So sweet! When we went to drink the Mexican-style hot chocolate from Biao Sugar, I was returned to the rectangle-shaped glass table of my home. I think it helps that I'm Mexican because when tasting the chocolate drink, I tasted the richness of the chocolate and the sweetness of home. For the cute packaging, the prices weren't bad considering many other places have "regular packaging" and can cost $8-9 easily. I came around 5:45pm on a Saturday and only had to wait 15 minutes for the Devil's Egg drink to be re-populated. There is not only a Devil's Egg but also an Angel's Egg which comes with a white eggshell instead of the dark one. There were only two people working that day, but the drinks came out quickly! The egg itself has a screw top. It's not really that water tight so be careful when you're shaking it. It's also kind of difficult since you have to hold the top, put the straw in and drink, then put the top back later. But then what do you do with the straw? It's very inconvenient on the go. If you're wanting to keep the egg as a souvenir I'm not sure what you'd do with it while wandering around. Just seems like a hassle - but a cute hassle. Service isn't that friendly and they sort of unceremoniously just hand you the drinks through the dragon's mouth. Minimally cool. The 2nd drink was the opposite experience, the coffee foam drink with jelly sounds delicious, but it was way way too sweet. I had a sugar crash and avoided all things with sweets the next day. This place blew up a while ago because they hand you a dragon egg boba through a dragon's mouth. However, I was less than impressed when visiting. The inside of the shop is quite small and there is no seating, and the area was also not the cleanest. I ordered the matcha jasmine latte with milk foam - I was unable to adjust the sugar and could only get "less" ice rather than none. You can tell the drinks were premade. We ordered (rating): Ube Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Pudding (4/5), Grapefruit Green Tea (4/5) Honestly the brown sugar milk was pretty good. I remember going to Raccoon Cave and being underwhelmed because the ratio of milk to sugar was off, but this was much better. I did order the ube one, though, and I couldn't taste the ube very much. It all mixes to become the same color so you really forget you ordered ube in the first place. Came across a post on Instagram about hand beaten lemon tea in a duckie bottle and milk tea in a egg. Must be a sign because that's the week where me and a friend is heading to NYC for a celebration. Although the map showed boba places all over we decided to be a-BIAO-t that life. But it was just downgraded Tiger Sugar (no offense). First off this place is so claustrophobic.. I thought it was cool that there is a tiger that the employees hand drinks out their mouth (pictured below) but it was so hard to record or take pics of the moment because the amount of people inside. Of course it's better to wait outside but we trying to take pictures for the yelp and it was hard. The pic below is worth a thousand stress. I am not sure if you can adjust the sugar levels here. The staff was inattentive and didn't offer the option to so I assume not... At $6.50 + tax, it's pretty average for boba in NYC nowadays. Yes, people are saying it is reusable, but the quality of the plastic is not made for reuse. I rather this place offers a cup that is more sustainable and eco-friendly than a grade 5 plastic egg. I've worked In midtown Manhattan for many years as frequent K-Town so this place has always caught my eye. I tried some of their boba right before the pandemic in 2020 but haven't been back since. I stopped by this week to try their new hand beaten lemon tea and to try the devils egg again. The devils egg is : Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Milk Foam served in an adorable reusable egg cup. I loved both. The boba here is always a hit. But I was most surprised at how fast I drank the lemon tea. It was very hot out when I came here so this definitely hit the spot. I will let you all now that there's real pieces of lemon in the tea so be careful. The packaging is also very cute for the teas. I opted for the plain (no flavor) tea bc I don't like my teas too sweet. But I did overhear that adding watermelon to the tea was a must. I'll go for that next time. Wow, the boba here was perfect. I mean the topping. One of the best I've had with a perfect texture made from the bouncy chewiness alongside a sweet boba with a hint of grass jelly. I'm a cup collector, but the eggs weren't anything special without any labels from what I could tell, so I opted for a regular cup this visit. The tea was pretty sweet but I usually opt for 25% sugar so I'd have to see if the sweetness can be adjusted to accurately judge in the future. We had the boba milk tea and brown sugar. Drinks were creamy and tasty. Only complaint is that they don't seem to have larger sizes, so you're still paying a lot for small cups. I suppose price wise it's on par with other boba spots in New York but in general, holistically, it is expensive for the small cup.
