Super yummy and very cute patio. Parking was easy and they have valet. I'd definitely recommend and come back.

I am in love with this place ! The FOOD is excellent. The kabobs tasted like my beloved dad's home cooked secret recipe grilled on charcoal. The ghormeh sabzi tasted just like the way my grandmother used to make it in Tehran. This is not just another Persian restaurant this is an experience that will not disappoint ! Also the ambiance is sooooo romantic and beautiful. Service was great and I love the lion and sun logo which commemorates the Persian empire. The only thing that can be improved are the portions for the appetizers. It was tooooooo small ! There was hardly much on the plates.

The vibe here is awesome. Loved the outdoor patio and the decor inside with shahnameh on the walls and shir o khorshid as their branding . The truffle olovieh is SO GOOD. Why have I never thought of that combination before?! The kabob and rice is super tasty. Honestly, the portions are smaller but much tastier than your average Persian restaurant. I still felt the need to take a nap after though. It's the law of kabob. Must.take.nap. The adult cocktail menu is fire. I need to go back and try the adult doogh which I didn't get to last time. Definitely will be back!

Beautiful space, very underwhelming food and service. We sat outside on a Friday evening, it was nearly 80 outside but they had the heat lamps on still which was a bit uncomfortable. We had to request they turn some off. One thing noticeable off the bat was how not-busy they were for a Friday. They are definitely playing games with reservation availability to make it appear they are in higher demand than they are. I barely was able to secure a 6pm rez, and trust me there was plenty of availability. We ordered multiple drinks and a bunch of food items to share and unfortunately, nothing stood out at all. Food was incredibly basic & lackluster yet of course, overpriced. The bbq prawns had good flavor but were near impossible to eat (butterflied but shell on) as the shells weren't even loosened for the diner. We spent like 10 mins trying to get the shrimp off the shell and gave up on the last one. That much work to eat near $50 shrimp is ridiculous. Corn was overcooked. Both dips were had weren't great, we didn't finish them. Service was almost nonexistent, male server was nice the 2x we saw him but just inexcusable service at this price point. Again, cool ambiance but not somewhere I'd come back to.

Berenjak opened in September 2025 and wow..I was really impressed. The location itself is kind of random and there's not much around it, but they do have valet parking ($27). Once you walk in though, you completely forget where you are. The outdoor seating/lounge area is what really sold me. It feels like you're sitting in a garden surrounded by trees with dim, cozy lighting. Honestly, I'd go back just to sit there and have tea. There's also an indoor space with another bar, but I'd definitely recommend sitting outside if you can. Food-wise, everything we ordered was delicious. The black truffle Olivieh was so good and the truffle wasn't overpowering. The mast o musir and kashk e bademjoon were both excellent, and the warm taftoon bread that came out with the sides made everything even better. I ordered a margarita which was great, and our waiter was very kind and brought me a sample of the grown-up doogh after I asked about it..very unique, pretty good, just a bit strong. For mains, we had the koobideh kebab, which was super juicy and flavorful, and the gheymeh bademjoon (vegan), which came with house rice, shirazi salad, torshi, and a side of zereshk..all delicious and well balanced. Honestly, bravo. The ambiance, food, and service were all great. I'll 100% be back, especially to come back for dessert and tea.

