After watching the long awaited The Devil Wears Prada 2, we wanted a place where we could sit, linger, and chat. Korean BBQ felt like the perfect fit, and Beque Korean Grill turned out to be a solid choice. We came in with a plan and ordered everything in half portions so we could try more variety without overdoing it too quickly. Our lineup included beef bulgogi, spicy chicken, pork belly, beef belly, brisket, and the cheese corn dip. At $36 per person, I am not sure we fully maximized the value, but that was not really the point. We wanted variety and a place where we could relax and have a nice chat. Overall, everything was really good. The bulgogi was flavorful with a slight sweetness, the spicy chicken had a nice kick without being overwhelming, and the pork belly crisped up beautifully on the grill. The brisket and beef belly were great for quick grilling, and the cheese corn dip added another layer of flavor to the well seasoned meats. I appreciated that they allow half orders, which made it easy to pace ourselves and sample more dishes. Service was very efficient, the food came out steadily, and they changed the grill frequently to keep the smokiness under control. By the end, we were completely stuffed. We ended up walking around the mall a few times afterward just to recover. It may not be the most upscale Korean BBQ spot, but for variety, value, and a relaxed group dining experience, it definitely delivers.

Came here with a large party around dinner time for a going away party for a coworker. At the time of me making this review the dinner is $35.99 a person. Overall, I'd give this spot a 3.5-4 out of 5. The meats were decent but it didn't particularly blow me away. But the service here is okay and the price is pretty reasonable compared to other places. Anyways... try it out if you like. :)

    Amazing food 10/10

I went at 2:29 and just missed the lunch deal which was a bummer! The food was honestly okay but they give you very good portions which get you. You can get half the portion of meat which is nice. The marinated pork and beef was our fav. The server was very nice and changed our grill very often. There are plenty of seats dispose it being a friday

I hadn't tried this place previously because of the low reviews but i was pleasantly surprised. Pretty reasonable prices for 2 hr all you can eat and the sauces were nice. The service was super fast and friendly. It wasn't too smoky and they had some tvs playing K-pop songs.

the vibe in here is chill, theres a lot of seating but be ready to come out smeelllliiinnn like meat bc they dont have the best ventilation. i always come at night and go home right after so i dont mind hehe. service is good, super kind and they're very attentive of when you need a grill swap. the price is lower than other kbbq's i've been to!! and the meat is good! the spicy versions of the bulqogi and brisket are soo yummy they make the meat more flavored/soft. def coming backkk :3

Contrary to what most reviews were saying, the service was pretty good. The servers changed our grill about 2-3x without us having to ask and they checked on us a couple of times. The price for dinner was about 30$ per person and I thought that was a bit pricey for the small selection of AYCE. I was kinda bummed that the soup and steamed egg were only add-ons so they were an extra charge. The pork belly was very fatty and had little meat. The brisket was cut in very big slices, which I liked, and the bulgogi was chopped into smaller pieces and marinated well. I really loved the fact that they offer a cheese fondue dip because I haven't been to another kbbq place with that option.

Came here with my husband on a recent Monday evening. We were seated right away. There were several tables with customers but it wasn't at all crowded. There are a lot of screens situated around the restaurant playing k-pop videos for a fun, upbeat atmosphere. My husband and I both decided to get the "all you can eat" dinner, which I believe is $33.99 each. Our server took our order and then brought out several small dishes such as glass noodles, macaroni salad, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, etc., all of which were very tasty. With rhetorical all you can eat dinner, you can order from a list of various meats, poultry, etc. which you cook at the grill in the center of your table. We had bulgogi, shrimp, and squid. I especially liked the bulgogi. The shrimp was tasty but a little inconvenient since the shell is still on - can be a little messy when you peel off the shell. The squid was not my personal preference, due to the chewy texture, but I think that's just the way squid is and the flavor was good. The service overall was good and our server came to check on us several times and exchanged the grill cover a few times as well to prevent any leftover bits from causing things to get smoky. My husband did have to ask for his drink a second time before he got it, but apart from that, no complaints. Looking forward to our next visit!

Went here for AYCE for $32 per person on a Saturday late afternoon and it was okay. I was disappointed with the meat quality of the brisket... it is normally my favorite but it way too tough and too chewy. I could not eat it. But the pork belly made up for it because it was thin and I was able to cook it fast and make it crispy. I liked dipping the pork belly in the cheese corn and brisket sauce. The service was nice and friendly. We were able to flag them down for extra sauce, condiments and water refills. It's a good space overall but there are probably other venues with better meat quality.

We frequent here a lot because it's Japantown's hidden secret. Everyone tends to go to Yakiniq and there's usually a long wait there, so you go to Beque where there barely is a wait and the overall experience is better. The workers here are amazing and the owner is so sweet! We go here often and they always remember us. They're super speedy and rarely ever makes mistakes with our orders. They always check-in, so I don't have to call them over. The meat is decent. It gets the job done. Their portions are a lot, which I appreciate because I don't need to bother them to order more. Reasonably priced and they have good meat options. They don't have galbi tho, but have an alternative. I highly recommend this spot if you're craving KBBQ and need to be satisfied!

