Absolutely love the aesthetic and art inside. Super clean and staff is super nice and friendly. The matcha was pretty good and great quality as well!

Had a somewhat disappointing experience at C&W this morning, we had been wanting to come here for a long time (came on a day they were supposed to be open previously but found them to be inexplicably closed). We finally made it here, only to be let down by the fact that the rebel within muffin with egg baked in had raw dough all around the egg. It was gross and we had to throw the (fairly expensive) pastry out once we got home. Our second pastry a morning bun was more straightforward and better, and the coffee was reasonable. I don't think we would come back, but I wouldn't recommend against going either, just don't get any of the soft baked egg items.

I guess I've been slacking. I'm here quite a bit when I'm in the area. The Den is just as great as the original C&W. Can never go wrong with the rebel and their coffee is great. There's a few tables outside for some nice outdoor seating. Lawrence and staff are always very nice and eager to help you out.

If you love prosciutto you you're gonna love this Of all the years I've lived in the bay I can embarrassingly say I've never been to a craftsman and wolves until today. I ordered the uppercrust sandwich and I can safely say IM OBSESSED!! So filling, so flavorful, and enough to last me until dinner. The bread is a bit tough to eat through if you have sensitive teeth but delicious nonetheless.

1 block from main 3rd street. Located by warehouses. Parking is scarce but you can double park or block a driveway. Or park a block or two away to sit in. Out door seatings for sunny days Indoor seatings for rainy days. It's a quiet area. Store is very clean and organized. I walk in and there was no one to help me. A very nice women came out of office , jump right in and help me. The counter staff return and made my yummy mocha. Very helpful and friendly staffs. I came in for the rebel and it did not disappoint me. I love the chai muffin and kouign amann. Morning bun was still good the next day.

curled hair on the side veggie of my muffin

It's been awhile since i visited this cafe and all my excitement and appetite was lost after seeing a hair on a side veggie served with my $9 muffin I would say their pastries are great but now i think it's overrated and overpriced. with that price i hope atleast they prepare their food with quality control. I also ordered Dulce de leche latte - that one is pretty good, i recommend trying it! my friend ordered matcha latte strawberry and we both try and say ehhh... Will i go back again? MAYBE just for lattes but not for the pastries!

Gee, I had no idea Craftsman and Wolves had a bakery cafe in Bayview. "BAYVIEW? Ooooh, I'm dyin'!" That was my Bugs Bunny impersonation. I can do Daffy Duck upon request, but I digress. I discovered this off-the-beaten-path spot on a random search in Google Maps. I just expanded the view with my index finger and thumb pinched in a sweeping outward motion, and there it was. My curiosity led me to take the T line further south than I normally would and got off at the Williams Avenue stop. Never heard of it. I had to walk past a McDonald's with especially aggressive drivers who sped out of the drive-thru once they got their McNuggets in hand. I turned a corner onto Yosemite and was deep in the residential, working class neighborhood when I came upon the corner cafe at the Yosemite Plaza building (photo: https://bit.ly/3MHeql0). It turned out that CAW (as they refer to themselves) have their production facility kitchen here, so they decided to open this compact shop with a streamlined menu. They had some tempting croissants and other goodies at the counter. But I tried to be good (whatever that means). I went with two items. The first was their $11 Salad with Fancy Ranch, a smallish but tasty creation, a very casual assembly of little gem lettuce, kale, pickled red onions, cucumber, pecorino romano, and toasted croutons tossed liberally with their "fancy ranch" dressing (photo: https://bit.ly/369NBoP). In other words, it was like a high-end Caesar. The second was the $10 Egg Salad Sandwich where they mixed the egg salad with celery, yuzu, little gems, and chili flakes. They placed the mixture between two slices of toasted milk bread (photo: https://bit.ly/3HYyThN). Love egg salad no matter who makes it, but the fresh bread really made it taste fresher. I also had the smooth $3.75 House Drip Coffee to wash it down on a wet chilly morning (photo: https://bit.ly/364KFKf).. The outdoor bench was occupied, so I ate my meal at the standup counter next to the window. Meanwhile, several regulars came in for their takeout orders. The food and overall experience definitely made the long T ride worthwhile. FOOD - 4 stars...simple foods well turned with the housemade croutons and milk bread elevating the quality considerably AMBIANCE - 4 stars...a small space but quite a gentrified touch for Bayview SERVICE - 4 stars...didn't take much time at all TOTAL - 4 stars...CAW goodies worth the T line trek RELATED - Exploring Bayview/Hunters Point? A few months ago, I wrote a review in regards of my experience at the Valencia location of Craftsman and Wolves. I wrote a review based on my negative experience and gave them a big fat 1 star. I never regretted nor will apologize for writing that review. The food was incredibly good the customer service was horrible. I hope they make changes. Anyway, my experience here in this location is the exact opposite. The Hispanic lady from the customer service was incredibly nice. I ordered a cookie, brownie and a mocha for a quick bite. Everything was good! I chatted a little bit with the Hispanic staff and I told her everything about about the lousy experience from the other location. She apologized for the rude behavior of the staff from the other location but I told her she didn't have to. I ordered a chai latte before leaving. Perhaps I should start coming into this location instead of going to Valencia Street.