In the under belly of the Urban Crush, exists an oasis of glamour and panache. It's The Garden of Allah. Inside the rehabilitated vintage brick building are beautiful gardens and interior dining rooms. Lavish appointments create the opulent elegant decor. Muted tones, soft lighting accenting the curated art on the walls. It is gorgeous from Persian Kilim Rugs to vaulted ceiling. It harkens back to the halcyon days pre-revolution when Teheran was at the vortex of culture and eloquence. It was the Paris instead of the pariah of the Middle East. Berenjak channels better times). Bench seats have supporting pillows and everything whispers romance (until you move the burning candle to gaze at your date and pour hot wax on the back of your hand). A Persian music loop permeates the room. It is an acquired skill but eventually it slips into the background aided by alcohol and the din of diners dining. Wrestle with the Sevenrooms reservation platform (the reserve a Table torture chamber). Perseverance will reward the resolute with a coveted reservation. The Staff: An Army of staffers meet, greet and seat you with a genuine smile as warm as Mint Tea. You will be seated when you arrive. No shunting you into the Bar and schorring a watered down pricey cocktail out of you. Benny came to me table, introduced himself and proceeded to orchestrate a feast. No to this, "It's too much food" to yes to that "It's a dish you must order, even if you're full". He explained that the menu was traditional, but with a twist. Brother Benny knew everything about the menu. He understood the ingredients, how the dish was prepared and what the kitchen added/subtracted to tweak thousands of years of long perfected age old recipes. Benny had immediate access to the legion of line cooks to make sure you were served exactly what he described. Who goes there? Most of Tehangeles. Fickle foodies who've eaten enough Lamb Neck Schwarma at Bavel to last a life time. The Bar: Impressive. Lots of premium everything from Craft Beer to Persian libations and signature Cocktails. I had a Grape Sour with Pisco (talk about cross pollination), SAG Amargh (Persian Vodka made from Raisins), Blueberries, Citrus, and Red Port with a delicate lace of Egg White on top. It had a tart start and sweet treat on the finish. Just right with Appetizers and to take the edge off the almost 2 hour slog on the 5 Fwy. The Food: Glorious, and wonderful from gullet to gizzard. Persian Cuisine can be sophisticated and complex in capable hands. Many Persian dishes have been around for eons. Berenjak has mastered the best versions of the Persian culinary repertoire. The paucity of elegant upscale Persian restaurants usually dictates that the menu is confined to store bought Pita stuffed with chewy dry Kebab. Here, everything is made with passion so that you'd think Runi was the Executive Chef. Taftoon was delicious. A Sour Dough Flatbread dome suitable for doing anything you can think of doing with a warm bread dome the size of a Volley Ball. Kashk Bademjoon was Coal cooked Eggplant mashed to a pulp and then mixed with Whey, Dried Mint and Crispy Onions. Double Yum. Taftoon at the ready, start scooping. The Hummus was re-imagined and beyond the imagination. Black Chickpeas, Sunflower "Tahini" and Somagh (Sumac) it was the color of Nutella with a slow delightful distant twing of heat and spice that gently lingered. My Jujeh Kebab Tond was a row of char grilled young Chicken marinated in Chile, Garlic, Somagh and Red Pepper Paste as long as your forearm. It was absolutely tender, juicy and oh so chickeny. It's a good thing you kept a little Taftoon to make a wrap. This was so magisterial it will change the way you think about Chicken assuming you weren't to chicken to think about Chicken. It's been several days and I'm still thinkin' about that Chicken. The Koobedeh was also an oval platter log of ample bites of grilled Ground Lamb. It was spiced with some measure of restraint and yet retained the essence of the dry rub. The Koob was perfectly grilled and elevated what is usually party food on a stick to something you'd live and love to eat. The meat was soft, light, fluffy and absent that tight dense Meatloaf chew. Torsh was a cup of Pickled Cauliflower and "friends" that should be mixed with everything else you ordered. And, do not, not order the Saffron Rice with Zeresh (dried, chopped, crisp, Barberries). All of the above travels well so over order as it will surely enhance breakfast. Benny returned and whispered "Please have the White Chocolate Date Cookies". I thought a cookie was a cookie. Wrong, these were warm from the oven and the Date bits mingled perfectly with the White Chocolate. These Cookies were as soft and rich as the ideal third Wife. Me personally? I will track back to Berenjak as soon Sevenrooms allows it. Insha Allah.

