The staff here is extremely helpful. I was looking for the crown royale Apple liquor and they were out of stock. An older gentleman with dark curly hair named, Gesant was extremely helpful he even went out of his way to help me find this very rare Royal Apple by Crown Royal. I'm pretty stoked because as it turns out he found two bottles at the Orinda store which I am on my way there now to pick up. I wish I could do more than just write a review for this man. He went above and beyond his responsibilities by helping me find what I needed for my boyfriend and his friend for Christmas. I love this Bev Mo it's one of my favorite locations. read more

Wow... Some of the highest prices I've ever seen on beers and liquor. I don't mind paying a little more as this store is conveniently located and super clean but nobody was there which makes me always nervous and for good reason... The prices are at least 20% higher than most places I've ever seen. With that being said that's the only negative as the place is super clean in the staff was friendly enough but there was again nobody in there and I don't like paying for high-priced alcohol anywhere. read more

The BevMo in Danville is not open on Sundays, so seeing where I wanted to take advantage of the $.05 sale currently running I thought I would scoot over to Walnut Creek while I could remember. I've been to the Walnut Creek location before; it's huge. On my last visit I purchased skull and crossbones ice cube trays -- so cute. On this visit, I purchased four higher end bottles of wine for about 60 bucks (throw in Yancy's Fancy wasabi cheese for good measure). The store is very well organized, the staff is friendly, and even when the wine isn't $.05 for a second bottle they have some really good deals. This location is really close to the expressway and it is really easy to find. So you have no excuse for not stopping in to check it out! read more

This BevMo is NICE! I like this location way better than my normal stop in WeHo. It jut seems bigger and more spacious and well laid out. Right when you walk in they have a huge cheese display case with more cheeses than Trader Joe's. I even found them to be stocked with my favorite summer brew Skinny Dip which the website always claims to be out of (online AND in stores) since it is currently the dead of winter. I had placed an online order for pickup on my way through 680 from Los Angeles to Antioch and the inventory for one of the bottles I ordered showed only 1 in stock. Usually this means they don't really have it and I expected to receive an additional email telling me as much as soon as an employee went to pull my orders from the shelves but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they did have everything as promised. We even picked up a 12-er of Fat Tire (in cans!) and I almost considered picking up some cigars for extra Xmas gifts since they were displayed right there next to the Order Pickup aisle. Extra props for being well stocked with Three Olives Root Beer flavored vodka since most of the SoCal stores always seem to be out of it. read more

I love customer service at this particular location. There's this guy named John. HE'S THE BEST!!! He's knowledgeable, very kind, and most importantly, he suggests wines based on your taste preference and budget!!! He describes the taste of each particular wine whether these are local, French, Chilean, etc. He's the guy to go to when you go to the Walnut Creek location!! I drive from Dublin to Walnut Creek just to get his advise on wines! I have not gone wrong once with John's help. Keep up the good work!! read more

Ah man I have being part of Club Bev. Where else can I get this kind of selection of beer? I could come here once a week and buy a different six pack every time and it would be a while before I tasted their whole selection. They also have a wide variety of 22oz craft brews that would keep me busy for a while. On the spirit spectrum of things, the choices are vast. If you are looking for anything to make any drink, they probably have it. No surprise, wine is no different than beer and spirits. I haven't ventured over to this section as often, but I assure you that you will find something that you're looking for here. And best of all, all the prices are extremely reasonable. read more