    Mochinele
    Eric L.

The mochinele, a vegan/gluten-free ube-flavored creation, is divine. The croissant was dull. The shop itself is tiny, and the food is pricy (particularly given the working-class neighborhood it's in), but I'll go back (repeatedly) for the surprisingly-decadent small bite.

I arrived at the bakery before it opened on a weekend morning, and there were already a couple of brave souls in line. I waited only about 25 minutes for the bakery to open, and once doors officially opened to customers, I was in and out in no time with my fresh pastries in hand. I enjoyed my almond croissant as soon as I got back home, and now I fully understand why Arsicault is at the top of everyone's SF bakery list. The almond croissant was still warm, the inside struck the perfect balance between fluffy and gooey (from the almond paste), and the exterior was nicely crisped. The almond filling is super rich and decadent yet not overly sweet. I also noticed - and appreciate - how Arsicault's almond croissant doesn't include toasted almonds on top, since these can often get over-baked and taste bitter. I definitely agree this is one of the best pastries in SF now.

I definitely feel like the team implementing the 7:45AM start time to line up has helped a lot. Not only is it better for the neighbors, but it also makes the whole experience feel a lot less chaotic compared to showing up super early and scrambling to get in line. Everything feels much calmer and organized now. As for the pastries: To be honest, it really depends on what you like. I'm one that gravitates towards pretty much anything with meat and chocolate. Because of that, most of their savory/meaty and creamy pastries are always a must for me. They're super flaky, flavorful and decadent. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making everything as high quality as possible, especially since you can see them making everything from the window while waiting in line. All in all, I think there's been a lot of improvement over the past year with some trial and error. Their pastries have always been delicious and I personally think it's worth the wait. I recommend getting to the area closer to 7:45AM so you have a better chance of being towards the front of the line. If not, it's still better to come before opening, I just wouldn't recommend getting there right before they open. By then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything you want since they do run out depending on how many people are there.

My husband got in line while I waited outside. It's on the first floor of the Japan Center Malls and easy to find in the corner. While the line was long it moved quickly and we ended up ordering two drinks and a few pastries. We had the drinks right away and I enjoyed their honeycomb toffee latte ($8.25) while my husband ordered a flavored lemonade. The Honeycomb latte wasn't overly sweet and the honeycomb on top was a nice treat. The honeycomb itself was sweet and crunchy and you can either pick it out and eat it or stir it into your drink and let it melt. The lemonade my husband ordered was on the sweeter side, but was super refreshing for summer. If you like sweet you'll like this- if you prefer less sweet or tart it may not be for you. We also brought home a few of their pastries. All of them were fresh and well made. The basque cheesecake was creamy and satisfying without being overly sweet. The chocolate chip cookie had dark chocolate and was really rich and satisfying. The last pastry I forget the name of but it was like a cinnamon roll but with an orange glaze and some cocoa powder, this one was also delicious and not overly sweet.
