as ordering a full side of fried rice. If you do that and get the fried rice, you don't get any of the steamed rice that comes with the meal I discovered. Benihana is a fun experience with good food. Over the years, the prices have become a little expensive for the food, however you are also paying for a show and the ambiance. The service was pretty good overall, and it is nice they give you a few extras if there is a birthday in your party. I was impressed with the overall quality and taste of the entrees, however the upcharging ($3 for fried rice?) is getting a little extreme. One positive is they do give you a lot of food and you are certain to leave with leftovers for the next few days. First off I love Benihana. I love the art of food being prepared. I love the sights and sounds of the restaurant . I love the experience Benihana as a whole gives to customers. I have been visiting Benihana restaurants since I was a teenager. My experience at this particular restaurant was not my favorite. Mom and I went for lunch and chose to sit in the lounge. Seth was our server. When we sat down he had two tables in the lounge. Seth's attitude and service should be reconsidered if he's going to work in the service industry. Yikes that guy was horrible. Is he new? Was he having a bad day? Did he not like that he had an additional table on top of being behind the bar? Who knows but what I do know is he was no good. The food was not great. We ordered the lunch specials. Me steak and chicken. Mom shrimp and yakisoba. We were told it came with fried rice and do we want to add chicken. I think we were both thinking we had to get the fried rice and not white rice so we said no to the fried rice with no chicken but in hindsight I'm wondering why I didn't speak up about having white rice. I don't know, the whole experience was weird. When we got our food we didn't have utensils so after he put our plates down we had to sit and wait for him to bring us some while our food sat there and got cold. Also mom asked for soy sauce that never came. I want to say we should have been given water from the get go but maybe we needed to ask for that too. ‍ The fried rice was spicy. I've never had spicy fried rice but I guess the chef in the lounge was heavy on the pepper. That's what we get for eating in the lounge. As far as the ambiance, the table of 3 women next to us seemed pretty chill and even they seemed to be in question of his attitude when he came back and forth to their table. The table behind us, a couple seemed a bit upset with their service and Seth didn't look happy then either. We could barely hear Seth when he did come to the table and I don't remember it being loud in the lounge so he needs to speak up and put a smile on his face and take him out of there. When we walked in for our 5 pm reservation - it was obvious the AC was broken. It was miserably hot. There were several managers running around trying to fix it. When it came time for us to sit down, apparently half the restaurant was okay to sit - since that half of the restaurant had working AC... but the half we were sat in did not. It was the most miserable experience. Not once did one of the three managers stop to ask us how we felt. There were 9 of us, each with our own meal and none of the managers thought to check in with our table while it was obvious we were sweating? Also, our waitress, while super nice, mis-wrote many items for our food. None of us ordered salmon, but she wrote down that we did. She mixed up drinks, never cleared our plates or cups, we'd have to ask numerous times for more water or hand her plates. She apologized for her many delays because she had a table on the other side of the restaurant. This was a birthday dinner for my sister, and we easily spent $400 on our table and there was no discount for the broken AC or even the politeness to move us? It was ridiculous!! We first went to this Benihana when we visited last year. However, I didn't review it then. This year, our son-in-law and grandsons asked if we all could go again. It seems that they hadn't been there since our last visit. We told our son-in-law to make a reservation, which he did. We had planned on a party of six but one of our grandsons recently got a part-time job and had to work that day. So...it was a party of five. We were seated at a table by a window along with a family of three. Our chef was friendly and he did a great job preparing our food. I dare say he was better than the chefs as of late at our local Benihana. All our food was prepared in a timely fashion. Plus, when our son-in-law let the chef know that he has a shrimp allergy, the chef was very careful when it came to preparing it. We all got the chicken fried rice, which, of course, costs extra but it is worth it. Three of us got the filet mignon dinner cooked medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. One grandson got chicken teriyaki and his Dad got the tuna steak. The server who took care of us was friendly, prompt and efficient. When we returned home, I asked our youngest grandson of all the restaurants we ate at during this trip to see them, what was his favorite? He said "Benihana". Hubby& I haven't been to a Benihana in 20+ years. We had dinner here tonight. We have tried all the teppanyaki restaurants near us. We just can't find one that is constantly good. Unfortunately, I will still be looking. Our cook didn't put on a very good show at all. We don't sit at the table for the show though. We only sit there because our experience with sitting at a regular table has never been good. The food is always better at the actual tables with a cook. Service was slow. They are skimpy on the vegetables, and you don't get mushrooms unless you order the steak. I didn't like the dressing on the salad. like every other place we have been to, but theirs is different. Where I was sitting there was dried rice stuck to the table. There was also dried rice in front of me in the grove where the table meets the grill. We ordered the pork dumplings to share. I ordered the file, and hubby tried the salmon. We also got 3 beers, and 3 peach sangrias. Hubby said he wouldn't get the salmon again. He normally gets the filet too. We liked the soup. We had a reservation in the morning for 4 for 8pm. We showed up 20 minutes early to check in and were told that they were 30 minutes behind on reservations. It's a Saturday night and it was busy and we were early so okay, fine. 8:45 rolls around and we still hadn't been seated. We asked the hostess again and she said that there was one group in front of us. Three groups were then called before we just left. I just don't understand why I made a reservation in the first place if we still waited over an hour and people who were walk ups were being sat before us. Even after being told "only one group ahead of you" there were still multiple groups called. The hostess never once smiled, apologized for the wait, or even greeted us when we came in. The bathrooms were disgusting. We over heard multiple other parties with reservations being told there was a 30-45 minute delay while we were waiting. We decided to check online how long the wait said and they were still accepting reservations for 8 and 8:15. Why are you doing that if you cannot keep up with the guests you already have waiting? When it is a minimum of $50 per person, I expect reservations to be honored and the restaurant and bathrooms to be clean.
