Absolutely fantastic Italian restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every dish was beautifully prepared, and the pasta was outstanding. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, creating a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The cozy atmosphere made it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to come back!

I've driven by Bettola so many times and finally stopped in last night. It's located in a strip mall in Aurora, and you can't tell anything about it from the outside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked in and saw how tiny and intimate the restaurant is. There were probably 10 tables or so and bar seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted right away and asked if we had reservations but we did not. No worries, they actually had one table available so we were seated. They let us know that they make everything from scratch so receiving your entree could take up to 45 minutes. We were ok with that and ordered some drinks! I tried the Smoked Strawberry cocktail based on our server and sommelier, Schafers, recommendation! It was good, strong but good! My husband ordered a beer (the incredible pedal) and we both really liked the drinks. We decided to order the Tuscan Bean Dip that came with focaccia bread and that was super tasty! That bread was delicious, the best I've ever had! For my entree I decided on shrimp scampi while my husband got the scallops. Everything was cooked just right and was delicious. We received house bread with oil as well with our meals. For dessert I had to try the chocolate gelato and it was a perfect yummy end to the evening! The cake on the table next to us looked tasty as well and will have to try that some time! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming here! This was my first time visiting Colorado, and I decided to try Bertola Bistro after seeing all the amazing reviews on Yelp. They were rating it 10/10 and 5 stars, so I wanted to see for myself what made this place so special and I'm happy to say it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by Safia (I hope I got the name right). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small and cozy, but the reception and hospitality were perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For my appetizer, I tried something I had never had before fried rice with mozzarella cheese. It was surprisingly delicious and very flavorful. I enjoyed every bit of it. For my main course, I had the shrimp scampi, and it was cooked to perfection. The shrimp had the perfect texture and the flavors were just right. You can really tell care goes into the cooking here. I also had a drink called the Vermont, which was a mix of white wine and liquor. It was refreshing and delicious. Josh, the waiter who served my drink, was excellent and attentive. They also served a dip (I believe it was some kind of bean and olive dip) with bread, and it was very tasty as well. Overall, I have to join everyone else in saying this place deserves a full five stars 10/10. I truly enjoyed every part of my experience. As someone visiting Colorado for the first time, this has been the highlight of my trip so far. I highly recommend Bettola Bistro to anyone coming to Colorado. No regrets at all!

I came here because a friend of mine recommended the place due to the amazing and personalized service. And I 1000% agree. The sum and server who took our orders were amazing. My friend got the rigatoni with vodka sauce and crispy eggplant which was so delicious. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was amazing as well as the eggplant. I got the buccatini with marinara and lemon ricotta and meatballs. My server recommended the other dish that came with spaghetti, but I really wanted bucatini however he said the other dish was more complex. I did like my dish, but I can understand that it was not maybe as spectacular as the one he recommended. We shared the burrata with tomato jam, pickled onions, and almonds, which was amazing. We definitely needed more crostini and when I asked for more bread, I got two pieces which confused me a bit as I was expected at least four crostinis since they are pretty small. On Wednesdays all wine bottles are half off, which is a great deal. The sommelier made a recommendation for wine just by asking what we enjoy. We each got a slice of honey cake with raspberry sorbet. I wanted to share a slice with my friend but she did not so I got my own which I finished 75% of it but could've easily been fine with sharing half. It was delicious but i think the honey taste was a lot and the sorbet helped balanced that. Once i ran out of sorbet the sweetness of the cake was too much. I made a reservation because I read reviews that it is recommended to do so we had a 6 PM reservation and there was only one or two tables with people as the evening went on when we left at 8 PM. There were still a couple tables empty but it definitely filled up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is very dim that is something I immediately noticed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the menu is on a QR code.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place was so fun! The service was amazing, the food as well. I ordered the special of the day BOLOGNESE LASAGNA, I ate every bite. I also ordered an Italian Cream Soda soo good. Had a limoncello. And for dessert tiramisu. Everything was amazing. We had so much fun with our waiter. Got his name but forgot it. Darn it! I recommend making reservations as we came here for a friend's birthday and it's a small place. My only complaint is that it was pricy.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't let the strip mall location fool you, this place is a small delight![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Excellent service, atmosphere, drinks and, most importantly.. amazing FOOD.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went with the specials (short ribs and black cod) and we need to come back for the lasagna. We also had the Brussel sprouts (so tasty and crispy) and they also brought us fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic oil - classic and yummy. We ended up getting the highly recommended honey cake which was light and delicious - a great ending to a big meal.

