Had the food here a few times and it wasn't out of the park amazing, but was more okay. It seems like your average teriyaki spot, so if you're in a need of a fix and are nearby, this would be a good spot to hit. The portions are large and the service is friendly. The food seems more average. I've tried teriyaki dishes as well as the yakisoba. I had the teriyaki salmon, which was a nice piece of fish, although I found the teriyaki overly thick and sweet. Two nice scoops of sticky rice, a salad of iceberg lettuce and some shredded carrots with WAY too much dressing, and a bed of more onions than I would ever eat, plus some cooked carrots. Junho invited me back after a so-so experience my first time and I am SO GLAD he did. This time I tried the gluten free Mongolian beef and it was excellent; tender beef, lots of yummy onions (it really was a generous portion) and LOTS of fluffy steamed rice. My advice for my other gluten free diners: if you have the Orange Chicken, dine in for best results. If you must take it to go, order the sauce on the side so the dish stays crispy. 5 stars! I don't think I've ever given a 5 before. For the price food quality is very good. Place is sparce but clean. Went for the first time this week and ordered fried rice, spicy chicken, and katsu chicken. Fried rice was a little bland but with some soy it was solid. Katsu could have been slightly more crispy but more personal choice, and the spicy was perfect. I got it to go...when the owner brought us our food he thanked us for coming in and then gave us a free bottle of water for the drive home, commenting on the heat we've been getting. This was the kindest gesture, in terms of service, I've received or witnessed in a long time. It made an impression. At a time when everything on the East Side seems over priced, here's a local spot with quality food at a reasonable price and 'I'll be back' service. My new terriyaki spot for sure! read more

This place is amazing, I would highly recommend it! I have celiac disease, so I am very sensitive to gluten, and I've never had a problem eating anything from their gluten free menu, which has a very wide variety of options! It's pretty rare to find Japanese food that I can eat because soy sauce is used in almost everything, so this is the only place I go for teriyaki! The service is quick and friendly. Not fast food - they take a little more time to do a quality job. The chicken is white meat (mostly breast/thigh) unlike most places. The beef is lean, not chewy & fatty. Clearly superior quality! The tempura is light and crispy, not heavy or greasy. The egg rolls are tasty and crisp as well, not soggy. The only thing that was unimpressive were the gyoza - they're nothing special. They're not as greasy as most places, but still probably frozen. This place has some of the best Teryaki I've had. The yakisoba is also amazing. We go here all the time now that we are in quarantine and I cannot express how appreciative I am of all the steps they take to prevent germs from spreading to their customers. They have done such a great job and they don't touch your credit card, they have hand sanitizer, gloves and spacing marks to keep people 6 feet a part. I feel so comfortable going in there knowing they are taking every step to keep people safe and healthy while enjoying their delicious food. Service was very slow - we had to wait at the front counter for an extremely awkward time while they kept interrupting our order to answer the phone. As we sat down, there was two tables that had half-eaten food sitting on them, without customers. Our food was slow to arrive. I ordered the gluten free chicken breast teriyaki. I tried to confirm whether the salad dressing was also gluten free and was told it "should be." Not very assuring. The GF teriyaki sauce was a little funny tasting, not comparable to the original. The entire time we were there, the adjacent tables were never cleaned off. Very poor to sit near tables with half-eaten food on them. Of all the tofu teriyaki I've tried around Seattle and in Vancouver, BC, no where has come close to what Marvin, the store owner, offers in portion, price, and my taste palette. The tofu is medium firm, lightly fried, and covered in teriyaki sauce. Some might find the teriyaki sauce for this dish a bit viscous and bit salty, but I personally like it. Best eaten fresh, otherwise the fried tofu will get a bit soggy. I also used to get the spicy chicken and chicken katsu often, which are pretty good as well. read more

The food is amazing, with rich flavors and great options for vegetarians. They even offer wok/teriyaki combinations, which is a rare treat in joints like this. I have yet to try a dish I did not like, and I have tried a good portion of their offerings. The staff is friendly, bantering with customers and recognizing regulars after only a few visits. They offer a frequent buyer's card with a good deal, and they aren't skimpy about filling it out. We are always very pleased with the quality of food, perfect blend of flavors and the excellent welcoming service and clean establishment. The beef is especially tender and melts in your mouth. The only reason this place doesnt get 5 starts is the Chinese food offered here isn't that great. However, you really shouldn't be trying to eat Chinese food at a teriyaki restaurant, so its not too big of a deal. They would be better off if they stopped serving the Chinese food entirely and just focused on teriyaki. read more