Berenjak is special and it's pretty hard to find a table so plan ahead if you want to eat here I liked the history of this restaurant and how it originated in London The location is in a sketchy part of town near skid row. It's not the most pleasant area but once you're inside you can breathe a little easier The outside is very nice but the tables are small The inside is a little dark but feels warm and cozy The servers are really nice. We stayed a little long and our server was kind enough to let us hang out a little longer while a few of my friends ordered extra food to take home Vegetarian options are available. The entree available is an eggplant one and it was very tasty. The food is really well seasoned A small side dish of mashed chili helped make the flavors pop Some other good side dishes included the shirazi salad and kashke bademjan The breads were delicious. We all tried both Parking may not be too safe out here so it's best to valet or uber out here My friends loved their kebabs. One of my friends who is from Iran even said the kebab was just like it is in Tehran We were celebrating a school friends birthday and it was a special experience. If you have a special event coming up then consider Berenjak as an option. You won't regret it

I think the food could be a little better for the price but this place has enough redeeming factors to deserve 5 stars. I was expecting this to be one of those LA "instagrammable" restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised. Service: Flawless. Our server was kind, attentive, prompt, checked on us gracefully quite a few times, and explained the menu well to us. Ambiance: Beautifully done. Dim. Located in the garden area of Soho Warehouse. Snagged an interior table but the outside garden tables looked gorgeous. The place is full of real wax pillar candles that must be a pain to deal with but really made the place feel transportive, along with the deep cushions. Perfect for a date. Loved the giant glass windows and automatic glass sliding door that led to the kitchen. One thing about new LA restaurants is that sometimes when they're new and busy they are too loud to be enjoyable. This was not loud or crowded, but that might have been due to a late 9PM reservation? It was a Friday though. Food: Drinks were perfectly balanced. Ordered the watermelon shumpine + salted plum & marigold marg. Only wish they would have lasted longer. -Hummus: very rich and creamy but honestly didn't taste like much. All I could taste was the crispy fried onion on top -Shirazi salad: could have skipped this, kind of flavorless and unmemorable as well even when I added more of the seasoning the server provided. -Beef kebab: Really cooked perfectly, so tender, but also a little bland. Felt it could have been bigger or been more flavorful for a $42 entree. -Dessert: surprisingly the star of the show. The white chocolate and date cookies were perfectly baked and warm. Get them to have with the cardamom ice cream. I left happy because of this. Overall I wasn't super impressed by the food but loved the experience enough to come back and try other dishes to be proven wrong!

Berenjak was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our server was so enthusiastic about explaining the menu and giving recommendations. The whole space is very pretty, the outdoor patio being slightly more cozy than inside in my opinion. We chose the Jasmine and Mandarin Hi Ball and the Grown up Doogh - both were interestingly subtle yet strong, and there wasn't a single ingredient overpowering the others - definitely couldn't decide which was better as both were equally delicious. My only gripe is the presentation of the drinks but that's ok. The food was phenomenal - here's what we got and I would 10/10 recommend everything: - Jujeh Kebab: juicy, moist, melt in your mouth deliciousness. The flavor wasn't superficial but rather throughout the meat. - Saffron rice: you have to order this as I guarantee it will go with everything or by itself. Do not forget to add the Zereshk (dried berries that are sweet and tart) because it takes the rice to another level. - Taftoon: oven baked fluffy sourdough and sessme flatbread - paired so well with the Mirza Ghasemi (smoked eggplant dip) and Mast O Musir (yogurt based dip). - House sauce: Spicy, tangy and goes with anything and everything! My biggest disappointment was their dessert menu - as a persian restaurant they could have done so much better but chose to have 3 basic items: Persian Tea Ice Cream, a Saffron and Cardamom flan and Date/White chocolate cookies - out of which the persian ice cream, the only thing we liked, wasn't available the day we went. And what are cookies doing on a fine dining Persian restaurant's menu any way?

