This place is small, but its welcoming. The staff here are quick and kind. I love the drawings on the walls from their customers. It makes me feel the creativity eating here. Inspiration for the visit- - -saw it on the 10 Best Places to Pig Out on the Travel Channel...hehehe!!! Something about a 12 EGG OMELET and ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT HASHBROWNS sparked our interest!!! The four of us dared to order just that and to our surprise...we only felt like PIGLETS! :) I guess when split between the group, it equated to about three eggs each. But if ordered and eaten by one person, it could be intimidating because it's served with the toast, eggs, and hashbrowns all piled on one big pizza pan. The eggs were good and the hashbrowns were yummy and crispy. We did take advantage of the ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT hashbrowns...when in Rome!!! :) The diner was an oldie, but goody and I'm sure has been there for years and years. First time here and it's a lot of food! I ordered just the French toast breakfast and it was enough. No one in our group had the stomach for the 12 egg omelette but we did order the 6 egg omelettes and the eggs were fluffy. Parking is on the street near a traffic light so it can be difficult to park especially during busy hours. Beth's cafe never disappoints! The portions are HUGE but don't let that hold you back from ordering what you want. Just take some yummy leftovers home. We got the French toast with strawberries, corned beef hash (with fresh corned beef) AND a cinnamon roll. There is parking on Aurora on Saturdays and Sundays as well as the side streets. I've been here twice now and holy crap they give you a lot of food. My mom and I split the 6-egg omelet and STILL couldn't finish it. Definitely get a big bag for your buck. It's midnight and I got a hankering for some eggs.. Just left the club and looking some food... I need me some hangover food.. Let's have an eating contest.. I want to doodle while I eat.. If you ever find yourself in any of these situations or anything similar.. Beth's is calling your name! Beth's is best known for its 12 egg omelettes, made famous to the world from an old "Man versus Food" episode, they also do 6 egg omelettes if you cant handle the 12. They have a variety of famous omelette combos such as the Triple Bypass, the Northwest and the Veggie but you can also make your own. All of these omelettes come on a bed of hashbrowns, which if your stomach can somehow handle more is unlimited and a few slabs of toast. The menu also contains an assortment of different breakfast items such as biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, pancakes - you name it. Be warned, serving sizes at Beth's are HUGE and you will NEVER leave hungry. Note, if you want to share these omelettes they do charge 1.50 for an extra plate, but at 12 bucks for that much food an extra 1.50 tacked onto the tab aint a bad deal. Their menu also contains burgers and sandwiches as well as shakes and desserts. I absolutely LOVE LOVE their milkshakes, strawberry to be exact. Shakes are thick and creamy and to add to its greatness, its topped off with at least 3 inches of whipped cream.. heaven.. And while I love eggs as much as the next person, my person favorite items on the menu are their so called "mini" breakfasts. Only there is nothing mini about them, you can choose from bacon, eggs, sauages, hashbrowns, etc. Let me take a minute to talk a little bit about the restaurant itself. Don't come here expecting a clean cut, super proper, ritzy eating establishment, it is a 24/7 diner off of Aurora. As you walk in the front door you get an up close and personal view of the kitchen where all the magic happens. There are scattered booths in the first and second room that can accomodate groups between 2 and 8. And along the walls.. works of arts from all of Beth's loving patrons. Be mindful of the times that you choose to come, there have been many times we pull up and there are groups of people waiting outside. The staff at Beth's in my experience have always been great, hats off to them - I have seen them continually handle the most unruly patrons and still remain cheerful. What more can you ask for. Beth's is a place I probably would have loved in college. 