This review is over-due. We can't recommend Bev enough! We've been using her cakes for our children's birthday parties since 2015. We've done Frozen themed (twice!), animal, etc. Her creations never fail to impress us. She works closely with customers and offers great suggestions. Where to begin... After reading all the wonderful reviews about Bev I decided to schedule a tasting with her. I told her that there would be 6 of us and she said that was more than fine and that she would bring a few flavors for us to try. Bev is such a sweet lady and everyone enjoyed meeting and talking with her. When she showed up for our meeting she had 3 generous sized cakes for us to try (there was even a lot left over that she left for us to enjoy) The flavors were amazing and the butter cream frosting was to die for. We decided right then and there without meeting any other cake vendors that we were going to book her for our July 2013 wedding. We have worked with Bev on two separate occasions. The first time was for our wedding cake for our wedding in October 2006. I found Bev via word of mouth on a wedding discussion forum for the bay area. She came highly recommended and I see why. For our wedding, Bev made us a 3-tier marble cake with buttercream frosting, in square shaped layers. She decorated it with pretty swirls (tone on tone) on the icing, and between the layers we had rose petals provided by our florist. Bev provided (as others have mentioned here) 3 samples of various flavors to choose from in actual mini-cakes, not just slices. We loved the marble cake and are glad we got it. The cake ended up exactly as we had hoped... better actually. The flavor was outstanding, it was moist, and the icing is incredible: homemade buttercream that is sweet and buttery but not overpowering like a lot of icings can be. We both made sure to have a slice of our wedding cake at the wedding and our guests raved about the cake during and after the wedding. Our whole experience in planning the cake with Bev was fantastic. She was helpful, friendly, and responsive to all of my inquiries. The cake was delivered on-time to our reception location (Palm Event Center in Pleasanton, CA) and she set it up using the facility's square cake stand and the rose petals from the florist. Best of all, her prices were outstanding and we felt like we got a really good value for our money. Fast forward to 2009. Our son just turned one and after pricing birthday cakes at local bakeries (easily $100 and up for something kind of basic), I decided to contact Bev again to see if she could bake our son's birthday cake. Success! She consulted with us over email and since we knew we liked the marble cake, we went with that again. She decorated the top of the cake to match the theme of the party (luau) and it was delicious once again. And again, the value was fantastic and frankly I think the quality of this cake was way better than a bakery cake which tend to dry out. Finally, Bev is just a terrific lady. She is sooo sweet and genuine. She is easy to work with and tries to accommodate your requests, preferences, and schedule as much as possible. We hired Beverly to make our cake for our wedding in February. She was on the preferred vendor list for our venue. I am so happy that we met her! She made 4 different kinds of cake for our tasting and showed us some of the different designs she could do with the frosting. We knew we wanted flowers on our cake in which she showed us which flowers she could use from her collection or let us know she could work with our florist. She uses her own buttercream frosting (obviously made from scratch) and tastes so much better than ganache which is so chewy. Her cakes are moist and very tasty. It is hard choosing a food that pleases so many people at a particular event, but we knew we couldn't go wrong with any of the flavors. We actually had a hard time choosing a flavor because we loved them all. As for Bev, her personality is very infectious. She is polite, professional, and personal. She works from home and only makes one cake per wedding day... meaning that her cakes are freshly baked and not frozen over night for your wedding.