This place was sooo yummy!!! The food all was seasoned perfectly. I loved the hummus and the eggplant dip. The bread is also very tasty and light. Chicken kebab and rice are a MUST order, so so tender and juicy! Service is quick and also very knowledgeable about the whole menu. Cute outside dining with heaters and trees! Street parking in back or $25 valet

This place is a vibe! Definitely a great date night dinner. When you first walk in you are immediately transported to a world outside of the concrete jungle we live in. The bar is to the right, to the left, you will meander through a grove of olive trees and small intimate tables. The inside seating is dark and seductive. Our waiter, Benny was great, he made suggestions and was very patient with us first timers. We came as a party of four, ready to eat. Here are all the starters, mains and desserts that we shared: TAFTOON - Wood oven-baked sourdough and sesame seeded flatbread - super soft, super hot and steamy gigantic pillow of bread. ZEYTOON - Souria olives, lemon - and garlic - I was missing the sweetness of pomegranate molasses in this version. MAST O MUSIR - Strained yoghurt, Goats curd, Persian shallots and olive oil - This has a really nice salty sourness to it, went well with the taftoon and kashk e bademjoon KASHK E BADEMJOON - Coal cooked eggplant, whey, dried mint and onions - this was a very delicate preparation, it had a good smokiness. HOUSE RICE - Saffron rice, salted butter, crispy rice. Add zereshk (+$7) - the crispy rice puffs instead of tahdig slabs was surprising. It definitely made the dish more sophisticated as you weren't trying to shove large pieces of tahdig into your mouth. GHORMEH SABZI - Lamb stew with kidney beans, dried lime and mixed herbs - I am the only person in the world that does not live this dish. I know. My friends thoroughly enjoyed it though. KOOBIDEH KABAB - Minced lamb shoulder, onions and black pepper - this was very juicy and flavorful but I will say that the texture was a little too gummy for me. JUJEH KABAB TOND - Poussin marinated in chilli, garlic, somagh and red pepper paste - not as spicy as the description makes it sound. Small bites of bone in chicken with good flavor. TIKKEH MASTI KABAB * - Beef fillet, garlic, onion, yoghurt - ULTRA tender chunks of cubed beef, nice char and smokiness. Definitely would order again. MEYGOO KABAB - BBQ prawns, kashmiri chilli, roasted garlic - the prawn was butterflied, the meat was a little mushy for my liking. The sauce was bold, there was a slight kick to the chilli sauce. The kebabs came in one tray served on Sangak bread. The prawns were served separately. I forgot to take a photo or note the descriptions of the desserts. We ordered all three, one was an ice cream, another cookies and the last a crème caramel (flan) with definitive Persian flavors. This was definitely an elevated Persian experience. The menu is medium sized but hits all the typical dishes that you'd want in a Persian restaurant. The portions are on the smaller side if I'm comparing them to typical Persian restaurants but I think the experience makes up for that. There is a valet right in front for $25 or you can find parking on the street. To our surprise we found out the restaurant is connected to SOHO House.

Came here for my boyfriend's birthday and this place did not disappoint. The ambiance was so beautiful. The customer service was good and our server shared good recommendations. Food was 10/10! So flavorful and you could really taste the quality. Can't wait to be back!

Gorgeous restaurant and patio. Wonderful service. Delicious food. Interesting and innovative cocktails. A little expensive, but otherwise it's a perfect restaurant. As someone who has also been to the original London restaurant, I truly think this new LA outpost meets (if not surpasses) the quality of the original.

Since it was my first time here I asked the person working at the front ( you have to order up front where they then give you a number) some questions regarding the menu. They were supper attentive and friendly. After I ordered I sat outside to people watch which was honestly really nice. Reminded me of Paris. My food came promptly thus after. The Tumeric braised chicken is amaaazzzinggg the chicken is so juicy and falls off the bone. The rice has some sort of crunchiness to it that compliments the entire flavor profile of the dish. The eggplant dip reminded me of the one my grandmother makes, dipped with the chicken made my meal feel really nostalgic. I've been back four times since and never regret it. I'm so happy we tried this place - it's Westwood quality without having to drive all the way there. We tried their perfectly made kashkebaddmjoon, combo of chicken and beef shish kebab and chicken koobideh for my son. The food was chef's kiss. We parked in the front meter parking but there's valet available. The service was friendly - our waiter was a younger gentleman. The vibe is like a mixture of casual + fancy. Their restrooms are super duper clean - which I really appreciate as a person with ocd. Will definitely be back! Happy Nowrooz!

