    2. Chicken Teriyaki - Box
    Lilia J.

The food was hot of the grill and freshly made and so appetizing. Our 2nd time back and it lived up to our expectations. The bento box with Salmon & Short Korean ribs was so amazing and delicious. I have to say worth the extra price over the teriyaki chicken bento box. The mussels were so delicious and full of flavor, definitely a mandatory dish every visit. Overall the food was amazing. The portions were great. The staff is always friendly and welcoming on both visits. The ambiance is rather calm and quiet during lunch hours. May need to switch it up and do a night visit. If you are looking for some good food with options and all you can eat if you dare, definitely come check out this hidden gem in fair oaks.

Amazing sushi, literally so fresh & the nigiri melts in your mouth . Not only is the revolving sushi in experience the chefs and hospitality is great.

Bento Box was tasty, but I will say don't go two hours within close because the revolving food becomes scarce. Maybe that's actually a good thing, so it lessens wasted food. The food itself was delicious and the staff was kind and fairly quick. The ambiance was okay. It's not mikunis level, but it's fair. Overall, a good place to stop by and try new rolls without commitment. The chicken was fantastic. The Philly roll tasted super good.

    F65 Roll was amazing.

The food is always on point and fresh. And has beautiful presentation. The service is always good and easy you can order on the tablet and place the order. And getting items from the revolving bar is definitely fun.

Ordered my usual Lucky Roll and Floodout Roll but received a Burnout roll which I could not eat because I cannot eat tempura shrimp. Ordered takeout today so this was a very unpleasant surprise!

This is a review from our dinner visit on 1/26/23 for a Special occasion. Some of us wanted to try Korean and others wanted to try Sushi...this restaurant was a perfect fusion of Korean and Japanese for our needs. I ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap which was delicious. All the sushi rolls were tasty as well. The peach flavored soju is a must try! We visited this restaurant again on another occasion and ordered similar dishes. Overall service was good, food is great, prices are a bit on the higher side. If I return, I would try the bento boxes.

Even at $38 and with some restrictions, the AYCE option was worth it. So many variety of rolls on the conveyer belt. They kept putting them out to keep the belt 75% full. You can also order certain items on the menu. Come hungry!

We visited the restaurant couple months ago on the weekend and the belt started at noon. However, the sushi belt is now on for dinner only. The service was friendly and good. - california sushi: good - my kid liked it & devoured it. The filling (imitation crab) & avocado were lots and the rice layer was in good portion. - popcorn chicken bento: the chicken pieces were crispy, juicy & flavorful. The portion was quite generous. The salad was just ok.

    So many plates of Sushi!

Casual spot that's great for families. Our 4 year old loves this place. Sometimes service at the table can be a little slow for getting drink refills and your bill. Food typically comes out pretty fast. We like to come here when the revolving conveyor belt is running to try different rolls. I think it only runs in the evenings now unfortunately. Quality is pretty good. Some favorites are Spicy Dragon, King Kong, Fujiyama, Lucky, Ninja, Dynamite, Snow storm, Godfather, Sasa, and Cherry blossom. If you don't like fish get the Spicy Korean Chicken. It is so good!

Fast service. Food was very good. Fresh and savory. The moving belt with all the sushi rolls was exciting and so good. We also ordered a bento box with two items. Good serving size. Definitely will be back again to have more fun.

Great spot to grab good sushi quickly! Parking is great it is shared with the grocery store and the other quick service restaurants. We were seated immediately and there was not sushi revolving at the time we went (weekday 3pm). The sushi was good I would not say the best I have ever had but worth the price. They even accommodated my tuna instead of salmon request on one the rolls. The service was excellent our waitress was very attentive and got us refills before we even asked! The ambiance was decent some things could have been put away better or less cluttered with the stock and drink items. Overall I would definitely go back! Coke products plus size friendly quick and attentive service

However, my recent visit was ruined by an incredibly disappointing server experience. My husband, child, and I dined there today. While it was a bit busy, it wasn't overwhelmingly so. Unlike the fantastic service I've received from other servers in the past, this server was truly awful. She seemed to actively avoid our table, and when she did interact with us, it was dismissive and rude. She brought our waters & my three-year-old daughter a glass cup instead of a plastic one, and when I requested a plastic cup, she slammed it on the table without a word. She completely ignored our "thank yous," even when my daughter politely thanked her. However, she was sweet and attentive to other tables in her section. We had to ask another server for water refills and kids' chopsticks because our server was nowhere to be found and never checked on us or our meal to ask if it was good or if we even need anything. NOTHING. I'm usually a generous tipper, often leaving over $20, but this server did not earn a cent from me. Lastly, she sent me to pay next to the bar while other people had their checks at the table. So much more happened but these were the main points that irritable me the Most. While I'll definitely be back for the incredible food, if I encounter this particular server again, I will absolutely be requesting a different one. Her attitude was unforgettable, and it completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable family meal on a Saturday night.