OMG, as a New Yorker moving to the west coast, this place WOW'd me in so many ways. I love this location! The staff are very resourceful when it comes to beverages and cheeses to match. I think I experienced my first cheese tasting here...LOL. The have an equally large selection of cheeses from so many different regions and animals to pair with both the domestic and int'l wines. Also if you're beer fan, don't sleep on this place. BevMo delivers on their beer selection as well as the 30 plus selections of Root Beer. The prices are definitely reasonable and more so their $.05 wine sales...this place is like the Target of wine and very spacious. Thank goodness for BevMo! I came in here a few months ago looking for a beer I'd had when I went on a trip to New Orleans. It's called Abita, a local brew in Louisiana, and kind of hard to find when you're not in the South, but so worth the search! I walked in and asked if they had it, luckily the front clerk knew the name and pointed me in the right direction. I picked up a few 6-packs and was on my way. MMMMmmm! He has introduced us to a variety of new wines that we otherwise would not have tried. Oh yes, there are moments were I fail to find the label of beer or wine that I'm looking for. But they're far less than at other places where I may shop. Your buy one bottle of wine and get a second for 5 cents adds injury to insult. The rest of my body salutes you, however, and finds you are the best place in the Bay Area to buy booze. Totally great place to git yer lik'her, beer, and wine. Fantastic selection, well laid out store, and online ordering is the way to go!! They have almost every alcohol you can imagine and if they don't have it they will find it for you and SO it. The Walnut Creek location is really awesome. The staff are friendly and pretty much know what they are talking about... ( I will not go into the time I went in and asked where they kept the CAB's - the person didn't know what I was talking about, and actually went to far to tell me that they didn't carry that) They have a great deli where they will cut you a sample of almost any of the huge amount of cheeses and salami's they have. They have wine tastings (they cost $ though ) They have a plethora of Beer, and they also have specialty soda pops which is always fun to get if you are having a party, ( it makes the DD's feel a little less left out of the fun)Lot's of wine, They even have a special room for the "good stuff." read more

I always have a great experience when I go to BevMo and today was not an exception. The BevMo Days Sale is going on, so we went in looking for four very specific wines that we saw in the advertisement. I had no problem finding the first three, but was having issues locating the House of Independent Producers 09 Chardonnay. I talked with one of the gentlemen who was restocking the aisles and he immediately pointed me in the direction of the Chardonnay - it had just arrived and was sitting on an end cap, waiting to be placed with the other Chardonnay. This type of service always makes me smile. While I sometimes hesitate to ask questions when I'm having difficulty locating a specialty item, today I received great service. BevMo is great. It's a convenient location for my commute home so I can pick up whatever I need for the evening or the weekend. I love that they have chilled Bundaburg Ginger Beer. So good. The staff is really friend, they help me find things, answer questions etc. It's just a well organized nice place. I recently discovered the deliciousness of Black and Berry. Guinness with a bit of Black Currant. The internet has said juice, but my attempts of adding juice made it taste gross. So off to bevmo to find alternatives. I asked if they had any Black Currant Syrup. He directed me to the Torani section -- but alas, no Black Currant. He said it was discontinued. He looked up black currant -- and beside it was cassis, apparently the french word for black currant. and Voila! Creme de Cassis -- a black currant flavored liquer -- that goes well with guinness. yaaaaaaaay! read more

This is a nice BevMo. It's huge inside! Of course, they cater mostly to the wino's (it is Walnut Creek, after all) - and they have a VAST selection of different wine. LOVE the wine fridges, and the HUGE selection of fresh cheese. I went to the Drake's beer tasting last night (9/27). This was my first tasting at a BevMo. However, having just attending the Yelp Beerwalk event, I feel like I can say that BevMo is definitely on the right track for providing a great atmosphere & informed tasting. The setup was great, and the attending staff were AWESOME!!! Totally kept track of where all guests were on their tasting journey. The only thing that could have been better would be to provide more in depth conversation about the beer itself. The bartenders were really busy, so they couldn't get into deep conversations about the tastings (although they were very informed!). All in all, I am DEFINITELY a fan fo the tastings at this BevMo, and I can say I will FOR SURE be back for more - especially if its craft beer read more

Although they aren't always the best deal, Bev Mo has pretty much anything you need to make a good drink. They also have good cheese-yea! for free samples of smoked mozzarella. FYI- This one cards me every time, even when I am not the one buying, so make sure your prepared with ID in hand-which your supposed to anyways, this is Bev Mo. Maybe because I'm not all that much of a booze hound (that title is my corgi's life asperation, btw), but whatever I get, I generally find cheaper at Trader Joes. They carry, or at least did, Bison Brewery beer, and is the only place over here that I can find it even though it's a Berkeley company. Three stars because they carded my sister for buying a bottle of grenadine mix (ie, no alcohol), and because she's from Missouri, as is her license, they had to get a manager to come over and verify her license, again, for a big bottle of sugar. Lame-o. Also, the parking lot can be a pain to get in and out of, and it doesn't connect to the adjacent Walgreens, et al, parking lot. read more