6 months out, I would rather make my greasy spoon, late-night drunk food, early-morning hangover food in the comforts of my own home. Despite enticing entree selections like all you can eat hash browns and 12-egg omelettes, the food (excepting the addictive strawberry jam & toasted egg bread) is ... well, hard to finish. It's a nice touch that diners can take a break from scarfing down food by drawing a picture for Beth's wall, or playing an arcade game by the bathroom... but even with the crayons, the music, the games & the drunk-people-viewing, the bagel sandwich (a dam of ham, one dense, buttered egg, a melted mountain of cheddar cheese) is eminently unstomachable. If it's your thing though, it's your thing. At 3am, dining options are limited; you're either here or at Denny's. Beth's is local, hipster, grungy, musical, young, fun, etc. Meanwhile, no one looks cool for checking into Denny's on their smart phone. On a lonely, quiet night, I would stop by for camaraderie and stay for... others to eat. Maybe steal a forkful of someone's greasy, bottomless hash browns. I'm actually very surprised about the mixed reviews on Beth's. I love breakfast/diner spots and this one is definitely at the top of my list! My boyfriend is originally from Seattle, so he took me here when we were visiting. I had heard about this 12 egg omelet, so I had to get one...but we got the 6 egg instead, to split. The omelet we ordered was called the "Northwesterner" and it had salmon and cream cheese inside. It was so good, my mouth is watering thinking about it! Thank goodness we got the 6 egg omelet to split, because we just barely finished it between the two of us. I don't know what kind of mutant chickens produce eggs that big; I can't even imagine what the 12 egg omelet would look like. There was a small charge for an extra plate (maybe $1) but it was worth it. The hash browns were pretty standard and of course unlimited. But there was no need to refill our plate, there was more than enough food. I can't wait to go back to this place and try some of the other great omelet combinations! read more

They serve breakfast all the time, and are open all night (at least on the weekends). Definitely a good spot if you want some diner breakfast food. Walking into Beths on a Saturday night is like accidentally walking in on a Party. The usual foods but always good. I went here at 10:30 on a Saturday night and it was packed but that was to be expected. The staff has many unique characters. My favorite: a cook dressed in all black with a beanie but what completed his look was the red and white ruffle/lace apron. Our waitress was sweet and friendly. She checked on us throughout the meal and made sure everything was right. My sister and I split the Vegetarian biscuits and gravy with vegan sausage. Absolutely delicious, served with 4 dense biscuits and plenty of gravy. You couldn't tell the sausage was vegan. Reasonably priced too. Only $6.05 after tax. 3 stars for the food, the 4th star is for the staff and atmosphere. Oh, and you better like ALL types of music, you never know what will be playing. I'm at exactly 3.5 stars as I sit down to write this, so I'll see where my review takes me. The good: Huge portions. A 6 egg omelette is a good start to my day. I could probably tackle a 12-egger for dinner, but didn't feel like cramming quite that much omelette into me for lunch. Also, I got the biggest one they offered, with three meats and extra cheese. The great: The cake. I knew for months that I had to try it. The chocolate cake is absolutely up there. Not THE best (and I'm not counting my mom's, which is obviously the best by definition), but definitely get it. The not-good: Lack of flavor overall. I mean, yeah, the omelette was just eggs, meat, and cheese, but they could have added a little salt, herbs, you know, something other than just throwing the ingredients together. Same with the hash browns, they were just potatoes. They tasted... fake almost, as if they were done up in margarine instead of butter or oil. Whatever they were cooked in needs to be changed. They should also be done better; they came out as hash clears instead of browns. At least you can add any omelette ingredient to your hash browns. The ...eh: Smallish place. I like the atmosphere, you can put up your crayon drawing on the wall, but it means quite a wait around brunchtime (50 minutes for a group of 5 - glad I arrived a half hour early to get on the list!). No wait at all for dinner. Waitresses are slightly surly, not as bad as East Coast, and definitely with a friendly twist. Service is pretty good considering, but water refills are hard to come by. Drinks are rather expensive, though they might come with refills (didn't ask). Parking can be had, just be prepared to prowl side streets for a bit. It's an institution, and unlike some places, they haven't traded in their values for their fame. They're not great, but as some have said, it's a greasy spoon joint. For me its one of the ultimate Seattle stops that still feels like Seattle. Not the "Amazon/google/Starbucks " Seattle but the rhythm and grunge that makes this my forever city. On the shared Lyft ride over, the other passenger immediately knew were high, and told us not to go in the bathrooms. While I was trying to decipher the menu, we overheard an animated conversation about love, betrayal and murder. Our experienced Beth's cafe friend was amazed they had changed the menu and gave us his recommendations. The order: the sampler plate, a breakfast burrito, a 6 egg (create your own) omelette, and a 6.50 shake. One of my friends really had to go the bathroom but decided otherwise. She