Service matters. Especially in this day and age with prices soaring sky high and customers having to make hard choices about when and where to spend money. I would describe this as a place for introverts who love sushi. If you don't want to interact with a single human during your whole visit, Bento Revolving Sushi is for you! But I actually like having someone warmly greet us, welcome us in, seat us, and walk us through how things work at the shop. ESPECIALLY when I shared that it was our first time to the restaurant. Especially when the restaurant has a nontraditional method for ordering. We ordered a beer from the ~one~ human trying to fill roles of host, server, busser and cashier (which in and of itself is ridiculous and too much to ask of a single employee). Ten minutes later, I was able to catch the attention of that one staffer. They came over and it was at that point they explained that we needed to order everything using the computer pad at our table. (Cool! Would have been excellent to know that when we first arrived or even when we ordered our beer.) To be fair, the beer arrived along with apologies about the wait. Thanks. Then we got excited for all of the many offerings in their extensive menu. We start ordering via the pad and had to show some restraint to not get too much directly from the kitchen, which is in addition to whatever is moving around the revolving "belt" that snakes its way by the ~13 tables available for customer use in the restaurant (several other tables were stacked with supplies and seemed to just be used for storage). And then we waited. We watched roll after roll sent out of the kitchen to one table in particular on their fairly cool automated conveyor system. Unique. Fun even! But man, that table was getting all the love. I guess they finish their tickets one table at a time rather than sending out a few items to each table to get people enjoying food throughout their visits. OK. After another 20 minutes of waiting, we inquired about our order. At that point (seriously, nearly 40 minutes after walking in the front door), the single staff told us that we had to hit the "send order" button on the pad. (I know. Obvious enough but I missed it and no one took time to spend 30 seconds telling us how to use their system.) None of our order had even been received by the kitchen let alone started. At this point, I was ready to pay for our beer and leave, but the husband talked me down. So we waited even longer, and eventually our meal started arriving, plate by plate. The food was really quite tasty. The shrimp tempura was yummy, served piping hot and we liked the addition of the crunchy noodles underneath. The rolls were good, although one was torched but wasn't under the torched menu, which was less than ideal since we'd already ordered one torched roll. The hamachi nigiri was fresh. The offerings on the belt were not very appetizing, made worse by someone having put back on the belt an empty, dirty plate of one of the desserts, which circulated during most of our visit. Gross. Lastly, nearly every surface was sticky and/or dirty. The screen of the ordering pad was gross. Under our table was so sticky the soles of my shoes were sticking to the floor. Just ick. If all of the other issues were set aside, I would likely consider returning. But honestly, there are plenty of great sushi places that have great customer service and would never leave a table unchecked for 10-20 minutes at a time. While I feel for the single staffer who said, "I'm really busy" (trying to do all the things that more than one person should be doing), I'm just not into excuses. All-you-can-eat meets revolving sushi, we had to give this a try. The sushi itself is pretty good for it's price point, and we only discovered toward the end of the meal the customizations you can make on the video screen (for example, deep frying any roll, which we don't recommend experimenting with because the chef knows best and has already put their best rolls forward...don't second guess their expertise unless it's an allergen issue). Service for drinks was flawless and friendly. I wouldn't say it's the best option in town for sushi, but it deserves to have a solid place in your rotation for your sushi cravings. Skyler was very helpful explaining how the all you can eat menu worked and she was overall very pleasant and kind. First off, I'd like to recognize the great service we received by one of the team members who was also helping the cooks in the kitchen at the time. He was very helpful and made the experience so comfortable and welcoming. I ended up ordering their Bi Bim Bap bowl with a side of kimchi that was a dollar extra (made in house), as well as a complementary bowl of Miso soup at the grace of our sweet server; the menu didn't specify that the soup was extra, so they made a compromise to suit my wants. The whole restaurant was pretty tidy and felt more intimate than a regular restaurant would look, which is right up my alley. Overall, me and my boyfriend had a wonderful time trying their sampler plates from the revolver and the delicious food we ordered. We were seated immediately and there was not sushi revolving at the time we went (weekday 3pm). The sushi was good I would not say the best I have ever had but worth the price. AYCE is $38 and the whole table will need to order it. It is totally worth it! Everything I ordered that was fried, was well fried, not oily or greasy and tasted great. I love the shrimp tempura with the real tempura bits, not panko or beer battered. My soft shell crab was hot and tasty. The salmon nigiri was fresh and good cuts. Ikura was lovely. The hand rolls were made with such care. Good portions of both fish and rice. The hamachi was my favorite. Large pieces that were NOT overcooked and dry, very juicy and the sauce that came with it was so yummy. I ate this with my fingers and my siblings were horrified at how quickly I ate it; it was that good. Hot and fresh, no fishy taste. I would come back for this all the time. Visited for the first time since Covid yesterday, pleasantly surprised with some of their changes! They now offer a conveyor belt option (in addition to the AYCE), where you can get half rolls versus whole rolls you would traditionally get with the AYCE option. There are a couple options not included in the AYCE like their cheesecake dessert however, there are other sweet treats included on the conveyor belt. The only let down was the side veggie of broccoli which was awkwardly huge and bland. We also split a sushi roll that had sliced lemon and raw fish that was delightful--always a fan of sushi that lets the fish sunbathe, not drown in a puddle of sauce. Our daughter loved her chicken strips and fries and the miso soup I ordered was also hot and satisfying. The place had a unique serving style--since COVID struck, they did away with their revolving sushi belt, but now have these compression powered delivery trays that shoot across dividers in the restaurant from the kitchen to your table where you pluck them off yourself. Kinda interesting. Could be awkward if you aren't certain what you ordered as each "stop" along the route is shared by two booths on either side (maybe the food came with an identifying number, I can't remember), but my daughter loved it and I would imagine it helps speed up service to some degree. My friends and I had our eye on their spot for awhile and finally decided to make the drive out. It's a bit hidden from the street but if you pull into the lot it's in the left corner! We were quickly seated and addressed. They usually do the revolving style of sushi but because of covid they have transformed into an all you can eat establishment. We had their sashimi, Pepperfin, Korean tacos, wings, popcorn chicken and lots of different sushi rolls. Honestly, not one of the sushi rolls stood out to us. They were okay and seemed like I could find them elsewhere. The Korean tacos were a huge left down. I was hoping for an Asian taco but they basically put the Korean short ribs inside of your basic taco...corn tortilla, spicy mayo sauce and lettuce. It was an odd fusion. I will say the meat was marinated nicely though. It was tasty. My favorite thing was their popcorn chicken. That dish saved it for me. The chicken was crispy and the sauce that was poured over was delicious. The service was absolutely poor. They forgot several dishes at one point then when we did get it, it was sent to us in doubles or triples...I don't know if they just forgot or were backed up.
