They have a cute interior and offered generously sized free samples of their newest cold brew which was delicious. The line was long, but moved quite quickly with the great service! First off, the man levitated my latte over to me. Didn't hand it. Didn't slide it. Just... hovered it across the counter like some kind of caffeinated Jedi. I asked for almond milk and I SWEAR I saw him summon the almonds from thin air, whisper an ancient espresso chant, and then squeeze them by hand in under three seconds. Then things got wilder. The moment I took a sip, the shop filled with the sound of distant seagulls and I was instantly transported to a beach in 1994. Jay was there too, wearing sunglasses and riding a dolphin, don't ask me how, it just happened. He told me "Good coffee isn't made... it's manifested" before disappearing into a cloud of cinnamon powder. When I came to, my drink was still warm, my soul was healed, and my phone had gained 20% battery. Trendy fun coffee shops but it's super loud (music is on full blast), so it's hard to have a convo or do any work there unless you're sitting outside. A lady next to me asked if they could lower the volume and they said they couldn't (??). Anyways, it's fine if you wanna grab a quick coffee and leave. Their space is set up great for remote working with plenty of outlets and spaces, but the volume makes it intolerable. Loved stopping here! It's a great little coffee shop, with multiple locations, this one is super nice with a very open floor plan, naturally flows to the back. I will say there isn't a lot of seating but there is both indoor and outdoor tables. I love the decor, very simple but fun at the same time. I would definitely say it's a nice place to just relax, study, read, catch up with friends, coffee date, etc. service was 10/10, very nice and quick with orders which was good as they were pretty busy! No customers in line & several people working - standing around talking. After 10 mins of waiting & asking TWICE about my order, I had to leave without my drink because my ride arrived. Coffee is great. Service is slow and they seem to not make drinks in the order it was placed. It seems iced drinks take preference over hot drinks. I ordered two hot drinks and waited over 15 minutes just to get one drink and then waited an additional 15 minutes to get my second drink which was a hot, black Killer Bee (coffee+espresso) which should be the easiest and quickest drink to make. I had to ask the barista a few times on the status of my Killer Bee and she would respond with "it's in process." All the while, iced drinks were being made and delivered rapidly. We spent almost a hour from standing in line to place the order until the moment we received our drinks. The coffee is not that great to wait that long!! read more

I had no idea Better Buzz was opening a location in Coronado until I just so happened to see a Reel on Instagram promoting the grand opening! Lucky for me I was already in Coronado at the time, so I decided to stop by on my way home from the beach. It's in a great location right off Orange Ave. a couple blocks from the Hotel Del and the beach. It's actually a pretty big space too, with lots of tables and booth seating and a nice open-air environment. I can definitely see myself coming here to do some work or studying on a sunny day. The drink quality is very consistent with other Better Buzz locations, and the baristas that helped me were super quick and friendly. There is also a clean bathroom for use in the back. read more

I've been a better buzz customer for 2 years now. Up until now I went to the Hillcrest location and always got the chai latte with oat milk. I was excited to see that they opened a location in Coronado. Unfortunately, I have ordered their chai latte twice and both times the chai mix was not mixed so it was very lumpy (+ the first time they gave me milk instead of oat milk). That has never happened to me before and it happened to me twice at this specific location. They always remake it which I appreciate but I would like to not have them remake my drink, and just do it the proper way the first time around. I have also ordered their avocado toast, which I used to have at the Hillcrest location (and really liked). The one in Coronado was just lacking. The bread tasted stale (most likely from the day before) and the avocado spread was very, very thin and it had no salt or seasoning. I am disappointed by this new location. read more