Daniel and Rebecca have consistently been friendly, attentive, and welcoming, even when we are not seated in their sections. On separate occasions, both have shown genuine compassion, care, and a strong sense of community. Tonight, she remembered us and was genuinely happy to hear that prayers had been answered. Daniel also noticed when we needed a little extra attention and stepped in right away. I would have never thought a Japanese restaurant was here. The inside was another story! The inside is decorated with all kinds of Japanese pictures and decor. You definitely felt like you were in a Japanese restaurant. The menu was impressive! Everything had pictures which is so amazing! It was just easier having an idea of what to pick based on looking at the pictures. There were all kinds of sushi rolls, bento boxes, noodles, appetizers and plates. We decided to get the ramen, salmon katsu, and tempura bowl. Food came our really quick. Portions were good and everything we tasted wonderful. It definitely satisfied our craving. The tempura was crispy. The ramen broth was rich and noodles nice and chewy. The bento box came with gyoza, salad, tempura, oranges, miso soup and rice. Service was great. They were attentive, and friendly. Eating with our littles ones is never easy and we appreciated how patient they were with us. We loved the food and hope to come back and try their sushi next!

This is exactly what I had experienced when I paid a visit to "Akira Sushi" Located directly on Greenback Lane and adjacent to Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights, this place opened its doors for business back in mid-2024. Since then, they have seen a very respectable amount of positive reviews. As I had previously mentioned, the exterior isn't much to look at as this is a fairly dated strip mall that hasn't received any updates in decades. And to those that remember, this is the same building that "Pho 54" occupied from 2013-2023. During my visit which was the afternoon of Sunday 8/3/2025 at around 5:15pm, I parked directly outside as there were no other cars here. Upon entry, there was one other customer finishing dinner. After being greeted and seated, I was given a menu complete with a cold glass of iced water. I will say that the interior of this place is quite impressive, cozy, and inviting. The distressed wooden tables paired up with the tan-colored walls and unique murals add an upscale look to the overall interior. On a packed evening, this place can comfortably seat around 50 guests. I will say that their menu is fully loaded with pure deliciousness. They offer a huge variety of traditional sushi rolls, custom rolls, Bento boxes, seafood tacos (available in tuna or salmon), Poke bowls, and even ramen for the colder days/evenings. And even a nice variety of beverages including soda, beer, wine, and sake. Since I was dining solo, I decided on the "Sunomomo Salad" which was a cucumber salad w/Ponzu sauce and Bonito flakes. My main dish was their "Napa Valley" roll which uses shrimp tempura, cucumbers, avocado, spicy aioli, unagi sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. My salad was brought out in less than 3 minutes while my sushi arrived just a few minutes later. I will say that everything was very fresh and delicious. The avocado had perfect consistency while the shrimp was made to perfection. In my humble opinion, this was an absolute gem of a roll. All in all, "Akira Sushi" is about as good as it gets for quality sushi in Citrus Heights. They have very respectable hours of operation being open 6 days a week; Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30am-2:30pm / 4:00-8:30pm with extended hours on Fri/Sat while being closed for business on Monday. Service was great as the young lady that waited on me was polite, courteous, and respectful. With a great atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices, I am giving Akira Sushi a unanimous five-star rating.

First hour is happy hour $2 off drinks and $10 off food. I'd say this place is perfect for drinks and apps. There isn't a big variety for entree's. But those appetizers were the show! Between the awkward service and 1.5+ hour wait for food, this celebration didn't go the way we'd hoped. We had a 6:30 reservation for a party of 7 to celebrate my engagement with family visiting from out of town. We placed our order right away but didn't receive our food until after 8pm. To make matters worse, one plate was missing entirely, and that guest had to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to arrive. The server was apologetic about the wait and offered to comp our desserts as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated. When the final plate arrived, we were quietly discussing the $3 avocado upcharge among ourselves, since the tacos came with barely a sliver of avocado. The server apparently overheard us, because she returned moments later, silently set down a small plate with extra avocado next to our food, and walked away without a word. The gesture felt pointed rather than helpful, and it left the table feeling uneasy. The food and drinks themselves were decent. But by 8:45, we didn't want to wait even longer for the comped desserts, so I asked if we could have our drinks comped instead, since a couple of the cocktails were priced similarly to the desserts (which ran up to $16). The server seemed uncomfortable and said she could only comp two desserts, offering 10% off the bill instead. This wasn't what had been discussed earlier, but at that point we just wanted to wrap up the night, especially since my parents had a long drive ahead. Given the service, we'd quietly decided as a table not to leave an additional tip, only to find a 20% automatic service charge already added for large parties. This came as a surprise since it wasn't disclosed anywhere on the menu. It's a shame, because it's genuinely a charming space. Unfortunately, the service that night fell short, and it really affected what should have been a special evening.

The chicken katsu is still one of the best I've had--light, crispy, and perfectly crunchy on the outside, with juicy, tender chicken inside. Every visit has been consistently delicious, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I also tried the spicy pork again. It's a bit different from the Korean spicy pork I'm used to. Instead of the pork being marinated so the flavor is deeply infused, it seems to be grilled first and then coated with the sauce. While it's not the traditional style I expected, it's still flavorful and worth trying if you're open to a different take on the dish. In addition the chicken gangjeong dish that requires it to be "deep fried chicken" needs additional time to get crunchy like you would expect. I think the sauce may have made the crunch disappear. The consistency in both the food and the service is what keeps bringing me back. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu.
