Horrible experience. Ordered pizza, cheese curds, fries, and wings and arrived more than an hour and 15min. Called on status and got hung up on. Called again and put on long hold. Once addressed told it was 10 more minutes. Didn't say sorry or offer anything. Waited the 10'min and nothing came. once arrive it was cold and unseasoned and looked like it was tampered with. My first time ordering pizza here wasn't great, but my family enjoyed their ribs so we ordered a few nights later... my first pizza was mostly dough which i uploaded a photo. My daughter wanted their ribs a few nights later so we ordered from them again pizza came out better & then last night my daughter wanted chicken so i got another pizza from them & this time was the best i ever gotten thumbs up to the pizza maker it is what im talking about!!! Gigantic trees of unseasoned broccoli tossed on top of soggy bland undercooked crust. Even reheated the next day... just a horrid waste of $30. Bertolli's CANNOT be consistent if their lives depended on it. The ONLY reason we foolishly keep ordering from there is; 3 out of 10x the pizza is kick-ass. The other 7, you can complain and drive over if you want to get a replacement. An apology is a bonus if you can get one. read more

The thin crust River Pizza is our go-to pizza. Never disappointed. The delivery is courteous and fast.

I used to order River Pizza at least once a week in the 80's. My family got so much River Pizza that that they knew our order when we called. It's my favorite. Cut to last week. Prodigal daughter coming home for a visit from Los Angeles with (hot) boyfriend in tow. We both love pizza, and I really wanted to show him what a perfect pizza tastes like. So I go to Yelp to see if River is still in business, and if people still love it. They are, and they do! Wanna hear something freaky? I used to call River Pizza SO OFTEN that even after 25 years, I still remembered the phone number!!! Anyway, I called in an order for pick up. The pie was piping hot, and smelled like 1987. I ripped that paper open and got to grubbing. DAAAYYYUM.... it was just as I remembered. Perfect thin and crispy crust - just right. The sauce, the cheese, the pepperoni. It brought back a million memories. And it was just as amazing as I thought it would be. The boyfriend was impressed, and, honestly, a little addicted. I love you River Pizza! read more

Bertolli's River Pizza first time having this pizza and I can say it was good. The crust was Thin, I had to ask for extra sauce and the cheese was good. I ordered to go and the cardboard was so thin it bent my pizza so not happy. But next time I will eat it so taste the difference. read more

We drive 45 mins to get this pizza, and this is our favorite pizza. Unfortunately last time I called, someone left me on hold for 4-5 minutes. Then they answered and asked "you're still here?" And I said "yess!" And got hung up on. Then I called back and said that I'm calling to get a carry out. & they rudely said "hurry up, make it quick, I have a lot of customers. Let's go!" This was on speaker as my family and I we were 20 minutes into driving. I politely told them, "Mmm no thank you" & hung up. I was being polite throughout the whole time, and I'm unsure why I didn't get it back. Been following them on all social media's so I can get ideas what to order, but unfortunately that really pushed our family away as we been with Bertolli's pizza over 4 years, and travel time was not something we cared for. Great pizza though, highly recommend. Maybe customer service could be worked out. We are why your business is booming! A Great family usually means great food, made with care. These folks have it down, and the business has been a mainstay in the area for a long time. The pizzas are awesome, not too heavy. My go to pizza place. This is a lowkey spot but the quality is just as good as Giordano's, Gino's East, or Lou Malnati's. My boyfriend and I always order a thin crust large extra sauce and extra cheese and the crust is still crispy not saggy. Really good quality meats and cheese how do I know? The pizza and baked clams are very good but the customer service is not. Long story short the last time I was there they messed up my order and over charged me, the manager recognized the mistake and said he'd credit me next time I came in. Well next time I came in I was explaining to the girl at the front that I needed to speak to the manager as she didn't know anything about the situation. She got him and he looked at me, like he didn't recognize me, so I explained what happened and he cut me off with a curt "yeah I know I'm doing it." I would expect anyone who enters that establishment to be treated with respect and courteousness, not be greeted with rudeness when I was trying to rectify a mistake THEY made. When the family says "Let's get a pizza tonight," this is where we go. I order a jumbo sausage and pepperoni (they have 5 sizes) for myself, eat about a third of it, and stash the rest in the refrigerator for lunch the next couple of days. To me it's just as good cold as it is burn-the-roof-of-your-mouth hot. My family orders what they feel like, usually a spinach and garlic. To each his/her own. We've never eaten in their restaurant, we always order for pick-up with the occasional delivery if we don't feel like driving. When we pick-up the restaurant is always empty. I find that interesting but not my concern. The ambiance is 80's black/red/white tile. I have no idea what their restaurant service is like. The familia can be a bit brusque, but it's a Italian-American family run pizzaria, what do you expect? They are nice enough to me, but they know me from repeat business. Cash only. If you're in a pinch for cash, they own the convenience store/deli next to the pizzaria, and it has an ATM. Price per person is very reasonable, unless you are like me and order for three days! They have this thing that if you save and turn in menus you can get a free pizza. We order often enough here that we've taken advantage of this several times. read more

