the best bagels in sf! very elusive schedule (order wednesday for pickup friday, order friday for pickup saturday, or wait in line on saturday) but i've been here twice and everything is amazing. the bagels are incredibe quality and the lox & dill cream cheese is so flavorful! the pickup area is just a room, and the owner is personally working the counter. if you preordered, you can cut the line and just pick up immediately instead of waiting for the line. overall, i highly recommend and can't wait to come back!

I desperately wanted to love this one-man bagel-shop pop-up that's open just two days a week, sells out very quickly, and gets lots of foodie attention. But I was underwhelmed. The bagels weren't as chewy as I'd like, and were harder on the outside than I'm used to. They'd work better with cream cheese, but dry they're tough. The dog log was fun I'd go back for that. Ordering online is super-efficient, and there's literally no wait when you arrive (people standing in line or complaining that their preferred option isn't available need to learn how a pop-up - and online ordering - works)

Come and stand in line. Got here at 9 am, stood and waited 35 min. We have a well behave group. Not noisy. Dogs sunning in the sun. Babies in their strollers. People walking their dogs. The baker is taking a vacation starting tomorrow and won't be back till August 4th or 8th. Don't come or else you will be disappointed. I got up early today, had an appointment elsewhere, and got here just right. This is a way cross town trek. Got a baily, pumpernickel dog (salty dog), 2 everything, 2 pumpernickel, 1 onion, 1 sesame. Damage $30. Some bagels were still warm. Can't wait to eat them toasted. They take credit card. Only opens 9 am to 11 am Saturdays.

Can me here on a Saturday morning and a short line before he open at 9 AM. During the week it is pre-order only. Nice selections of bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon. Bialy and dog log. Everything is to go only. Prompt service and good quality owner operator came from Connecticut, but his train in San Francisco It is currently a pop-up, but hopefully he will get a permanent place in the future open only for a few hours a day so plan for it

Pastrami lox sandwich on everything bagel and smoked trout sandwich on onion bagel

I enjoy bagels (although I don't eat them much bc they're quite filling) so I was excited to try Chicken Dog Bagels which has been popping up at PizzaHacker. The day the bf and I went to grab bagel sandwiches for brunch, they had pastrami lox sandwiches and smoked trout sandwiches. We got one of each since we like to share and try more things. Got the lox on an everything bagel and the trout on an onion bagel. There were flavored schmear options which I enjoy when I'm only having bagel and schmear but for a sandwich I thought going plain would be best so we could focus on the taste of the lox/trout too. Both sandwiches tasted really good. The bf rarely gets bagels but he actually just mentioned these sandwiches the other day which is a good indication they got his stamp of approval haha. They're on vacation now but will be returning in mid May.

Amazing service. Funny we bumped into the (Alex) owner's parents outside of the shop hanging out. We a little bit of everything. Dog log is a unique twist to bagels and hot dogs. Bialys was my favorite with a fluffy center and crispy shell. Pumpernickel with onion was a little tough to bite.

I started upping my bagel consumption around the High Holidays and it just doesn't seem to have stopped. I put the blame on all the new bagel spots that have been popping up all over San Francisco lately for skyrocketing my carb intake. But hey, when you score on a winning bagel place like Chicken Dog, it's so worth it! First up, gotta go with the Bagel Log! It's essentially a hot dog wrapped inside a bagel. Think pigs in a blanket, but pigs in a bagel in reality. These came out hot with a perfectly thin bagel wrap that was crunchy on the outside but with just enough of a chewy texture inside. It's the bagel that really makes this, as the "dog" inside was just ok. The Bagel Log alone was worth the long wait. And yes, this new spot is super popular already, so there's a line! Next up, the bagels. Bomb! You won't go wrong with the sesame, and if you like onions, the onion bagel is an excellent choice with the flavorful bits of slightly browned onions. Both were crunchy on the outside and nice and chewy on the inside. This is the closest I've come in the San Francisco Bay Area to the classic New York style bagel so far. Lastly, calling out all smoked fish fans! The Hot Smoked Trout Rillettes is for you! The 8-ounce container was packed with fresh chunks of nicely smoked trout. Generously smear this all over your bagel and you won't know which you like more, the bagel or the rillettess. Granted, this is coming from a fan of rillettes. Without a doubt, I'll be back! High fives to Chicken Dog Bagels. FIYAH!!

