Not a very friendly place to stop by. Please beware that the server lady will raise her voice to the top of her lungs in your face if you're in her way. We ordered the toasted ravioli. The ravioli and sauce were both covered in cheese and the filling in the ravioli was reminiscent of hamburger helper. It was inedible. We also ordered grilled shrimp, which were clearly frozen shrimp and tasted mushy and had a grainy texture. Also inedible. There was also an order of kebabs which had good flavor but were served lukewarm and with a cold center. My girlfriend said this was the worst food she'd had in a while and I can say with certainty that I agree. I cannot recommend this restaurant. I have been contemplating writing this review regarding our recent visit. I understand that everyone is dealing with extreme conditions and struggles operating businesses in this time of need. From staffing, hours and how to deliver a safe and memorable dining experience. We have made this or anniversary tradition to spend our evening dining at Bentley's. We found this spot many many years ago visiting the Lake area for our anniversary. We have always enjoyed a bottle of Taittinger and escargot among other things. On this visit it was our 19 anniversary and we where really liking forward to a great meal. Upon entering the establishment we where about 30 minutes early for our reservation so we could enjoy a cocktail outside before dinner. Instead we where greeted very abruptly with no "Welcome to Bentley's how are you this evening" or anything to this affect. We just had the just two follow me and the gentleman just walked off. We where not even asked or inquired about a reservation we had made prior. My wife tried to say excuse me as he was waking off but to no avail. When we arrived to the table he was standing by we let him know of our intentions of having a cocktail before dinner outside. There was no that's fantastic or great let's get you setup outside or follow me I'll direct you to the patio area. Instead we where told we can not hold the window view table for you. Seemed odd because he didn't even ask if we had a reservation. Truth be told we didn't mind where we sat inside, outside or a dark corner. We have been coming for years and have say all over. Once outside things turned better for the moment with the gentleman taking good care of us with drinks and appetizers. After this it's was right on time for the reservations we had made so we went back inside and where oddly sat at the table we where told was not able to be heard. Again the service with the waitress was great and the meal was paced just right to really enjoy the food and the company. We and I believe the owners and other patrons would consider Bentley's a fine dining restaurant. So when I order a steak with a bake potato as my side I do not consider a package of sour cream as an appropriate accompaniment for this type of establishment. Take a bit of pride and portion this out in something that will suit the presentation of the meal. The knife given to cut the ribeye I had ordered couldn't cut through hot butter. Felt like I was sawing through a tree and not a beautiful cut of meat. I know there is a pandemic but this is lack of attention to detail. The little things make the visit. This really turned me off. I know it sounds petty but the combination of the entrance which set the mood for the visit and the attention to detail really left a bad taste in my mouth for this establishment. There are a handful of other establishments in the local area offering the fine dining experience with exquisite food too. To be on par or above please take a look at the details it really does matter when you having a $$$$ dinner. read more

Not being a fan of English food, this place has a lot more to offer than your typical English place. Lots of seafood, chicken and meat. MMEEAATTT My oldest brother lived around the Lake for a while and he enjoyed treating mother to nice dinners. And I was there. This place and another place are the nicest places to eat at the Lake. David liked coming here for the steak. He would splurge and get appetizers, entrees and desserts for us. My parents love Bentley's as it is old school good food. It has been around for decades and you know what you will be getting. The menu is basic, steaks, fish, etc. and traditional in nature. Three people at our table of four ordered steak. All three were disappointed. Strip steaks were tough and chewy. While cooked properly, it was a disaster to eat. Dull silverware made cutting a literal chore. While steak sauce on side was gloppy and congealed. Overall, very very lackluster. And given the price, effectively an insult. Unfortunately the main course was very average. The bacon wrapped jalapeño shrimp and the cocktails were good. The salad and the French dressing was good but the prime rib tasted old and like roast beef. Bentley's is the best restaurant at lake of the Ozarks. It isn't the cheapest place to eat but the cost is definitely worth the food and service. Not to mention, it's not the most expensive by any means either. I couldn't tell you how many times I've been and have never had bad service and have always thoroughly enjoyed the food. I've tried a multitude of menu items and have never been disappointed. Whether you're looking for a fancy date night or wanna have a more casual, delicious dinner, Bentley's is my go to restaurant. Also the escargot and scallops Newburg are my favorite menu items. read more