Celebrating a late birthday dinner with friends and was greeted kindly by staff . Very personable and fun. Small space so I would recommend making a reservation in advance . We tried a little of everything . Started off with the goat cheese crostini and mussels which were fabulous but the star of the show was the lobster lasagna . I can't explain the experience but all I could say that it's an explosion of flavors that were executed perfectly in a dish ! The chicken Parmesan was delicious as well at the shrimp scampi and seafood diavolo ! Ended the night with chocolate cake and a raspberry gelato expresso . Bartender even made us expresso martini upon request. Give this place a try , it's delicious!

What can I say about Bettola other than I think Chef is the wizard of Oz behind her curtain. The food is unreal! It is made with so much thought and care and the flavors and quality are out of control. This restaurant is my absolute FAVORITE! I keep going back because the food AND service are top notch. Speaking of service, this place has the BEST staff. Josh and Schafer, thank you for always making it such a wonderful experience! I love that so much of the food is farm to table and that the staff grows it themselves. Bettola is a must try spot for your next date night. They have a gorgeous setup, with amazing service, and gluten free pasta options. I got the arrabiata pasta with gluten free and vegetarian modifications and when I tell you it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had I mean it!! I could not get enough of the lemon ricotta on top! I will absolutely return to try the rest of the menu.

But wait... there's more! Dessert topped off an amazing meal, we had affogato, the gelato was delicious and you must get the honey cake! Dropped by this restaurant after landing in Denver. We were definitely in for a treat. Italian food with an Asian twist. Josh the bartender/waiter was so nice and attentive. We got the lemongrass penne, brussel sprouts, rigatoni and it was allllll delicious! The fresh baked bread was so perfect and the wine selection is amazing. Definitely don't want to miss out on this place. They currently merged with Cody's next door. So the food was from Both menus. Incredible! Chef Sue is killing it! Tonight, my husband and I are celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary. It was a rainy and snowy night. Not a good time to go downtown for great food. We agreed to stay in Aurora. I had been following this restaurant for months on Facebook. This was the go to place tonight. WOW!! Great choice. Small, cozy boutique feeling place. I had made a reservation, so we were greeted by Rachel, co-owner, with a glass of Prosecco to celebrate. I already knew that I would order the tuna dish, raw and seasoned for a starter. The sea scallops were my choice for main course. My husband chose the mussels in garlic butter and pesto sauce as a started. For main course, he chose the shrimp scampi with linguini. Everything was the fest it could be The menu has something from all the types of protein, and vegetarian. There is a nice balance of dishes for most every taste. The best part for us--seven minutes drive from home. An Aurora strip mall is capable of hiding a gem of a place. Iliff just west of Havana is the location. We will definitely be returning. read more

After seeing so many great reviews I decided to try this cute place out. It was very quaint inside. I sat at the bar since I was solo. I had a glass of wine, a salad, and the angel hair chicken. I was very hungry. I did notice the salad had brown edges on the leaves, but ate it anyways. I should have said something. The food was good. The issue that I had was the service. They were very attentive but were somewhat unprofessional. Used medicated lip balm with her finger and then served food. I did not see her wash her hands. I just wouldn't use lip balm with fingers out for the public to see at a restaurant. The guy server had on a very wrinkled shirt. Professionalism at a nice restaurant is very important. I very rarely write comments like this. But I just feel the establishment should know. I spent close to $60 on those three items and felt like I should have had a better experience. read more

The Steak Florentine was amazing! Such a fabulous piece of NY Strip (15 oz) dry aged and cooked perfectly! The Creamed Spinach as an excellent compliment with the innovative and delicious Parmesian Polenta Fries as a surprise winning side dish. Normally, I shy away from the obligatory steak offering fearing it will be "just ok". Like every offering I've tried here. It blew away my expectations. I would prefer the steak at Bettalo over many steaks at specialized steak houses costing $50-$60! Do yourself a favor and order the steak! They made the best gluten free Cacio e Pepe and I was in heaven!!! My husband had the seafood diavolo and practically licked his plate clean. Dessert was a gluten free peach rhubarb cobbler and passion fruit Italian cheesecake. The cobbler with the grilled peaches was outstanding!!! And the Italian cheesecake is much more custardy than its dense NY friend. We will be back soon! read more