I used to hate when people used to say, " There is no "good bagels" here in SF! (Especially those from New York and the East Coast!) I had to agree. No disrespect to Wise Sons or Daily Driver! Sometimes I don't feel like driving to Berkeley for Boichik or Beauty Bar. I want a good priced bagel and not Noah! It's $2.50 for a great bagel here! Very happy with Chickendog! Bagels are fresh and crispy outside, dense and chewy dough inside! I splurged a little bit since its the weekend and got a lox sandwich, delicious! You are able to preorder but I simply walked up a little bit after 9am and ordered. Was able to leave a happy customer after I was handed my bag of goodies few minutes later. Please check their website since they are open with limited days and hours.

Really good and fresh ingredients, delicious lox and great ratio of the homemade everything seasoning. Definitely not a New York style bagel so don't wait the 45mins in line if that's what you're expecting but still a great small business to support with a wonderful and passionate owner

I've recently moved to SF from the east coast and have high expectations for my bagels; thankfully, Chicken Dog meets those expectations. Bagels have a great flavor, texture, and consistency. Lookin forward to making this a typical Saturday stop.

I've been looking for a place in town that delivers the same type of meals I'd find in Katz's (nyc), and Wise Sons is good!!! The bread was on point, not soggy at all even though this particular sandwich comes with coleslaw inside (I loved the sweetness of the slaw with the Russian dressing). The corned beef was spectacular. And I also liked their potato salad very much. You can bet I'll be ordering again from this place.

Weirdly, I often have egg-salad sandwiches on my mind, even though I know they can be gross. I've had plenty of egg-salad disasters, sandwich and otherwise, and I'm normally a very gun-shy person, but if a place has egg salad on its menu, I'll probably order it. Wise Sons always has egg salad on its menu. The problem is that it didn't have any egg salad on hand the first two times I came here.* Whatever I had instead, both times (and I had something different each time) was delicious. I don't know why I haven't tried the latkes yet. I guess I'm not a very wise son. The place is old school and feels perfect inside. It won't transport you magically to the past like many killer authentic interiors will, but it's very easy to imagine what the inside of this store looked like in 1941 or whenever. There was never more than one other person dining in each time I came. Maybe it's because I came so late in the day? More people would make it feel like a convivial breakfast destination. Empty, it feels like a good place with good food. Yes, it's overpriced, especially with all the delicious food you can get for cheaper within a few doors of this business on 24th Street in the Mission. But Wise Sons. It's a thing, a thing I'm glad I got wise to. *Did they sell out? Just didn't bother to make it? Who orders egg salad in the 2020s, anyway?

My wife and I were meeting someone in San Francisco in the afternoon and we wanted to eat lunch beforehand. We were interested in trying Wise Sons Deli since we have heard so many people praising it. Since we were coming into the city via BART, this location was great. The ambiance is pretty basic; ordinary tables and chairs and only some photos on one wall. You order and pay at the counter and then someone will deliver the food to the table. If you want coffee or water it is serve-yourself. However, the food is fantastic! My wife ordered a corned beef Reuben sandwich ($18.50). It was thick and very tasty. I ordered a House Special Pastrami Reuben that had a smaller Reuben sandwich, french fries, a side of cole slaw, and a drink ($19.50). While it had half as much meat as the regular Reuben, it was still a good size. They make their own Pastrami and Corned Beef and it tastes great. Boichik doesn't skimp on the cream cheese - it was a very generous amount! However, I agree with some of the other reviews, the bagel itself was hard. I guess I should elaborate a little more for all y'all faithful Yelp readers. I tried a couple of different bagels at Noe Bagel. The sesame and everything bagels are both generously coated, with a beautiful outer crust that has just the right texture. The inside is soft and chewy. It's a classic New York-style bagel that will satisfy even your strongest bagel cravings. The mini bagels maintain that same excellence, just in a smaller form. Because of their size, the crust-to-center ratio gives you more of the micro-blistered snap that I love about bagels. Personally, I'd choose two or three minis over one regular bagel. The cream cheese is also excellent--well-balanced and smooth. My favorite is the blueberry cream cheese. It has just a hint of sweetness that brings out the richness and creaminess of the cheese. And, like many spots in San Francisco, they offer a sourdough bagel. It's quite different from their sourdough bread, but I enjoyed it. If you're visiting, I'd recommend giving it a try. For my everyday go-to, I'd stick with a classic sesame or plain bagel, but Noe Bagel has enough variety to keep things interesting if you want to switch it up regularly. As a bonus, they sell day-old bagels by the bag for $4. You can freeze them, eat them as-is, or repurpose them into bread pudding. You'll end up with an interesting dish thanks to all the different bagel varieties mixed together--but that's part of the fun!
