The "pub" seating area is really great. It looks like it would be fun to have drinks and an appetizer, it has a great vibe and feel. The food is ok if you have a food sensitivities or allergies it's a bit challenging to eat here. Overall the food our meal it was "ok". My husbands fish was undercooked. The items from the bar were fine but not outstanding. Bentley's is an institution here but for our tastes things are a little dated. Went there on a Friday night and we were treated like royalty. Service was fantastic but the food was even better. My wife had ordered the beef tips and I had ordered the fillet. They were both cooked to perfection. if I didn't live three hours from here, I would make this a weekly occurrence of eating at this establishment. The food was okay, a little shabby for the price I had the K.C. strip medium. The steak had good tenderness, however it was absolutely tasteless. I have never had to put so much salt and pepper on a steak. My wife had the pecan encrusted Salmon. She said it was amazing. It was cooked perfect, very tender, and sweet. It was not overboard on the pecan flavor. The sides: I had the garlic roasted potatoes and they were good, however three small potatoes for a side doesn't help constitute the price. This place doesn't really hold a candle, to real large city steak house. The server was friendly, however, she disappeared after the food was served and only returned once before she brought the check. The building was unique, with an an old English design. It appeared to be clean and well kept. The plus side is they actually are one of the few restaurants left that have linen table clothes. read more

We went to Bentleys last night. My husband ordered the prime rib and said it was tough and he did not enjoy it. I ordered the ribeye. I struggled to cut through it and it was tough to chew. For the price point on both of these choices, Bentley should produce a better cut of meat. The sides and salad were the best part of the meal. The service was good and friendly, but next time we are in the mood for prime rib or ribeye, we'll stay home and make it ourselves. I think we do a better job. The restaurant is nice inside overall with a nice ambiance, but we were there for the food and were just disappointed. read more

This is definitely my favorite restaurant at the lake. I have never had a bad meal there! The Scallops on the shell and the escargot are the best appetizers. You can't go wrong with the Mayfair salad dressing either. My go to order is the Scallops Newberg, rich dish but wonderful. Stephen or Kevin will always get your order done right! They are amazing servers who try to make sure you are well taken care of. The bartender Kim always makes fantastic drinks. The Nutty Monk is a personal favorite after dinner drink. Be sure to call in for a reservation in order to not have a super long wait on those busy nights! Kevin also makes amazing desserts but the best is the homemade Strawberry pie. Talk about the best pie ever! But you have to call in advanced and order that when strawberries are in season! The patio also has a wonderful view and sometimes the sunset is perfect! Super kitschy place. Walked in and loved the dark paneled walls and stained glass windows. Very old school in the best way. Service was top notch. Wine list was ok- not the highest end wines but plenty of reasonable choices. We had the prime rib and king crab legs. Both were really good. Salad and side was included. We chose their special salad of the night with tomatoes and blue cheese. A bit heavy handed with the blue cheese and the dressing. Our salads were drowned so next time I would ask for dressing on the side for sure. Service was great though- this type of service is hard to find nowadays and we really appreciated feeling taken care of. Regarding Covid - all staff wore masks and gloves per the state guidelines. After going to several places in the area this was the only one that seemed to abide by the state rules in place currently so kudos for that and trying to keep everyone safe. read more

Our last visit was disappointing, we had enjoyed Bentleys previously. French onion soup always wonderful but prime rib was cool, and the prime meat was like a round steak, not at all prime rib. Waiter was rather short with us, to our surprise, it was my husbands birthday he asked what do you have for birthdays and his comment was. " anything you want to buy" really? Nice place great waitress she definitely was on top of it and great salad but our shrimp was definitely uncooked had to take it home and cook it the rest of the way wouldn't recommend to go for a romantic date they have all the tables extremely close together and they don't even have the respect to ask people to politely to keep it down when people are trying to have a nice dinner there's a bar area for a reason I'm not usually the person to complain but I've never went to any restaurant that was this loud unless it was a bar. read more