Absolutely shocked at this place. Walked into the place around 4 pm during pride weekend. It was sweltering hot in there. They didn't have air. There were four employees in the kitchen talking and gossiping and one of the employees a young lady was sitting in the kitchen bashing the pride parade and Puerto Rican fest. It was just strange. I sat there for a few minutes listening to this before I walked out. I believe it's family owned so I don't expect much change. It made me uncomfortable I just left. Been ordering take out here since I moved 5 years ago. Never dined in, had delivery maybe twice (I live really close). I'm OK with the cash only. They want to avoid the CC surcharge, I don't blame them. Small businesses are like that. The pizza comes wrapped in paper. No soggy cardboard. It does make it a little harder to drive home. I've had the baked mostaccioli, fried mushrooms and dinner salad as well. All good stuff. The eggplant parmesan sandwich was great too. You're not going to get low-cal or weight-watching food here but .. it's pizza. Recently I tried a certain pizza not on the menu when I saw them pulling a huge beef brisket out of the oven and asked what that was about. FANTASTIC. I don't know how anyone can disparage the taste. I have heard there pizza is good so that is nice. But the problem is there pasta with broccoli. I asked for without the parmesan cheese since I am vegan. Most restaurants don't need cheese to make good. However when I tested the taste of the spaghetti with broccoli lets just say there was a lot more to be desired. The pasta is completely laking in taste. Next time please use a bit if seasoning if any. Either way you now have one less customer. read more

Tried for the first time this evening. No frills joint - Cash only. Awesome Pizza! Sauce that has flava (plenty of oregano) and a good amount of sauce and cheese all the way to the end of the pizza - not skimpy. We had 1/2 sausage and mushrooms on all. Much enjoyed with a side of giardiniara. We ordered the thincrust... and it was just thin enough with a nice flavor. I've had Bertolli's twice. The first was at my brother's birthday celebration with family and drinks, and the second was on a lazy Sunday afternoon with my husband. Both times, it was highly enjoyable. We had the cheese and sausage, (not because we were afraid of trying anything else, but because we are simple people). We carried out, but after seeing the inside, would not have minded a slice there. I have never dealt with a more poorly managed pizza place in my life. I simply tried to order pizzas for some friends at 530 on a Wednesday night. I placed my order and was told it would be delivered in about an hour. I get a phone call from them over 2 hours after the order stating the card number that they took down improperly didn't go through. Again over 2 hours after the original order. No apologies. No Im sorry. Just pure incompetence. The ironic thing is. I ordered from 2 other Pizza establishments around the same for deliveries in Oak Park for friends and they got it right. No problem. My suggestion is simply. Never ever give this establishment any business. So many better options. Unless your looking for a pizza to be delivered in 2 and a half hours or less. read more

By far one of the best thin crust Chicago Style Pizza's in the Chicago area hands down! Consistent and always made exactly as ordered. I've never had it delivered so cannot comment on delivery times. I've heard their ribs are excellent, but I haven't had them yet. The sons and daughter now work there most of the time and they are very friendly and work their asses off. The Pizza tastes exactly the same as it did when their Dad was making it on his own almost 20 years ago - so unlike some business', these kids didn't screw it up! BRAVISSIMO! read more

Now that I have moved to Evanston and cannot get my weekly/bi-weekly local pizza fix...and have to search for new local place I am appreciating them even more! What a great place to eat. A friend is obsessed with their panzerottis and is quickly getting me hooked, too! I normally don't like panzerotti, because they're usually too dry. Not here! I like the pepperoni with onion, she gets just cheese. But it's soooo good. The sauce is kinda sweet, kinda salty. It's perfect. Their fries are really good, too. We decided to try this place out after seeing it on the show Smothered, but were let down on the quality. The pizza doesn't taste any different than your typical mediocre homemade pizza, however, this one is just very over priced!