I visited with my family to celebrate my birthday on a Tuesday evening, and we were seated promptly, with no wait time. Friendly people, cute little space, but it was the bursting flavors that really made this celebratory dinner unforgettable. We got the beef & lamb koobideh, chicken shish kabobs, and shrimp kabobs. My jaw was already on the floor when I saw the portions--but oh my goodness, everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The shrimp were so plump that even my picky choosy mom thoroughly enjoyed them! I actually get kabob cravings quite regularly. And to think all this time, I've been ordering underwhelming deliveries from the mid places when TehranRo Grill is just a short 10-minute drive from home? Damn. I've been missing out. I'll most certainly be returning and trying all of the different options. Can't wait.

It is better than their beef koobideh and barg, though those are still good. I have had better beef koobideh at other restaurants like Raffis or Shekarchi. Their bread is so fresh and is an elevated experience compared to the usual lavash bread that restaurants give. My friends had the salmon and they really liked it. The maast o khiar is really good too. The service is excellent - all the food came out quickly and the servers were nice. I will say I am Persian (and look very obviously so) and for some reason one lady only looked at/spoke to my husband and not me. I would say it's 4.5 stars because I was put off by this. Parking is tough right next to the restaurant but can be found metered down the street if you don't want to valet. Because large parties were gathered near the entrance, we were asked to move into the bar area while we waited. (The restaurant does not take reservations for groups smaller than five.) While waiting, I noticed several tables for four sitting empty on the patio. We were told we could check our place in line via text, but the message never updated beyond "You are 11th in line and should be seated between 7:03-7:09 p.m." After several trips back to the host stand, we were eventually told it would be another 11-12 minutes. We were finally seated at 8:06 p.m.--after waiting more than an hour. I would never wait this long for food anywhere. Unfortunately, the service after being seated did not improve the experience. We had to request menus, and initially were given only two. After placing our order, two additional menus were brought. We asked for water three times before it finally arrived. Later, when our entrées were brought out, the server had removed our silverware and we had to ask for replacements. We started with the Tahdig (crispy rice) served with two stew toppings: Ghormeh Sabzi (slow-cooked beef with sautéed herbs, kidney beans, dried lime, and special seasonings) and Gheimeh Bademajan- eggplant stew. The eggplant stew was definitely the better of the two. For salads, we ordered the Beet and Feta with Persian cucumbers, lemon juice, olive oil, feta, and mint--it was just okay. We also had the Shirazi salad with chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley, onion, olive oil, and lime juice. This is a classic combination and hard to get wrong, and it did not disappoint. For entrées, we tried the whitefish (charbroiled), which my friend felt was not as good as on a previous visit, and the Shish Kabob, which one of us really enjoyed. The true standout of the night was the Juicy Chicken. It was honestly one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had--boneless chunks of incredibly tender chicken, perfectly marinated and charbroiled over an open flame. It was the redeeming quality of the meal. I would give the Juicy Chicken five stars. That said, I would never wait over an hour for it again. While the Juicy Chicken alone would have warrented 5 stars, the service and wait time knocked it down to three. Unfortunately, dining in was not a pleasant experience.

Only negative for us was feeling some pressure to upgrade the sides to our dishes (options to upgrade the salad and rice); we upgraded the rice and didn't necessarily enjoy the upgraded rice with cranberries and think the base options may have been preferable. Really enjoyed the included house salad! If you may know you have a preference for one of the upgrades it may be nice to have the options, otherwise, I would not hesitate to stick with the base which is delicious.