Ask the Community - Beque BBQ Grill

    Can I make a reservation?

I don't think they take reservations

Is this place still all you can eat?

    Yes!

I have a peanut / nut allergy. Are there anything with peanuts / nuts? Does the restaurant do a good job about cross contamination?

They have some sauces for dipping that have peanuts in them. You should ask to be sure, but from my experience you might not get a correct answer.

The price per person is paid for every round or is it just the person and all you can eat after and not being charged per round?

You pay after, I suggest that you finish what you got first and ask yourself if you are really gonna order more food because there is a fee if you do not finish most of your protein. Which is understandable.

    Do they accept cash?

    Yes they do.

Can one person order all you can eat option $18.95 that one ? What's the time limit?

No. There's a two persons minimum. Time limit is set at 2 hours.

Do we have to reserve a table?

I just went a few days ago and walked in. The wait was about 20 minutes.

If going there solo (just one person), is it possible to still eat there and order something that is not part of the All You Can Eat, such as Kimchi fried rice, soup, appetizers, etc.?

Yes, they have a menu for individual dishes. Go on their website and scroll down. They have lunch specials as well as individual platters (with prices).

For Dine-In are we able to cook our own meat or will the servers do it for us?

You will cook yourself, tables are separated apart with at least one table apart, if you go early you practically have the place to yourself.

Hi, What is the portion size for the garlic pork belly (cooked) if I wanted to order it for delivery?

Bento should serve one person Dinner size should swerve two people

Is there a time limit for the all you can eat for a party of 4?

    Yes 2 hour

Can I order just the tofu soup to go without eating at the restaurant?

Yes you can, you can take soups, appetizers, and bibimbaps for to go.

Do you have options for vegetarians? If so what are they?

Hi Wendy, Thank you for reaching out! We have a variety of vegetarian options, including bibimbap… Read more

Once you step through the doors, however, you're greeted by a space that feels both cozy and contemporary, with an effortlessly stylish atmosphere. Even the restroom was thoughtfully designed and remarkably comfortable--a small detail, but one that speaks to the restaurant's overall attention to detail. We began with the Uni Scallop Toast and Mulhwe as appetizers. As someone who is typically not a fan of uni due to its pronounced brininess, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed the toast. The bright citrus sauce balanced the richness of the uni beautifully, while the contrasting textures from the crisp toast and delicate scallop created a harmonious bite. The scallop also helped mellow the stronger oceanic notes of the uni. It was a creative and memorable dish unlike anything I've had before. The Mulhwe, a Korean-style fish salad, was dressed in a refreshing apple vinaigrette that gave it a light, summery citrus character. The fish itself had a pleasantly chewy texture--firmer than salmon--with no trace of fishiness. While enjoyable, it didn't leave quite the same impression as the uni toast and was my least favorite dish of the evening. For our entrées, we ordered the Galbi Steak and Pork Jowl Bossam. Both dishes showcased exceptional execution. The meats were cooked perfectly, but what stood out even more was the precision in preparation. The steak was expertly sliced and incredibly tender--so much so that even with braces, it was effortless to enjoy. The pork jowl achieved an ideal balance between lean meat and luscious fat, creating a rich yet satisfying bite. We enjoyed the meal so much that dessert was non-negotiable. The Matcha Tiramisu was a creative interpretation of the classic. A dome of mascarpone cheese encased ladyfinger biscuits at its center, accompanied by a vibrant matcha ganache sauce. The dessert leaned far less sweet than traditional tiramisu, allowing the earthy matcha and creamy mascarpone flavors to shine. It was elegant, balanced, and a wonderful way to end the meal. Lastly, the service was outstanding. Our server was soft-spoken, patient, and genuinely attentive throughout the evening, making the experience feel warm and welcoming. Considering the quality of the food, thoughtful presentation, ambiance, and service, I found the pricing to be completely justified. As a pleasant surprise, I later learned that Bansang is part of the same restaurant group behind Daeho--a detail that certainly explains the level of quality we experienced.

The salad was refreshing and had a nice little crunch to it. For our mains, we had the Pork Jowl Bossam and the Prime Finger Ribs with Rice Cake. It melted right off the bone, and it had a little heat. I want to go back for this alone. Also enjoyed a dish of kimchi fried rice and sotteok sotteok with a happy hour priced soju.

Super crispy and flavorful. - Bossam: was alright. About 5 pieces. Came with sauce, but could have used more marination and flavor. Also wish there was a lettuce to wrap with. - Pork bangbang: this was tender and super flavorful. - Stairway to heaven: this was a nice surprise. The sushi was presented in a really cool way and the quality was really good. - Fresh lemon soju: I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it looked like lemon slices in soju. But it was really good and I appreciated the freshness of the lemon. Overall, it was a great place for a GNO.

