The ambiance is great as well -- they have classic 80s music playing 24/7. This is a cool area by the Highland ACC campus that i didn't know existed. Came here specifically to get a Mexican hot chocolate which wasn't great but I've had Bennu coffee before which has always been good. The coffee shop is open 24 hours which is a plus. This is my go to study spot these weeeks as finals approaches as it's the only place I've found here open 24/7! That alone makes this place need to be protected because they're so rare and SUCH a necessity when you can't get work done at home and need to get out and get some work done. The ambience is perfect because everyone inside really seems to be focused on getting work done and there is seating outside for people wanting to chat. There is plenty of seating inside though it can get quite full even at 11am, you just gotta wait 5 min and something will open up though. Coffee selection is decent, and the baristas are super kind. The three hour WiFi rule is worth it, definitely should support local business especially rare ones that stay open so late! You've got to street park which is the only downside. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the aesthetics and seating of this cafe! The coffee is pretty good, affordable, and customizable. The Pecan Larry cold brew was not bad, as it's just an unsweetened version of the Iced Bennu. I appreciate that they keep their lattes sub $4 and that the drinks are made very promptly. I saw some food/snack options too. The cafe itself is a great place to work/study. It has a couple of tables for a group of max 4, and plenty of spots for 2. It has good cafe music, plenty of outlets, a comfortable temperature, water on tap, wifi (for 3 hrs), and clean bathrooms. Parking is free. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is Bennu's newer, larger location right next to the revamped ACC campus. Open 24 hours and filled with lots of tables and seating, it's an ideal spot to work, study or for a late night coffee if you're in the area and need a pick me up. Coffee is well prepared at Bennu. Their syrups are a little bit sweeter than what I've come to prefer, but overall they're pretty good. Staff on one occasion was as friendly as a rock. On another occasion, very warm and welcoming. I suppose the experience you get depends on who's working and how tired / energized they are. Because I have to wake up early for work I can't say I'll be able to enjoy the night owl experience, but I always appreciate a place that tries to be available during extended hours. WOW! THIS PLACE IS SO NICE !! The chairs are quite comfy, the coffee is very tasty, the atmosphere is very conducive to working. Whoever interior decorated this place is a genius, every angle is beautiful to look at. It feels like you are in a modern, more hip study that every mansion has, which (at least for me) drives my productivity. As for the coffee, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, I got the Iced Bennu - tasted great, a bit sweet for my liking but kept me awake :). My only complaint is that the wifi only lasts for 3 hours, unless you buy another drink. read more

I've loved going to Bennu coffee downtown to study so I'm thrilled to have a location a lot closer to me. It's a similar vibe, but definitely a lot more spaced out. This is by far one of my favorite coffee shops in Austin. It checks off all the boxes of good coffee, aesthetic interior, kind service, and am unbeatable operating hours of 24 hours. I've always loved the Bennu Coffee franchise and have been hopping between their 2 older locations in Downtown Austin. But this Highland one really outdid itself. I love the library aesthetic with the plants, bookshelf, and the couches. It really gives this place such a cozy ambiance that makes it great place to study. The lighting here is great during the daytime and just right even in the butt crack of night at 3/4am in the morning. My go to order here is always the Iced Bennu with Whip Cream. This is always my recommendation for first timers because it is one of their signature drinks that has just the right balance of espresso and cream. It's neither too sweet or too bitter and it will most definitely keep you going for a good while. The staff here is also extremely sweet. They work around the clock to keep this place running and whether you are here at 3pm or 3am, the quality of the service does not change. I came here today and I just asked about a Matcha lemonade which is not on the menu and the staff was so sweet and experimented with some recipe and the drink was delicious. Some tips if you do plan on studying here, bring headphones!! The music does tend to be on the louder side and there tends to be a lot of people so the noise level is a bit high if you need to focus, come prepared to block out some noise. They did recently start to implement a wifi-code system where you can connect up to 3 devices per code for around 3 hours. I would recommend having all your friends connect to one code and cycle through each of them as you stay. read more

