I was hungry hahaha , here's a small piece of cinnamon roll heaven

Delicious ooey gooey cinnamon roll! It's made fresh every morning. The friendly lady at the register heated it up for me and even added extra frosting. It was perfect. Thank you for making my morning a little brighter!

Small bakery located directly across from the Bernal library. Offers a variety of baked goods and drinks. There's pizza Thursday through Sunday. This is a great place to swing by if you're at the library or playground. The iced latte was quite good on a warmer day and their pizzas (can be baked in the shop or take home) had a good mix of options to choose from. I tried their delicious tiramisu also, which was a huge box for $15! Will definitely be back to support.

    11.09.2025 - seasonal (peach) crostock

seasonal crostock - sliced seasonal fruit (peaches?) on top of croissant bread, topped with a crumble and powdered sugar. The fruit was fresh and the bread was solid though nothing out of the ordinary. A fresh and sweet treat.

I don't come to Bernal Heights often, so I made an effort to explore the area and came here for the cold brew. I picked up a savory beef Wellington and a sweet pain suisse pastry, which I really enjoyed together. Not a long wait during a weekday morning, and there are seats indoors and outdoors for you to relax and enjoy the start to your day. I wish this was closer to me since I would come more often, and definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Such a cute bakery in our neighborhood that came to existence through the COVID era. Our kids love this place because of the little library nook.

If you're like me, when you look into a bakery case full of fine pastries, you can't really control yourself. So take my advice: Walk to Bernal Basket. The walk up that hill will burn so many calories you'll be able to convince yourself it's ok. This place is legit. The hype is real. And it's as charming as the rest of the neighborhood. The star is the brioche-y cinnamon roll. Intense cinnamon flavor and plenty of fluffy cream cheese frosting. Definitely a lighter dough than most cinnamon rolls but such a strong flavor profile = excellent pastry experience! Also had an apple cider donut. Very good. Not quite the crunchy version directly from a traditional orchard but best in SF, it's a safe bet. Then the third thing I ordered was a Pain Suisse. It was ok. Really wish it had more filling. It tasted more like a croissant with a hint of chocolate and custard. Would have preferred a smaller pastry to make the proportions work better. It was pretty busy but I found space in the parklet and hung out for a while. They actually have heaters if it's cold. Nice touch. Definitely one of my favorite bakeries in the city already.

Fresh baked goods, coffee perfection and great staff/service. Not only can you grab a pastry or two but you can also purchase loaves of goodness. Don't sleep on this location when you are in Bernal Heights

So glad to have another cute local bakery on Cortland! They sell sandwiches, breads, and of course various savory and sweet baked goods. My favorites are the ham & cheese croissant (pro tip: reheat in your air fryer!) and the seasonal crostock, which is a croissant dough based pastry with jam or other toppings. When I visited most recently, the crostock had fuyu persimmon and pomegranate seeds, but it's always changing. Make sure to stop by if you're looking for a quick treat!

Been following this place on social media for a few months now ever since they opened in Bernal Heights - their sandwiches look so picturesque. We decided on the following: - PROSCIUTTO STRACCIATELLA: 3/5 - bread was tough and tasted a bit stale, prosciutto and cheese and stone fruit filling was tasty but overall was a bit disappointed. Looked better than it tasted - Tiramisu: 2/5 - soggy mess, good strong flavors though - Whole wheat bread: 3/5 - dense, was just ok - pain suisse au chocolat: 4/5 - our favorite of everything we ordered, tasty chocolate pieces, dessert itself was not as flaky but still very good Wouldn't go out of our way for this place again but if we're around next time might try their hot sandwiches.

Cute little spot next to United Dumplings. Came in to try the cinnamon roll but they were out so settled for a peanut butter cookie which was perfectly moist and flavorful without being too sweet. The staff were helpful in finding an alternative and threw in an extra cookie since it was nearing closing time. Will be back to try more soon!

If you need a cake for a special occasion or coffee / pastries for a cozy morning you can't go wrong here. For Mother's Day I preordered their Celebration Vanilla Buttercream Cake with Black Lockett Floral. I've ordered bday and holiday cakes before so I had high expectations, but this cake was gorgeous! A show stopper fit for the amazing moms in our lives. The devils food base was moist and rich and paired perfectly with the salted vanilla buttercream. My family compared it to an upscale Oreo hehe... It also made my mom feel so special which is all you can ask for. 10/10! If you're preordering there is no special express line, and the shop can be busy, so keep that in mind if you're in a rush. I usually end up grabbing more pastries and a coffee while in line so it's win-win for me. The shop also has a small selection of cute merch, cards, sprinkles and other assorted gift items handy for picking up on your way to a party. Definitely one of my favorite bakeries, especially when I'm looking for a crowd pleasing cake. Highly recommend repeat visits as their menu is constantly rotating with the seasons. Can't wait for my next visit!

There's a small, devoted cult of bagel people in this city who line up for what they swear is the best bagel in san francisco. You can't get a bagel sandwich here. It's not that kind of place. It's more like the neighborhood baker showing up with a basket of something special for the community. The bagels are naturally leavened and sourdough-based, so they're crustier, chewier, and more rustic than NY bagels. It's a different philosophy. The cream cheeses are made in house, and some of them are unique - like the horseradish and shallot -with freshly grated horseradish, minced shallot, and parsely - I loved this one.
