So sweet I forgot his name but I told him I was new to the area and he gave me samples of the food before I ordered which was not only smart but set the tone for the experience. I ordered Ribs, Chicken, And brisket. It all had a good flavor and the sauce was just ok. The worst part was that he chopped all my meats so they would fit in small styrofoam containers. Even my chicken was chopped, this was such a weird thing to do. The beauty of eating BBQ is grabbing a rib with both hands and devouring the middle then working your way down... Then finally comes back and takes my order. Waited 25 minutes outside their new place with nothing to sit on after paying $13 for a one meat barbecue plate. My order finally comes up and I ask for a little extra barbecue sauce and they have the audacity to ask me if I have $.54 to pay for it. Really?? They were timely, professional (great matching uniforms), friendly, and most importantly the food was excellent and hot! We had a lot of international guests and they all enjoyed tasting what was clearly authentic Texas BBQ. I ordered The Taste of Houston. Smoke'n good! Every thing was moist and well seasoned even before adding the sauce. The smoke wasn't over bearing, leaving room on your taste buds to notice the subtleties in seasoning and wood. The owner threw in a free peach cobbler to try. Great marketing technique as I would always add this to future orders. Why not 5 stars? There's no place to sit and enjoy thier creation and it did take awhile to get the order...which they apparently are aware of because they encourage you to phone ahead. read more

This is a review I have to take the time and say that I am happy the owner did reach out to me about my issues. It is much appreciated in a world where your complaints can go unnoticed. To me this showed that they really do care about their customers. I can't deny service like that, and will definitely be willing to give them my business in the future. This was my first time trying Texas bbq since I've moved to Houston, and hopefully it gets better. I will say the potato salad was ok, and the sauce was good. The service was lackluster, and I ordered a white meat chicken sandwich that had more dark meat, also I placed my order on yelp eats for pickup, it is a 20 min drive from my house got there and my food was not ready, and finally I ordered peach cobbler, got home and discovered I had lemon cake. This had the potential to be such a good experience. The gentleman that was working needs to pay a little more attention to detail. Start by offering better service, and if you didn't have the cobbler offer me something else, just don't stick lemon cake in the bag and expect me not to care. I don't even like lemon cake!!!!!!!! This place sucks- you're better off eating from the back dumpster of a real BBQ spot. I just moved from New York and this was easily the worst food I've had since. Big six domino-ed with me. The ribs were smoked and flavorful. The sausage was smoked and flavorful. The potato salad is among the best I've tasted outside my mother and her sisters. The beans were okay. They were rich but I go for a sweeter taste in my beans. Nonetheless they weren't bad. I'll definitely be back again when I need individual servings and I'm not in the city. I usually prefer to buy the whole slab or the whole chicken and that isn't offered here. If they were I could shut my city spots down. Keep the consistency together and you've got a winner here. After reading several good reviews, we thought we'd give this place a try. My husband waited nearly 40 minutes in the cold for this food to be prepared.We ordered a mix of sausage, brisket, chicken and ribs with several sides. After spending close to 60 dollars we were unpleasantly surprised with what we received. Green beans that were soggy, beans with juice although there were little beans in there. You'd think we'd receive complimentary bread, no...they charge per slice. Brisket was dry...very dry with no taste at all. Sausage was okay, although it needed to be doused in BBQ sauce to give it any flavor. Ribs were good too, although pretty dry as well. You guys are great! Yesterday we ordered two sandwiches and chips through ubereats. Excellent! Totally delicious. We had chopped beef, and smoked chicken. It was literally perfect, I do not have a single negative thing to say. We've previously tried the reg sausage and didn't care for it bc of the grease; idk if it was just a bad batch or what. Been here several times so I finally decided to write a review for it. This place satisfies all my BBQ cravings for cheap! I always order the 3 meat combo and that feeds 2 :) It's so much meat!! I love the pork sausages the most.. And I rarely like sausages. The best sides are the potato salad and according to my boyfriend, their mac n cheese. The staff is always friendly. We had Big 6 provide the food for my father's memorial. The BBQ was great, especially the brisket, and Lejon was awesome to deal with as I scrambled to make a bunch of arrangements and bombarded him with emails trying to get my order straight. Great option for take out to feed a crowd, would definitely use them for any family gathering. Delivery was a little pricey (15% gratuity plus $25), so I would probably pick up rather than use delivery when I have the flexibility but the delivery service was prompt and extremely helpful, and in this case the convenience was worth it. read more

UPDATE - Lejon and his staff catered my son's birthday party last weekend. Our guests absolutely loved the food. We received many compliments for the tenderness of the brisket. The only caveat that I'd throw out there was that the folks making the delivery arrived a few minutes (less than 10 minutes) after the original time committed. Luckily we built in enough of a buffer before guests arrived that no one knew the difference. I will gladly recommend Big 6 Bar B Que to anyone who has catering needs. read more

After reading numerous Yelp reviews on how great Big 6 was i decided to have them cater my companies Grand Opening event. Lejon is extremely professional, and his food is delicious. They had 4 servers to cater our 150+ people event. We had the three meat trio of Brisket, Chicken, and Sausage & Pecan Pie for dessert & everything tasted FANTASTIC. Completely happy with my dinner. Pork ribs and rib tips fantastic. Lean, yet tender and juicy. Smoked and seasoned perfectly. Pork sausage very nice. Beans were stellar: full bean taste up front, nicely spiced and just a perfect touch of vinegar. Potato salad nice and tangy, but would prefer of the potatoes stood up a bit better (both in taste as well as flavor), but good. And then, top it all off with a stellar peach cobbler: nice firm corn biscuit batter with nice full brown sugar flavor: I imagine this well be incredible when peaches are in session.