What a phenomenal restaurant! Cozy little bar and intimate setting for the room. The staff made it feel like coming home for a delicious, amazing meal. Johnson was so hospitable and had well versed on the food and wine. He suggested we not miss the daily specials and he was so right! Their selection of homegrown tomatoes were the best we've had since we visited Italy. The risotto was We can't wait to go back with friends to try more of the food! This hole in the wall Italian bistro is anything but. Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you! Once you step inside the candlelit cozy atmosphere feels like you are in a tiny bistro in Europe! I highly recommend the blistered Brussel sprouts with balsamic honey reduction and truffle sesame seed gremolata for a starter! After that I had the black garlic and olive lamb ragu. OH my God was that amazing. To finish the meal I highly recommend the 12 layer honey cake with a lime cello! Also, the wine list is pretty cool and you get to try obscure new grapes. Food was fresh delicious and delivered hot! Loved stopping into this place, they changed the menu everyday from my understanding around 4:15pm so there is always something new. I can't wait till they have the lasagna when they do I'm there! Great place for a date night or larger party. The servers there are so sweet and know what's really good to eat here, I feel everything is probably good but that's just me. I will be back. Hope this review helps someone. read more

We have been to this "Dive" three times now, and each time has been better than the last. The food--perfection. Tonight a special pork chop over homemade ravioli in an apple-fennel sauce OMG! homemade buccatini with the best meatballs in Denver, and a house favorite Arrabiata, incredible Italian Sausage in a light cream tomato sauce with the tiniest, mild spice red peppers. Spot on service thanks to Josh, ably assisted by Schaeffer. And both of our last two visits were on Wednesdays, with half price bottle night. Where else do you get a stellar Barbaresco for under $ 50. With the chef/owner alone in the kitchen, this place has it all. read more

Us girls went out for Italian this evening and it was amazing. The server was wonderful so that always helps. We came during happy hour there were some delicious cheap tapas, bruschetta(yummy:-), mussels( I did not love the mussels the flavor wasn't all there and the mussels were eh, more chewy than I like ), arancini was so yummy we got three orders!:-) Burratta(really soft and flavorful, paired so nice with the tomato jam and arugula:-)) the grilled artichoke was so delicious, I've never had an artichoke this way it was so zesty. you eat the meat of the artichoke right off the leaf. The pickle plate was nothing special just a couple pickles and some olives carrots and onions....yummy but nothing special. Last but not least we had a brownie with salted caramel gelato ... So yummy and warm and gooey...the gelato was delicious as it melted all over the soft baked brownie. Would definitely eat here again their whole menu looked so yummy. read more

You had me at wine and tapas! This little Italian bistro opened just a 2 weeks ago in June and is a perfect addition to OnHavanaStreet restaurants. Even though there are a ton of places to dine and explore international cuisine's on Havana Street Bettola Bistro really is a unique and delicious place. Other than Noodles and Company Olive Garden Betolla is the only local Italian restaurant. Bettola means "hole in the wall" in Italian. It's a wonderful bistro to grab HH with friends or coworkers, date night or even just a place to stop to escape the Parker Rd Denver traffic. I haven't tried all the menu items but plan to bring my chef boyfriend back next week for a date night. So far I sampled and enjoyed the ricotta cheese and bread & the artichoke tapas! YUM! Fresh flavors! Cute little bistro to enjoy QT, good vibes & authentic flavors. I will update my review after I experience the whole menu on my next date night. Welcome to Aurora Bettola Bistro! Update- 7/2/18 Monday night date night. Life with a chef means you have date night on Monday. We went around 7:30 PM and the restaurant was full! every table! BB has only been open for two weeks and was delighted to see so many people dining and experiencing the new restaurant OnHavanaStreet. My chef boyfriend and I ordered the special Moscow mule, made with their own ginger beer, and their signature sangria. Both were delicious and very refreshing for a summer evening. We also enjoyed the warm bread, and the Arancini- mozzarella-stuffed risotto balls with red sauce $7. It was delicious and the mozzarella was perfect. For entrées we had the half Herb Roasted Chicken brined all-natural chicken with simple salad & chicken jus $17 and the special of the evening seared scallops. I loved how crispy the chicken breast skin was! Both dishes came with a beautiful salad. The scallops dish had wonderful roasted vegetables, including potatoes. Both entrées were very large in size and delicious. We were so full so we did not get to enjoy some dessert, but we will be back! Bettola Bistro is phenomenal! I have eaten there almost once a week since their opening as a result of the gravitational pull this restaurant presents. Their menu has 'outside the box' flair that I am working at eating every item on the menu. I have read about this chef Samir and the experience at Bettola is consistent with what I have read. Do not start with the spagheti and meatballs, try something new!!! read more