Honestly, I didn't even want to write this review, but after spending a couple of hours thinking…read moreabout it, I felt like I had to. To those writing all the good reviews, I genuinely have one question: have you actually had good Persian food before? Have you ever been to Raffi's? We drove all the way from Orange County because someone recommended this place. We usually just go to Raffi's, but I thought, "let's give this place a shot." Unfortunately, that was a mistake. First, I want to be clear: the staff were great, friendly and attentive. This review has nothing to do with them. It's strictly about the food. 3 Stew Tahdig ($17): The tahdig was extremely thick and hard. Even with the stew on top, it was basically inedible. Mast-o-Moosir (Shallot Yogurt): Served in a very small portion and was extremely watery. You could clearly taste raw shallots instead of a smooth blend. This dish should be made with thick yogurt (mast-e chekideh), not something runny. Main Courses: * Soltani ($39) * Naderi Soltani ($42) Honestly, we couldn't even tell the difference between the two, they seemed identical. We asked for well-done, but everything came medium or even undercooked. The barg kebab (filet mignon) was the worst part, it was tough, rubbery, and almost impossible to cut. It genuinely felt like chewing plastic. Not sure what kind of meat was used, but it definitely wasn't good quality. Salad Issue: The server asked which salad we wanted and mentioned Shirazi, Greek, etc. I chose Greek. When the bill came, we were charged an extra $2 for it, which was never mentioned. That should have been clearly communicated. Also, the bowl the salad was served in was chipped and broken in multiple spots--not a great presentation at all. Rice: The rice was poorly cooked and had barely any saffron (maybe 5% at most). Even another table nearby complained about the rice. Drink - Sekanjebin ($10): This is supposed to be a traditional Persian drink, but this tasted like a mix of cheap syrup. It did not resemble authentic sekanjebin at all. Appetizer - Marinated Olives (Zeytoon Parvardeh): The olives were unusually large and overpowering. This dish should be balanced, you're supposed to taste the walnut, pomegranate, and herbs, not just big olives. At this point, it made sense why the restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday lunchtime, maybe 4-5 tables total. To be completely honest, the food upset our stomachs to the point where we had to take Pepto-Bismol afterward. Overall, the food quality was very disappointing, and we will not be coming back. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic or well-made Persian food. Again, no issues with the staff, they were great. The problem is entirely with the food.

All the meat whether chicken, salmon or beef comes out perfectly juicy and flavorful. Just wish things weren't so expensive. They do add an extra $3 for salad, which isn't preposterous but not worth it in my opinion. Also they certainly do pile on the rice inside!! Yummmm. And I'll gladly eat their roasted tomatoes anytime. This restaurant was quiet and I gladly filled a cup of ice water by the entrance, plopped on a bench and waited less than 15 minutes for 2 plates. The cashier even brought it over to me rather than calling out; a small but meaningful impact of service. This is a new review on an old favorite of mine. Glad to reunite again Taste of Tehran!

Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. My family and I went here one afternoon and as we sat down, the attendant from the restaurant told us that the specific table we were sitting on wasn't part of the restaurant and we were not going to be served if we sat there in a very rude tone. We went ahead and moved. Then we went up to the cashier to order our food and the two people that were there were busy talking to each other in farsi about a customer that just came and didn't tip along with some very vulgar language. Then as we were ordering, we told them it was our first time and we got no smile or anything, very still faces like whatever. We ordered two Koobideh wraps and a few other things. It was very uncomfortable. The Cashier didn't even speak to us. As we sat down we were "served" after we HAD to ask if we get bread and onions and water because we saw that they were taking those things to other tables. The Koobideh wrap tasted like Rubber and you could barely hold it together as it was drenched with the sauce and all soggy. Even my 1 year old wouldn't eat it. We had to open up the sandwiches and eat them with a fork. It was not a good experience. Tip for the owner: You should probably remind your employees that some of your customers are Persian and they will understand them talking shit.