Wifi is available with a purchase and runs out after a few hours so you will need to purchase something every few hours which is great because their menu is amazing! From teas and seasonal coffee favorites to kombuchas and matcha lattes, you will not be lacking in drink choices for every season. The food options are delicious and creative! A popular work or study space! It can be packed. I came here on a weekday afternoon and the parking garage was pretty full. Luckily this coffee house is huge with tons of seating areas. Many with outlets and lighting. As expected, you need to make a purchase to get a wifi code. I think it last 3 hours and it makes sense since it's right next to ACC's mega campus. I've had their mochas which is kind of their thing since they have an entire menu of mocha drinks. The Don Quixote was alright but like boba you have to mix it throughly to get the intended taste. Another time I had a chai but couldn't really taste the spice at all so a pass on that. Service is friendly. They have pastries as well and even macaroons. You do have to buy something for a 3 hour Wi-Fi pass and if you want more time you buy something else. It is typically packed but not loud- perfect amount of noise for studying for me. I love to study late and this is a great place to do so- there are many people that stay after 12 so it feels safe as well. You do have a parking garage to park in. There is a lot of space to sit alone, not as many if you are with a group of people. I don't recommend this location for a social gathering, moreso for independent working. The biggest concern for this location is that you must purchase an item to get an individual code to use the wifi that only lasts 3 hours. I understand it is a business and needs inflow of money, but if you are on a budget and need to study for several hours, I would recommend elsewhere. Bennu Coffee is a small clean coffee shop strategically located across the street from the Austin Community College (ACC) in Highland (North Austin). It sits on the first floor on Five-two Apartments. Bennu Coffee offers several different coffee option to include hot and iced drinks. Additionally, it has some food items to take care of your hunger cravings during the breakfast, lunch and early dinner hours. Items on the menu include sandwiches and breakfast burritos. There is ample free parking to park your car and many chairs to sit to include inside or outside seating. Bennu Coffee is pet friendly so you can have your best friend with you as you relax in the outside seating area. You can take your pet inside when you order. I am not sure about other type of pets coming from the reptile side of this planet, but dogs are good to go. Many people stop, buy some coffee, grab a chair and log onto their personal laptops using the free Wi-Fi provided by Bennu. The bathrooms are gender neutral and very clean. The barista's are friendly, quick, and efficient. They can have your order in just a couple of minutes faster than some drive thru restaurants. The only thing I can think that is a negative are the hours. Currently they are only open 7 AM to 5 PM. The coffee is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The next time you are looking for a place to relax in a nice and clean atmosphere, stop by Bennu Coffee for a while and enjoy your day. As David Rose of Schitt's Creek would say, "I'm OBSESSED." It's my favorite coffee shop in Austin after my first visit today. Best (and cheapest) matcha I've ever had. Normally when you get to the end of the drink, the matcha is chunky and needs to be re-mixed but it wasn't the case with theirs. They also had the greatest environment inside and the staff was so upbeat and kind. Check out the photos to see the space. I love the 15-20 ft ceilings and huge windows so you can see the sky and live oaks outside. The area is also really safe and I felt totally comfortable walking around outside. read more

OF COURSE, Excellent espresso and coffee products, yummy food & sweets from local bakeries & friendly (experienced) baristas. I stepped inside and forgot some of the bustle of life, with the modern-industrial vibe, music, relaxing blue/green & wood color palette, colorful oil paintings from local artists, and SO MUCH SPACE!!! HUGE indoor area with multiple seating "zones" - so plenty of space for social distancing. Furnished like a turn-of-the-century Library or English Study, with brass table lamps on wooden desktops (seperated by unobtrusive plexiglass,) vintage books, potted plants & built-in bookcases, stocked with games & reading materials. Social-distancing floor stickers have a QR code with the menu on it! Inside: Couch / Loveseats & Comphy chairs by bookshelves in a Living Room type arrangement. Long bartop w/ lamps facing the outside, Desktops with power & USB plugs, round dining room tables, brass café tables, & bench seating along the back walls. Outside: Covered Patio with bistro tables, another section with lawn furniture. It's located directly across from ACC greenspace with individual outdoor chairs, picnic tables, shaded decks under large Oak Trees, & a grassy area for pets & people. It's a tiny new street on the corner of Highland Campus Blvd, so look for the Violet pipe-art thing, across from Brewtorium, just east of Airport... or venture into the commercial area until you see the grove of trees on Jacob Fontaine. Located in a super college friendly area, this is the place to go if you need to get work done. The entire space is designed for good work flow and it's large and airy like a library. The coffee is just average. Their Mochas list is actually quite good, though I think the heavy flavorings do a lot as it tasted like I was just drinking chocolate milk as opposed to coffee that has some chocolate flavoring. Their pastries are really good though. Hands down some of the best college town cafe croissants I've ever had. The counter staff are also nice and super patient. I really appreciated them not being (or at least not showing) any annoyance with me since I was unintentionally being kind of complicated and wishy washy with my order. TLDR: it's a great place if you're trying to get work down with the added benefit of nice people to chat with and coffee/good pastries. If your just here for the coffee, know that the blend itself is average and anything flavored may erase the taste of coffee. read more