I am normally hesitant to leave a review after only one visit to a restaurant. Upon our second visit to Bettola Bistro, it became clear that this Italian gem is the real deal. Chris and Schafer truly set the tone in the front of the house with impeccable service and knowledge of the menu and wine list. The food speaks for itself, with inventive yet simple dishes, utilizing local and sustainable ingredients made with love and care. Our favorite dish is the tuna carpaccio. It was good! All the bread was very stale, and the olive oil they provided with the bread wasn't very good, but the pasta was good, and the service was really good and friendly. Would go back if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. read more

Is this restaurant in a strip mall in Aurora? YUP! Is it very good Italian that feels homey? YUP! My husband and I with 2 littles under 5 happened to wander into this restaurant after running errands. We walked in and I was immediately a little nervous bc the ambiance was intimate/divy/romantic (not ideal with a 1.5 and 4.5 year old). I could sense sense the table near us was a tad nervous as well. However, the stars aligned and my children behaved very well (compliments from other patrons on their way out always feels good as a parent). The food was exceptional and made with love. The advice given perfect. Wine suggestion on point. "Kids meal" devoured (they let us know what was on the kids meal, my 4 year old said she loved pesto and they made it happen with ease). The ambiance is warm, inviting, divy. A slight juxtaposition but inviting none the less. I love a good dive bar and I love good Italian. Perfecto! I will be back. They also have a nice little patio considering it's in a parking lot in the city. Surrounded by plants. Good job! read more

My wife and I discovered this place a little over a year and a half ago, and this is the *only* place that I can be reminded of my aunt's cooking (I come from a long line of Italians). I've eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants; chains, mom and pop, etc, and this place is something special. There isn't a word that accurately describes the taste of this food other than one knows that whoever cooks the food tastes the good as they go, whereas at other restaurants they throw the ingredients together and serve it, not really knowing what it tastes like. I honestly don't understand some of these other negative reviews, because I've been going to this restaurant with my wife for over a year and change and I have yet to have eaten (or drank) any food that I didn't find extremely satisfying, to the point that my mood changes for the rest of the evening. read more

This is a fantastic place. We're from out of town so we have no perspective beyond the quality of the experience at the restaurant. They bake their own bread, the wine choices are eclectic and the pasta on point. Also I like they didn't go cheap on the napkin quality. This is a hidden gem. read more

I was a huge fan of what the previous owners were building here! The service, the food, the drinks were top quality. New owners and it doesn't have energy and spark like it once did. I can't say what the future will hold but my most recent visit was not the same quality. The food didn't hold my attention as it did. I was not inspired to have drink. The wine I did have was not handled properly. It was a Barbera (my fav) and it was served cold. The service was a bit sluggish. Everyone, first of all I have never left one of these for any place I have ever visited. Bettola Bistro is by far one of the best hidden gems in Colorado. I travel to 5 states to work but live here in Denver. The cacio e Pepe is by far the most delicious Italian dish I have ever had or experienced. This place has outstanding service and is a great place for a intimate date. You need to come and I would say make a reservation if you have a date the way this place is there will soon be lines out the door. read more

Got into Aurora and was looking for good food. Boy did we strike it right. Bettola was fine dining in a very comfortable environment. The server and the sommelier were great. My wife and I had the specials, a lamb ragu and pasta for me and a seafood lasagna for my wife, as well as a fine bottle of their cabernet sauvignon. All I can say is our meals were perfection! It is such a cute venue and the food is fantastic! We also had dessert, we shared an affogato and the honey cake and together they were fantastic. Five stars for ambiance, service and quality of our meal. Wish we lived here. We'd definitely be going back again. Give it a try. You will love it! read more

