My son took me here for dinner and it was amazing! Our server was great. She was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was nice and clean and warm and inviting. My hamburger was delicious! I will definitely come back. This is one of my son's favorite places to go. I highly recommend coming here.

OMG.. what a little gem, who knew (okay, my friends knew). This little local establishment is in a tiny strip center off 9th and Jersey. The staff was so friendly and a huge shout out to Bailey our server (5 gold stars for her). We meet for a quick bit on Wednesday night also in time for Happy Hour. Wednesday is al Prime Rib special night. 2 set of friend share a large portion with mashed taters and green beans. I was at a Baja bistro and thought it best to try a Mexican item. I am a sucker for anything smothered. So I ordered the burrito with rice and beans queso cheddar cheese, and carne asada. A huge flour tortilla filled with meat, Sautee onions, peppers, mushrooms and spinach topped with shredded lettuce, dice tomato & sour cream and of course SMOTHERED in house made green chili. OMG delish. Oh, and it come with a side of chips... yeah, you read that right a side of potato chips. Our server let us upgrade to French fries in a large basket with (as my grandson says) dip (yep ketchup). In the neighborhood, or even close... I highly recommend Bertha's and ask for my new friend Bailey!

Neighborhood place with a large brunch menu. Service and food were slow but once it came, it was good. Not incredibly large portions but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Nothing special in the ambiance but we could get a table immediate on a weekend prime time.

Had a very enjoyable experience at Bertha's! Food was excellent and served quickly. I had the adult Mac & cheese and would highly recommend! The staff was very friendly and attentive. It is a laid back local vibe. Will definitely be back.

I saw this place a few months ago going to a Yelp Elite Event. They are on the south end of a small strip mall in the Montclair neighborhood. They have a small bar which almost every seat was occupied on Friday at 3pm. 1 large room and a smaller one. A large shaded patio facing west. Very large menu with appetizers, soups & salads, burgers & sammies, tacos, entrees and daily specials. A table menu sign had drinks and desserts. No QR codes. The various flat-screen t.v's were showing sports, CNN and TNT movies without captions or sound. I started with freshly brewed iced tea. Nice and strong. In fact, I had 3 glasses with lunch. I chose the Don Fuego cheeseburger with pepperjack cheese, roasted poblanos, red bell pepper, sliced jalapeños, sliced onions with a chipotle aioli & Tabasco sauce. I got the beer battered Onion Rings as my side. I used the sauce to dip the onion rings into since the burger toppings already gave alot of heat. I was served by Autumn P. She was quick & pleasant. There was a sign on the check-in podium that they prefer cash over cards, but Autumn said it was not an issue. So Bertha's is basically a local diner with a wide selection. When I left at 415pm, they were filling up.

The stellar reviews brought my husband and I along with 3 friends into Bertha's Baja Bistro on a Sunday morning for brunch. The fantastic food and service will easily bring me back next time I am in the area. All 5 of us enjoyed our food. I couldn't decide between a sweet or savory option, so the fact that pancakes come as a side option (along with toast, potatoes, fruit, sausage or bacon) made the ordering process that much easier. I went with the Huevos Rancheros along with a side of the blueberry pancakes. Everything was so good. I completely devoured my food with no morsel left in sight! Others in my group went with the Breakfast Burrito and the Bertha's Benedict. We all left fully satiated.

Not a great experience. Cold food that my Dad felt had no seasoning. Also has a funky smell and a little too much dive bar vs. good food.

Ask the Community - Bertha's Baja Bistro

Hi Bertha's I noticed that on Yelp the spelling of Bertha's Baja Bistro is correct but your sign is Berthas Baha Bistro? We are excited to come in and try the food.

The sign was misspell but got corrected last week. I'm a neighbor and love this place! Great made from scratch food and amazing and friendly staff!

The staff was super friendly and helpful despite being overwhelmed by a very large party while I was there. They take their time making the drink because they clearly want you to enjoy them. The Mac and cheese was some of the best I've had at a restaurant. I really enjoyed the lollipop chicken. Not overcooked and sauced nicely. It seems like it could be a quiet spot for a meal and/or cocktail whenever there is not a convention in town.

Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

Death & Co is a bar that has been on my list to go to for a very long time. We made our reservation ahead of time, which I would highly recommend you do. I almost didn't do it, but I'm glad I did because it was limited seating still. The inside atmosphere is absolutely amazing elegant, upscale. This is the place to be. We originally sat at a lower table with a large couch and two side chairs. We had a group of six and we fit pretty comfortably. The only error we had was when the waitress was bending down to give us our first round, someone from the table behind bumped her and the tray of drinks went over. Honestly not really her fault and she was very apologetic. It did splash one of my party members, which is why they offered to comp us the drinks and we had to unfortunately move the table because of broken glass. They were fortunately able to get us into another table pretty quickly. It was close to the bar, which wasn't inherently bad. They gave us a fresh round of drinks. The food that came out was all amazing. We ended the meal with their chocolate chip cookies, which were divine. I'm pretty sure they were brown butter chocolate chip cookies because it had that excellent specific flavor you get from browning butter and baking. All in all, this place truly delivers an amazing experience. The wait staff was able to make amazing recommendations on cocktails based on what people's preferences are. The food was truly amazing. If you like good food and great drinks, I would definitely check this place out.

We got a hash brown to try out some of the hot sauces and it's the perfect vehicle for that. I thought the tuna melt was quite good, surprisingly strong tuna and crispy bread. Ended up going on a Friday around 11 AM instead. It was still packed, but we were only 4th on the waitlist and got in very quickly! Sooo definitely keep that in mind if you're planning a weekend visit. The crispy hash browns tasted like they'd already been sitting out for a while, so they weren't as crunchy/flaky as I typically like them. The animal sauce was good though! The huevos rancheros rendition was alright ... definitely spicy, but it only came with all of like 8 chips total, which was disappointing lol. There was also a tortilla in the middle, which I wasn't expecting / was soggy. The pork was drowned in so much green chili that you couldn't really taste the pork itself. Overall, it was just an okay meal. Surprisingly, my favorite part was actually the quality of the coffee they used for the Americano! Service was solid. Ambiance is real cute! Outdoor seating too is a vibe. Very Clean bathrooms. Overall, it just didn't do it for me, and I probably won't be back honestly.