Started out with appetizers, crab Rangoon and scallops scampi style on the half shell. Both excellent. Dana had the house salad, Jim had the spinach salad. Both good and crispy and great homemade dressings. Jim had the evenings special of filet medallions with a shrimp cream sauce. Dana had the prime rib. I had the ahi tuna salad. The vegetable side was broccoli with hollandaise sauce. The waiter was attentive, everything was served either hot or cold as it should be. Food was prepared correctly and was very tasty. All in all a very nice experience. Would we go back? Yes. But would go back more often if they stopped allowing smoking in the bar. I was impressed when we pulled in the parking lot, then was a little scarred when we entered the front door....there's a smell... not sure what.... musty? ....old? not terrible just not good. The smell dissipated as soon as we entered the dining room... just smelled deliciousness. I loved dining room at first sight. It's not brightly lit... I don't like bright dinner lighting. We chose to go out on the patio first. There were 2 guys playing acoustics and I should remember there names but I can't dern it! We started with a Scallop appetizer, a Margherita and cosmopolitan on the magnificent patio. All 3 were great and the Margherita was really good.... it was not at all that sugary sweet or sour that a Margherita can sometimes be. The view, waterfall, and the great music set the mood on a Friday to forget the hectic week we were wanting to leave behind. Our server was good and clean but it looked like her apron had been used for weeks... a little skeevy. We could have stayed on the patio all evening, but to get the full menu we had to go inside. I ordered the Bentley cut prime rib with the broccoli hollandaise and my husband had the scallop entree with the rice pilaf. We both the house dressing, Mayfair. It's not offered everywhere but it's one of my favorites! The dressing was perfect tasting. The salad is tossed and there was just a little too much dressing for my liking... next time I'll order it on the side. They served us warm rolls which were nothing special, but we both like butter and their butter was phenomenal!!!! We will normally just share a roll and probably not finish it but we each ate 2 because we LOVED the butter. Our server told us it was Grassland. I will look for it at the market. The scallops were rich. The steak was perfectly prepared and very very flavorful. The broccoli hollandaise was done better than I anticipated (I cleaned it up) and even the rice was great for a rice pilaf, the rice was not overdone. I had a glass of Cabernet with dinner. It was good , but I have a pet peeve about red wine glasses, didn't like theirs, and eh....I got over my peeve We opted to skip dessert and get back out on that patio. We could the guys were still playing and the sunset was calling our names. We had grasshoppers and creme de menthe and both above the average..must have been he had 2 and I had three. They just kept getting better. Lol We listened and danced to the music. They were awesome and when I remember their names I'll update this review. They did more than attempt my crazy requests from Puff the Magic Dragon, Don Williams, Bridge Over Troubled Water...etc. We had a delightful experience here. We will be back again. read more

Service is average. Decor needs update. Asked for a table by window. Not being a local resulted in a table as far away as possible. Host said the window tables were reserved but I saw open window tables throughout my dinner. Salad was soaked in sickingly sweet dressing. The only reason I am giving this place a negative review is because they employee a waitress like Olivia. She is beyond rude and condescending. Acts like we are wasting her time. We sat on the patio for dinner and were treated like garbage. My friend and I did nothing other than ask questions about the sides that comes with dinner and the dressings on the salad. After dinner on the patio, we went into the bar to finish our drinks and she was also in the bar counting her tips. Didn't say a single word to us as my friend and I sat here for about 30 minutes in here with her. She said goodbye to everyone but us. Hahahahaha. Omg. I was a waitress once before. You need to be personable, nice, smile, etc. in order for people to enjoy their time. This woman doesn't have what it takes. She's only here not make money. She can get a job somewhere else. Went with my family over the weekend food was good wife and I split oyster Rockefeller and escargot both were ok not great my filet was good overall everyone was happy. 6 adult and 4 kids $600.00 seemed a bit much. Now THAT was a good meal. Started off with a drink on the patio by the small waterfall feature. Drinks were just right ! My wife's drink was perfect. Nice way to ease into dinner. We went back in and we're seated right away at a cozy little table. The staff was surprisingly attentive without hovering over us. The waiter, Mel, was an old school waiter with excellent poise and attentiveness. First class! I asked for the French onion soup to start off with. - it was delicious. The cheese was cooked perfectly and the soup was fresh and crisp. My wife had the stuffed mushrooms. Again perfect. For dinner we had the prime rib. OUT OF SIGHT. Mine was the Texas cut which was charbroiled but medium rare. She had the Bentley's cut /med rare. Again perfect. We shared chocolate cake with strawberries. Wonderful. Dinner with 2 drinks and 2 glass of wine came to $142.00. I feel that for this amount of food and drinks that was a very fair price. Great atmosphere our waiter was very polite & did a very great job of explaining dishes to us. Our meal was cooked to perfection! I had the shrimp scampi and my boyfriend got the prime rib they both were to die for. We also had the sausage stuffed mushrooms as a starter & they were probably the best stuffed mushrooms I've ever had at a restaurant! An oldie but a goodie! I have been coming with my family to Bentleys for years. It's an English style steak and seafood place. I have always enjoyed the staff, they are very good at what they do. Just went again on Thursday night and had a lovely meal. I had a glass of Riesling I really enjoyed from the wine menu on the table. The I had the nights special which was French onion steak, what a great idea! Soo good with those amazing caramelized sauce soaked onions and greyere cheese melted on a delicious steak... Perfect! I hope that's something that comes up on special again! I had the fingerling potatoes as a side they were good and the salad with house Mayfair dressing was nice and fresh and a good size for a dinner salad. It was raining this night unfortunately so I couldn't take advantage of their lovely new patio bar but one of these days I hope to get a chance! Good food great staff always a nice time ! read more