My husband and I come into town about once a year and always stop at Bentley's. The food is always exceptionally good, and our service is always fantastic. The same male server (not sure if he's related or just a loyal worker) has been there every time we have gone for the last 6 years. He told us once several years ago, after enjoying a delicious slice of coconut cream pie for dessert, that it is home made and we should call in advance to make sure that it's on the menu for the night we come in. Well, we did that this time, and our server (a nice woman this time) let us know that he is the gentlemen who makes those pies! Ever since this COVID-19 thing took over the restaurant business, I've been highly skeptical of carryout service. Never-the-less, it was late and I decided to try it. Ordered prime rib with sides of salad, baked potato and roll. I have to say, the meal was every bit as good as I've had with sit-down service. Everything was hot, cooked to perfection with generous condiments, and ready to go in about 25 minutes. You had at least a 4-star review coming with the fantastic drinks on the beautiful patio followed by probably the best French Onion soup I ever had and then...then...you bring me a flavorless steak. Dammit! Steaks are supposed to be your thing. I recommend coming to Bentley's for drinks and apps on their scenic patio. We did just that, then moved inside for dinner. I was willing to overlook our overly cocky waiter who was "hooking us up" with things like rolls. Wow, thanks! (sarcasm) Everything was going great with the drinks, the Oysters Rockefeller, the delicious French Onion soup. Then the salads came. They were disappointing, mostly iceberg lettuce. Oh well, whatever, we had steaks coming! Out comes what looks like a wonderful filet mignon with absolutely no seasoning. I had ordered a side of bearnaise sauce that should have taken care of that, but it was horrible. It lacked the acid that should come from a bearnaise sauce and just tasted like chicken stock. My boyfriend (who cooks for a living) said it probably came from an instant mix. Noooo! I probably would have given them 3 stars until we went to another steakhouse the following night that did everything right, reminding me how wrong my steak was here. read more

I was expecting a lot more from this place than what I found... First of all the Decour is straight out of the 70s... The restaurant itself is at least 40 years old... It looks every bit of that... Dark wood and red are the predominant color scheme... It has a carpeted floor that looks about five years past its lifespan The menu pricing is on the high side 30+ dollars for a steak dinner... We ordered clam chowder... It was presented 15° hotter than is meant for human consumption... One tasting you wanted to spit it out and grab a cold glass of water fast.... is that a big deal you might ask... For level that this restaurant seeksto position itself that... I would certainly say so I ordered a ribeye, medium... That's the most flavorful cut of meat, and most flavorful temperature to present... Typically... This however came out next to raw and had almost no taste... Unbelievable... a $37 steak that was "Like chewing silly putty" ... gag ... 2 bites in the server stopped by and asked how my steak was, I asked for a box, she went to get one instead of immediately asking what the problem might be and what she could do to fix it... I'll take the meat back hand see if it makes my dog sick. We also had pepper steak at our table... Typically a pepper steak is peppered around the perimeter to give it a flavorful crunch... This steak was completely covered in pepper so thick that you had to scrape it off with a knife to get to the meat... One bite sent you running for a glass of water and a toilet to throw up in! The taste of pepper was absolutely so overwhelming you could not possibly know that you were eating a steak... You might as well have been eating shoe leather- it would not have made any difference. The service was mediocre at best... We waited longer than was necessary in between soup salad main course and dessert and the presentation of the bill... When we did get our check the waitress leaned up against a pole nearby and said "I guess now it's time for the bad part ha ha"... I asked her if she didn't like preparing checks for some reason... And she said "most people don't like this"... And for two meals averaging $43 each - that tasted the way they - did I can sure see why! I don't know what these regulars see in this place.. perhaps a fiduciary interest in their reviews? We sure did not get anything that warranted the expense! If you're looking for the newest trendy hotspot at the Lake, well, don't look here. It's apparent they don't like change much at Bentley's. The décor is faux English "pub" I guess. Nothing has been updated, in probably 30 years. That might be an exaggeration, but not by much. So maybe the first impression was a bit disappointing, but everything else was really top notch for us. We tried two dishes: A baked dish with scallops, shrimp and lumps of crab in a heavy lobster bisque, and a tenderloin medallion dish that also had a heavy sauce that included swiss cheese. This kind of food preparation is not so much the style of the day either, BUT they were both awesome dishes. I had a house salad with bleu cheese, which was also pretty awesome. The wine recommendations made by our waiter were also excellent. This is a fairly high-end restaurant - expect to spend $50pp, especially if you're a drinker. The service was perfect. We noticed they have a very nice patio, so we'll be back for sure on a day when we can check it out. read more

The restaurant and landscaping are very well maintained and beautiful. Bentley's checks all the boxes. It has a beautiful outdoor space, great food and top notch service. Our glasses were always filled, and our plates were cleared promptly. The shrimp cocktail had a generous serving of five jumbo shrimp. The NY peppercorn strip was to die for (especially with the bernaise sauce). The salad was crisp, fresh and full of delicious veggies. The homemade Key Lime pie was the cherry on top, with homemade graham cracker crust. We used to go to JJ's at the Copperpot until they changed the menu. I've been to Bentley's at least a dozen times in the last few years and they never disappoint. I've been there enough that I've even developed a favorite waitress too (Sandy). Although, all of the servers are great, Sandy has always gone above and beyond to make our visit special. Birthdays, anniversaries, or just "kid free", Sandy has always found a way to make it extra special for us. We don't even have to tell her that it's a special occasion, she'll ask and if we say "no" She'll find a ways to make it special!! She actually remembers my family every time we go in! Now onto the food. My steak has always been cooked to perfection at Bentley's, the seafood is fantastic, and they always have great specials. My favorites are the Escargot, and the Steak Neptune.