described her meal as, "I plowed right through the middle of the of it to get a little of everything." Ask yourself how willing you are to commit to your meal then choose between their legendary 6 or 12 egg omelette... needless to say you won't be leaving hungry. Every wall is covered with drawings made by mostly adult customers (myself included) that ask for crayons and paper as they wait for their food so there's plenty to look at. The one big negative is that they are great at keeping your coffee cup full which means that you'll most likely have to visit their absolutely disgusting restroom at some point during your meal. I got the homemade corned beef hash and although I felt like an old man ordering such a dish... I didn't care once I dug in. Crispy and rich heaped atop I pile of buttery hash browns and a couple fried eggs on top. Especially loved the strawberry jam! I'm assuming its homemade. They also had my favorite hot sauce, the aardvark kind. We got great service even though they were so busy, which I appreciated. HUGE PORTIONS. You will need a box... The walls are lined with drawings from children and adults. Every time I'm in there, my eyes are glued to the walls as I always find something truly bizarre and new. I've never contributed, but who knows... Maybe someday. The main claim to fame here is bottomless hash browns-- although I don't think I've ever gotten extra hash browns . The food here is totally acceptable, but great if you're looking for enormous servings. I can imagine this is great place to have breakfast after a night of drinking. I've had a range of dishes, but nothing really stands out in my mind, but I keep coming back back because it fills a special void in behind the best bang for your buck! read more

My mainstay is the Southwestern exposure brisket chili, sour cream, cheddar, and I like to throw ham and mushrooms in there just to make it super godlike. 5/5 Never go wrong. Their chicken fried steak surprised me the first time I had it. Much chewier texture than most of the super soft stuff floating around at other joints. I was a fan. 5/5. The bacon here is so insanely good, perfect balance between crispy and chewy. 5/5 I've had a few bites of their Philly Cheesesteak and I remember specifically that the bell pepper and onions were cooked perfectly. 5/5 The steak and eggs here is respectable too, good value for the price. 5/5. We have been in a few times and have always had a great experience and food!!! We pop in when we are having one of our bikes serviced at Triumph of Seattle. Overall, this tiny diner has great food and service. The portions are enormous! The omelettes are fantastic. The grilled cheese with tomato basil soup totally hit the spot!! Their breakfast never disappoints!! The older dilapidated walls are decorated with art that has been created by customers on paper using crayons. The acoustics are not very good and the conversations of those around us were incredibly loud. I did find it a little weird on our most recent visit (7/6/19) to have one of the bussers/waitresses with her butt cheek and blue panties hanging down out of her shorts...it was odd for the setting and seemed inappropriate for an employee. read more

Great coffee, huge (and delicious) portions, friendly staff, and feels like true Seattle grunge. I went with five stars because it was honestly better than I was expecting but at the same time was exactly what I was hoping for. Right on Aurora, you can't go in expecting mason jars and scones. The walls are decorated with customer-drawn "art", most of which is hungry and/or stoned people. The employees don't wear uniforms, do wear tattoos and it's doubtful their clothes are clean BUT they are incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and quick to refill your coffee. We split a 6-egg Triple By-Pass omelette and holy moly it was good. So much meat. So much cheese. Real good hashbrowns and thick toast. They do charge $1.50 for an extra plate but it is well worth it - between two people you will be equally as full and pay a few dollars less than if you got two meals. There WILL be a wait on the weekends, but it was us and two other groups on Monday morning. Take your kids in for a cultural experience and cheap meal. read more

What's not to like here? It's a 50s-style diner that's been in operation since 1954, so it's not a 50s-style diner it's an honest-to-god 50s diner. Anyway, the atmosphere is cook and funky with all the customer's drawings hung on the walls and the music is always fun. The food is good in that greasy diner way which you crave every now and then. It's not gourmet, but damn does it make you feel good. It's a bit more than you might expect at about $11 for an omelette, but it's a 6-egg omelette that will have you full until past your normal dinner time, so it's hard to complain. The only downside is that it gets really busy on Sunday mornings when everyone wants to go out to brunch, but that's to be expected. read more