Love this place. They have one of the best selections of cheese around. The staff is very knowledgeable with the wine and pairings. Their selection is huge and I have been able to discover alot of new wines I may not have encountered before. The wine is separated by types and region which is very helpful. Look for their 5 cents wine sales they have a few times a year you can really save some cash while stocking up. The beer selection is pretty impressive. I am not much of a beer drinker but my brother, who brews his own, has found many hard to get micro brews there that he hasn't found anywhere else. read more

BevMo -- it's like Toys'R'Us for grown-ups! Their selection of wines is outstanding, even if you are looking for something slightly esoteric, like Vinho Verde. Their 5-cent Wine Sales are a wonderful opportunity to stock up; they put a large variety of wines on sale, not just a few bottles they're looking to clear out. However, like another reviewer mentioned, make sure you pick up the vintage that's on sale. I occasionally peruse their beer aisles and indulge myself in the treat of trying a brew that catches my eye (that doesn't always work out). The hard stuff, liqueurs, sodas, snacks (including a full deli) and even cigars are also available here, making it your one-stop Man-Cave Resupply Depot! They regrettably lost a star because they stopped carrying Krusovice Cerna, a Czech beer that blew me away when I first tried it in Prague, and because their parking lot is notoriously difficult to exit, bordering on unsafe at certain times of the day. When I used to live in WC this place was my go-to for beer and liquor. I lived right around the corner so it was so convenient. This BevMo is one of the bigger ones in the area and their selection of everything was vast. When I needed a keg, the service was excellent and helpful. I also really like their selection of cigars. It seems like other BevMos had the usual selection but this one had some cigars I only see in cigar shops. read more

My friend and I went down for it and were 45 minutes til it was over and we were denied! The man running it was extremely rude and wouldn't help us. He simply said it was over even though there was a BIG clear sign saying otherwise, there was only one other person there for it and there was plenty of wine out. So we were a little confused. We used this BevMo for our wedding drinks and were really happy with how everything went. We did two wine tastings and ended up serving one red and one white wine. We also bought several kinds of beers, sodas, and waters, as well as a bunch of ice. Our wedding was on a hot summer day in a backyard, so it was important everything was delivered on time and cold. Do not use BevMo for your event!! Their driver ended up coming hours early when I had my hall at a specific time. Cost me an additional hour at my venue. My party was a surprise and the driver who didn't speak English first called my sister in law who was my emergency contact then when I called him back he told me in broken English that he couldn't speak to me and was leaving with my $1000 order. Couldn't speak to me?!? I prepaid my bill!! I had to sneak away to the venue to meet him. Needless to say, my drinks were supposed to be delivered cold and since they sat for hours they were not. I could go on for days about my encounter with him and not being able to speak to him not to mention he showed up in a junky dented old van. Apparently they outsource the delivery. I called the store to speak to the manager who assured he would 'make it right' and I would be contacted by corporate and nothing!!! I won't shop BevMo again!! read more

Customer service is terrible. I purchased an automatic wine opener early in December for $50 for my husband for Christmas. However, he received another one from someone else. When I tried to return it just two days after Christmas, they denied it because it had been more than 7 days since the purchase. great beer the best wines gourmet foods big bottles of jager the top cigars since day 1 of bevmo's existence it has always been the best place to find all of your adult party needs. i have always been amazed with the huge selection of the best micro brewed beers. it's this place that really made me into the beer connoisseur i am to this day as well as the beer belly. it seems there is always something i need at bevmo and i always seem to find something i don't but am so happy i decided to get it. seems now bevmo is getting a bit more adult as they have a new policy of no one in the store under the age of 21 unless with an adult. bevmo can be rough on the wallet but oh so worth it. i'm sure someday my liver will hate me but right now it's loving every minute of it. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We ordered alcohol to be delivered for our wedding day from here. They had a 2 hour window to arrive and it never showed up. I had to call them 20 min before my ceremony was supposed to start to ask what was going on and their excuse was that the driver called in sick that day. I don't understand how the driver could be the only one who knew they had a wedding delivery that day especially when we placed our order with the manager. We almost didn't have alcohol for our wedding and on top of that my husband requested a call to follow up on what happened and we haven't heard a word.