This was an amazing find! Came here with my dad, uncle and cousin for dinner. The food was AMAZING, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the wine was delightful and unique, the ambiance was really special. We never would have expected such a gem, especially since the outside is very unassuming. My dad and i had the Seafood Diavolo, my cousin had the scallops and my uncle, the scampi. Betolla means "Dive" in Italian as we learned, and they embrace it fully, but don't be fooled, they take extreme pride in the food and drink they serve and the service they provide. Dropped into Bettola Bistro after some super high recommendations from friends. We had a good time, but I think we were a victim of high expectations. Service was great. Pretty casual and chill while still making us feel like valued diners. The place is quaint and cozy which is really fun. Super small and intimate, definitely great vibes. But top to bottom the food was just 'fine'. I would imagine that's going to be some sort of knock based on the quality of reviews, but our experience just didn't live up to the hype. The Pesto Rigatoni was plenty flavorful but it was the oddest pesto I've ever had - it was almost like a pesto broth or soup, rather than the "sticky" pesto that coats pasta that I'm used to. The Tortellini in Brodo was also very flavorful - but boy when they say parmesan broth they really do just mean broth. It was more like a bowl of lightly flavored parm soup with some tortellini in it. I also have to say I had high hopes for the actual pasta - expecting something made in-house, etc. It wasn't bad pasta - not at all, but there was just something so unspectacular about it that left me wanting. Maybe because of the reviews I had my hopes up a little too high, as I wanted 5-star quality food all the way round. We went in last night to celebrate my birthday, it is a cute and quaint place that gives you a very warm feel and I love the staff already as they felt very welcoming. We got two glasses of the house wine and ordered the chicken and the homemade ravioli. They brought out bread and balsamic vinegar for dipping. The bread was AMAZING it was nice warm and fresh. Soon afterwards our meal came good portions. The chicken and these potatoes sticks looked delicious and tasted great too. But after a couple of bites was a little to salty for my preference. I was thankful it came with some mini greens to help balance out the taste. The homemade pesto ravioli was amazing! I loved the pesto sauce so much at the end I asked for more bread so I could make sure to have all of the sauce. The Ravioli was amazing to, but a little too al dente to my liking. The burrata was creamy and the salty and sweet components balanced the aged sherry gastrique and made for an incredible intro to a beautiful performance by the chefs. Next was another small dish, which I wish I remembered the description for (I need to bring a little notebook with me), but it was a perfect segue into the next course, the ibérico presa. Wow. Just wow. White asparagus has got to be one of my favorite vegetables next to artichokes, when done exceptionally well, as they most definitely were. The piquillo peppers and pickled shallots complemented the pork, which was so soft, perfectly. I definitely died and went to heaven at this point in the meal. This is probably when I should've stopped eating because after this point, still pure delight, but my poor stomach was soooooo full. Next was another small bite to lead into my next course, also incredible. Wish I could describe it. My next course was the European sea bass. Now, sea bass is my favorite fish of all time. The perfectly crisp skin, the red onion jam, the spicy sweet balance was perfection. I loved every bite. The olive oil potatoes were a perfect complement. And at this point, I was bursting at the seems... but I still ordered dessert, because you only live once and food is one of the great joys of life. For dessert, I had the crema. When she arrived at the POS station - behind the bar about six feet from where we were sitting - she proceeded to complain about the "a-holes" (edited for language) using the Passbook and what a bunch of a-holes those customers were (not knowing we were in earshot). And when the bartender - who knew who we were and that we could hear everything - said in a hushed tone "No, they were nice" she proceeded to tell him that she didn't care and that they're just a-holes. I've never been treated so shoddy in my life in a restaurant for no other reason than using a promotional discount that they voluntarily participated in. It's bad enough to attack your customers for using a discount. But doing it behind the bar where customers can hear you is beyond unacceptable. And doing it when the customers you're talking about are within earshot is the most offensive thing I've ever expereinced at a restaurant. You may go to Steuben's and have a nice meal, but just be aware that behind the bar, they're talking about what an a-hole you are.

This place is so awesome it's hard to pick a place to start - Service is a 10/10. Someone greets you immediately and seats you. They know everything single thing about each dish that is served and we always let them suggest the wine pairings. Schaeffer was our waiter and we were delighted. We've had him before and he is attentive and kind. Food was also a 10/10. We ordered the three specials for the evening- Clam bisque, lobster lasagna and 48 hour braised short ribs. They were divine. We seem to lean toward the lemoncello or limecello that Schaeffer makes for dessert. It is awesome. If you haven't eaten here you are missing out. Loved this place! Great way to end a day. We were pleasantly surprised. The decor was mellow and warm. There were four courses: The Appetizers, Entrees, Sorbet, and Dessert. Toppings are between $5-$6. If you get one of their multi-topping signature pizzas it is around $27. That pricing model doesn't make sense. The woman who answered the phone and handled our transaction (6/12) was less than friendly. It would've been nice to have a warmer welcome. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed friendly, but it just takes one bad apple to spoil the barrel. The pizza was good, but not $35 good. We won't be returning.