I first started eating at this place around 1990 and have at times stopped going once I moved out of the city. I try to go at least once a year. Have always enjoyed their clams, dried fried chicken, jia jiang mian, and seafood noodle soup. Clams were still plentiful, plump, and very fresh. Noodle were still good. The owner recommended I try the Jjamppong and tubot. The jjamppong like their other noodles were good but the standout was the turbot: steamed to perfection, fresh, and tasty. I can't compare it to other fish but it was soft, smooth, and buttery. I have seen the owner before cooking in the kitchen but it looks now father time has caught up and he is thoroughly enjoying helping out in the front. He was talkative and pleasant to talk to.

So I found this place and we walked in with few customers. We ordered a soup, and were about to order something else when the server/cook suggested we order the meal for 3. He let us substitute the white rice for fried rice and cashew chicken for lemon chicken that we wanted. Boy was it a real treat. We added a chicken chow mein and we weren't disappointed. All in all, we came out stuffed with leftovers, and great service to boot. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time which was surprising, how great the food and service were. Come here and you won't regret it!

The wait for the dish was almost 25 mins but all worth it !The complimentary soup and banchan were huge and alright. The servers know what they were doing but one minor thing about my experience was that the waitress served a really really hot dish at her convenience and I had to move it to the center for sharing. Since they're busy they expect you to finish your meal, pay and go.

This is my wife's favorite SF Korean restaurant, so I am glad that she was able to join me on this trip. Actually, my guest was the one that requested Korean today. LOL. Today, my guest ordered the following: Soft Tofu Soup - Complimentary. Now this has the most flavor of all the dishes. It also came out piping hot, see picture. Seafood Pancake - Overall good, I appreciate the precut slices, thanks. Makes eating and dividing easier. Marinated Chicken - Decent portions, tender, etc. But with minimum flavor. Broiled Fish, Broiled Mackerel - My guest loves fish, but she did not eat too much of this. So more food to bring back to the house for her. Stir-Fried Vermicelli - Good, but you can almost not mess this up. Actually, I make a pretty good Japchae. :) Banchan - 9 options; good variety and with decent to generous portions. Actually, all the dishes came out steaming, piping hot, and fresh. If you do not like spicy food, this is the place for you. Most, if not all, dishes including the banchan are not spicy. Atmosphere - Good size local restaurant. Table or booth seating. Private room in the back available. Hibachi style dining available. 2 clean bathrooms. See picture. Open 5 days a week from 11am to 8pm or 9pm, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Street parking, it was not too bad. I got a space a few blocks away. Service - 3 stars. The owner is typically friendly but did not greet us today?!?! One waitress was extremely more professional than the other. I think the other waitress was in a bad mood?!?! It was not easy asking for stuff, tea refills, water, utensils, more banchan, etc. Price - $120 + tip. Reasonably priced for Korean food, especially because my guest will get another meal out of it from all our leftovers. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since...??? I have been coming here for 20+ years. Maybe 30+ years...? Or am I outdating myself...

Been here a couple of times already and the service never failed. Even came here during the Cherry Blossom Festival and the staff were still friendly / accommodating. They even put a spicy sauce on the side of one of the katsu plates when we mentioned that my dad couldn't handle all that haha. This cozy spot mainly focuses on katsu plates, but I like how they had off menu or specials to choose from if you'd like another option. I will say though them katsu plates were just chef's kiss. The meat is pounded thin enough where it's still juicy and tender, but doesn't affect the exterior from being crunchy and a bit flaky. Nothing was dry here yallll! I also like how it already comes with miso soup and salad. Huge fan of that Hamachi Truffle special though. Think of a citrusy flavor from the ponzu, fresh fish, a bit of micro greens, and a thin slice of jalapeño that just ~works~ on a cute wooden spoon that you want to steal I could honestly eat like 5 spoons of this. I'd skip on the calamari as it was kind of skimpy to share with a large group. Only note was that their fried katsu curry was a bit underwhelming with having more slices of carrots than potato! Would love to come back if I am ever in the area.

The army stew was not too salty and warmed us up! The soy garlic chicken was not overly sweet and was crispy too. The spicy pork was good but there were a few pieces that was chewy. It wasn't that spicy though but it still tasted good. The creamy pasta and tteok was good too and lived up to its name. We stepped inside to put our names on the list. While we waited outside we checked out their menu, which was conveniently displayed on their window. The dishes sounded great and it helped us decide what to order before we were even seated. The restaurant was on the smaller side, so seating was a tad cramped, but overall it felt cozy. They had a cute neon light with their name. We got a couple appetizers, which included the pan fried dumplings and tteokbokki. I ordered the Spicy Japchae for my main dish. They brought the banchan out pretty quickly, which we all devoured in seconds because we were so hungry. Then our main dishes started coming out of the kitchen. My spicy japchae was just the right amount of heat. Spicy enough to still be enjoyable. While eating our main dishes the pan fried dumplings came out, which was odd since we ordered it as an appetizer. And the tteokbokki we had ordered, never was added to our order by our waiter. After being told that by another waiter, we just decided to cancel it. The meal was pretty filling without feeling too heavy. Overall, it was decent.
